Welcome to the Voting and Feedback round for MF&P#10!

Voting and Feedback guidelines

• Please take your time to read through all the entries before voting for your favourite work. The reasons you base your vote on are up to you, as long the vote isn’t based on whether or not you like the author or because you RP together.
  It would be nice if you could share why you voted for a specific work.
• Giving feedback is optional but highly encouraged. When giving feedback you should be respectful and constructive. It’s good to point out any flaws or the things you feel could be improved or why you didn't like something, but don’t be mean.
  Make sure to point out what you liked or what appreciated in the entry too.
• Contestants may (and are encouraged to) vote and/or give feedback for the other entries but shouldn’t vote for their own entry. If contestants wish to withhold a vote and only give feedback, that is good too.
• The entries are anonymous unless the writer asked for having their name added. That being said, writers may claim their work at any time during or after the voting period.
• The entry with the most votes will win, but in case of a tie a Contest Mod will cast the tie-breaker vote.
• You can vote for entries and post your feedback in this thread, but if you rather have your vote and/or feedback be anonymous you can PM it to @Calle.
• The voting period deadline is March 17th, 10:00 CET, which is 9:00 server time (both times are in a.m.).

Guiding Lights

Lights.
Eight Stars.
Cresting the sky.
Reaching out ad infinitum.
White horses of the horizon.
The sleek battleship grey churning past.
Septuplets guiding the navigator through the abyss.
Cargo cowering in fear of the eldritch benthos.
An esoteric mind rises through the inky depths; searching.
Sextuplets winking out above the screeching tearing of steel bulkhead.

Clive the Legend, Clive the Great

There once lived a warrior named Clive,
On the field, left no man alive,
It'd take ten men together,
With ten brains so clever,
Ten arms holding ten swords to survive.

The strength of ten boars in his fists,
Ten to the power ten maidens he's kissed,
Aura ten feet tall,
Creatures all great and small,
Praise the legend, the myth that exists!

CLIIIIIVE the farmer! ClIIIIVE the farmer!
Ten insults could never besmirch him!

Beautifully written while using the poem structure correctly.

I vote for Guiding Lights. It feels historic, nostalgic, and open with possibilities.

I got Guiding Lights also. Inspired a pretty cool visual. Also the structure, the writer's flowery style and the subject matter all seemed to blend seamlessly. Quality stuff.

So that's my vote. As for the others:

10 steps was a lot of fun. Good use of the number 10, quite visual too once you realise the ride you're on. A bit of rhyming too to add to that tresure map/riddle feel. Twist at the end lol Good stuff.

What lead me here is warm and fuzzy. Feels real. Feels honest, which stands it apart from the others. I also like the mention of family which gives more of an idea of how the whole thing is supposed to be taken. Some nice flowing words near the end (ensued, pursued, my mind - anew) This one almost won my vote, but Guiding Lights barely edged it out. Great effort.
