Oh, man. I saw this thread and couldn't not mention Jackson Murphy.

On the old site (and continuing onto the new one) for at least a year or two, I was involved with a Walking Dead-universe (non-canon characters) RP. Though my two main characters were very good people, the RP was missing a huge component: an antagonist. The group central to the RP had survived many a horde or zombies, and needed something new. That's when I came up this gang of marauders new to the area. The group was large, equipped with military-grade equipment, and utterly ruthless. Their leader, Jackson, was the worst.

In my opening post for him, he has a father and his three sons tied up in an abandoned office building. He demands to know where the family has their supplies stashed, and shoots one of the sons through the heart when the father doesn't answer. However, he promises to let him live if he tells the gang. Then, when he finally does give the location, he shoots the other two sons (body shots, so they will re-animate), and leaves the father blindfolded, and bound by the wrists in the office building and locks the door behind him. He fulfilled his promise and didn't kill him: he left the man's dead sons to do the job.

In another story about him, the gang catches a thief trying to take some of their supplies. Jackson takes the guy and nails him to a tree. Then, he takes a few walkers, cuts off their arms, and damages their jaws, and sicks them on the guy. Long story short, the dude dies a slow, agonizing death while these handicapped walkers gnaw and scrape with their upper jaws. To finish this touching tale, Jackson kills the walkers and leaves the re-animated corpse of the thief nailed to the tree, with a sign that says "This is what we do to thieves" attached to him.

So yeah... That's the only *bad* character I've ever played.

The Walking Dead has to be the best setting for RPing sadistic characters. I want to join one soon.

Interesting thread haha ^^

I feel like maybe my characters haven't been as 'evil' as some of the psychopaths on here, cos there's usually some mitigating reason for their behaviour... I guess I like to 'get into the bad guy's psyche' like that. There have been a couple deplorable incidents though:

- I have a recurring character, Lera, who appears in modern-day plots about ESP/psychokinetic wars. As a lackey in her organisation who goes out to do the dirty work, she regularly breaks people's limbs to cause them enough pain to stop them from using their powers, including those of children. This is a universe where talented ESP'ers can stop bullets but always only just, so she's very trigger-happy as well. Again, especially with children. Her main redeemer is that the violence is mostly a product of brainwashing.

- Weird one with a main character who was supposed to be one of the 'good guys': I always like to play a bit of moral ambiguity into my main characters, so this one started showing himself as increasingly sociopathic towards the end of the plot. Modern-day fantasy again; in a twist of heroism, the character has one of the nominal 'bad guys' cornered in a winning fight. Maybe you think he's going to take the enemy into captivity or else the enemy makes a stupid disney-esque attempt to attack the main character and gets shot in self-defence... nope. Main character simply holds an affable conversation as he shoots his victim in a variety of non-lethal places, basically torturing her to death.

- Last one is a supporting character I've played a couple of times, who is supposed to be a kind of leery pansexual pervert. (NOTHING wrong with pansexuality in my personal opinion, btw, it's just a coincidence). Anyway his line is that he always hits on/harasses at least *one* of his inferiors during any rp, although I guess the worst offences would be the paedophilic ones with kids and young teens, and then the beating them when they're not obedient. =/ Ripped off one kid's fingernail.

Lets see, On another website I played a Nazi Doctor. You know how that went.
I've played Satan before. (Temporary.)
I've roleplayed as a Paladin who started out pure, then just turned into this Tyrant who killed everyone. He had his own wife killed first.
And finally, A Sociopathic horseman of the apocalypse. (Pestilence, Plague.) Who Didn't spread disease, but just shot everyone he met.

Honestly, the worst character I have probably played is the sex crazed SS officer I was in a roleplay years ago. The details about him are quite vague now, but I do remember him sleeping with several inmates at the concentration camp he was working at. I hate Nazis and everything they stood for, but part of the fun of roleplaying is exploring ideas and characters different from your own.

My charachter Mr Fox has so far killed someone in cold blod each post he has been in. One was lit on fire, the other was just cut up. He is a sociopath with a hardon for carnage. So he will kill plenty more. Oh, and he bombed a pub during the time of night where there was the most activity on the streets outside.

One of the worst things I have tried to do in an RP, was in a zombie RP, and deemed too traumatizing for a child - who was allowed as a character in an RP with zombies trying to kill her and everyone else.

What was it? Found a girl who had been affected, but not turned. My character,a gangbanger released from jail during the whole deal, had an idea. It was to have the original girl kill the infected girl, before she went full Zombie. I was told that was too traumatizing for a kid, especially since part included them becoming friends prior to it.

Worst I've played was an ageless paladin that thought that all evil actions were really good and all good actions were evil. He thought sex was bad but rape was the epitome of love. He deemed murder the just and good thing to perform...constantly. He found thievery an art and demon worship the utmost reverence. He publicly called all good deities frauds and not in the people's best interests. He even enslaved clerics of good gods to "persuade" them to join him.

It was his own personally developed moral code.

Well, there was the one time in Second Forum-era Precipice that I shanked the "president" of one of the post-czar Russian factions in Chinese prison over an apple, and in part factored into the more total state destruction of Russia.

I've noticed that a lot of these characters are more of archetypes from RP-to-RP. I haven't quite seen any as in depth as the two as I described.

Well the president I killed wasn't deep either. I was retiring his character for good because the guy who played him decided to surrender him over under pressure and then disappeared awkwardly. And I didn't have any intentions of using the assassin for anything more beyond that.

I'm trying to raise my own bar.

The most evil person I've played is actually one of my favorite characters I have ever made. It was for an Infamous based RP and I thought it would be fun to bring back one of my favorite enemy fractions from the Infamous games which were the Reapers. So I created a character that was the new head of the Reapers who is basically a mix up of a ton of insane and psychotic characters I could think of that I have seen and enjoyed over the years. Like The Joker, Vaas Montenegro, Kreig, Ripper Roo, Mama (Dredd movie), and etc. Put that in one big melting pot and you get:

Scorn

A person who as a child was a shy and timid girl but after one tragic event loses any form of that innocence and became a cold, calculative, psychotic killer. She'll do anything to get her way and nothing will stop her.
I still enjoy using her from time to time for other RPs since I can change a few things and make her work with them.

Honestly? The worst I can recall was an NPC/filler type recurring comic relief in a Pokemon roleplay chatroom, a parrot named Ludwig. He wasn't dislikeable, but he hung around fights waiting for characters to die so that he could lightheartedly harvest their organs. Ludwig often turned up with mafia ties and regularly attempted to sell illicit drugs, and died very often.

I think you can tell that I prefer the top two layers of the alignment system.

I had a character who claimed he was a vigilante, indeed his targets were evil men, but he had a passion for fire, and was not above torture for information. Basically, my intro involved body horror as he cut the eyelids, fingers, toes, etc off a criminal to find out where a a drug lord was, all the while laughing and just enjoying himself as he mentally played with the dude. Oh, then he burned him alive. Turned out he was at the top of an apartment building, mostly full of civilians. That didn't stop him, he burned the place to the ground in a manner in which nobody escaped. Women, children, pets. They all died in the fire he set. He also gunned down the fire truck that was on its way to help put the fire out. So yea. Not a particularly nice guy. His past wasn't even really tragic enough to justify losing his mind like he had.

I tend to avoid excessively "evil" or demented characters, typically because they don't fit with the rps I join. The one that sticks out the most to me was a character in a GoT rp from a while ago. He was the young lord (17? 18?) of the Skagosi. Their liege lord, House Stark, recently had the audacity to mention that they should start paying their taxes. My character responded by raiding some small villages, taking prisoners, then (off scene mind you) raped them as part of a ritual which ended with some cannalbization. Maybe a dozen or so men, women, and children that were captives. He also kidnapped one of the Stark girls, leading to her impregnation. It was a bit over the top, but the North called for a big baddy that wouldn't be all that hard to take out. Plus, lore-wise, the guy fulfilled the boogeyman aspect of his people. He was crazy, even for them, and probably wouldn't have lasted much longer.
