Name: Link
Gender: Male
Appearance:
Personality: Prior to the onset of his amnesia, Link was someone who was dutiful, serious, dertermined, and admittedly became a stoic and silent type to try to best handle the nerves and extreme pressure as the chosen Hylian hero. He protected the princess and followed her everywhere, though only when they became close enough did her privately confide in her and talk. After his amnesia, however, he became a jovial, pun-making, joke-loving, silly, sarcastic, and franklly sassy and curious kind of individual as he wandered Hyrule trying to figure out his past and trying to stop Calamity Ganon. A rather odd dichotomy, to be sure, though his bravery and courage in the face of peril and dangers like monsters never did seem to change about him.
After regaining all of his memories, however, parts of Link’s old and new personalities seemed to merge.
He can be courageous to a reckless point at times, yet is more relaxed and is compasionate to those he cares about. He can crack a sarcastic comment of joke, but can also be highly dexterous and ingenious at times in and out of battle. Link can be determined to an extreme when he puts his mind to something, can be wise when he seeks to apply his knolwedge and dexterity, and can even be goofy and sassy when he wants to be as well. His generally stoic face hasn’t truly changed at all despite being more relaxed than he once was, making his sarcasm at times somewhat strange to some people, though another constant about him is that he has always remained a glutton who can’t resist a good meal.
Brief History: In another Hyrule out there, in a far flung future, a fortune-teller spoke of a greaty prophecy. A doom that would befall Hyrule when it once more awakened, and the tale of a princess and ancient hero who defeated this evil 10,000 years ago with the assistance of ancient Shiekah Technology that by now had been long-buried. Link, the one chosen by the Master Sword and latest reincarnation of the Hero, the latest princess of Hyrule, and four other heroes were chosen to try to stop the threat based on this prophecy. Yet despite thier struggles to get along, and fight the menace, they were ultimately defeated and slain....all but two. Zelda, the princess of Hyrule, placed her beloved Link into the ancient and refurbished Shrine of Resurrection, to heal his wounds and keep him alive. She then went off to face the evil, Calamity Ganon, alone in order to save the remnants of Hyrule’s people.
One hundred years later, Link awoke with total amnesia about his past. His combat ability and some traits remained, he acquired Zelda’s old Shiekah slate that had been used to seal him away, and with promptings from the captive Zelda (who was sealing Calamity Ganon in Hyrule Castle still) and her deceased father Link set off on a mission. He was assigned to gather back his old memories, save the four giant constructs called “Divine Beasts” from Ganon’s control, acquire the Master Sword once more, and then slay Clamity Ganon for good. And so Link traveled around the land of Hyrule, making allies, gathering supplies, cooking food, and slaying vile monsters in his path. Eventually, once he had achieved all prior goals, he set off into Hyrule Castle and slew Calamity Ganon with the help of Princesss Zelda.
Now traveling once more with the freed Princess Zelda, the duo seek to restore Hyrule to its former glory and status. However, it seems another adventure awaits the hero himself in the meantime...
Universe of Origin: Hyrule (“Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild”)
Equipment:
-
Paraglider: Used with an ability he has to fly far up into the sky and glide down, or to glide down off of high places, this foldable equipment is kept on his person just in case. He can puill it out and put it up seemingly within the blink of an eye, even doing so last minute to avoid catastrophic damage from a fall. It is both fireproof and unable to freeze, both by some mysterious means.
-
Master Sword: The Legendary Blade of Evil’s Bane, it has been fully empowered by Link aftrer he underwent special trials to unlock this power. The blade glows with a holy blue light, and is an unbreakable weapon whose power is increased in the face of evil and corruption. It can even strike incorporeal spirits as easily and fully as solid flesh.
-
Shiekah Slate: A versatile piece of ancient Shiekah technology. Utilizing Shiekah Towers, which are absent outside of his world pretty much, he can look at a general map of a given area’s terrain and features. He can also view an area’s temperature and even the time using this device. He also has multiple “runes” installed into it for different functions, including a Camera and Album for pictures, and there is a Compendium installed that has data on the various forms of life and creatures of Hyrule. It can also be used to interact with Ancient Shiekah Technology, such as the Shrines the ancient Shiekah once built.
-
Bow of Light: A divine bow of great power formed by Princess Zelda, and given to Link during the final battle with Calamity Ganon. It generates and fires its own divine arrows that smite targets with divine power, essentially giving it unlimited ammunition as well, and despite its notable existing might its arrows are rendered even stronger against evil targets.
-
Hylian Shield: His trademark Hylian Shield, a well-built and powerful defensive shield he acquired from Hyrule Castle’s depths in this case.
-
Champion’s Tunic: The attire he wears that was once given to him as a sign of his status as one of the Champions. It alows him to pasively percieve the “health” of other living things around him, whether it be better (higher) health or lower (poorer) health.
Abilities:
Link is a man of...admittedly a great many talents. Shield surfing on grass and snow and such terrains, cooking potions and delicious/varied meals with multiple potential effects using just a wok, fighting with strength on the level of Gorons and their kind, slaying entire forces of monsters on his own, adeptly and masterfully using any kind of weapon he gets his hands on from bows to brooms to giant leaves and virtually anything else he can grab on the fly, create actual shockwaves when slamming down heavy weapons, chop trees in two slices, deflecting powerful lasers using something as seemigly impossible and simple as a pot lid, and more. He is great with horses as well, can essentially “slow time” when firing a bow in the air, and can easily dodge/react to even the lightning-fast attacks of Thunderblight Ganon whilst parrying enemies with a “flurry blow” that temporarily slows down time for a few seconds. And those are just his personal skills.
He can use the runes has on his sheikah slate to generate spherical or square bombs, freeze an object in time temporarily (including stasis jumps and some assorted silliness), generate ice pillars in even the smallest bodies of water (so long as the body of water is wide enough to generate the pillar), and utilize magnesis to move even giant metal objects out of his way or to smack them into enemies (among such uses). He also can summon the “Master Cycle Zero”, a super-ancient Shiekah divine beast built for him to ride around on when on the ground, getting up to high speeds on even wild terrain, and able to drive and bob/weave circles around the ancient and corrupted Guardians he’s faced in his world. The Master Cycle can run on anything as fuel as well, and is even indestructible to boot, and is summon-able and dismiss-able by Link at will.
He possesses abilities from the Four Champions he once served with as well, which were granted to him. From Urbosa, the Gerudo Champion, he gained the power to summon lightning. From Daruk, the Goron Champion, he gained the power to produce a powerful magical barrier to protect himself from attacks. From Revali, the Rito champion, he gained the ability to create an updraft that sends him high into the air using his paraglider. And from Mipha, the Zora champion, he acquired a passive ability that revives him upon death (derived from her healing powers).
