Barbara was only a teenager when her younger brother put a bullet through her spine. Little James would flee into the night, going on to kill other redheaded women in some twisted retribution for their mother walking out on them. Barbara, though? She was stuck. Stuck without the use of her legs. Stuck with the memory of that attack- recalled in perfect, horrid accuracy. A wealthy, anonymous donor threw her a lifeline, spending a fortune on an experimental procedure and the months of intensive recovery that followed. Every step was agony. The memory of that moment kept her going...the memory, and what she dreamed of doing when she finally caught her brother.

A crawl turned to a run turned to a leap. She didn't just return to her old self. Babs was better, stronger. Driven with a purpose few could match, Barbara donned a costume bearing Gotham's premier symbol of vengeance- justice- and went on the hunt. She would've killed James that night if Batman hadn't been there to turn her gaze from the abyss.

Nearly a decade's past since. As Batgirl she's fought every villain in Gotham, tangled with aliens alongside the Justice League, and gone on to help train a few bats and robins of her own. As Barbara Gordon, she's working on her doctorate in Forensic Psychiatry and found work in Arkham Asylum of all places. She hasn't quite hung up the cape, though her newfound career takes precedent: she's come to believe an outreached hand does more to help Gotham in the long run than a closed fist to the nose. Its been a hard, storied road, but the end's not yet in sight. Not for Batwoman.

Following the example set by MB, I wanted to explore a version of Barbara Gordon that was allowed to grow up. Most comic book characters are stuck in a temporal loop, never allowed to evolve much beyond their original conception- I think that's lame as hell, but it also provides an opportunity to explore those futures in games like this one.

This Babs has lived a full life as a costumed vigilante already, and while she hasn't retired yet, its becoming a less and less prominent aspect of her life. She only puts on the costume when circumstances require it; its a 'break glass in case of emergency' option that she's growing less fond of each time she goes out. She feels quite strongly that she does the best work for the future of Gotham as a psychiatrist, curbing the worst impulses of her patients and offering a second chance to those that want it. In her mind, Batman's methods don't offer much in the long run save for broken bones and a festering grudge.

She loves and respects the man for all he's done for her. That won't change. There is, however, an undeniably tension between the two, as Barbara has made her disagreements with him very clear.

I'm hoping to play a supportive role in the arcs centered in Gotham, offering a helping hand and a different perspective to the rest of the Batfam. A bit of character drama and tension always makes things spicier, too. Bab's direction in the future would depend a lot on what happens IC, and there's a possibility of her upgrading to a roaming role.

C H A R A C T E R C O N C E P T:

Cherub is the X-Baby counterpart to the mainstream Earth's mutant and X-Man known as Angel. Specifically, Cherub was created at a period in Warren's life where he was known as Archangel, the former Horseman of Death. An artificially engineering being, Cherub -- like all Adorable X-Babies -- was designed to appeal to Mojoverse audiences as part of a Murderama special. Similar to Warren during the period that he went by the identity of Archangel, Cherub possesses blue skin and a pair of techno-organic wings that are razor-sharp, with a neurotoxin on the points.

This Cherub is, in fact, not the original X-Baby encountered by the X-Men. With the X-Men remaining popular in Mojoverse media, the X-Babies are periodically "cancelled" and replaced with new clones that represent the current generation or evolution of the team. While tedious, the cancellations are often some of the highest viewed specials between seasons. This Cherub, the second X-Baby modeled on Warren Worthington III, was part of the third generation production run, with the original having been part of the first Murderama. As Warren Worthington of the X-Men had taken back the mantle of Angel and once again featured feathered wings, the decision was made to cancel this Cherub and replace him for the next season. Fleeing from the warwolves, Cherub encountered an unstable Spiral. In the chaos that ensued, Cherub accidentally fell into a portal that transported him to New York. Amid the mild panic that ensued with a flying boy over the Big Apple, the warwolves pursued him from Mojoverse, leading to the X-Men intervening.

Debate over what to do with the X-Baby continues, but in the meantime, he'd found a home at the Xavier School. Attending classes with the New Mutants, whether his current status as free of Mojo's control is temporary or not remains to be seen.

P L O T ( S ) & G O A L ( S ):

Doc, Retired, and I kind of stumbled on a shared vision for the X-Men and New Mutants. Cherub is a character I've thought about taking a stab at developing a few times, being one of the more interesting (conceptually) X-Babies in my mind, so this seemed like a good opportunity to write a character that might not otherwise fit in a lot of narratives. And using the X-Baby version of Warren leaves the original free for someone to use.

C H A R A C T E R N O T E S:

While every Marvel writer who has touched them has reinvented them (from tweens to literal infants), this character has undergone several name changes; being first stated as Cherub, then Lil' Archangel, and finally X-Baby Angel. Each incarnation resembled the Warren of the current comics with no shared continuity between appearances. For simplicity's sake, I use the original name and tried to account for the lack of continuity and changes in appearances by adding the "cancellation" aspect to the X-Babies/Murderama story.

Rounding out the youngest New Mutants, Cherub is joined by Katie Power (Energizer) and Sammy Pare (Squidboy), who are both 13 years old for purposes of this application/continuity.

"All that demon blood had to be good for something."

Raven is the spirit of vengeance, brought to the brink of death by her own family, sacrificed to her father Trigon to bring his return to earth, the satanic ritual was ended by the consecration of the site by the holiest of magic - the spirit of vengeance. But not before 16-year old Raven was knocking on death's door. The reaper gave her a choice. End her life as a teenage witch and face judgment for her heretic ways or become the eternal rider of vengeance.

Judging by the flames in her hair, it's not hard to see what choice she made.

P L O T ( S ) & G O A L ( S ):

I will be playing Raven as a roaming character, going from place to place and putting out (and starting) fires wherever she can. Trying to find a happy medium in mixing her two parts, in something of a 70/30 split between Raven and Ghost Rider. She's the mellow teenage witch we all know and love mixed with the endless hunger for the blood of the guilty. I've got no ambition of playing Johnny Blaze here, so she'll be quite a lot different than the usual shotgun slinging rider of darkness I'd usually dip my toe in for.

As I said, I'll be playing Raven as a roaming character where her key plots will rely on her hunting supernatural threats, and if that's not gonna meld with someone's plot, the wicked, vile, and guilty are also on her shitlist. Mixing the two, I think it becomes very easy to fill a list of targets for the young ghost rideress to logically do battle with.
Raven is a girl who wishes to sit inside her room reading dusty old gothic books till the end of time, but she's chained to a comet of righteous fury. Constantly at odds between her demonic roots and the divine purpose of the spirit of vengeance that rests within her.

Teenage high jinks? I'm in.
Do demons need smiting? She's there.
Do bad people need the fear of god put to 'em? You got it, boss.

C H A R A C T E R N O T E S:

CHARACTERS:
THE TITANS: She is a former Titan and would have shared backstory with any other characters who could fit that box if applicable.
CULT OF TRIGON: She used to just call them 'family' but in the years since she was a kid to the years of her apparent death brought on by the family that raised her the cult had become emboldened by the seemingly rise of their master and turned wicked and sinisher. She is still hunting down remnants of the cult to this day, the few have made powerful deals with dark forces to spare their own souls from the wrath of the rider.

Johnny Blaze: Once upon a time, many, many years ago the now retired stuntman used to be a version of the rider.
He fought heaven and hell and managed to defeat both the demon Zarathos and the rogue Archangel Zadkiel. He's lost the power upon defeating Zadkiel. Now, he acts as the closest thing to a mentor Raven has.

Sorcerer Supreme(s): Raven knows of both the Doctors, Fate and Strange but she's never actually met either. They tended to hang out on the opposite side of the magical spectrum to herself. Yet as the avatar of vengence, Raven has realized that it's a matter of time before the keepers of magical order comes asking questions.

”Okay, I know I said I wasn’t going to shake things up, but we’re going to have to get some pants on this one.”

For this version of Hellboy I don't want him to be attached to the BPRD, able to explore his own story without being held back because of government blowback. With no government to him back, the entire world of mythology and occult stories will be open to explore. While I love the character itself Hellboy gives me the opportunity to explore different stories from the occult and myths from around the world. I intend to start with the classic versions of monsters (vampires, werewolves and the like) while eventually moving into more obscure stories such as yokai, German myths and of course good ol' Cthulu.

P L O T ( S ) & G O A L ( S ):

Sins of the Father – An outlaw from those who he used to call family, Hellboy has taken to wandering the country doing the job he was raised to do. A last message left for him by his father leaves mention of Lovecraft’s works and a name from the past; Rasputin. Determined to see his father’s last clue all the way through and he is willing to fight through hell itself to do it.

C H A R A C T E R N O T E S:

  • Director Tom Manning – the current director of the BPRD. Manning has never liked or trusted Hellboy and with his defection from the organization he has turned him into public enemy number one. A stuffy bureaucratic type, Manning has never been outside of an office and frequently over looks the work of field agents, especially non-human agents.
  • Roger the Homunculus – an agent of the BPRD. Roger was discovered by Hellboy and his team in Romania several years prior and is now a leader of the team that Hellboy led. While he and Hellboy had an amicable relationship, Roger’s dedication to his job has put the two at odds. Roger believes that when captured Hellboy will be reinducted to the organization, something that Hellboy knows better.
  • Abe Sapien – Hellboy’s closest friend, this fish-man helps Hellboy as much as possible within the BPRD. Sharing the same sentiment towards Professor Bruttenholm, Hellboy even looked at Abe like a brother and was crushed when he chose to stay.
  • Liz Sherman – the love of his life, Liz is an exceptionally talented pyrokenetic who has been the on again off again romance in his life. At the time of his defection Liz and Hellboy had an explosive confrontation regarding Broom and Manning’s cold and callous nature about the whole thing caused a split in their relationship. Now they have to face each other as enemies…something neither are prepared to do.

Frank Castle: ex-soldier, special forces. Probably suffering from war-related PTSD; definitely suffering from whole-family-murdered-before-his-eyes PTSD. Self-prescribed therapy: finding those who orchestrated his tragedy, and wipe them from the face of the earth.

Similarly to the Netflix series, my Frank will be an intensely tortured and intensely violent man who, having exacted his particular brand of vengeance upon those responsible for his family's death, decided to pretend he wanted to leave that life behind and live out the rest of his days as a ghost; but there's only so long a man like Frank can pretend to ignore the shit-filled world around him. New heroes simply frustrate him, more emerging vigilantes who remain unwilling or unable to take the necessary steps to stamp out the very sins they came forward to battle against.

So he's back, no longer a whispered rumour, a horror story petty thugs tell each other on long nights; now a terrifying revenant. The Punisher, returned to exact his punishment.
His methods are brutal -
His methods are controversial -
His methods are extreme -
But they are final.

Frank is a classic Marvel character, the original darker-and-edgier blood-knight, and a staple of many other big-ticket Marvel heroes, Frank's MO being the polar opposite to how we understand 'superheroes' to operate in traditional media. I want to use that contrast to highlight why we love Punisher, and how he's endured for so long (originally appearing as a strange anti-hero antagonist in Spider-Man before his popularity got him repeat appearances and eventually his own series!), but also how Punisher's character can be also used to emphasise the reasons we love our more traditional heroes as well.

Ideally I'm looking to play Frank as a Roaming Character who is pursuing (as always) his own war and his own targets, enveloped in some grand conspiracy once again that has him bouncing from lead to lead, crossing paths with many other heroes, and leaving a significant body-count behind him as he goes.

BRAWN

AMADEUS CHO TUCSON, AZ
C H A R A C T E R C O N C E P T:

"Yeah. I got this... because I ain't Banner. I'm Amadeus Cho. And I've got the monster... right... where... I want him."

Born in the early two-thousands it was clear from an early age Amadeus Cho was different. Growing up he showed highly advanced intelligence, acing all of his tests and class work. To his parents surprise he dropped out of school after college, although quickly found a high paying job at a computer programing company. In his spare time he developed nano-bots, and created other not-exactly-legal tech. At age 18 he was recruited to work in a Gamma radiation research facility, where he adopted, an abandoned coyote pup, known to him as Kirby. After only weeks of working there he was exposed to low levels of Gamma radiation, slowly turning him into a creature similar to the hulk, nicknamed by his sister, Brawn.

P L O T ( S ) & G O A L ( S ):

I'm mostly planning on playing him as a wandering character, drifting through plots often. Most of the time he'll lend a helping hand if the situation calls for it. The "Avengers" are his role models, so he often 'bumps' into them, on purpose. His main goal is the find the Hulk (Bruce Banner) or any other hulks so he can learn to use his powers better.

C H A R A C T E R N O T E S:

As Brawn he stands at 6'1" as Cho he stands at 5'8" In his Rage form he's 7'4"
Unlike most other hulks he doesn't have a large amount of muscle as Brawn, although he does in his rage form
Only when angered to his extremes does he turn into his Rage form
He is able to chose when he wants to transform into brawn, thanks to his nano-bites
Kirby was also mutated by the gamma radiation, essentially turning him into an eight foot long green coyote.

T I M E L I N E :

2001: Amadeus Cho is born to Helen and Phil Cho.
2003: His genius level intellect is first recognized
2005: Maddy Cho is born
2016: Amadeus graduates high school early
2019: Cho gets a job in a Gamma research facility
2020: Amadeus Cho becomes Brawn
2021: He begins looking for hulks.

P O W E R S A N D W E A K N E S S E S:

Powers:
Superhuman Strength
Superhuman Durability
Superhuman Stamina
Regenerative Healing Factor
Super-Genius Intelligence

Weaknesses:
Accelerated Metabolism (After turning into Brawn or doing a complex equation in his head he almost always becomes hungry, allowing his to eat close to six meals a day without gaining a pound)
Over-thinking (Even if the problem is simple he will likely spend hours thinking it over)

"When I close my eyes, I can almost forget that opening them won't wake me up."

Do you know why people say that Daredevil's villains are boring? It's because most of them aren't crazy. They can be reasoned with. A lot of them, like The Gladiator (Melvin Potter) and Stilt-Man (Wilbur Day), can appreciate that they've made a bad decision before their sense of self-preservation kicks in. People love crazy supervillains like Bullseye. I know because I happen to be made from the very same things that most people are. But while a lot of superhero stories boil down to "egomaniacal psychopath tries to hurt a lot of people at once", Daredevil stories tend to feature quieter, more insidious sorts of villains and their dangerous friends. Ironically, the more gentlemanly approach of some of his own less antagonistic foes and his own allies can easily be just as problematic to negotiate as blatant hostility.

This is a thirty-five year old Daredevil with most major events of his personal history behind him. He's been protecting the corner of New York known as Hell's Kitchen for about twelve years off and on depending on how you count and he's getting really, really tired. He's died and come back to life. He's been drowned in the Hudson River. He's been publicly outed as Daredevil. He's blinded the Kingpin. He's been the Kingpin. He's lost his memory more than once. He's been disbarred and moved to San Francisco before heading back home and more recently he's tried taking on a protégé but that didn't exactly go as well as it could've.

This version of Daredevil has to deal with the fact that he is, not only a celebrity staple of trash rags, but an icon, with an entire generation of people growing up seeing his presence as the status quo and seeing him as essential, controversies and all. When you're empty handed from giving your all, what do you do when you still get the sense that something has to give?

P L O T ( S ) & G O A L ( S ):

As the Guardian Devil of Hell's Kitchen, he's responded to countless calls for help, though, as a Catholic man, he's rarely been convinced that his own God could say the same. Upon hearing this, some might say that it's been hypocritical for The Man Without Fear to spend all of his time putting the fear of God into others. To be honest, I'm not sure that they wouldn't be wrong in doing so. But for as long as he's been working as a defense attorney to keep innocent men from damnation, and beating the ever loving shit out of the guilty, he's always felt like he can achieve something more. His father wanted him to be a lawyer, not a fighter. But upon a fresh appraisal of their relationship, he's forced to ask if he could ever possibly negotiate the occupational hazards inherent to scarlet swashbuckling without raising his fists.

Shadowboxer: In a single night, the Wilson Fisk's crime syndicate is stress tested in a coordinated assault by The Hand that leaves him gravely wounded. In desperate need of emergency medical attention, he entrusts his adolescent grandson, Samuel, to the last man anyone would expect, his own arch nemesis: Matt Murdock. However, observation of The Hand's operations reveal that destabilizing the crime syndicate was only their first order of business, upon the discovery of their new Apokoliptan accoutrements.

C H A R A C T E R N O T E S:

If anybody wants to play as Samuel Fisk, Foggy Nelson, or walk through a situation I've imagined as Bullseye, I have some really fun ideas planned. I'm super open to playing with the the other superheroes if anybody wants to either run a classic style Marvel Team-Up or dig into my plot. As much as I more or less imagine this Matt Murdock to include some version of his entire published history, the specifics of the cast involved are a little less initially defined (akin to The New 52 Batman relaunch) largely because otherwise would be tedious for everyone involved and also largely irrelevant.

The biological child of Talia al Ghul and Bruce Wayne, Damian was always going to have a jaded and complicated life.

Instead of being under the tutelage of the Bat from the beginning, Damian was indoctrinated into the way of his mother, aunt, and grandfather within the League of Shadows, a secret society of assassins dating back several millennia with the goal of controlling the world into its ideal state. Damian was born highly intelligent, a facet that was manipulated by the league to create the perfect saboteur and operative. However, Damian’s was arrogant, ever-curious, and resilient. He was not a coveted subservient vessel. This would bring issues in due time, though it would not be Damian who willfully split from the league of his own choice. When he was eleven-years-old his world changed from the subversive temple in the Middle East to the penthouses of New Jersey in the United States when he was introduced to his father, The Batman.

Now thirteen-years-old, Damian has had a breadth of experiences that in many ways have matured him from the place Bruce found him in some years ago when his mother placed him in his father’s care. He still has much to learn, though it doesn’t stop Damian from doubling down and back-stepping into terrible habits formed by his time in the League of Assassins.

Four years ago, I wrote a post in Create-a-Post on Superherohype about a Damian post I never quite got to finish for another project. So I guess you could infer I’ve always wanted to play Damian Wayne at a certain point at his life and sort of redeem the treatment he’s sort of gotten in the comics. The problem, however, was a game set in the right timeline for such an opportunity never really popped up. So I’m hoping I’ll be able to do it here.

I do have a myriad of ideas so Damian could not simply be a supporting attachment but also a roaming character (within the limited sandbox he has means to travel in) such as Damian still finding difficulties in “playing” the role of a normal, functional person. Even after a few years of guidance he doesn’t understand how to not sound like a sociopath or be receptive to normal social empathy.

There’s obviously unresolved areas with Nyssa, Talia, and Ra’s I could workshop with the Batman player and Damian doing small crime-fighting affairs when he is not by the Bat’s side as Robin. I guess I’d like this supporting-roaming blend to be as functional as humanly possible. Ultimately, I just want to write consistently again and have some fun without comfiting myself to leading a sandbox.

Character-wise, we're not looking at much different here. The boys will be the boys, Splinter will be Splinter, and the antagonists will be the antagonists. Now they have to rely on their family and their skills to survive in...DIMENSION X.

It's no secret that I've always loved writing the turtles, and this is a direction I've always wanted to take them in, but never got the chance to. During the conflict, the Turtles are hurtled through a portal and find themselves in Dimension X, a strange, alien place that will test them in ways they never would have imagined. I'm looking to do fun, pulp adventures with the boys out in space with the eventual goal for them to get back to New York and the world they were ripped from.

The Aliens of Dimension X

"You're the boy-wonder-pain-in-my-ass."

I'm aiming for a buddy-cop angle much like the classic one we've come to expect out of this dysfunctional duo from the modern comics. However, in the spirit of this game I've adapted them to the constraints and possibilities of the game. Jason's story is mostly unchanged, I've made some altercations to sew together his Post-Crisis past with his New-52 one. Jason was Robin, got killed by Joker, resurrected in the Lazarus pit and swore his revenge on Joker, Batman and all of Gotham. He was sent to Arkham and spent a good few months killing inmates from the inside, till the crusaders of Gotham stopped him once more. Put into a supermax, Amanda Waller gave him an out and a hefty dose of epxerimental anti-psychotics. Jason is an anti-villain more so than he's a hero.

Roy Harper grew up in Star City with an abusive father and a woman who clung to victimhood. He was a lowlife and got into small-time crime in the Glades, but when prompted with the choice of causing real damage to another human being, Roy chose the path of a hero and stopped his formed friends from mugging the defenseless man. He left Star city as soon as he could, joining the military at the age of 17. He excelled as a marksman and by 20 had broken just about all records the American military had. He worked in Black Ops for a few years but soon got out, instead ending up working directly for Captain America following the battle in 2010. He's become one of Director Rogers star agents and one of the brightest field officers SHIELD has ever produced, even if his methods are unorthodox.

Roy and Jason are tasked with finding the missing Fury, and stop any bad guys they can while doing so. Roy acts like Jason's chaperone, and makes sure the undead Robin doesn't go ballistic yet again.

P L O T ( S ) & G O A L ( S ):

Their nature is very nomadic, they could go anywhere and do anything, both of them are well established in the DC mythos, even if I've stripped Roy of his heroic past since there's no Green Arrow around. Nestling them into the SHIELD organization I think adds a lot of value to it as a faction, but allows them to do whatever I'd think would be fun. I think I could easily write a driving narrative with the boys, but for now I'd start out with them being roaming characters, nibbling away at their own corner of the universe until the time for interaction comes around.

C H A R A C T E R N O T E S:

Roy likes fighting with a bow and arrow still, even though he's a lot more fond of modern firearms in my iteration than in the comics. Roy's still got his technological know-how and is an engineering prodigy the likes of Bruce Wayne or Tony Stark, if he'd be given the resources and time to apply himself.
Jason is volatile and capable of great spurts of madness, he barely began his training with the All Caste, abandoning Ducra pretty much as soon as he could to get his revenge back home in Gotham. He terrorized the city for a long enough time to make The Red Hood a infamous name across the world.

C H A R A C T E R C O N C E P T:

"Our heritage and ideals, our code and standards -- the things we live by and teach our children -- are preserved or diminished by how freely we exchange ideas and feelings." - Walt Disney

Charles Francis Xavier is one of the world's foremost experts on metabiology and metasociology, with a particular concentration on human mutancy. Xavier has dedicated his life to the pursuit of mutant rights in the United States, and indeed, the world abroad. After decades of effort, Xavier's dream of human and mutant harmony seems to finally be coming to fruition.

What started as a school for troubled mutant youths, running out of Charles' ancestral family home - Xavier's School For Gifted Youngsters - has evolved into a sprawling campus dedicated to the betterment of mutants worldwide -- The Xavier Institute. Through the Institute, Xavier and his team are able to personally feed, house, and educate over a thousand mutants in the surrounding Lehnsherr Village, and provide support for those mutants that choose to live elsewhere.

Since the early days of the school, Xavier has operated the X-Men, an all-volunteer team of the best and brightest mutants Xavier had ever encountered. Starting as a clandestine effort to shield persecuted mutants, The X-Men have evolved into a full-blown super-team, battling alongside the Justice League and Avengers. Now organized into a dozen sub-squads, many of which have chosen to take their own names (X-Factor, X-Force, etc.), the X-Men are one of the world's most recognizable names in superheroics.

It is this popularity that has allowed Xavier to expand his efforts. With help from the business acumen of fellow mutant and original X-Man Warren Worthington III, The Xavier Institute have launched lines of X-Men merchandise, including action figures, apparel, and graphic novels, all created by mutants, for mutants. The additional funding allows the Institute to grow each year, accepting more mutants and bolstering activism initiatives.

With this level of reach, Xavier's dreams have only grown. He imagines a world where the Xavier Institute can help not only mutants, but metahumanity as a whole -- much to Lehnsherr's chagrin. To this end, The Xaiver Institute maintains mutant liaisons within the Justice League, the UN, and even the Avengers -- though this leaves the Institute in a precarious position with regards to the US Government's meta registration initiatives.

P L O T ( S ) & G O A L ( S ):

In terms of my motivations for this character, I'm interested in working with lots of people, and I think the set-up of a very far-along X-Men will help me to do just that. I don't have much experience with comic X-Men (most of my knowledge comes from the movies and cartoons), but I know they have an incredibly vast history and cast to work with. Given the extremely collaborative nature of this game, it seems like an unprecedented opportunity to really dive in on the X-Men. And, this way, rather than just one having all the X-Fun, the whole community can dive in!

The heart of the conflict here is the fundamental disagreement between Xavier and Lehnsherr. The details need not be exactly as described above; all I'm really looking for is classic X-Men stuff. At the end of the day, these men want the same thing, but disagree on the most ethical way to get there. I think in this instance I'd like to see an Erik Lehnsherr that starts from a more moderate position, but grows more extreme over time; but the Magneto is your oyster.

Overall I'd like to de-emphasize mutant persecution and oppression from exterior human forces. I'm much more interested in the interior of the mutant community, and the disagreements within it. Do all mutants think the existence of the X-Men is a good thing? How do they feel about the Institute's monetization of their team, their history, and their culture, even if that money is reinvested into mutant interests? Where is the line between meta and mutant?

As big as those themes are, I'd still love to tackle them in a very comic book way -- with super folks in silly outfits beating the absolute tar out of each other. I'm open to all kinds of stories for the X-Men, and in fact, I'd like to see as many supporting characters as possible! With the exception of Magneto, I think the idea overall is to have many supporting characters from many different writers, even if each can only stick around for a short arc or even a tiny handful of posts.

C H A R A C T E R N O T E S:

Working with me, you should know that I'm a planner, not a pantser. There's always room for improvisation, but it'd be mighty appreciated if we could talk on Discord or something and try to think ahead.

My ideal for writing partners is someone who'd be willing to work collaboratively in Google Docs with me rather than following traditional post-respond-post collaboration methods. I find it encourages communication and can make these stories feel a lot more cohesive and seamless, but I'm willing to pursue whatever way of collaboration you're most comfortable with.

It took a lot of blood, sweat and tears to make Vic Sage realize that Hub City wasn't worth saving. For every drug ring or mob racket he took out there was always some other ambitious crook with a following to swoop in and fill the hole he had made. Save a man from getting robbed one day and you'd either find him dead in a gutter or robbing some other schmuck himself the next. Hub City wasn't dying; it died a long time ago and he was still doing chest compressions.

What can one man do when he finds that his life's work has been for nothing? Most would call it quits. Vic Sage decided to dedicate himself to bettering places that could still be saved. He packed up what little he had in his car one night and left Hub City, never looking back. Since then, The Question has been spotted all over the United States, whether it be busting petty crooks or investigating whatever conspiracy he's stuck on this week.

Vic's primary goal in this new nomadic lifestyle is to try and stop the spread of corruption in as many places as he can, in the hopes of preventing more cities from deteriorating like his hometown did. He'll do just about anything and everything: street gangs, mob families, supervillains, corporate and government conspiracies, you name it. My primary goal in giving him this lifestyle is the hope that I can collaborate with anyone willing to give me a shot. I've grown to absolutely despise that whole "stick in your own corner and play with your own toys" mindset that I and many others fell into way too often in past games and I want to take steps to stop myself from falling into that trap this time around. I'm going into this with very little plans beyond "have fun".

I guess you could call him a roaming character then, using the roles established by the GM team. I plan on doing one quick solo arc, maybe two or three posts maximum, to start out and prove that I won't just flake out after one post this time around. After that, I'm open to any and all crossover ideas; if you've got one, hit me with that shit. I'll also be making the rounds and hitting people up with any ideas I have.

"So... who do you want to fight today?"

My aim with running Taskmaster in this run is to emphasize his nature as a tragic villain, keeping in line with the Taskmaster comic runs around a decade ago. The 2010 Taskmaster limited run was a beautifully horrific examination of the character that is ripe for exploration in a more collaborative space. I think the mythology around Taskmaster's past from this run would be toned down slightly, but keeps some of the most important elements. Tony Masters was a prodigy due to his photographic reflexes, an ability to copy the movement and patterns of anyone he watches. This gift got him personally recruited into SHIELD, where Masters' gifts were fostered and used by everyone's favorite eye-patch wearer. His career in SHIELD started in the 2000s, and his tactics and methods became increasingly ruthless over time. For reasons kept close to the chest by Fury, Masters was declared an enemy of the organization six years ago. And six years ago, the Taskmaster was born.

Taskmaster has climbed his way to the top of the most wanted list by both law enforcement and several crime syndicates. With the backing of "The Org," Taskmaster is able to stay one step ahead of his adversaries. That being said... a good number of henchmen for some of the most wealthy crime organizations around the world have employed Taskmaster at one point or another to train them in fighting a number of heroes and vigilantes. After all, who better to teach you how to defeat a hero than someone who knows, implicitly, how all of them fight.

P L O T ( S ) & G O A L ( S ):

Taskmaster is a character I'm hoping to write as entirely fluid in the types of stories that he is involved in. He has personal goals and motives for trying to hunt down Nick Fury, but is also beholden to a criminal organization that assigns him contracts that could bring him in opposition to (or to support) any number of heroes and villains in Sensation and Wonder. In between stints squaring off with any number of heroes and vigilantes, Tony Masters has more than enough on his plate. He has personal grudges against a number of crime families and gangs who double crossed him, and is trying to find a way to combat his memory loss. Every fight takes a little bit more out of the Taskmaster... he just has to find a cure before there's nothing left to save.

"Don't be a buster, bub."

Wolverine is damn hard to kill, as his enemies have had to find out time and time again.

Logan knows he's been alive for a long time. He has memories from as far back as The Great War, but by Xavier's measure he may be even older than that. Logan has lost many memories over time, but what he knows for sure is this: he's lived through wars, he had unbreakable metal fused to his skeleton, he used to live in Japan, he's had a hell of a lot of brain trauma, and he's an X-Man, through and through.

Thanks to Charles Xavier, and the donated memories of fellow X-Men, Logan can at least remember his recent history with some accuracy. He's been an X-Man for some odd fifteen years, running his claws through anyone that'd dare threaten his found family. He's fought the Hellfire Club, been to space (more than once!), beat the absolute tar out of Scott Summers, helped repel the Dominator invasion, and has even ended up as an Avenger at the prodding of Captain America and Charles Xavier.

P L O T ( S ) & G O A L ( S ):

I like writing fight scenes. I don't know if you've heard, but Wolverine is the best there is in a good scrap. Logan has kind have been the town bicycle in these games, going from player to player in a variety of concepts, but this take is gonna be fairly back to basics, drawing pretty heavily from how he's portrayed in Claremont's UXM run. That is to say: a socially stunted little man with more anger than sense, someone who is the best there is at what he does.

As you can see from the banner subtitling this run "Wolverine Versus", I'd like to have Wolverine run up against all manner of foes to test his mettle against. Ideally, Wolverine's run will be more or less a Sensation & Wonder fight club, whether he's duking it out against or alongside his fellow heroes. To facilitate interaction, Wolverine retains his X-Men membership, but is also an Avenger alongside his war buddy Captain America.

Essentially, Logan is here to hang out with Avengers or other player's that'd conceivably know him, and to stab guys real good.

C H A R A C T E R N O T E S:

This sheet is fairly basic, but I really do intend for this to be a more or less vanilla Wolverine to play off other characters. I do have individual plans for him that I'd like to weave through his supporting arcs, but there's no neat way to explain them in a character concept format without spilling my spoilers. Suffice to say that memory is a hell of a thing.

To put it lightly, Eric O'Grady was always a bit of a jackass. A lowly employee of S.H.I.E.L.D. who only got the job as a favor from Eric's brother-in-law. He often found himself stationed working security within one of the labs, the items inside leaving the man in constant awe. It was during one of these shifts that the helicopter found itself under attack, and fearing for his life, Eric decided to jump ship. It was while looting the lab on his exit that he came across the thing that would change his life forever. A prototype Ant-Man suit.

Eric O'Grady spent the next few months on the run, utilizing the stolen suit repeatedly for his own gain, temporarily taking on the identity of Ant-Man himself. This wouldn't last forever of course, and soon Eric found himself the target of the Avengers, who sought to retrieve their stolen property. In the ensuing chaos, Eric ended up saving the life of a young child, which paired with his skill at using the suit, prompted him to receive an invitation to join the initiative on a probationary trial; if he could use the suit, then he may as well try and use it for good.

That probationary trial did not last long, however, with Eric finding himself beaten to death on his very first mission.

Death wouldn't be the end of Eric O'Grady, though. A villainous inventor by the name of Professor Ivo, built a Life Model Decoy of Eric, presumably in an attempt to send him back into the Avengers undercover. Before his plans could be put into motion, the life model decoy of Eric, installed with all of the memories and personality of his previous self, escaped.

Deciding that the life of a hero just wasn't worth the risk (despite his new form fundamentally leaving him immortal), Eric returned to what he knew best; crime. Years later, and with a newfound reputation, he found himself approached by an individual known as the Hood, with a very unique invitation.

Sometimes it's just really fun to play the bad guy. Especially when that bad guy is just an awful person, and very in it just for the money. Eric gives me a great opportunity to explore some of the criminal underworlds in this world that we have all established, as well as also give me a chance to play a character who's very different from all the usual heroes I play.

Eric will be a roaming character, with me aiming to use him to interact with a number of the more villainous characters in the roster.

In the Gotham City criminal justice system, the people are represented by two separate yet equally important groups: The Batman, who beats criminals into unconsciousness and stuffs them in a mental asylum, and the police, who investigate crimes.

These are their stories. Bumm-bumm!

The Major Crimes Unit, a hand-picked group of clean detectives selected by Jim Gordon who handle the crimes the other cops call "the Freak Beat", operate out of Gotham Central.

In the last year both Renee Montoya and the final officer selected by Gordon, Marcus Driver, have both lost their partners in the line of duty. For Montoya, Crispus Allen would be the second partner she's lost in the last 12 months - with Harvey Bullock, the grey line between "old school" and dirty - suspended indefinitely after a very public case dragged his past actions into the spotlight.
As whispers around the lockerroom start to pose questions regarding whether she can hack it anymore, her private life (she was recently outed as gay by an unknown stalker figure) and what kind of police she is, Captain Rob Probson has paired up the two in order to stop hemorrhaging morale by allowing them be anyone else's problem.

Everything reminds Marcus Driver of his late partner Charlie Fields, and the night which saw Firebug take his life from a random doorknock. He's since thrown himself back into his work with many questioning whether he's really ready to return. But where's the line between a hungry police, and a man with a death wish?
