Oh Shikaru, why must you always disappear?
CHARACTER SPREE OF DOOM! hahaha!
Going for a completely new set of dudes, BTW. No returning faces. I'm going to turn this into a completely different story. Although, I will state that most of those will be inspired by previous characters of mine.
Age: Johnathan is an oldblood who was turned during the Great Crusades, although nobody knows exactly which one. This makes him around 1.000 to 800 years old, or even potentially older.
Abilities: Aside from his enormous strength, speed and endurance as an Oldblood, Johnathan has spent hundreds of years constantly training his skills. He's travelled the world and killed the strongest opponents he could find. He's versed in a variety of martial arts both through weapons and barehanded, as well as being able to instantly recognize any fighting style or technique. It is said that Johnathan has reached the pinnacle of martial knowledge, and even as a human he would have been a terrifying opponent, a warrior without equal. As a vampire of his age, however, he has also inherited a number of powers unique to him, as most vampires do.
Supposedly, Johnathan's true power is locked away by the crucifixes he wears. When he removes those, his true demonic inner nature is revealed, as all the hatred and bloodlust that he's suppressed to remain a human is unleashed in a single massive burst. Although this seal has removed the bloodthirsty nature that he would otherwise have possessed as a vampire, when he wields it as a weapon in those few moments, he becomes an insatiable killing machine that cannot be stopped in any way other than complete and utter destruction. No being still alive has ever seen Johnathan go berserk, because whenever he does, he has a tendency of wiping entire areas completely clean of all life, human or otherwise.
While any other oldblood would have a number of other abilities, Johnathan is fairly limited overall. Many believe that his true power is locked away together with his bloodlust, meaning he only has access to them when he releases his seal. This has the odd side effect of making him immune to those triggers which would usually harm vampires. Things like holy water, stakes and crucifixes are completely ineffective against him, as long as he doesn't activate the seal. As such, this provides some sliver of hope to the vampire hunter who would witness Johnathan's true form. While he would be far more dangerous, his original weaknesses as a vampire would be restored together with his powers, and he would be vulnerable.
Equipment:
Johnathan wields a large longsword, reforged many times through the ages and expertly kept, polished, cleaned and sharpened after every battle. On it's blade, the name of every great opponent slain by Johnathan is inscribed in ancient Latin, forming hundreds of tiny sigils. Furthermore, the hilt is adorned with a series of thin blades, so that if it is held wrong, the wielder risks losing his fingers. This was added to ensure that only Johnathan would be able to wield the blade properly.
As well as his blade, Johnathan is heavily armored. While to all appearances it's simpel steel, truly Johnathan's armor has been forged from a special lab alloy designed for top notch combat gear. Modeled after Dragonskin, using multiple layers of plates to absorb powerful blows, it's bulletproof and nearly impossible to pierce. Even lower grade explosives can't get through it's specially designed surface, which does an excellent job of spreading and absorbing the kinetic force. Furthermore, due to it's alloy design and the supple joints, he can move freely while wearing this garment, and it's far lighter than normal steel armor. He acquired this excellent armor in exchange for a certain favor for SOLDIER, which even today is kept quiet by the higher ups.
History:
Durign the Crusades, hundreds of years ago, a minor vampire lord wished held claim to a large area, manipulating the local political leaders. He met the divinely inspired knights with forces of the undead, beasts that could not be slain, and grew stronger the more they killed. Here, Johnathan fought, side by side with his brethren, screaming the bloody name of the catholic church as with any religious zealot. Full of faith in a God that would smite those before him, he rode into battle, foremost among his brethren in courage, if not might. However, he soon fell, and he was brought into a new life of undeath by the vampire lord whoms name is lost to time. He was made one of the undead, and the former symbols of his faith burned him. For all his brethren had been slaughtered, and even as he awoke, he was treated to the spectacle of hundreds of demons, feasting on the corpses of those whom had fought beside him.
In a rage, Johnathan slew the vampire lord with his newfound strength, his bloodthirst and anger making him far more dangerous than had been anticipated. He slaughtered every vampire on the field of corpses, one by one, until only he stood alone, still wearing the armor of a crusader. However, he denounced his faith, refusing to serve a God who had betrayed him and his people, and left him to the faith of undeath. Stained with blood, he ended the war singlehandedly, slaughtering any soldier who would dare walk onto those fields of battle once more, threatening to wipe out any army that would set foot on it's grounds.
After the crusades, when the fire of religious zealotry had burned down, for a time, Johnathan found more vampires, more beasts. He discovered that some were far stronger than he, and struggled to become the most powerful knight in all of the world. Serving teacher after teacher, and facing opponent after opponent, Johnathan learned the secrets of every martial art developed by man. He had made a vow to become the greatest warrior ever to walk the planet, and he would not rest, devoting all of his strength to improving himself both mentally and physically. Now he wanders the world, searching for new worlds to improve his capabilities, new techniques to learn, and new poweful opponents to slay.
Personality:
Hardened by hundreds of years of constant training, Johnathan is a walking talking weapon. He's confident and proud, serving no rule or law besides the principles of his own devising. He has no mercy, for it has been washed away by his experience, but he isn't uncaring. He refuses to fight women or children, and he will never fight those who do not accept his challenge. Of course, attacking him in any way holds a challenge in and of itself, and it's not smart to test his boundaries. If he feels you're insulting his honor, he'll feel entirely justified in ripping you to pieces.
