Penny
Penny once more listened to what Damian was saying. She wasn't sure how best to react. Not regretting killing someone wasn't a bad thing, she knew, but being proud? She analysed her own feelings on that, but she had never been good with emotions, never been good with understanding. She had never been proud of killing her father. She never regretted it, either though. He had been trying his hardest to kill her, but two wrongs didn't make a right.
Still, she hadn't been raised as a child solider. She didn't know what that was like, but she knew enough about military types to know that they instilled pride into their warriors. You couldn't, after all, have someone who would break down after their first kill in a battle, and throw the whole thing. Still...she broke in, "The fact that you can regret it, makes you a good person" but her words were probably lost as Damian kept talking.
She watched as he drew his blade, setting it on his lap, seemingly it seemed to draw strength from that simple act. As he continued speaking, Penny froze. [i]"because I love you"]/i]. Had anyone ever said that to her? She imagined her mother must have, but she never remembered it, couldn't remember it. Her father never had. Solias never had, certainly. Not even Sasha. Before, Penny had just assumed that love was nothing, that it was just a word people threw around. But for the last several months, she hadn't been too sure.
Love. The fire wizard sunk down to the floor, before she fell down. She gave a soft sound, that could have been a sob, could have been a cry, or just some random sound. The stupid part was, she had always known, always that somewhere along the line, Damian had probably killed. Swords were dangerous, and Damian skilled. In a way, she had had months to deal with it, and figure out how she felt. Turned out, months was even enough. But there was enough there, enough understanding, and enough of her own experiences for her to get passed that. But how could he love her? She wasn't worthy of any love, and she had to make him understand that. Penny didn't want him to ruin himself for her. No matter how she felt. "You're better then me. I don't regret killing him. All I felt was relief, all I still feel is relief. And I know, I would do it again. And again. because two wrongs might not make a right, but some monsters have to be killed. So how can you love me?" her voice was soft, raw and she bowed her head, waiting for his answer.
Michael
Prince was a flirt, Michael saw that now. It didn't mean he didn't know how to deal with it, or that he would stop blushing. He was so shy, and had rarely had attention like that. But the question was, did Prince do it, just to tease him, or for another reason? Michael was never good at knowing, and thats what had gotten him into trouble previously.
He guessed he would find out.
"D-don't w-w-w-w-w-worry, I c-c-can h-h-hold up m-m-my o=o-own" he managed to stumble out to the guild master, of course not meeting his eyes, but proud all the same that he hadn't whispered. He nodded to Prince, remembering river town from a visit yeas ago.
"it does" he agreed, once more checking his pouch, and satisfied, ready to go, he smiled, glancing around the guild hall, but knowing it would be there when they got back. "lets go"
Gabriel
Gabriel knew that he was a B-Rank wizard, but he didn't care. C rank meant he got in, and meant he had done it himself, he thought. He gave his opponent a smile, and offered his hand for a hand shake, "Thank you kindly for the weapon, and the fight. You're better then my brother, but then, he gets too clumsy and flustered and tends to fall over" He spoke with all the pride a sibling could muster for another, but his expression faded, as he wondered how Michael was doing. Perhaps he should have gone with him, to make ure he was alright.
no, then he'll never learn confidence, if he has to always look to you for guidance. I'm sure he's fine.
"No, thank you. I'm happy as a C rank for now. Perhaps when I get more spirits, I might. And when I have a weapon of my own, that I am use to." Gabriel honestly didn't care what rank he was. He glanced about, and saw that Rat hadn't done as good a job as he had hoped. He gave a sigh, wondering if he had been harsh, and went over to Rat and the girl. He sat down, opposite her and said "Do I have to get dog to come and lick your face, until you smile and laugh? I'm sorry, I just...I couldn't just be tossed out like that, for some stupid thing. My apologies, my lady." he tipped an imaginary hat to her, hoping for some reaction.
Jarvis
Jarvis gave a surprised look at Lucas. He had thought that Lucas was a apart of the guild already, and wondered how he could have over looked that. He gave a smile, and nodded, "Certainly you may join. Im sorry, I thought Jamie had already brought you in. Just a moment" he quickly retrieved the guild marker, glancing to the job board as a job disappeared, taken, he assumed by another guild.
He would have to look at putting more jobs up, it seemed.
He returned to Lucas, "Alright then, where do you want it and what colour?"
