My idea wasn't a good idea, I know. It was meant as a joke, anyways. Plus, my Mad Hatter, despite having the same appearance, is NOT the same Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland. > > ...we've always had the person (or people) most familiar with a setting lead us through a world... > > Now that seems like something I could get behind. Or whoever picked the world, perhaps, with a rotating GM sort of a thing where people take turns choosing worlds and GMing. What we used to do was somebody take a few people's ideas, have everyone vote and have the one who knows the world best lead that world. At least, that's how it was on x10.

If it was meant as a joke perhaps leaving some hint of humor would help, since I've no particular way of telling tone online. Also, your character looks exactly alike and has the same name and also has the Cheshire Cat hanging around for even more connection to Alice yet isn't the actual character. Okay. ------ >no. i'm just depressed in general. and i don't want to drag this down with subpar quality work. Buddy, I can't really force you to do anything, but it'd probably be better for you if you just relaxed and had some fun with this roleplay you've been hanging on to for so long instead of dropping out in a huff, having all your characters killed (not that I would, I find killing characters when a player leaves fairly disgusting) and then possibly coming to regret that decision later on.

I thought it was obvious when I said "kill both bosses." Sorry. As for the Alice in Wonderland references, he is loosely based on the book with bits and pieces from each movie but, for most of it, he's out of my head.

i dont use more than one character to make my posts bigger, i like playing with more than one personality. Plus, if the group splits up (like it has now it seems) then i can have a character interacting with each group and what happens to them if i so please.

So you like playing more than one personality, but you tried to make a character with the exact same "personality" as Deadpool? And, just a quick side note, I've run high-power games and splitting the group is like the only effective way to run a high-power game; playing a bunch of guys so you can have a finger in every pie completely defeats the purpose of doing so and only serves to make more work for everyone. Also not super important to the topic at hand but Ghost Rider, if I recall, never had any real weakness to holy weapons, being the spirit of vengeance powered by capital-G God. Also you forgot the Penance Stare, though I can understand that part because it's basically a "one-shot any bad guy" ability.

I did forget that, but i'll make sure to add "Non-plot NPCs and non-boss enemies only" to the end of it. And he's powered by Mephisto, the devil of marvel, not God. Thus as he is technically a demon (though a very powerful one) holy weapons do harm him. I've left him weak to holy weapons as he can build resistance to them as crucible upgrades. I might even leave the stare as an upgrade too. And i do admit halindrix is a poor choice for a roleplay element such as this one. (esp since i already have deadpool) And Ghostrider will mostly be (like all my uber godly characters) a role play aspect, while deadpool is a big action aspect. Meaning I won't always separate them.

Why even have a character if all they're going to be capable of doing is popping in every once in a while to spout off a one-liner and vaguely imply that they're super-powerful? Why even have a weakness if you're already planning to boil away a crucible upgrade to remove it? Why even have a Penance Stare if all it does is kill bottom-of-the-barrel mooks and especially since you're not even going to get the chance to use it? None of this makes any sense whatsoever.

That's not what i meant at all by him being a roleplay aspect. Roleplay aspect... Cuban Pete is very much being used as a roleplay aspect right now. He isn't getting into much combat, and is mostly using his resources to interact with players and NPCs. It's also kind of like when marvel started having Cable and Deadpool in the same place. Cable is mostly no nonsense, serious, and stubborn, while deadpool, as we know, is opposite of that. (except the stubborn part) Thus, having a character like cable in the sense of attitude will not only boost deadpool as a character, but also make him (ghost rider) a great character as well.

Except Cable got just as much action as Deadpool. You're not planning on keeping Ghost Rider and Deadpool in the same place, since you said you wanted to be in each group. Beyond all that, Ghost Rider just isn't a character you can faithfully use in a group dynamic like this. You'll either completely butcher the character, or alienate the group with his attitude and actions.

Thus a conflict is made, and a story can be told. Becuase, just like humans, Riders have personalities, which with experiances can change Plus, its going to be a mix between my personality (the player) and Ghost Rider's (the character) which is perfectly acceptable in this case.

Hardly. Ghost Rider doesn't have a personality that works with any group, good or bad. They're loners. That's the main reason they have that whole "biker" theme. Plus, that analogy about Ghost Rider and Deadpool working like Cable and Deadpool is... odd, to say the least. Consider how Ghost Rider and Cable are nothing alike. Consider how the few instances of Ghost Rider interacting with Deadpool were fundamentally different from Cable interacting with Deadpool. Hell, why are you playing Ghost Rider and not, say... Weasel or Cable?

i like ghost rider, and don't really like cable too much. And weasel looks to me like pretty much the same kind of guy Bob is for deadpool

That's the point. You're trying to make an RP-based character and not a combat character, aren't you? Why use Ghost Rider, whose main schtick is killing demons all on his lonesome, primarily to interact with other characters?

You don't understand the Cable and Deadpool stuff at all. First of all, Cable and Ghost Rider have relatively different personalities beyond "They don't crack jokes every other sentence." Secondly, Cable and Deadpool were written by a competent writer who understood how to give them a character dynamic that was both interesting and meaningful, which is difficult, but the end result was a sort of buddy cop story starring some pretty interesting foils who both started out in the extreme 90s craze comics had. On top of this, you just said you don't want all your characters in the same place, which defeats the purpose of adding Ghost Rider as a foil in the first place. Also, it's really dumb and pretentious to write a foil to a character you're already playing instead of forming that dynamic organically with another player. While we're at it, you're not good at writing Deadpool at all. You're clearly modeling yourself after Daniel Way and his wannabes, widely regarded as the worst DP writers for a reason. Poor attempts at non-sequitor humor, a lack of substance, and general "how random can I get" attitude all contribute to him being annoying. His victories in those stories are often won via others being dumbed down as opposed to his own resourcefulness or ability. Would you believe me if I said a competent writer can play up DP as one of the most tragic characters in the Marvel Universe? Did you even read Cable and Deadpool? Or the Joe Kelley run, or the current Posehn/Duggan run? Hell, even Gail Simone was pretty good. They're noteworthy because their jokes are clever and witty, and they give DP layers to his character beyond shouting "spork" at everyone.

... Well, from an outside point of view i can understand you thinking that. Just because you haven't seen me write him off as being tragic yet doesn't mean i don't know how to. He's in the middle of combat after this roleplay being dead for five months. He's got some boredom to relieve. I haven't gone judging your characters right off the bat yet, so i would like you to stop doing so towards me. Thank you. EDIT PLUS this is not even the canon deadpool anymore. He's weaker, he's goofier. I have no reason whatsoever to follow how he is, or should be. I like him doing crazy things and making jokes about it, so what? He more has my personality than he does the one that Deadpool usually has. Yes, i know deadpool. He's a sad, terribly depressing character in the whole reality. He goes charging into battle because he WANTS TO DIE, but he can't becuase Thanos banished him from Purgatory, so his soul just comes back to earth and thus he regenerates a body. He's not going 'how random can i get?' He's going 'how fun can i make my pitiful life so i dont turn into a mess because of the terrible shit i'm forced to go through?'

In that case, you're going to just make some random schmuck with Ghost Rider's powerset, and you'll completely ignore all of Johnny Blaze's personality just so you can swing a fiery chain and ride a motorcycle.

If you're not going to play the established personality of a particular character, then what's the point of playing the character?
