I like Aria a lot, but of course I mentioned that in pms. |D
I'll echo what Buns and Rex have said. I like her class and powerset, an illusionist is different to what we have with everyone else and opens up to a lot of potential both battle wise and downtime wise in interaction. I like her fan weapons too, that's really neat and unique and something that's pretty cool. She's very ninja-esque going off abilities and image, which for me is fun. I like her personality too... as Rex said, she's different to everyone else we have so far but enough similar traits for her to compliment everyone else nicely. Another drinker get ruined with Amy and Moira sounds super fun (also their ages would roughly be 40ish, 30ish and 20... that's a pretty hilarious mental image to me for some reason). I think battlewise she and Trixie could play off each other nicely, and her cheerful pessimmism is hilarious too. She and Lucien would get on magnificently.
Something I want to ask though is what you had planned for her limitation wise with regards to her illusions, just to get a sense of idea about power balance? :) Illusion based powers can be overpowered but that's dependant on the writer, and I'm just curious what kind of limits Aria would have at the moment. Generally, skewing towards lower power/abilities is better, at least to start off with and see how the rest of the cast is, plus the fun thing about illusion powers too is the room with which they can grow. Just wondering what you think about that and what examples you might have of the types of illusions she can cast.
One thing I asked Kathi about in pm is how Aria fares with 'playing music', since we have a couple of music based characters already and (Kathi can repeat/further explain this for herself :) ) was wondering how exactly Aria does this. You mentioned she can play a violin, and she sings as well (but not neccessarily to a great degree?). We have Selan and Don singing and dancing, which could be cause for concern with her overlapping in this regard, but I think Aria could actually contribute this nicely if she's more violin based and accompanying Selan as an instrument player, perhaps. One idea I just came up with, and is only a suggestion, could be, say, Selan and Aria bonding with the former coaching Aria on how to sing? But I'll defer to Tae to comment on thoughts with regards music stuff since that's mainly Selan's thing.
So yeah, I'm excited.
Also, asking about timezones is a good question. I don't think timezones might neccessarily cause problems if everyone's posting once daily in general, but it might be handy to know in case of some people overlapping same timezones and needing to wait (i.e. Buns normally waits for me to write a post). I live in the UK too, so GMT (so we're... +1 now cus of daylight savings? I dunno, lol).
What about you Kathi? Whereabouts do you live/what timezone are you? ^^
