She doesn't think that Joan has died, she is taking it from a basically mad scientists view and to her it isn't plausible that Joan had died or that she would be there since she was either dead or not dead and seeing as the timezones are strange she suspects that euther none of this is real or that everyone there is dead and this is the heaven or hell or just afterlife they have been sent to.

Hmm.... possible. Bob is a being created from the power of billions of hopes, dreams, nightmares and delusions. Basically, he is human thought, manifest as a sentient being. He was birthed in what I call the Chaos Realm, an interdimensional conflux where energy flows from thousands of dimensions without control. Here, all the power of those dreams and nightmares could combine and create Bob's 'soul' the Chaos Crystal.
