...

I-I thought we were gonna learn about this, not already be doing it!

Head suddenly swirling where before it was calm and collected, he stared bleakly down at the grid paper below, trying to get his thoughts together. If he could just get them all in a line, surely he could sift through them all and find one coherent enough as an idea to use!

Tapping the end of his eraser against the desk, he attacked this daunting task with all of his fervor, furrowing brow in concentration... but to no avail. It seemed time to pull out what was known in the academic world as The Big Guns.

Phone a friend!

Wait, wait, wait.

Could that actually work? He spent a long moment pondering the possibilities.

Gratia Mindaro - Armoury

Functional headgear. That was what they were to work on. Gratia idly tapped a long finger against the wood of the table, her short nail impacting against the hard surface with a quiet thud. It was a broad category, and definitely one that required much thought if she were to even begin tackling the assignment. What did 'functional' entail? Could she knit a fucking beanie and pass? They were useful for keeping her head warm during her jaunts into the cold mountain ranges, after all. Relatively easy to clean of Grimm entrails as well. But would their professor (real fucking outstanding work, Chatsworth; a goddamn rubric would be nice for this shitty assignment) accept such a thing?

Was she going to have to construct a pointless piece of headgear that might get in her way?

How irksome. But whatever it was that she made, at least she could ditch it on her cheese-eating manwhore of a team member. The only 'headgear' the huntress really relied upon was her set of headphones, and their utility in battle boiled down to being a way for her to choke others. Her role in a mission tended to be heavily combat-based, almost to the point of extremity, and anything more complicated than that could be ... difficult to integrate into her fighting style.

She picked up a pencil, aimlessly spinning it around with her right hand as she gazed down upon the paper solemnly.

It was time to begin brainstorming.

Cian Kuze - Armory Class

Hearing the assignment Cian knew what she wanted to do she had the idea of something for awhile now so guess now was the perfect time to try and build it. Though first she quickly put together Byakko before putting it away and the blue prints back into her large jacket she wore over her uniform. "I did build Byakko myself bilt and designed personally." She answered the question as she quickly went back into her pockets and pulled out a pair of large goggles that looked like it was meant for aviation. The Cyan lenses gleamed slightly under the light of the class room her idea was a two part set goggles to process multiple visual effects among others and a head set of sorts to pick up any signals or other such things. Though the question remained on how she first wanted these to be usable for battle and so one thing she wanted to set up was a targeting aide that helped keep track of trajectory and all that. With a small sigh she pulled out another piece of rolled up paper and slid it open across the desk. It was a pretty old design one she had created to be hooked to her weapon to aid with the firing rate and path needed for Byakko's many forms. Now all she had to do was expand upon it somehow she supposed.

Jack Orpheus | Grimm Studies

"Sweet, sharks", as powerful as the Megalodeus seemed, it was kind of cool. As he listened on the class, it seems they were to... Hunt this thing? Under water? If there was anything Jack knew, it was that water was bad for him, specifically under water. His speed wasn't so useful there. There seemed to be some equipment to deal with it, and it wasn't like his Semblance was actual lightning so he could still use it underwater, but it was incredibly lowered in effectiveness. Maybe he can compensate with equipment or additional equipment. They must have something that can make his daggers a little more effective underwater.

Fortunately, it was to work as a team to take one down, so maybe they can make a plan to compensate... None of his team was in this class though unfortunately. They were all in Armoury. So what options did he have for a team here...?

Sangue Naga - Grimm Studies

After departing from her teammates, Sangue found herself droning away in her Grimm Studies class.

At least, she thought she would.

For Professor Port decided to go ham by taking them to a pool containing an underwater Grimm creature. Apparently, it was dangerous enough for Port to tell the classmates to group up and take it on afterwards. A plan...? She would think about one once she fully prepared herself.

The red-haired woman looked down at her robes.

It would definitely get in the way within water.

"I," she began, but she quickly silenced herself. Turning around, she headed over to the locker rooms and undressed. As a Huntress whose only goal was to be prepared to face threats that could end anyone's life, she did not mind being unfashionable. All she needed was her blade and her claw.

The woman checked to make sure her clothes underneath her robes were sufficient for the lesson and left the locker room. She donned a sarashi over her chest, a sufficiently-long white cloth wrapped over the disgusting bridge between her shoulder and her claw's mechanism. The red-haired woman also wore a short white hakama. With a scabbard for her katana wrapped around her waist, the warrior walked to the pool.

She remained silent as she stood still, wondering if she could simply assist a team from the sidelines.

Glancing up from his very rough sketches of the classic piece of Saiyan technology (and outing himself as never having a future in art), his eye swiveled back over to Cian beside him, already hard at work on some contraption infinitely more complex than his.

"Really? All by yourself?" he asked again, needlessly. Looking from her quick, clean schematic back to his wayward scribbles, the discrepancy here couldn't be more obvious. Like his and, say, Aoki's Math Grades back in High School...

When Math wasn't too brutal even for me.

"That's... amazing." He replied, in a tone colored much more soberly than usual by the second, third, and fourth thoughts about taking this class swimming throughout his mind. He really, honestly, hadn't expected to have been expected to already have experience, expertise, in such an area where you'd think it expedient to ensure that even those starting from nothing had explanations supplementing their exploration. Seriously, wasn't there an intro class for this?

Maybe in Signal's curriculum...

I should ask April. Or Mom.

All things considered, this really wasn't shaping up to be Ben's day. A hell of a brawl first period, and even though he didn't lose it, he came out of it feeling like he'd been put through a meat grinder. Headache was mostly gone, but he was still running at spectacularly low Aura. He'd popped both reserves, which meant both batteries were sucking at his slowly replenishing levels like damned camels at an oasis. He wasn't even in the green, he was hovering in the high oranges. And his batteries had what, ten percent each? Even if he popped both that second he'd barely be over his usual supply. Add that to the chaos at the end of Math, and now he had to fight a Megalodeus. In water.

This is a terrible idea, Ben. BASL's leader reminded himself even as, to no one's surprise, he started unbuckling the additional pieces of armor he wore over his clothes. And from there, he ditched most of his heavier clothing, leaving behind enough to preserve modesty without weighing him down. He took a second to tuck his gear into a locker, then stepped back out onto the poolside ground next to Sangue. He was lucky enough to have a teammate in the class, but he'd realized something very quickly; Sangue's claw was going to make it very hard for her to swim, let alone take effective action underwater. The thought had been occupying the back of his mind while he changed, along with his own weapons underwater. Caletfwlch was going to be next to useless, he would want to stick to his tonfa. Their shotguns wouldn't be very effective underwater, but the recoil would still help him move a hell of a lot faster than if he had to stick to swimming. Deinamig would do the same in a pinch.

But...

"It might be best if you stuck to those pads, Sangue." He commented, gesturing towards the pads floating on the water. "Your claw can probably get one of us out of there fast, if it's going to catch up. But it won't help you out underwater."

Ben gave an apologetic look before he flipped his tonfa to a reverse grip. Slashing would be pointless, and this way he could boost speed with the shotguns. "No offense. You just might be better suited for support this go round."

"Yah Byakko was my own personal project something I am really proud of in the end. Guess if you want to put it that way than yah I am in my element." She replied back to Luke as she was finishing the last touches that was her headgear design for the class the goggles was multi function set up which was pretty much the easy part since she could easily take the software she needed to add to it from her Byakko which had it already installed since it was always mean to connect to something like the goggles. "So whats your idea for the headset for this class Luke?" Cian asked as she tilted her head to see the scouter design he was trying to sketch out. It seemed to be based after that old cartoon dragon something she remembered boys used to watch all the time. Still a interesting idea but a bit rough still to each their own she figured.

Abel Fulgurate – Grimm Studies

A swim with one of the deadliest Grimm out there? It would be no picnic, but despite the ominous, murky black shape lurking beneath the water like some primordial evil, Abel acknowledged a surprising optimism about his chances about getting through the trial unscathed. Some remorse filtered through him when an examination of this hopefulness concluded that much of this stemmed from the assumption that the sharklike Grimm would turn its chops on his classmates, but still. Even underwater, a blade was a blade. A full summation of the task ahead constituted nothing more than an Ampere to the brain and a quick escape from the pool to wait out the Megaladeus's berserk. Actually looking forward to it, which frightened him more than it exhilarated him, Abel removed his cuirass, greaves, and vambraces before carefully pulling off his blue jacket, folding it with a fastidious precision, and setting it on a table. Though doubtless that splendid garb drew the inspiration for its hue from the azure deep, cloudless sky, or some other organisms' realm just as unattainable, it wouldn't do the cotton any favors to reunite it with a source of its color.

He looked furtively, as if he'd already made a compromising error, at the others when he realized that some had begun to form tightly-knit groups, most likely in order to devise some sort of shark-slaying strategy. A pang of disappointment in himself struck like a finger to the neck; Abel should have thought of that. Not wanting to seem in any way helpless, desperate for attention or company, or a third wheel, he stubbornly withheld his presence from any of the groups. Instead, he focused on removing his socks as he grew tense waiting for Port's signal. After all had finished their preparations, the professor cheerfully obliged him. “Begin!”

Abel grunted in affirmation, and gave the Ampere a resolute spin, as if rehearsing some deadly flourish with which he'd bring about the doom of his aquatic foe. Rather than try the pads and flounder or try the water and risk chumming it up with a no-doubt angry Grimm, Abel skirted the edge of the pool with his weapon of choice raised overhead, the spitting image of a spearfisher. Once someone else brought it to surface, he'd heroically cast the Ampere into the Megaladeus and pierce its head. After that, all that remained was a minute-long wait for the monster's life to fully understand the profound depth of its wounds. Now that he thought about it...”Hey, you guys! No matter how badly wounded, Megaladeus don't die instantly. Once it's fatally wounded, just clear the area to avoid its berserk!” In retrospect, the proper time for his prior knowledge would have been a minute earlier.

In the armory class Ebon spent his time quietly working on his R-Types to himself. He had chosen not to meet up with his team at Lunch before, mostly since he didn't like being in a big crowd like the one at the Deli. Even in class Ebon seemed to be all by himself even though he was sitting next to a couple of students. When Chatsworth arrived Ebon only have him a cursory glance before returning to work on the R-Types. However once the assignment was given to them the hunter sighed and had his drones return to The Kingdom.

"Make some head gear huh? Huh." Ebon wasn't sure what to make. While he wanted to make something high tech, that wasn't something he could finish in just one class session. Chatsworth likely doesn't expect it to be done in one class either, but Ebon doesn't like leaving work unfinished. He had some tweaking with the R-Types to do and he really didn't want to get hung up on making this piece of headgear that Ebon likely wasn't ever going to use anyways. Still he wanted to do good in class, so he started drafting up this idea for an eyepatch.

It was basically like a telescope that you didn't need to use your hands for: just squint through one eye and it'll zoom in as close as you need it to. There was some tech involved, but nothing that he couldn't jury rig in class. There was potential for upgrades but Ebon honestly didn't care for it. He just wanted to get this over with so he could go back to working on the R-Types. Ebon never had to leave his seat while he worked either, as he just used one of his R-Types with a grappling claw to go into the scrap room and grab whatever it is he needed. Parts floated around his head and body as he began to assemble the basic form of his telescopic eyepatch. "I'll need to figure out a name for this..."

"Oh, mine? Well..."

His hand found it's way to the back of his head, scratching an awkwardly-timed itch as he slid his rough schematics over to the space between them. To say they were rudimentary would be a drastic understatement. Really, they were closer to they type of sketches found scattered throughout the notebook of an inattentive student, with only basic labeling and explanations that almost seemed an afterthought.

In other words, it was very clearly not the work of someone versed in the task at hand.

"I couldn't come up with much, so I asked my sister if she had any, and she responded with 'a Scouter'." he explained frankly, knowing being put on the spot like this would make any lie he'd try to tell a convoluted mess through his own panic and inevitable attempts of twisting lipservice out of half-truths.

"So I was thinking an eyepiece that could be used to measure enemy Aura levels, going off of that. Maybe monitor those of linked units as well. You know, kinda like an RPG Party's."

A sound enough idea in theory, but one that he in practice wasn't sure if he could implement. If he was ready to tackle the problem of implementing.

Maybe she could teach me. It's her world, after all.

...

But would there be a class where he didn't feel the need to lean on other people for help? It felt like an ugly new habit, running to other people once the going got rough. Gratia in Math, for example. He was always competent even once his study habits had begun to suffer back in High School, was he really as hopelessly lost as he assumed he was? And he also managed to qualify for transfer into the Hunter curriculum despite not going to Signal, if only by the barest margin. He had to be able to work something out with that knowledge base.

"People can only save themselves. One person saving another is impossible."

Tanner Oshino had said that. Tanner Oshino, a former classmate and family friend of his mother's, had said that. Tanner Oshino, whose glib and carefree demeanor belied a serious expertise in both occult matters and fending off Grimm, had said that. Tanner Oshino, the vagabond exorcist hunter who he owed serious debt to, had said that. Tanner Oshino, the aloha-shirted hobo he'd learned to trust in spite of everything about his appearance, had said that.

...But it was ultimately one's own choice to ask for help, right?

It almost felt like a cop-out, thinking that. A convenient evasion of an uncomfortable notion thanks to tricky wordplay. Whether it was right or not, he couldn't say. He was no philosopher. Just an ordinary young man.

"At this point, though, it's essentially still just an idea. I haven't figured out what all I need for it yet, much less put it together."

Gratia Mindaro - Armoury

What the fuck would Fiordilatte need to not suck more cock than some gloryhole whore?

Her ... irritating teammate ... was, to her own disgust and annoyance, the motivating factor behind the various schematics she was sketching away at halfheartedly. Functional headgear was not a class of equipment that could assist her in any effective manner, and so Gratia Mindaro was forced to ponder what utilities would be desired by the remaining members of Team Vignoble in order to assist her in her brainstorming, an act that would also have allowed her to ditch whatever contraption she constructed on them without complaint. Yet she knew too little about the Harken girl's fighting style and Venetia's presence in the class meant that providing her leader with something would be redundant, so to her abject horror, the only remaining test subject was ... Napoli Fiordilatte.

Fucker's going to owe me for this.

Now, what equipment did a sniper usually carry that the cheese-eating bastard tended not to?

A rangefinder? That would be a large help.

Masked torches to minimise white light? She'd seen that once.

Binoculars? The Mistralese teenager's unwanted partner possessed one, but it could be integrated into a versatile piece of headgear.

The sounds of pencil against paper screeched to a halt. A versatile piece of headgear. Some horrid, Frankenstein'd piece of bullshit. A strange contraption that could combine everything into one and save on space? She could do that. It'd probably need some fuck-huge battery or something, but the first ten orders were subsidised, after all.

Gratia began to draw again.

She knew exactly what to do.

Jack Orpheus | Grimm Studies

Jack's choice of equipment was was pretty simple, a wetsuit. That was it. Just a few belts to hold his daggers and other extra equipment that he may decide to pick up before the swim. There seemed to be a common plan, and that was to somehow bring the shark Grimm up to the surface. He looked around and it seems a lot of students agreed, in or not in a group. The pads didn't seem to be a good place to be, but for Jack it shouldn't be much of a problem. As the students began to circle around the pool, he looked to at least identify the Megaladeus' location before he would step up onto the pads. He can easily jump from one to the other and avoid an attack, so long as it didn't surprise him from directly below, which is why he wanted to wait for the moment. He intended to be the bait, he had confidence in his mobility after all.

"So we're going to try and lure it to the surface? Or does someone here have a better plan?", he asked, twirling one of his daggers while he waited.

Krysthane- Armoury

Krysthane threw the piece of scratch paper into the trash. She had already burnt through like four ideas but this one was solid. She could do this one. It was pretty basic but still a good idea and she could probably finish it this period. She eagerly sketched out her new idea, perfect. Headphones that could both play music and be a form of communication between teammates. In addition it would let them get in contact without going through the troublesome ordeal of using their scrolls. Krysthane practically plunged into the scrap bin finding the parts she needed and managed to get most of it.

All she needed was some way for them to connect wirelessly to download music and communicate with each other. Figuring finding something like that in the scrap bin was a little unlikely so she figured she could just order four of them, still have plenty of orders left, and be able to finish them as soon as her parts arrived. Krysthane sat at her desk satisfied, four headphones, one of them admittedly somewhat shoddily built, stood in front of her. "Easy A", she said quietly to herself with a confident smile.

Robert Fallson - Grimm Studies

After Delta and Grane agreed to Robert's magnificently simple yet effective plan, Robert took two steps toward the pool before hearing one of the other students address him. Skidding to a stop and almost falling in, Robert turned toward Sepia to temporarily welcome her to the team. "Yeah, sure. The more the merrier. Now I'd say the best place to put you is-" Before he could finish, another voice interrupted him. Robert now turned his attention toward Cobalt and Diamond. "Alright, more people. So in case you missed it, the plan is to-" Suddenly, Professor Port told the students to begin the fight and Abel began to take off around the pool. To add more to the confusion, Jack approached the group and began asking questions too. The number of people joining in was getting disorienting and confusing for Robert and he had very little of an idea of what everyone's strengths and weaknesses were. "Um, uh... Screw it. If getting wet doesn't sound appealing to you stay at the edges of the pool with Delta and use ranged attacks. Your main target should be its gills. If you want to get more up close and personal, go with Grane and aim for its fins. Finally, if you've got some kind of death wish, you can join me in trying to distract it and keep it away from everyone else. Ready? Break!"

Without any other kind of warning, Robert dashed toward the pool, trying to land on one of the nearby platforms. While still in the air, he shouted back to everyone, "Fifty lien says that, at some point, I'm going to end up in this thing's mouth. Any takers?" Robert knew how bad his luck was, so he came up with the perfect way to beat Lady Luck. There was no way he wanted to get turned into a Megaladeus' toothpick. By betting such a large sum of his money he hoped he'd finally outsmarted his "curse". And hey, if he did get eaten he'd have a whole bunch of money from anyone who bet against him, so it was a win-win... if he survived that is. What was he doing again? Oh yeah, not trying to fall into the water. Robert landed on one of the floating pads. It wobbled for a few moments, but he soon regained his balance. "Hehe, I didn't fall in. Already off to a good star-" Before he could finish stating his overconfidence, a large shark tail suddenly rose from the water and bitch-slapped the poor teen, knocking him straight into the drink. Robert pulled himself back onto the platform, now soaking wet. "The feelings mutual, buddy!" he called out to the Grimm. "Let's turn this thing into sushi!"

Cobalt Chideta-Grimm Studies

Cobalt looked at Diamond and shrugged. "You heard the man. Stay at the edge of the pool and provide ranged support. Later." He took his sword out of his sheath on his back and jumped onto one of the floating lily pads. It sank slightly as it struggled to support his weight, so he jumped into the pool so others could use the lily pad. "This is insane!!!" Cobalt screamed as he hit the water with a mighty splash.

He opened his eyes underwater and saw the Megaladeus staring at Robert with a hungry grin. Huh, never knew that Grimm could smile. Cobalt swam towards it's gills and brought his arms above his head. This was not going to be fun. Not for the Grimm anyways. He activated his Semblance so he could focus on exactly where to stab, just when the Megaldeus noticed him. It was just in time to get stabbed in the side with a big ass blade actually. Cobalt missed the gills due to some last second movement, but damn the 27 Smasher was bleeding this thing out. As the Megaladeus started to thrash to try and get Cobalt off he pulled the trigger on the gun part of the blade a few times to shoot the fucker in the side.

The monster surfaced for a moment and threw Cobalt away from it a good couple of yards. His blade splashed into the water a few feet away from him and he swam over to grab it. In hindsight he probably should've focused on getting away instead. The Megaladeus glared at him and began to charge him to try to smash him against the side of the pool. Cobalt gasped a few times and looked around. "Someone pull the aggro!" He began desperately swimming away but it was catching up fast.

Sapphire Rode - Armory Class

Sapphire thought about Gren's problem for a moment. What he needed was a seal that could be applied between the mask and human skin, which meant that it had to be easily engageable and disengageable once it was no longer necessary. This was not exactly Sapphire's area of expertise given that for this sort of thing she'd be perfectly happy with a suction seal on a gas mask but that aside she thought she had a couple of ideas. They're was a design her mother had used for a certain type of bullet casing when she was little that might be adaptable.

"Give me a moment, I'll take a look in the scrap room." Sapphire pushed her schematic into her binder before getting up, crossing the room and entering what could easily be described as the land of lost toys. The scrap room had warehouse like shelves from floor to ceiling and each of them was packed with a vast array of unfinished or defective inventions and raw materials. Sapphire had half an idea what she was looking for. Ten years ago, give or take in order to prevent dust from going off inside bullet casings the insides were coated with a polymer resin that would seal the dust in the round completely isolating it from the outside environment, the resin only maintained its integrity while an electric current was run through it, the moment the bullet was fired, that current stopped, the resin became inert and the dust active.

Sapphire reasoned that this resin could be applied to the outside of Gren's mask, when an electric current was run through it the resin would instantly bond to the face of the wearer and once it was disabled the mask would easily release. Sapphire wasn't altogether sure what the effects of the resin would be on human or faunus skin but she could assume their would be some sort of mild rash.

The resin had been retired in recent years in favor of more practical cost effective alternatives but Sapphire thought if she could find some very old shell casings somewhere in this mess they should still operate under the same principles. It was another ten minutes before Sapphire located an old almost archaic weapon. In fact it didn't look dissimilar from something her father might have used in the years preceding her mother's death. Most of the components had been stripped likely for other projects but it looked like the firing chamber was still intact. She opened it up and was pleased to find four rounds inside. A closer inspection revealed the that dust had also been removed from them but it looked like the resin was still intact. She scooped them up and navigated her way out of the scrap room.

She picked up her stuff from her former desk and sat down next to Gren. Sapphire set the bullets down in front of him. "Inside these you'll find a synthetic polymer resin that should create a hermetic seal when you run a low level electric current through it. Melt the metal down, the resin will separate, apply it to your mask, and rig up a battery, turn the current on and the mask should bond to the face of the wearer, turn it off the mask will come free. Simple enough." If he was testing it on Shiro she supposed he'd find out about any side effects the resin had on faunus skin. She didn't think it would be anything serious thought the thought of Shiro with a giant red ring around his nose and mouth was mildly amusing.

Sapphire hadn't given much thought to her own invention though as she'd searched the scrap room an idea had occurred to her. During her match with Napoli this morning, which she'd lost based on a simple technicality, it was clear that she could used increased visibility. The trick she'd pulled with the ice and fire rounds to make steam would have been much smarter had her own sight been unimpaired. A set of lenses that could filter out interferences such as darkness, steam, bright light, sand and snow storms would be more than useful.

"I was considering creating a pair of lenses that could filter out certain agents that impair visibility. Got any ideas?"

Gren Orchid

Nodding his head Gren let Sapphire head to the scrap room to get whatever she needs to help him. But once she was out of sight Gren quickly opened up her binder and took out the schematic she was working on. He didn't have time to actually read through it, so he simply took a picture as he was looking at it, putting it away before Sapphire returned. He'd look at these later, maybe surprise Sapphire with it. When Sapphire returned she brought some outdated bullets and almost immediately it clicked. Sapphire basically told him what he just realized and he quietly berated himself for not thinking about it. Granted, he wasn't going to use Sapphire method. Instead, using this resin, he could melt it down into a sort of adhesive compound, which if he uses with a careful layering of corn silk on a rubber hosing he could make himself not just a decent hermatic seal, but multiple ones. Still, if Sapphire hadn't brought the resin to his attention Gren would have likely sat stumped for the next few days.

Taking the resin Gren went to isolate the metal from the mixture. After a few close class and some smoking, Gren came back with the complete prototype. "Here we go! The Rebreather! Now I just need to find Shiro and see if he has some time to test this out for me." But before he could leave to find his fauna friend Sapphire wanted Gren's thoughts for a set of eye wear to increase visibility. A few questions came to mind, but he guessed that Sapphire was referring to obstructive mists like the one she had to deal with during her battle against Napoli. "I have some ideas. As a faunas darkness is never a problem for me, though I can't say the same for most humans. But you're thinking more along the lines of smoke or mist, yeah? For something like that, what you need isn't something that removes the obstacle, but a means of perception unaffected by obstacles. I've actually be looking into creating something that would allow me to pick up aura levels in others, regardless of their location or cover. It'll even work on Grimm by picking up their negative or non-existent levels. Of course most of this is software stuff; I planned to program it into my helmet. Still, I guess I'd need some hardware to adapt such a system. Let me see..."

Gren went back to his desk and got his books, looking through for his journal. He had multiple journals, though this was mostly because he doodled or loses most of them, so he gets new ones and continues were he left off. Eventually he came back to Sapphire and hand a spiral bound binder, opening it to a page. "This is my guide to creating a pair of night-vision goggle. It's actually able to switch it's perception, allowing you to either increase your visibility in the dark, or detect infrared signatures. I was thinking of looking into doing something similar for Aura signatures, but... Well, that might be out of the scope of this assignment. Still, this does have the step-by-step directions of how to assemble one, though I'll admit it's not an original. I have this because I was hoping to improve on the design, you know, make it less bulky. Or cheaper. Most of the stuff I have, though obviously they're not things that you could just find around the house. Shouldn't be a problem here though." Not wanting Sapphire to look at the other secrets in his binder Gren removed the sheets of paper pertaining to the goggles and offered them to her. "Is there anything else you'd like from me?"

Sangue Naga - Grimm Studies

The red-haired swordswoman nodded as she took her blade out. The weight of her claw was quite heavy, no matter how much she wanted to say that it did not hurt her movements. With that in mind, the girl decided to follow her leader's advice and stick to the pads.

After leaping onto one of the pads, the red-haired woman saw a red-haired Hunter get slammed off of one of the pads... before he recovered. She doubted that she could withstand those kinds of attacks as well as he did. Above the water, the Hunters were prone to sudden attacks. Below the water, the Hunters were prone to slowed movements. Coordination did seem crucial to avoiding major injuries.

So when she saw the Grimm chasing after a blue-haired greatsword wielder, she wondered what she could do.

Throwing the Apophis Claw at it may not grant the Grimm enough pain to ignore the greatsword wielder. The strength of the Claw was not superb, and the fact that the Grimm was slightly submerged in water did not help.

Throwing it at the greatsword wielder to drag him out of the Grimm's way was also not ideal because some parts of the Claw were quite sharp. Even with the presence of Aura, it sounded too risky to drag the man out of the way with the claw, especially since the Claw was best at dragging things when it impaled them.

So the woman took a few steps back before propelling herself to the greatsword wielder's direction. She chose to ignore her leader's advice just for once. As she spiraled towards the blue-haired man, she threw out the Apophis Claw and let it latch its sharp blades into one of the sides of the pool. She drop-kicked him out of the way.

The red-haired swordswoman felt her body submerge into clear liquid. She pulled herself away from the location the Grimm was about to hit. As she let the Claw drag her away, she suddenly felt the momentum of her body slow down.

The Claw did not dig deep enough and fell off of the solid surface. Out of pure instinct, she reached out for the greatsword-wielder she just kicked and caught his leg.

Sangue climbed his body before revealing her face.

For some reason, it seemed as if she finally understood why what she did was a bad idea. She clung onto him with a straight, emotionless expression as she simply told the blue-haired man,

"Please get me out of here."

After all, she had an equal skill to a hydrophobic man when it came ascending from water. Now that she thought about it, she somehow made the situation worse by ignoring Ben's advice and acting by sheer instinct. Though they were near one of the sides of the pool, her Apophis Claw would still make her sink like a rock until she did something to its weight.

"Please," she repeated with the same idle expression, though it was clear that she preferred tasting fresh air than the endlessly deep dirt nearby the core of Remnant.

Sepia Russet - Grimm Studies

Sepia skirted the edge of the pool, keeping an eye out for anyone who might need assistance. While she wouldn't really mind getting in herself, Orthus would be best suited to hauling people out. "As long as I can avoid hitting someone with it." She both cringed and smiled at the thought of accidentally thumping someone in the back of the head with a grappling hook.

Suddenly, she spotted a red haired girl holding tightly to a boy out in the water. They didn't look too troubled, but she thought it best to check anyway.

She used her semblance to link all three of them up. "Do you two need help?"
