This character sheet has been deleted. Reason: Deemed 'against the ethics of the roleplay' by the new people.

I'mma have to disagree. No one ever used those terms. The discussion came about because people felt Ghost Rider was not only a poor choice for what is a group-based roleplay, given his personality as a lone spirit of vengeance and that his penance stare would be useless against bosses (the only enemies you'd have reason to use it against), but also that he would be wildly mis-represented, leading to a character that would have been Ghost Rider only because it had the name and shared the powers, and those things do not a character make. It developed because, in all honesty, you failed to provide reasonable counterpoints to the arguments presented against you. Not only did you choose to take criticism as a conspiracy against you, you relied entirely on the premise of allowing a fusion of personality between character, which I have to say just defeats the point of bringing in the actual character anyway, might as well just make Joe Schmoe what got Ghost Rider's powerset on the transition. You also appealed to your own supposed seniority over other players in this roleplay as if that had anything to do with the discussion at hand, only to then threaten to quit the roleplay in a huff while saying it's "high time it died in your eyes", completely undermining any possiblepoint your previous tenure in the roleplay might've had. Was the character against the rules? Not really, not like anyone ever argued this anyway. Does that mean the character was a-okay? In my eyes and those of the people arguing against you, not really, because it wasn't actually Ghost Rider. On a personal note, this is why I choose to not play canon characters, because I know I won't get them just right and I'd rather not bastardize something I like. While resorting to personal attacks might have been uncalled for, your absolute refusal to accept that this might not have been the best idea didn't exactly endear you to others, and the little quip about original characters was mean, but I support roleplayers making their own characters even if they're obvious ripoffs/tributes/clones over taking someone else's work and messing it up.

I understand that i did not respond well to this situation, as that day was not a good day for me by any means. I understand that you thought he would not do well, but see, misunderstandings can be sorted out in play. Characters being thrown together randomly aren't going to go together like cookies and milk the moment they meet. Thus, overcoming these misunderstandings will help all the characters improve, and even strengthen any bonds they already have. Ghost rider was worked with others many times, even people other than fellow Riders. He isn't ALWAYS the 'badass lone wolf' Though i'm fine with not having ghost rider, he's more of a treat than a neccesity to me. On to deadpool. Deadpool isn't used as a 'tragic character' He's a professional hitman with a sense of humor. The way I play him may not be exactly like the original, but he's pretty close in all reality. He's not being 'random' he's being a badass! It takes balls to crawl down the throat of something that could kill him just by exhaling the right way. The problem I had is that people thought that I was making deadpool a joke after just having him do two (count it, two!) purposely funny things. (the torched taco and the 'hemorroids ahoy' joke) Other than that he was genuinely trying to be a help to the rest of the group by taking out dragons one by one.

unrelated but, hey Bee, Ajax jumped down into the hole where Ganon was so they'd either crash midair or something.

That's one reason I use Samus, because her personality was mostly implied than outright developed. I've also put my own twist on how a couple of her items work, and will be creating some in the near future. Anyway, post coming in a few hours.

Same reason I chose Link. His personality isn't that developed, because it's supposed to be the player's story. I figured he'd be perfect for this. Also, when are we gonna get the antagonist side started?

Of course. Why wouldn't we plan on bringing in antagonists? Also, since that stupid thread title's really irritating me I'll start a new, properly titled thread after Hyrule is done. And since this is proving to still have its usual staying power I'll also likely put up an antagonist thread after we finish the second world, just to make sure I'm not jinxing it.

just checking. Wasn't sure with the issues we were having if we were even making it out of hyrule. Not trying to be Rude or snarky on that, but just observing. Though, we're going to have to get out of the whole one only person boss fight thing if we do more bosses. because besides the whole "oh, screw the cast of powerful player characters, I'M mister super special awesome, so there, suck it and watch me do some cool boss battle shit." vibe it lends, having people's characters watch someone fight, or get called assholes or such when interfering will really kinda slow things down. Also makes a poor read.

Same reason I have Steve. He basically has no personality in Minecraft so playing him with the player's mind works but there's still the influence of the character.

Damn, 10 pages since my last post. I get the feeling I'm the only female player but I don't know if that's true or not. Anyways, to join the conversations:

And why I chose to play Chell and Runner instead of going with my previous characters: Shizuka/Belwicket, Himeno, Shivani, I can't even remember any of the others.

What, you don't want to play Kagekiyo anymore? Or are you doing the same thing I'm doing? -_-

Well, shit. Gotta get that CS post edited ASAP. The move to BBCode screwed it up, but hey, at least we've finally got good old BBCode back now! Since I gotta edit it anyway, might as well post my bigass personality section for another sheet for her where I broke down evidence I found of Samus's personality and how it pertains to my interpretation of her personality, which is what's exhibited here. EDIT: Well, turns out all I had to do to fix it was edit then submit since I never ported the sheets to the previous formatting system. Still stuck my better personality section for Samus in there, but it's not the most well-written thing ever, though it's still more detailed than the last one.

Way to completely miss something that's already been touched upon. It's not about telling other characters to suck it, stop being mad your character was stopped in his tracks then killed, it went down that way entirely because of IC reasons. It's about not having to resort to massive levels of unfun, asspull bullshit for the boss when he has to fight a group of characters that would otherwise steamroll it pretty damn hard. Because our characters should steamroll pretty much anything in a group encounter, and having the one thing fight some 4+ people turns into a clusterfuck of it no-selling like there's no tomorrow to try and present some manner of "challenge" that is more of an arbitrary post count, where the goal is just to reach a certain level of posts in order to beat it. See, the right answer here is to not have just a single bossfight for all the group, even some manner of colossus would get annihilated because it would just be a giant target for a guy that can cut anything, a dude that can summon guns at will, an infinitely strong guy that can punch anything, 2 touhou characters with their super powerful magics and so on and so forth unless the GM constantly nullifies every single attack with little to no explanation to try and present the kind of "challenge" I described in the previous paragraph. The right answer is to actually have multiple encounters tailored to each player character, something to engage each of them, play to their strengths or "weaknesses", which in this RP means "things they can't do yet", and give them their own scenario. If you want examples, Ganondorf, the sword one, could've easily remained Bee's fight because sword duel and he actually had the Master Sword, so that's one down. For Okuu and Cirno, have Twinrova turn up because they sense their master is in danger, both groups use ice and fire magics, it's tag team match time. Chaos being a pain in the ass for Ganondorf? Have him get chucked into a bossfight with either Morpha or Bongo Bongo. Ajax is getting restless and Ganondorf doesn't want to trade punches with the guy? Summon a fuckmassive Ultra Dodongo he's been breeding as an attack beast. Get the idea? Actually let everyone have their fun without having to take turns because they should demolish everything as a group? Yes, this actually takes effort from the GM, being a GM isn't easy.

how did you bring that up again? i'm done with it. all i was saying was that if we do boss fights where players only have one person fighting, it'll slow things down. it has nothing to do with personal qualms.

The fight will be slowed down, if only marginally, but by separating the players so they all have something to contribute you not only add more player agency but you get to flesh the fight out. If we'd just stuck with Ganondorf and his swords, Pete, Cirno, Utsuho, Chaos, and Jack wouldn't have much to contribute other than taking potshots at Ganondorf while Bee and MAYBE Omega did the visceral stuff. That's not fun. If a whole ensemble of bosses showed up to act as lumberjacks to the main match (where the other protagonists ALSO act as lumberjacks), the players have something to do while Bee deals with the main antagonist.

This sounds pretty personal to me. Don't feel bad, Chaos did a suicidally insane thing and, as such, died as he lived. Better to die as yourself than live having betrayed your own principles.

You mean that guy with the chains and who can eat people? He's obviously evil! Of course people are going to toss away a robed monstrous-looking figure who just showed up, looking at the bad guy hungrily and talking about ripping flesh from bones!

Oh, right. I thought Omega was the one with Ganondorf and Alpha was with Volvagia. Again, this is Ajax acting in-character. He wanted to see a one-on-one fight, Alpha and Chaos interfered, so he stopped them. Pete also interfered, and Ajax got angry at him, too (though since Pete didn't threaten to kill everyone, he was spared).
