Ike Tsugi

Ike would smile at the rabbit that hopped over and sniffed him. He was such a sweet little guy. "Hey little buddy, wanna send me on home?" Ike said and would extend his hand out, yet when he did the rabbit would grow and become more of a monster than rabbit. It was enough to make Ike jump back and fire off a blast of his energy at the creature due to instincts. Yet it would shrink back down with his energy blast going over it and into the wall, which left a wide hole into one of the hallways. Ike could explain it, yet when the rabbit transformed, he couldn't help but feel utter fear and defeat if he attempted to fight it. "S-stay here." Ike spoke as he started to walk away from him and out the hole he made.

Iron Enigma
Gregory had been about to speak when Jamie got to the punch first, and he let out a quiet sigh and shrugged. "Alright then, you two go talk in the basement and I'll square up my latest bill with the hotel." He started to walk away, but he stopped for a moment to give Jamie a glare that indicates he was treading on dangerous ground at the moment. Shaking his head and returning to the task at hand, Gregory joined Delilah behind the bar with the owner of the hotel, discussing the bill that was to be payed to fix everything back up the way it was supposed to be.

penny

Penny shook her head and sighed "Master Jamie has a lot more reason to be around iron enigma then you, and you know it. He could claim guild master business, whereas all you could claim would be spying. You're just angry because you can't be the damned hero. I just spent several frigging hours playing at being master, and that wasn't bloody easy, so when Master Jamke says or does something that might be considered risky, she damn well has a reason. She will get out, with mithera, and it just annoys you that you can't swoop in and save the day, so when you finally realize that things can get done without you, maybe you'll snap out of this classic drawn your woes in a drink party and act like an adult instead of a child that didn't get his way" Penny was tired, and very nearly on the edge of just losing it.

"have a little faith" she rose, pushing her chair back and started out the bar before she could say anything else she might regret later. All she had wanted was a damn hug, not a fight. She should have just tried to find that other Phoenix slayer, for all the good it would do her. She wouldn't be good to anyone right now, now. "I want you alive, damn it! Not skewered in the end of some blade because you feel like you have to be involved in everything or it will fall apart!" she said as she reached the door, the words just tumbling out as if her mouth had a mind of its own, before shoving the door open, figuring she'd just go to the hotel.

@zarkun

master Jamie

Master Jamie smiled and said "perhaps somewhere without as many ears as a basement can have, I think. A room? In friendly with the manager, I'm sure we can borrow one" without waiting for an answer, Jamie found her way to the manager, speaking with them and soon had a room, looking to the solider and smiling, "shall we?" again, without waiting for an answer Jamie went to a room

Damian Gerard|Pub outside the Arena

Damian didn't say anything in response to Penny, not even her accusation of drowning his woes. If he wanted to drown his woes, he'd be out training, not in here drinking, but that was besides the point. Waiting until she had actually left, he slipped out of his seat and paid the bartender, apologizing for the ruckus before heading back out into the streets. Damian could have had a dozen different reasons for being in Iron Enigma's hotel that wouldn't be questioned right away. This city was full of anti-magic fanatics that were hiding under the majority of people who were accepting of magic again. Plenty of them worked for the Royal Guard and mercenary guilds, all of them were always looking for some excuse.

I'll talk to her later at the hotel, try and smooth things out. I think the two of us are a little too heated to talk it out calmly right now. Spotting an alley way, he took a running start and leaped between the walls, climbing them up onto the rooftops and parkouring back towards the hotel, leaping over alleyways and streets and sliding down inclines. The exercise kept him quick and sharp, and made his reflexes remain sharp. He knew all it would take is one missed ledge and he'd be done fighting for a long time. As he jumped over one of the alleys closer to the hotel, he caught a hanging bit of rope and swung over the gap, landing on the adjacent roof at a roll. Standing, he took a deep breath and looked over the edge, seeing if Penny had beat him there or if he had been the faster of the two. Odds were he was there first by just a few more seconds. Still he took the time to sit down and look over what he could see of the city.

Even a hundred years later, some places still bore the scars of the past, a courtyard near their hotel nothing more tan a big scorch mark from a dragon's fire that refused to be rebuilt on. It was a reminder of what happened if magic wasn't controlled by those who could wield it and if magic was manipulated in the wrong way. He sat like this, unaware of if any of his guildmate's who'd left the Games early as well would see him.

Penny only stopped to get a lacrima that was tuned to the games, spending a fortune on something that should only have been a handful of money, but not wanting to haggle right then, she curled her hands over it, she nudged the hotel door open with a foot, and slid inside, not stopping she went to her room, wincing as she saw the vase had been replaced and she hadn't paid for it yet.

She sighed, and placed the lacrima screen on the bed, thinking to check it later and see if the next battle had started, knowing one of their teams would be in it. She stood for a minute, looking about the room. Sometimes everything seemed to just...be too much. She knew she had probably been too...heated, but...she should be allowed to be, shouldn't she? She wanted those she cared about alive,

Some of kt perhaps was the simple fact that she could protect those she cared about, but she wasn't being allowed to, and that frustrated her to no end. When she was a kid, she couldn't protect herself let alone anyone else, and her adoptive mother paid the price. Weary of it all, Penny let herself flop onto the bed, grabbing the lacrima, and setting it so it wouldn't roll off.

What was she meant to do, from here?

Dornae Namari - The Luckless Enchanter
Theme I/|\Theme II/|\Theme III

Having asked around slightly to find a decently priced clothing store, Dornae entered the building and began looking around for something fairly simple. It didn't need to be attention getting, in fact it was best if it wasn't. It took him several minutes to find something that both matched what she'd asked him for, and to find one that wasn't overly showy or expensive. Finally, several minutes having passed, he picked out a green dress. However, as he approached the counter it suddenly occurred to him that she wouldn't have any undergarments. He turned away from the woman who was working as clerk, who promptly raised an eyebrow, and walked deeper into the store.

This had suddenly become much more awkward than he thought it would be. Why hadn't he thought of this before? Then again, thinking of it before would've meant he'd have had to ask Mithera about it. Finding himself in the section for such...clothing, he swallowed hard, a worried look knitting his brows together.

It would take him a whole four minutes on top of his two minute search for the dress, to finally pick out a set of matching bra and panties. He felt very...dirty, for some reason. Mithera was going to be paying him double for dealing with this.

Turning around and swiftly getting to the counter he placed the clothes down and extracted his coin purse. The woman's eyebrow was still raised and every so often she gave him an appraising, somewhat suspicious and somewhat curious look. He pointedly avoided her gaze, which only made her look more. She stated the price and he extracted the coins, almost managing not to drop the coins on the floor. He gave her an awkward look before he bent down, picked them up, and placed them on the counter. "Sorry..." he almost muttered, this was not doing his nerves any favors.

Then it got worse. "So, what lucky lady is getting these, mmm?" The woman asked, her tone a mixture of curiosity and something Dornae could only translate as judgmental. He felt his stomach drop as he swallowed hard, then responded, "My g-girlfriend and I went swimming nearby...someone stole her underclothes while we enjoyed ourselves in the pool. She ripped her dress on the way back so I'm getting her a new one," he smiled at her awkwardly as he practically lied through his teeth. The words may have been false, but his awkwardness sold the story. The woman smiled knowingly and nodded, handing him his change, "Thanks," he said in reply as she, in practiced motions, folded the dress around the undergarments and then put the dress in a small bag. He took it, grateful to be done with the scenario. Stepping towards the door he suddenly stopped.

He'd been so flustered he hadn't even noticed someone with...rather considerable magical energy stop outside the door soon after he'd entered. The man had been there the whole time. At first he considered asking the clerk if there was another exit, but he realized how suspicious that would be, not to mention the fact that the person would, if they didn't already, know for certain that he was trying to evade them.

He wasn't sure what was worse, their knowledge or him possibly being caught. So he decided to compromise. Deftly he focused his energies into his sheathed catalyst, infusing it with the properties he'd need. He made sure the first thing he did was cause the magical energy to hide itself; the second trait would be a personal shield; the third a wave of 10 second amnesia and nausea; the fourth was a modifier to the shield, which would cause it to burst off of his form if Dornae willed it. Finally, the fifth facilitated all of them, deciding under what circumstances the other effects would activate. The wave of forgetfulness would be activated only if he saw no other way to get out of the situation. The "hidden," effect would remain constant until he made a break for it. This made it impossible to detect the magics he had prepared. Quickly he drew a rune on his dagger and it picked up traces of the man's ethernano. He then used this and programmed it into the hidden effect. When the effect broke, namely after all the other effects activated it would cause the effect to release an explosion of light and sound associated with the man's magical energy. Authorities would have eye witnesses to confirm that he had 'attacked,' Dornae and it would provide him with another good reason to get out of the situation.

Hopefully it wouldn't come to that.

Finishing, he waved to the woman and pushed the door open as he exited the building. Nothing in his demeanor betrayed that he knew the man was waiting for him. He seemed almost at ease actually, though the opposite was true. Nonetheless, he'd had to learn how to seem like you were one thing, when you were truly another. Being a chameleon was simply a good thing to be when you needed to hide...and he'd had to hide before.

Hopefully this wouldn't escalate.

Grant Vale
Grant would smile softly as the odd man walked back out of the store, and in a moment he had stood up and grabbed the man's shoulder. "Hey there, I have a question," he said, leaning on Dornae's shoulder a bit hard, but he didn't wait for a response. "How do you do that hidey think where people don't notice you? It's neat, and, I'd assume, very useful. Mind tellin' me where you learned it from? Or if it's something simple, how to do it?" He grinned, and his voice conveyed genuine curiosity. It seemed he didn't suspect Dornae at all.

Gregory Vale
As Master Jamie head off to another room, Gregory suddenly turned and shouted to him. "If you truly want absolutely nobody possibly listening or watching in, my room or my son's room would be best." He'd roll his eyes and turn back to the owner of the hotel, who raised an eyebrow but said nothing about what he had just shouted back. The Guild Master started counting all the cash in his wallet, hoping that he might have enough to pay the price they had agreed upon, and looking very disgruntled.

Ayame

Crocus Streets

Nero - Eve

Ayame felt somewhat relief Eve could talk again. They wouldn't have any big conversations with each other but she was at least happy there wouldn't be such an awkward silcence all the time. Regardless of dropping the paper Eve still picked it up and placed it into her pocket while still thanking Ayame. Ayame had a startled look on her face before she could look away from the girl to hide her embarrassment from the compliment of the girl. She gently smiled and hid herself behind Nero again. She lightly holded the back of Nero his shirt with her bandaged hands so she wouldn't lose him while walking and followed into his steps down the street. Eve walked right besides them as they made their way down the many streets of crocus looking for a resting place. She had seen multiple pubs ans bars but Nero wasn't intrested in them it seemed. They looked alright and all but he still avoided them for some reason.

A short while later they suddenly stopped as Nero caught hold of a desired place to rest. Ayame looked at the cafe and wondered what they meant with ice cream. She had a vague picture in her mind of frozen water covered in whipped cream. Must have been a delicacy in Crocus or something. Nero made some puns together with Eve making Ayame chuckle a little with her hand in front of her mouth to hide it as much as possible. She walked from behind Nero his back and stood in front of them already walking over to the door of the cafe "I-it's pret-ty chill o-outside. So let's head i-inside before we freeze to d-death." She lightly smiled at the two and went into the cafe.

Isla

Painting Booth

Indigo

Isla was squirming on the ground as Indigo walked away from her. She was trying to get up but, the numb feeling in her leg was causing some disorientation problems. She kept trying to stand up but kept on falling. Before Indigo was completly gone from her vision she said something to the helpless girl. Isla gritted her teeth and saw Indigo off before punching randomly and kicking wildly around with her usable leg "God damn it!" She scared the last few remaining people around the painting booth away and set herself up right with help of the tree. She had to think up a plan to get all these paintings back to her appartment again. Without leg the task was even harder. She broke off a part of her easel to make a walking stick and used it to get her equipment together with difficulties. She took off on the hope that her paintings would remain for the time being and lightly dragged her leg along with her on the way to find help. She hoped someone would approach her at least or maybe she could find a strong looking man somewhere close by her booth so he could carry a few.

Rabbit

Kingdom Painting

Ike

As soon as the rabbit turned normall again it would jump after Ike, following him around the castle waiting to be pet or touched at least. Whenever Ike would touch it next it would stay a monster for a longer period of time. It would keep on dashing towards Ike, destroying walls and other stuff in the progress. When it would be close enough to Ike it would try to punch him with his gigantically big fist.

ENMA

Not only did this bastard spit out the drink he offered him, he spat it all over Enma. The oni's eye twitched as his shadow loomed over Argus like a monolith. "In my village it is rude to spit out alcohol that someone offered you. Spitting it on the person that gave you the drink is like insulting a warrior's mother. Spitting it on a person who is your brother in arms is a sin." He cracked his knuckles, which popping loudly like boulders smashing against the ground. If there was a time for anyone to be afraid it would be to be afraid of a nearly seven foot tall oni covered in spat rum with a short fuse. While he was overreacting Argus' reaction, his village's traditions were ingrained in him and even now he still followed them.

He almost didn't seem to realize that the strange cat woman was with them. Again he forgot what he was mad about and he turned to her with a wide teasing grin. "The only furry you seem to like is Kilo." He snickered in amusement.

@Oblivion666
ZEV

"Tch, and I doubt Loki is going to be spilling the beans anytime soon. Gods and dragons are such fickle creatures." He chuckled. While speculating about the motives about these mysterious almighty beings it would be best to change the topic to something a bit more casual. "The games have been pretty interesting though some of those mages scare the hell out of me, including Ammy! She may be beauty, but hot damn I don't think it would be best for me to do anything stupid around her, sober or not." Zev laughed though they both knew it was very true.

@Caits
FERRIS

He couldn't help but laugh a bit. "Heh, I wish that was the case! The real issue here is the absurd power gap between someone like me and someone like Indigo. Don't get me wrong I was once an A-Class mage in my old guild so I'm fairly confident in my abilities though it would take a monster to defeat her." Ferris leaned back in his seat and he winked at her. "Looking forward to it. Tonight's gonna be a fun night."

@CirusArvennicus
RILEY
“W-wait a minute! That escalated really quickly!” Riley took a step back in surprise. He wouldn't have expected his sister to make such a proposition like this so suddenly, especially about their careers. It's not like he didn't want to talk about magic though to quit his job to create an upstart magazine. It would be awesome, but it was certainly a risky move. It would had to be the biggest impulse decision to ever make. He pushed his hair out of his eyes and exhaled. "I mean, it would be amazing though are you feeling alright? I thought I was the reckless idiot and you were the smart levelheaded sibling?" He laughed awkwardly. He wanted to do it though he was completely off-guard.

@zarkun
Penny knew that the games were running ate today, but was surprised when she glanced out the window to see that the sun was setting, light rapidly fading. Sunset had always been her favorite time-her reasoning being that more people took for granted the sun was going to set, and she found it more precious then a sun rise.

Her eyes moved from the window as her glance slid across the room, before frowning, gaze flicking back to the window. Should she be surprised, to see Damian sitting the roof top? She wasn't, and she recognized that less then a year ago it would have been, but unusual sights had become the norm these last several months.

She gave a sigh, placing the lacrima down, and sitting up, wondering if she should do something now. Did this count as the first move, or was Damian just...there. She hesitated, as she rise unsure if wbat to do, staring out the windon

announcer Jessie

Jessie was sure there was something else going on here. But she decided to go along with kt, and she smiled, leaning back in her chair. "oh, I know what kind of fun you have, Ferris. Shall I show you what fun I have tonight?" she asked almost cheekily

Joshua could only laugh at Amaya's dilemma, though he also felt a bit sad for her. Having to conflicting interests was annoying and choosing which one to go with was a total hassle. Getting up, he moved over to her side of the table and sat next to her.
"Hey now, don't get so down about this. You should smile." He said before he began tickling her.

Lucus Griffonbane

@Amaya Yashia

Lucus chuckled as he watched Elyse eat and play with her food and her mother. The two naturally drew a bit of attention since they were both participants in the games and from opposing guilds. Some came over out of curiosity, others for autographs or photos, and others would simply watch and wonder what the two were doing together with a child.

Dornae Namari - The Luckless Enchanter
Theme I/|\Theme II/|\Theme III

In response, Dornae started, appearing surprised. He took a step away before relaxing as the man asked him a series of fairly simple questions. After the man had finished, Dornae opened his mouth, then closed it, frowning slightly. He was a bit perplexed really, but nonetheless he took it in stride and spoke, sounding a bit awkward as he did so. "Well, with a bit of memorization you might be able to learn it, but it's not all that simple really...haha." Then, it hit him, this was the man he'd seen participating int he Grand Magic Games earlier...wasn't he part of the same Guild that they had rescued Mithera from?

With his attuned senses he noticed the slight traces of the mana from some of the members of Iron Enigma. He was spooked, but he managed not to show it. "It's basically a form of rune magic, really. Kind of a complex combination of various symbols to generate a given effect. I'd teach it to you, but I'm really not much of a teacher," he lied an awkward and apologetic smile on his face.

He was hoping the man wouldn't press him further...or try to follow him when he left. Not that he'd try yet. Walking away would be stupid at the moment. First he needed to finish the conversation, anything less would make him seem suspicious after all.

Argus Leandros

Argus nodded along as Ni answered his questions, but it was clear from the expression on his face that he wasn't completely understanding of the second half of what she was talking about. Before he could respond, likely in the form of more questions, Enma decided to speak up again, the anger in his voice clear as day as it appeared Argus had insulted the Oni in some way. Gulping slightly, Argus took a step back, but then blinked in even greater confusion as the big guy turned his attention back to Ni, almost as if he hand't been mad to begin with. How can someone go from broiling over with rage to calm as can be with in seconds of that? Well, weird as it is, I'm not complaining.

Whatever Ni's reaction to Enma's tease, Argus wouldn't hear it as he looked around, still feeling a heightened sense of apprehension in the arena. He just couldn't help but feel as if he was going to be tossed back into that pit, forced to fight for the amusement of the savage, blood-thirsty crowd. It gave him shivers, and he decided that it'd be best for him to leave soon. Nice as his guild mates were, he couldn't help but feel that, under these conditions, he'd do something stupid and get into a fight with one of them. Hell, he almost had gotten in a fight with the big Oni, and that had been an accident.

"Hey guys, I'm going to go, not really that interested in watching the games, but I'd appreciate it if either of you guy's would like to join me. If you don't, I'd understand, probably don't want to miss the . . . fight." He had to physically stop himself from saying 'slaughter', which was the term he the slaves had often used to describe the fights cause that's what happened more times than not. This was obviously very different from what he went through, for the most part, but he just had some issues with the idea gladiatorial combat that he was sure he'd never get over. Whether the two came or not, he'd start walking out, giving a wave good-bye to whoever was staying behind.

After leaving the arena, he'd walk around the area outside of it, taking in the sites, and feeling just a little bit better. What'd really make me feel better is a good prank, but to do that, I need some victims. Hmmmmm? Looking around, he soon spotted a building across the way, some form of restaurant it seemed. Always a good place to make some mischief. The plan already set in motion, Argus sprang into action, forgetting whoever was with him behind as he acted solely on impulse. He'd spring up the side of the building until reaching the roof, opening one of the windows slowly and silently to get a look for possible targets inside. After a while he quickly found a table and a likely target, a girl with black hair and glasses who was eating with a few others.

She'll be a good place to start . . . He thought as he quickly re-quipped two needles into his hand. With a whispered death, he cast Divine Blessing on them, imbuing hem with the destructive energy of his magic, which was currently set to default mode. Once that was done, he'd launch the needles into the back of the glasses girl's chair, causing a transfer of the energy from the needles to the chair legs. Before long, they'd be weakened enough that they wouldn't be able to support her weight anymore, sending her tumbling down to the floor faster than she could say "Huh?". Argus made sure to stay low, s as to minimize his change of being seen, but he'd left the window open and one could still see the upper half of his head as he looked down at the scene if they looked long enough.

Grant would nod, thinking, before pulling a piece of paper out of his pocket. "You could draw it on this without using magic right? That way I don't really have to trouble you with having to spend the time to teach me and I can learn it on my own time and not have to bother you neh?" He smiled, clearly enthusiatic about learning a new trick.

Marlene Evangeline

This Shujin person was inviting both Sasha and Lazarus to give him some puzzling looks. Believe it or not, it was at that time where Marlene really realized that he tagged along too. Again, she can sometimes not notice stuff in the calm and was slightly puzzled to know who he was. However, she would feel a slight breeze (Divine Blessing) fill the room, giving her a slight uneasy feeling. But before she could look and see where this person would be, her chair gave out! Unable to support her weight, Marlene tumbles down with a loud yelp, almost smacking her head on the floor. With a grunt she gets up rubbing her head and looking around.

"Wha... What the~?" she groans as she looks around the room, "What happened?"

However, she soon realizes that this was no coincidence. This was a planned prank of some sort! Or even worse... AN ATTACK! And someone was hiding around nearby. Suddenly, she looks up to see the skylight open and what appears to be half of a head just peaking out. Aha! That must be the culprit! Her eyes begin to gleam its emerald hue as her rystal make power was beginning to get rilled up. Her left hand turns into what seems to be a battering ram, made from pink quartz. Now it was Marlene's turn to 'prank' this guy. She quietly, yet fiercely whispers:

"Crystal Make: Battering Ram!"

Marlene's fist aims at the window as she makes a magnificent leap towards the culprit as the battering ram should hit the person's forehead, while probably chipping off some wood and tiles, hard enough that he should fall off the roof. Marlene would stand triumphantly as she still keeps that crystal battering ram at her disposal.

"Joke's on you punk!" she shouts at him as she wonders what he may do next.

Habriel
@Raijinslayer@Lmpkio

Gabriel had spent a miserable few hours just walking around, annoyed, angered and extremely frustrated. He was just so tired of being ignored. Even when joining frenzy plant, he had been ignored, and so far, he had only done one job with anyone else in the guild. No one seemed to notice him, and that just made him feel like nothing. And now Michael was saying he was immature. Angry. What was he meant to do?

He muttered and grumbled to himself, stalking down the street, not noticing much around him until a commotion caught his eye, and he watched what seemed to be a battle happening. In the streets. Of a major city. Where there was probably thousands of people. He stared at it, shocked. "Hey! What's going on here?"

Master Jamie
@Crimson Raven

Jamie led the investigating solider to a room, whistling a happy tune as if nothing was wrong, and shutting te door. He made sure no one could eves drop, before sitting down at a small table. Jamie waited for the other man to do the same, content, before speaking.

"I would like to say first off, that anything that happened here, was not the action of my guild. Or rather, I knew nothing of it. Of course, if I had got here first, something similar could have happened. Iron Enigma kidnapped one of my members, and I intended to get her back. it seems I was too late to the party" Jamie said, musingly. "This isn't the first incident Another of my members was kidnapped. You're guards are sorely in need of some training""

Prince

Prince listened curiously as Michael turned toward him and started speaking, naming a couple things that seemed to be on the boy's mind. The tall feline gave a singsong hum before smiling brightly. "Awe Mikey, don't be down. I missed the fight as well but I'm sure Zeph will fill us in with glorious detail story of his amazing fight. As for your brother, well siblings tend to get into spats. It's normal. As long as you make up. If you feel bad about it, go and apologize. He may be mad at you even still after that but he will know and I'm sure he will forgive you. You're only a terrible friend if you don't try for it." the feline smiled ecouragingly.

Karn

Karn yawned a little, rubbing the sleep from his eyes with his little paws as he listened to Trinity as she coddled him. Before they perked straight up as she mentioned his sickness and he instantly flattened them. "I don't know what you're talking about." Karn said before almost growling as he heard Prince had spoiled everything.

"Claire always lies." Karn interjected stubbornly as he glanced away. But sighed as it seemed it was already too late to keep playing dumb on the matter. He would have to give Prince a piece of his mind later.

"I didn't say anything because you all would do exactly that. Try to find some impossible cure. If Master Rian couldn't do it, you can't. Because no matter what, once fate marks you as dead, your dead. You cannot deny life and death that easily. And I died. I'm only living off of Master Rian's life now and she's only delaying the inevitable and sucking away at her own life force. And because of that she's going to die too. The closest your going to get in saving me is letting me die, and then asking a Necromancer to make my body a animated corpse or have my soul be bound in this world. Everything is broken. My body, my spirit, my soul, my will..... I can't anymore. It hurts. It hurts. I just want to rest and I'm tired of people being dissapointed and sad. I don't want to continue anymore. Everyone... Is dying accept for me. I don't deserve it. Mother... Rian... Hemlock..... Ru.. Everyone... So when the time comes. Just let me go. Accept my fate. Or your just going to get hurt." he said giving a heavy sigh before flapping his wings and flew out of her arms. Landing on top of a light post.

Trinity Stratos

Trinity watched as Karn flew out of her arms, to perch and watch her from out of her reach. It must have been very difficult to live through all that death, just so he could live a little longer. She glanced aside and spotted Nero, just the person she was looking for. "I don't know, Karn. Did any of those people have a wish from a genie?" She wanted to get him on board. "Maybe, if we hurry, we can save your Master Rian?" That, she had the feeling, was not true. If she was feeding Karn her life force, and Karn was about to die, then she was likely at the end of her rope. Karn probably knew that, too.

"There he is, c'mon." Trinity waves Karn to follow, before approaching Nero, waving wide over her head. "Nero! It's been a while, how are ya?" She smiles softly, though she would be very brief with her pleasantries.

After giving the other mage a beat to respond, she cut to the chase. "I was actually looking for you. I have a favor to ask. Could I possibly change my wish?" She looks up at Karn, letting her worry show before she turns back to Nero. "My friend has a strange illness. For some time now, he's been living off of another's vital power, while his organs deteriorate and he suffers. Some say he's simply fated to die." She takes a slow breath, drawing upon her determination before she faces Nero again. "It's too cruel. I wish this cruel fate away, with his illness, so that he may have a long and healthy natural life, without anymore sacrifices. Can you do that, Nero?"

Jasmine, from Black Forge Monthly

Hah, he bit that easily. Alright, then, it was just a matter of reassuring him. She'd need his reckless enthusiasm. "Yes, well, I always was more of the planner. I have a plan, and it needs you to be on-board. Where else am I going to get so many enthusiastic articles on short notice? We'll need to get printing and the money for our first issue lined up. I think I can handle the matter of our printer, but we might have to co-sign for a loan. Would you be alright with that?"

Mercury Marowit – Frenzy Camp

@Invisible Man

Invisible? ”Great,” Mercury mumbled as he hefted his kamas. Nevertheless, he continued to look from side to side in quick succession, as if his personal acuity could pierce whatever hex hid the enemies from the naked eye. When Magni fell under attack, Mercury hopped forward and swung upward with both weapons, but hit nothing. The blades of his arms slashed through mere air, and Mercury growled in frustration. Clearly, it was up to him and Hyun. By downing Magni, however, the enemies had made it personal, and ushered in their own destruction. No soldier of Frenzy Plant would allow their ally to be struck down on their watch, particularly Mercury--to do so was to embrace personal failure. Magni's shout alerted him, and he rushed toward his seven o'clock with a frenzied yell, but again his kamas failed to connect. ”Bitch dodged me!” he roared, ”He thinks he's so much better than me 'cuz he's an inch taller! But he's don't appreciate my ability to hit everything!” The next instant Mercury launched himself into a wild and berserk slew of attacks in every direction, weak but fast, turning into a whirlwind of rage and steel.

Meanwhile, Hyun stood still, a single blade poised horizontally above her head. At some point during the last minute, she'd discarded her hairband, and now her brown locks blew freely in the wind. Her eyes were shut and her breathing was deep and rhythmic. Looking at her, one could be forgiven for assuming that she was trying to pinpoint the locations of her adversaries via sound, but she'd heard Magni's warning loud and clear. With neither her eyes nor ears of any use to her, Hyun now relied upon a third sense to reveal the enemy to her: touch. Though more hidden than a master shinobi, and more silent than an owl's tomb, the people who attacked Magni could not avoid churning the air around them as they moved through it. ”I can feel it with my hair,” she whispered. ”I can feel it on my skin, and in the rustle of my clothes...” Motionless, she waited, but not for long. Slowly, the edges of her mouth curved into a smile. ”That telltale wind!” Springing off her feet, Hyun lunged to her right, swinging her katana in a ruthless horizontal slice, a deadly crescent moon.

Ni Rensa – Restaurant Exterior

@lmpkio@raijinslayer@hatakekuro@caits

Like someone had flicked a switch, Ni Rensa's face turned beet red. Her claws balled into spiky fists, her tail went straight as an arrow, and even her pigtails seemed agitated. For a few moment she fumed silently, unable to articulate words, and when she finally spoke it was with utmost scorn. ”Y-you moronya! I'm nyot...! I don't...! Kilo's just a big nyincompoop. B-barely even knyows how to use an axe, yet I'm stuck on his team! He's got more meat for brains than he has for muscle, and have you seen that guy? Eats like a t-total pig! No wonder he's like sevenya feet tall. How could anyone like him?! Especially me. 'Cuz I don't like him! At all! And he's not evenya a furry, you dumbo! If he goes around thinking we're like, a pair or something, and we're nyot, it's because he likes me as a person and not because I'm a War Sphinx! How dare you evenya? Idiot!”

It occurred to Ni suddenly that Argus was nowhere to be found. After scanning every direction with tawny gold eyes, she turned back to Enma and glared at him ferociously despite being substantially shorter than him at a mere 4ft 11 inches. ”Now where's he gone? Come and help me find him. Looks like they've abolished arenya fightinya anyway.”

The two rushed off, as much as an Oni and a War Sphinx could. Fortunately, the extended pause in the Games had resulted in a thinned crowd and easy navigation. In no time, Ni and Enma arrived at the restaurant into which Argus had intruded, just in time to see him plummet from the roof into the street and Marlene appear beside him. ”What? He's gottenya into a scrape alread...whoa!” Ni Rensa swerved to avoid ramming into a familiar figure in blue. The sudden motion led to her placing her bladed heel in a poor position, and immediately afterward, Ni tumbling to the ground, winded and gasping. It took only a second for her to regain her footing with catlike precision, and only after did she recognize the individual. ”Hey hey hey, it's Gabe! So sorry about that, I nyearly clocked ya! You okay?” Speedily, Ni patted him over, checking for cuts and bruises. He seemed fine—physically, at least. His downcast expression told a different story for his psyche. ”Is...is there something wrong?”

Argus and Marlene, of course, had been forgotten for the time being, leaving that problem to Enma.

Nero the Genie – Bold Tone Creamery

@liferusher@invisible man

Still grinning, Nero held open the door for his friends, and observed the other points of interest around the street all the while. He'd just turned back to follow Eve and Ayame in when a female voice called his name. Immediately Nero froze, his mind racing to recollect exactly who those tones belonged to. Despite his best efforts, he could not identify the voice before the approaching footsteps behind him signaled the arrival of the time to turn around. The Genie spun on his left heel, his purple cape flapping in the faint breeze, and beheld a face totally unknown to him. Of course, if this girl knew his name, he'd known her at some point...how could he have forgotten, particularly a young lady with white hair and heterochromia of all things? Heh, that's easy, he rationalized internally, smiling at the new arrival all the while. I've only got eyes for one chick now. Rather than a personal greeting, Nero resorted to a less-specific, ”Ah, hello again! Yeah, it's been ages. One sec!” He peeked into the interior of Bold Tone Creamery and called to his companions, ”You ladies find out what ice cream ya want. I'll take anything. If you're fresh outta dough, just wait a minute.”

The parlor door slowly swung shut, leaving the Genie and the Bard alone. Nero leaned against the colorful brick wall of the building, hands behind his head in thoroughly relaxed position. ”Wish? Sure, I got wishes for days.” A few moments passed, with the wind and the steady chatter of man and animal alike in the background playing accompaniment to Trinity's voice. In the course of her explanation, Nero happened to partially see her left clavicle, and the marker there that identified her as a member of Phoenix Wing. At that, he needed to put in substantial effort to avoid rolling his eyes. Not much remained from his experience at Phoenix Wing several months ago, but everyone he did manage to remember he certainly didn't like. When Trinity was done, he replied, ”Fate? Bologna. Dudes who say ya can't escape fate just don't have the power to change their lives. Then again, death comes for us all now and again, huh? Anyway, maybe I got something in my bag of tricks to help this sick person. Affliction, Augmentation, Manifestation, whichever it takes, I can help. Let me tell ya though: I'm not doin' this for free. I fix this dudeman, he owes me. Or you do. Phoenix Wing types are all about sacrificin' for one another, right? Find Sickie McGee and bring 'em to me in like ten minutes. I'm busy at the moment."

Without brooking any further comment from Nero, he went into the parlor, effectively dismissing her for the time being. Hastily he made his way over to his companions, dealt with the ice cream situation, and settled down with Eve and Ayame to enjoy a tasty treat. About five minutes in, a thought struck him. The very idea of it caused his pale skin to flush and his black eyes to shine. For some time now, there'd been something he wanted to do. Could now be the time? Trying to suppress his eagerness, Nero cleared his throat and spoke in a conversational tone to Eve. ”Hey, Eve. D'you mind if I...there's a sort of magical spell I'd like to try. It'll change ya a bit, but it's only temporary, unless, um, you say otherwise. Should be a fun, interestin' sorta experience. And it's totally safe. You up for something like that?”
