Like the annoying and all-powerful god that I am, I'm watching you two (...Okay, that came out a bit too harsh. Sounded better in my head). In all seriousness, I only have one question, and that's for you, Tai: Who exactly is this Director you're talking about? And who does he work for? If you meant to make him one of Arcon's followers then you'll first have to talk to Dawn, because I know he has very specific rules as to who is his followers, and he might not even let your character be a follower if he intends to play the role of a mole. And please, don't misunderstand, this is not my trying to put a stopper to your plans or generally be annoying, but just a sort of precaution to make sure you don't step on somebody's toes. If, however, this "Director" is a follower of Sweeper's, well... then it's up to you to figure out how he got that piece of knowledge/thingie from Sweeper that would allow Silver Scalpel to achieve transcendence, or at least further his research. If I am to be honest, I am looking forward to the point where Silver Scalpel succeeds/if he does.
Well, I mentioned when it months ago when the game began, I guess I need to provide a refresher:
The Scholars were founded from several of the faculty after the sacking of the Canterlot University (higher learning for all ponies), shortly before the rise of the Moon and Stars. While their purpose is to help preserve civilization, they are unaffiliated with Arcon in any way. In fact, they were unaware of his existence until a month or so in-game. (I actually created the group back for the other RP back on the other forum, before Dawnscroll rejoined. I was actually surprised at Arcon's purpose.).
After the 20 or so years, the Scholarship is a network of former professors, teachers aides, archivists, and students. Basically your typical college stuff. They are headed by a council of Directors, who were tenured Professors at the University. By now, they're largely older ponies the other houses got to found their own technical schools.
Of the Directors, there's one named Prancer Žemaitukas* . Something of a hardass, this Director is a unicorn only concerned with Knowledge. He doesn't seem to care much for Sweeper, though he keeps to his oath to serve her. After all, she did help finish most of the project, allowing him and his own faction to focus on their own research. Considering himself amoral, Prancer doesn't consider the ethical concerns of his research. And has one of the head honcos of the Scholars, he has access to whatever knowledge they have, good or ill. Their Knowledge Vaults contain dark things as well...
* Žemaitukas is the name of a Lithuanian pony breed - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C5%BDemaitukas

"What would Scalpel be looking for"Well my thoughts on the matter regard my headcanon of magic in this and follow a very similar route to the one I used in resurrecting Scalpels "Risen". Basically my theory is that magic works like a network of veins across the world, with a vast connection of small capillaries providing magical base line magical output for all ponykind, and larger arteries consisting of the main streams which transport the vital magical energy and distribute it to the smaller vessels. My theory revolves around redirecting some of these "arteries" into one position, making a certain point of the planet have an immense amount of latent magical energy run through it, and then "ripping open" these "arteries" so that the magic bleeds into Mundus. What Scalpel would be looking for is three things, 1) a way of redirecting strong streams of magic to one select position and saturating the area with ambient magic 2) A tool to literally rip open these "arteries" - Scalpel is not strong enough to do it himself being only a mortal, thus the reliance on the Alicorn horn +machinery- and special tools for the delicate process of doing it without the raw energy causing a massive explosion and killing him 3) a spell similar to that of Tirek's amulet which harvests magical energy and infuses the very essence of the person it is cast upon with huge amounts of raw power."and what do you want from the entry?"Don't know quite what you mean, perhaps a bit of back and forth, talk about all the crazy shit stirring up in the world now we have fourth Tier alicorns running about, perhaps an deal being made between the two- in essence "you give me your forbidden secrets and I'll share mine" sort of thing. If you want to, you could have your guy tap on the door and Scalpel be all grouchy and yell for you to come in, only for you to be greeted by him working on a lot of corpses with a lot of machinery attached to them. :P
Alright, that give me an idea of how to approach this. Prancer may be hesitant to procure Sweeper's horn (He may lack morals, but he does keep his word). But he probably has access to to either items 1 or 3, or a weaker version of 3. At the very least, something for Scalpel to start from. I'll get an entry ready by tonight.
