Blackbeard But why is the rum gone?

Member Seen 8 yrs ago

Ok cool, made the changes to my history. Bar the master bit because I want him to have killed his master, giving him a reason to distrust his own apprentice if he ever took one on and tying in with his mistrust en masse. Just fits Ya'know.

I was thinking that maybe since Baal had gotten a lot more powerful (Up to Knight level at least, Lord I hope.) the Sith didn't want to upset the cart and start interrogating members etc.

I should have my Sith CS completed before too long. Feel free to move on without me, of course, as I may not have the sheet ready until tomorrow and I'd hate to halt this RP's progress at all. Anyway, I was just checking in to say that I'm certainly still interested.

I'm ready to hunt me down some force sensitives.

Speaking of which, what kind of countermeasures are there to force powers? If any.

Well some force sensitives train to resist force effects but they also sacrifice there own force abilities to do so.

In this era, not much. Beskar'gam deflects lightsabers, though if you get crotis weave in say a virboblade it actually shorts the lightsaber out. In terms of messing with force powers not in this era.

[/b]Name:[/b]
Mumbin Marsune (stormy goliath)
[/b]Gender:[/b]
Male
[/b]Species:[/b]
Gungan
[/b]Age: [/b]
35/65
[/b]Homeworld:[/b]
Naboo
[/b]Physical Appearance: [/b]

You would think an amphibious species would stay cleaner than most, yet somehow he wasn't just scruffy, he was a downright dirty scoundrel. Tall and lanky, he stood as tall as a Wookiee but about half the weight while his grayish skin had as many purple highlights as it did scars. It was clear by his movements and actions that he graduated from the academy of hard knocks and came out all the stronger for it.

[/b]Personality: What kind of person are they under fire, off duty, on the job, dealing with friends, family, enemies, ect ect? I figure get at least a paragraph here, so folks have a baseline to expect as the character develops. (Sidenote: I usually consider a paragraph about 4-5 complete sentences.[/b]
There are two kinds of people: warriors and fighters. A fighter is a great thing to watch, they make a show of it trading blows that would drop anyone else while everyone watches on cheering for more. A fighter has never seen war. A warrior drops the enemy in the shortest amount of time possible, no show just raw efficiency. The sith code doesn't allow for the quick clear mind needed for war, warriors don't allow fear to cloud them like the sith fighters do to push them on beyond, There has never been a sith warrior, until now.

[/b]Skills: What training and abilities does your character have?[/b]

[/b]Equipment: What kind of weapons, tools, and other personal belongings does this person have?[/b]

[/b]Powers:[/b]
His main power he is trained in is the ability to understand machines on a deeper level than most others. Given proper time and supplies he can make an electronic object function like a masterwork device by increasing the efficiency of the item the same way a jedi builds a lightsaber.

When it comes to combat, he has been taught how to increase his own physical strength and speed like so many others but also the sense of battle-mind as well.

[/b]Flaws:[/b] He is not the best, in anything, at all. He is above average and well rounded but anyone dedicated to a skill will hand him his ears on a platter.

[/b]Personal History: This one will be at least 2-3 paragraphs, at least. Where are they from, what molded them growing up, why are they serving who they serve, and what kind of history do they have together? Lot of stuff can be covered, so I don't reckon 2-3 paragraphs will be that hard.[/b]

Funny thing about Gungans, most people overlook their warriors class or caste due to their appearances on land seeming clumsy by most. But put a Gungan in the water and he'll put a Quarren on their heels. One person saw the opportunity to make use of such a piece and began to orchestrate a savant servant for their needs. He was born like all others and grew up as a tadpole with the brightest green eyes you ever saw and as such was named Po-Ban for this trait. Poban was a member of the Hoxie clan, a name for laughing kings which some say is a sign of royalty and others say is an old word for court jester. Either way he filled both roles, acting as class clown as long as there was a crowd to perform for but knowing when it was time to be a decisive leader.

He graduated high in his class but not the highest, He seemed to do everything better than most with no effort but less than the best, this earned him a nickname that translates best as "silver medal" for his constant second place settings. His one place of skill was with mechanics, he seemed to possess an intuitive nature with machines, he would constantly take things apart to learn how they went back together and after enough time he began to put things back together better than when he got them.

[/b]Extra/Other:[/b]
Due to gungan physiology having only cartilage skeletons rather than calcium bones, he takes only half the normal damage from kinetic impacts such as hammers and force strikes, but the lack of hard bones means that bladed weapons are more effective in cutting through his limbs or ribs once the blade passes his armor.

Well as a bounty hunter with no particular love for the Jedi, over the course of his decade long career he's probably captured a few force sensitives for unscrupulous types.. But in this case I actually meant Kast was ready to hunt down sith

I think cortorsis weave on weapons just prevents the lightsaber from cutting through the blade rather than shorting it out. On the other hand, armor requiring substantially more cortorsis would be capable of shorting out lightsabers.

So says wookiepeedia

I don't mean it shorts out forever, but you don't need it turned off forever to gain an advantage or at least level the playing field.

Yes, I'm aware. I think the user just needs to turn his lightsaber off and on again (lol). After that it should work just fine..

Using acutal corotis more or less short sit out, weave really just blokes lightsabers but due to its ability the Jedi really stamped on it making it rare to come by. Beskar'gam on the other hand is available to pretty much every mandalorian, the advantage there is you'll never find someone who isn't Mandalorian capable of smelting the Iron. The Galactic Empire strip mined Mandalore but the ore is useless without knowing how to smelt it.I'd say Corotis sould be limited to the weave variant to merely block sabers, and that not everyone should have one.

I agree that full cortorsis capable of disabling sabers should be a no, on the other hand, I think most/all characters in this rp would have been able to gain access to cortorsis weave weapons, especially since we all know were hunting down saber wielders..

Not every clan has it though at this time it was pretty common for Mandalorians to have it. That'd be something to discuss with EIsen though but as viet has it you probably could. Just know that it would still have the typical weak points off armour and isn't completely indestructible.

I was wondering why you went with duraplast for your armor, I was guessing it's just because you wanted to stay light and nimble. Kast has almost a decade of experience on Creed, so it'd make sense that he'd trade mobility for durability and equip himself with higher end gear at this point.

As Sep says, it'd make sense for Creed to have beskar'gam, but run it by eisen to be safe.
