Edo-Beatrix
"Oh great, he had to go and say something like that," one of the twins said, bringing a palm to his face. Edo-Beatrix stared at Edo-Damien harshly for a moment before a blush appeared on her face and she brought her hands to her cheeks comically.
"T-t-that's right! I'm his woman! A-and don't you forget that!" She seemed to have missed the insult, but she waved one of her hands through the air and snapped out of her own trance.
"Once all of you are dead and this kingdom is burned to the ground I will be Queen! The people of Edolas will build a new palace! We will work them to the bone! The natural order will be upheld!"
The big man clad in armor let out a sigh.
"You're being delusional again, Beatrix," he commented, earning a scowl from the smaller woman.
"Though Beatrix does have a point. Even if you prove formidable, the end result won't change." Edo-Beatrix returned her gaze to Edo-Damien and Mayt.
"That's right. Don't worry your little head... you... I don't know who you are, but it doesn't matter. Maddox is coming, and no amount of conceited confidence or banding together will save any of you."
She turned to the man clad in armor.
"Grade, you take the big sword guy. I'll take the little sword guy." Then she turned to twins, who at this point both seemed entirely uninterested in what was going on.
"You two take the others." One of them sneered.
"Don't act all high and mighty, you're hardly our boss. And only temporarily." "Shut up and move before I kill you myself!" The silent twin flipped her off and put his hands in his pockets, both twins then casually walking towards the group.
"The power is going to your head, Beatrix," Grade said, causing her to face him.
"And you don't even have power. I'm confused as to why Maddox would send a scout force, though I can somewhat understand that. I cannot fathom, however, why he would put you in charge." The large, armored man lifted the giant blade off his shoulder and let it crash to the ground, shattering it on impact from the weight.
"Your psychological state is questionable and you aren't even top five at the hall. I hope your opponent kills you."
"You shut your mouth before I crush you like the tin can you are!" "Whatever. Run along brat." Edo-Beatrix raised a fist at him, contemplating attacking her own ally before suddenly turning toward Mayt. Her anger with her own squad was now being projected onto him.
"You all dare to mock me and treat me like I'm some kind of joke! I'll show Phoenix Wing! I'll show White Hydra! That I'm...!" She jumped high into the air.
"Not!" Now she pulled her fist back before falling back to the ground at high speed.
"A joke!" Rather than coming down directly on top of Mayt, her fist hit the ground several meters in front of him.
The power from the impact destroyed the ground, creating a large crater and sending stone and tile flying everywhere. The ground even shook violently from the impact, sending cracks all across the courtyard and even up the nearby palace wall. Grade let out a sigh before lowering the mask on his helmet and facing Edo-Damien.
"While the kids play around..." he spoke, lifting his sword off the ground and holding it in both hands.
"The men can fight. I'm no fool and I can see you are strong. You must be worth at least ten points. This will be a good challenge." The large man hefted his sword to his right and made a wide horizontal slash in Edo-Damien's direction, using the reach provided by his long arms and huge sword to put incredible strength and speed behind the swing.
The two twins were hardly noticeable, being they walked around the side of their noisier comrades. The two stopped several meters in front of Sasha and Edo-Jamie.
"To be honest, we're not really fighters," the talking twin confessed, putting his pinky finger in his ear and flicking some wax on the ground.
"So... I dunno. I suppose we'll just watch and see what happens..." The silent twin nodded his head in agreement and turned to face Grade and Beatrix's fights.
Edo-Maddox and Beatrix
Beatrix began to stir, moaning a bit as she awoke.
"Son of a..." The young woman was chained to a wall.
"Why do I feel so..." Her droopiness began wearing off and anger began to form on her face. With a grunt of effort she used her pure strength to shatter the chains holding her legs. With that done she freed her arms by placing her feet on the stone wall and kicking off it like a springboard. Her landing, however, wasn't so graceful. She was still a bit drowsy.
After picking herself up she began examining the room around her.
"This wasn't where they took me before," she remarked out loud.
"I remember being somewhere else before getting knocked out. What did they do to me? They better not have gotten frisky..." A voice came from across the hall.
"Don't worry, they didn't." A door on the dark side of the room opened, revealing Edo-Maddox and two goons behind him.
"We simply borrowed something from you. In fact, we're not done." Beatrix put her fists up, a dead serious glare in her eyes.
"I'll fight you again. I've seen through your-" "Quit wasting my time with your bluffs and shut up."
"We're leaving now. You have an important role. Not very important, but I imagine what little use you have now is more than you ever had or will have in your life," Edo-Maddox told her, his expression unchanging.
"Now are you going to come along nicely or do I have to give you the VIP treatment. It was enjoyable slapping you around before, you know." Beatrix scowled.
Am I really this weak? she thought to herself.
Is all I'm good for really helping this bastard do whatever the hell it is he is doing? Her fists began to lower and she sighed.
"That's a good girl. If you are obedient enough I might let you give you a treat. One day."
Maddox
The red-haired mage looked at Trinity and then the spider-dog.
"We should, yes," Maddox agreed.
"But we may still be of use here. I believe the Magic Council might be able to get everyone back from the Anima." His red eyes looked back towards the crumbling Council building.
"But that is not certain..." He clenched a fist, squeezing it tightly for a moment before releasing it.
"There isn't much we can do... it's frustrating."
