All right, I'm back, and I'm somewhat recovered but now very tired. Let's go through what we have so far. I'll be commenting in point form along the way so I've tried to limit everything to one tag. I'll also answer any questions that were not previously answered to my specifications by my co-GM or by other applicants. Also also, the English major in me is going to come out in full force. Be ready for it. @Ganryu - I've never heard of anyone with Undertaker as a last name without the first name of "The". Might consider altering it. - I'd like to see more on the appearance and personality. The trench coat alone is the article of clothing that usually sets off warning signs for me when reading characters. Especially if nothing is being worn underneath. Personality is less of a problem, I've done lazy before. It's just good to have some offsetting traits with it. That's not as big a problem though. - The bio is a little tough to read with the run-on sentences and the inconsistent capitalization on landmarks, place names and species. @Liriia - I'm wondering how a native of Cianwood got a Hoenn-based egg like that. Aron is not a native Johto/Kanto species so it wouldn't be able to be found in any cave systems there. If Sybil is from Dewford, that would work. - I'd like to know a bit more about what exactly is the extent of Sybil's archeological knowledge. How deep does it run? Does it come at the expense of other subjects? I mean it's definitely possible, given there was a trainee Scientist in the prior RP, just want to make sure it's not too outlandish. -If you want to handicap Lapis at Lvl 2, that's your perrogative, but he gets levelled up just like the others. @Lizmichi - Fary is carrying an awful lot of stuff, as well as a pretty high-rolling cash stack. Given the way the currency system is going to work in Indigo, $3000 might be a bit much. Pokeballs are only going to be $2, so you have enough cash to make drowning a Moltres in broken balls a viable strategy. Might want to donate some of that to charity. - "therefor" "She's sill hesitant" - Nitpicks I know, but again. English. @Lambi - I'm not sure Evolver is a class. I mean specialist, sure. But I'm stretching for that one. Really solid sheet here. @mictlan93 - "Pokeblls". That's the only thing I could fine. Very well done sheet. @WriterRaven - Well as co-GM you're pretty well set in stone. Still, very well done. @hatakekuro - Much like in the games, it's not going to be possible for a PC to join with the primary antagonists of the RP. - I know a lot of the personality is going to built around being a Rocket but he does come off as a bit of a psychopath. Like I said, a given for an enemy, but Raven and I are going to be handling the Rocket interactions. - $5000 is a bit much, even if you're working for a criminal organization. All the grunts I beat up in games barely had any money. - No one is going to be starting off with any Mega Stones. You don't get them right away in the game, you don't get them right away here. - No one is also going to be starting off with a shiny Pokemon, because then everyone is going to want one. If you are going to say you deserve a shiny, you're going to need a good reason why it is absolutely vital to your character's essence of being that their Pokemon be shiny and especial. - Honestly, between the character's biography, back story and skill set, he's better set up to join the Mary Sue RP. Again, I know he's written based on Rocket acceptance but still, it's not a character that would possibly work in this context. @Howler - Again the bank account is too damn high. What kind of economy is this? All these kids running around with thousands of dollars. It's probably my fault for not explaining the pricing system in this Kanto, but yeah, still high. - The talent is a bit oxymoronic compared to the personality. So he gives off this misanthropic teenage angst everywhere but is able to read people like an open book? I wouldn't think a teenager who's shutting himself off emotionally would have the ability to instantly read people. Something about life experience there. I wouldn't know. I couldn't read people at all. Mostly because of the low amount of contact growing up. But I digress. - Gotta have some time spent in Unova to get your hands on an Axew. You can still have Clair as a catalyst and motivation, I'm fine with that, but you're not air mailing Pokemon over. Same as the others. @Stale Pizza - I'm not sure I can give you Route 13 for your lost Litwick. If you want to say Reversal Mountain, even on that little stretch outside of Undella, I think that's doable. However, I don't see a Fire/Ghost type ending up on a Route known for "Beaches and the Sparkling Sea" @Mortimer - ENGLISH GRAD ALERT! I'd really tidy up that appearance section. "looks like a fairly young man that still resembles a bit like a teenager who is slowly developing" has like five different qualifiers in it. "looks like a teenager who's still developing despite his age" is much better. Also, "leave them grow". - I don't care if he bet Mark Xatuberg on the futures of Poke-Indonesia, $4500 is too high. - I'm going to say right now the Legendary Pokemon are not going to be available for capture. Everyone knows all the legendaries were captured in miracle stretches 10 and seven years ago by a bunch of 10-12 year olds who proceeded to keep them locked in computers for the good of mankind. So Ho-oh is a no go. - "craddle" @Nightrunner - To answer your question, nope. Escapist ex-pat. - I'm not sure how much attention she would avoid detection carrying around a Michael Jordan-level amount of rings. If not the cops then another ill-behaved traveller sure would have lifted something. Might have to find a fence. I'll allow for a bump in money to accommodate this though. [@Plot Questions] - I have literally the first half of the story completely mapped out. Consider it a four year work in progress. I also know exactly where the plot is going and it does factor in every aspect of the Kanto/Johto set of games as well as the anime, spanning the generations. The first couple of chapters will be more for exposition and getting to know the group, but the fun will start kicking off in Chapter 3. @Hella Cute - Yes, definitely still accepting applications. Hell my sheet's not even up yet. I just decided what I'm starting with. - Yes, there are contest halls. Cerulean has become the main destination for Contests, following the lead of the Sensational Sisters of Cerulean, who embraced the format wholeheartedly and have the highest ranking hall in the nation. There is also a hall on the reclaimed Cinnabar Islands. [@My Progress] Like I said, sheets not ready. Been distracted with other things and I need sleep before work. @NeoAC 1) Will be editing the Town/Pokemon once I get home. Sorry for any confusion. 2) Her strongest subject is definitely history/archaeology. Sybil is a failure when it comes to Maths and biological sciences. She's still very much an amateur when it comes to reading scripts (the many notebooks contain cheat sheets that she crafted over the years) and her strongest point might be fossil and stone recognition.

Wow. Never seen anyone do so many in-depth reviews in a single post. Kudos. Anyways, to address everything 1) Yeah, I'll be changing his last name. I just want some irony in his parents being involved in Ghost-type Pokemon, and Edgar being afraid of them. 2) I'm fairly bad at descriptions real life as well. Basically, the image I had in mind was looking like Irvene from FVIII.

Name: Edgar Delano Age:18 Gender: Male Hometown: Lavender town Appearance: Edgar is rather tall at 6'2, and has a medium build with a pale complexion. He has fairly long brown hair, kept in a pony tail, and bangs that touch his chin. His eyes are brown. Edgar wears a large dark brown cowboy hat most of the time and also wears a light brown trench coat with many pockets, along with boots, and gloves on his hand. Personality: Edgar is laid back and enjoys just relaxing. He lives life to enjoy every moment of it, and tries not to stress out about things. His philosophy on life is 'just one day at a time'. He couldn't take the sullenness of lavender town, and tries avoiding depressing situations, which makes him not delicate with people who are down. He just doesn't know how to deal with them. His solution to anything he doesn't know how to deal with is to just leave it alone. He prefers being around happy people, and is happy-go-lucky himself. His family, when he was younger, worked in the cemetery. They often payed respect to the pokemon in that tower, and would often take Edgar along. The Ghastly in the tower often played tricks on Edgar, enjoying spooking him. Edgar hated going, despite his parents talking about how the pokemon's spirits would repay the respect he payed them. His mom loved Ghost pokemon, and liked the tower because of that. His parents threw a fit when the cemetery was torn down for the Radio Tower. Edgar was not too torn up about it, and celebrated the radio. He liked the happy tunes. Edgar always had a happy-go-lucky attitude, and hated how everyone in the whole city seemed to be depressed allthe time. Lavender town was not a place where Edgar could feel like he could just enjoy himself. To escape it, he often was found north of town on Route 10, climbing around on the rocks. One day his parents tried taking him to the Soul House where the graves had been moved, and he flat out refused, and went north to enjoy nature a bit, ending up around Rock Tunnel. He accidentally fell down a shaft of the cave and quickly became lost. After wandering for what seemed like hours he ran into an young Onix, who kept eyeing him. Edgar was afraid at first, but remembered his parents line about being respectful to pokemon and them remembering it. He offered the pokemon an Oran Berry, and asked the pokemon if it could show him where the exit was. The Onix eyed the berry for a minute, then looked back at Edgar before quickly snatching it. It nodded it's head, and took off. Edgar ran trying to keep up with the massive pokemon, before jumping on it's back. The Onix seemed surprised, and curious at the human on it's back, but continued all the same. At the entrance Edgar gave him the rest of the berries he had on him, before heading back home for the scolding of his life. He came back to the cave a few weeks later, to see if he could thank the Onix that saved him. He found her, and started a habit of visiting the Onix and giving her berries. Eventually he nicknamed the Onix Gaia, feeling weird just calling her Onix. It surprised Edgar's parents when his Onix started following him home. Edgar eventually decided he was tired of Lavender Town, and wanted to explore the world. He told his parents he wanted to leave. He lied to them and told them he wanted to become a great trainer, and became a champion. Really all he wanted to do was see the world, but he didn't think they'd let him do that. He officially bought a pokeball for Gaia, and started his journey. He initially went wherever Gaia would take him. During this time, he started studying the different berries of different areas. A few mishaps, and he started learning which ones would do what by watching the wild pokemon in the area. He started to feel guilty though that he wasn't becoming anything great like what he had said, and he started to head to Pallet town, the starting point of all great trainers. Even if he wasn't going to amount to much, he might as well give it a try. Notes/Other: *Edgar enjoys travelling by lazing around on the back of his Onix. *Edgar prefers keeping his pokemon outside their pokeballs whenever possible, even with a pokemon as massive as Onix. *Scared of ghost pokemon

@Hella Cute After talking with Raven, since Marill is a Pokemon that can be birthed directly from an egg that still evolves, we are going to allow Marill as a starter. (Also happens to affect my character as well, so that helped deliberations.) Fine, still works for me. Following the eruption eight years ago, the Cinnabar Volcano stood for three more years until a side of the newly formed cone collapsed into the ocean, allowing sea water to come in and flood the chamber, creating something of a towering bay that split the main island into two halves. The lava has given way to a fine silt, giving Cinnabar some lovely white sand beaches and the tourists are beginning to flock yet again. It also helps that Fire trainers were quick to repopulate the island, given how close old Blaine is to retirement. There might be people hoping to catch his eye, or even move in to set up a new non-Fire gym in a nod to the Cinnabar Volcano's own retirement from active duty. @Ganryu To be fair, that was over a night and a days work. I kept getting distracted by things like Archer and Youtube and what not.

He received his Axew when Auntie Claire brought him along on a trip to Unova for a conference on Dragon-types and their relative prevalence in Unova in an attempt to give him a 'special' Dragon of his own compared to the dratinis and gyarados that all his other friends had. As for the money, I reduced it considerably to a $500 account, which should be reasonable considering parents sending their kid out into the world to make money by gambling on monstrous cock fights. As for his talent, was that a mandate to change it or a raised-eyebrow-but-alright? I have actually met quite a few misanthropic teenagers in my day that were excellent judges of character and people's intentions--just because they didn't like them or chose to seek attention and act out didn't mean they didn't understand, and often times were pretty intelligent when it came to seeing power dynamics and manipulation tactics having used plenty themselves. I can change it if you like, but I at least don't find it as outlandish as you do.

Appearance:
Soft flesh, small shoulders, and round cheeks give the impression of a child, something Sybil definitely is not. Growing up in the sunny town of Dewford, Sybil was blessed with rough, tanned skin and a near immunity to the sun's harmful rays, a useful power for one who spends most of her days journeying. Long, pale brown hair falls down to her waist, thick and sleek in appearance despite it's constant habit of frizzing up. She often ties it back to keep it out of her way during expeditions, though her inability to make ponytails usually leaves it to a simple ribbon at the base of the strands. Smoky blue eyes glare out from beneath side swept bangs, constantly clouded with thought, and they only brighten at the sight of something that excites her interests. Rather thick eyebrows curve downwards, giving Sybil a perpetual look of annoyance.

Her face is round and child-like, though the angles of adulthood have begun to cut more prominently through the softness. Cute features stand out among her tanned flesh, a small nose and doll-like lips add on to her young appearance, and long lashes curl downwards against round, dull eyes. Her body is curvy, genes blessing her with a near hourglass figure despite her short stature, but she is far from unhealthy. Muscles line her arms and legs from years of physical training and cave exploration, and she has very obvious abs.

Normally, Sybil can be found in a yellow rain poncho, with the hood up to shield her face and her body surrounded in sleek, yellow fabric. The cloak was a hand-me-down from her mother, and was mostly used for traversing Hoenn's Meteor Falls. Sybil clings to it like a lifeline, though. and feels practically naked without it. Underneath she wears a blue-white striped tank top, a short, dark blue parka, and jean shorts that fall just above her lower thigh. Hiking boots are the norm for footwear, and she has a strange looking bracelet, inscribed with ancient runes, on her right wrist. (5'2"; 120 lbs) Horribly Rough Sketches + + +

Personality:
Cold, blunt, yet surprisingly empathetic, Sybil isn't exactly as mean a girl as she could be. Spending most of her life in caves or museums has really taken out her people skills, and while she has been able to grow extremely close to Pokemon quite quickly it is quite the opposite for humans. Bonds of trust always seem to fall short in her hands, as her constant cynical attitude often pushes people she may have been close to away and her harsh tongue keeps strangers far from her biting wit. Growing up with a historian and an archaeologist has lead Sybil to be a rather knowledgeable girl, at least, when it comes to rocks and dead languages. When it comes to math and even the most basic chemical sciences Sybil is far from a genius, often getting flustered at the thought of having to solve any sort of equation. Ignoring her inability to be a mathematician, she can read most ancient languages, and has a keen eye for rocks and fossils, as well as anything else that piques her interest.

Her thirst for adventure is great, and she is not afraid to get down and dirty when the ideal quest comes along. One particular childhood dream she remembers is her wish to be a treasure hunter, someone who would traverse even the most dangerous cliff-sides in search of the golden wonder of knowledge (and anything else that comes along with it). Sybil often jokes that if there is a rare artifact at stake she would give her life to protect it, and though she may laugh about the idea it is most certainty a true quality to her. Knowledge of the past is important to her, and if anything that could possibly tell her a new historical fact or lesson is in danger Sybil will risk everything to defend it.

Alone, Sybil is quiet and observant, making sure to keep her eyes, ears, and mind open to the world around her. Without the presence of people and the plaguing noises of cities and voices she is ultimately peaceful, almost pleasantly tranquil, and her expression always softens to the point of no recognition. Forests and mountains are her favorite places to sit in think, far from the pollution that plagues towns and cities and the people that gaze down at her with eyes and hearts full of easy-to-notice emotions. She is easily annoyed by loud noises and people who seem to always whine or beg for attention, and can resort to harsh yelling if pushed to her breaking point, which you truly wouldn't want to wish against any man due to her already blunt-way of speaking. She has a biting wit, almost always having something to say back in an argument, and her sense of humor is often dry and normally based around obscure rock-puns. While Sybil may get into fights often, she would never raise her hand in an aggressive manner, knowing very well how much pain a single human can wrought against others with a simple slap.

Sybil is happiest when she is with either her closest friends/family or friendly Pokemon since she feels as though she can always trust them. When completely and utterly relaxed and calm around her friends Sybil can appear to be more playful and kind, maybe even a bit clingy, and if she feels truly safe around you she may hold onto your arm, hand, or clothing. She can be very protective of her closer colleagues, defending them with the entirety of her being, and she has a strong, liberal sense of justice. Despite appearing somewhat cold around strangers, Sybil is easily effected by other's emotions, and can almost seem bipolar in crowds due to the fact that there are just so many feelings to pick up on. Due to these emotional swings she prefers to stay away from large groups of people or Pokemom, much preferring those she has gotten to know or can feel relaxed around. Despite her somewhat antisocial behavior, Sybil is plagued with Monophobia, or the fear of being alone, and because of this she is almost always craving travel partners.

During battles she is focused and cunning, as well as observant, and while she isn't exactly to knowledgeable on battling she knows her Pokemon's strengths and weaknesses and uses them to her advantage. Sybil can spend days simply writing and remembering facts about Pokemon, finding their habits interesting and powers to be quite baffling, and from this form of studying she is able to discover their abilities and flaws with relative swiftness.

Talents: Knowledgeable in many ancient languages. Can distinguish stones and fossils particularly well and has a knack for exploring caves and ruins. Somewhat empathetic as well, making her good at guessing what others are thinking/feeling simply by being near them and observing them.

Biography:
Hailing from Dewford Town in the Hoenn region, Sybil had a rather peculiar childhood. Her parents, though always busy with work, loved to teach her about rocks and fossils and history whenever they had the chance. They loved her dearly, and wished to share their knowledge to make her as bright as can be. Her father, Rodger Goldon, even took her on a few (easier) expeditions when she was old enough to go along, and Eryn, her mother, constantly taught her how to read and write with many ancient scripts. Sybil was instantly attached to cave exploration and treasure hunting, and once she hit the age of eight she instantly began wandering the nearby towns in search of caves to explore and ruins to investigate. Days underground exploring or inside studying didn't exactly give Sybil a lot of choices when it came to friends, leaving her to be somewhat of a loner.

Eventually, her father's work sent him out of town and soon out of the region, leaving Sybil alone to turn over already turned over stones and sigh with boredom as her mother became much more intense towards her work. After finding all she can around the nearby towns and losing interest in watching her mother's back, Sybil turned to a particularly spiritual woman on the island for fun. She visited that elderly woman everyday with questions and thoughts, and in return she managed to learn a bit about the emotions and levels of Pokemon. Though she didn't have much of an interest in Pokemon earlier in life, in her pre-teen years she became very much entranced with their habits and feelings. While exploring caves she also took a moment to glance at the Zubat nests and smile, feeling their serenity though she wasn't sure how. Chris eventually got to know many of the cave and sea Pokemon around town, though never truly caught any of them to train or battle. She simply enjoyed venting to them and watching them in their natural habitat.

One time while exploring the Granite Cave for the twentieth time (probably), Sybil stumbled across an odd egg. Totally abandoned, covered in dust and deathly cold. She took no time to scoop it up and take it home. After allowing it to lay in the warm sun for a few hours it moved, only slightly, and Sybil watched over it daily, caring for it like a mother. The first time it moved was a month after Sybil discovering it, surprisingly. On the same day, Sybil's mother approached her with a ticket; apparently her father had received a spare pass to Kanto by mistake and, with permission from mother of course, wondered if Sybil would like to explore a new region. She took the slip in a heartbeat, nodding enthusiastically, and it seemed the egg could feel her excitement as well, for it started moving to and fro with sudden liveliness.

In the next week, she was packed and shipped off to Pallet Town. Her father had mentioned something about her joining the Pokemon League, and though Sybil felt a bit skeptical due to her lacking knowledge on battling he assured her it would be a good learning experience. On the boat ride over, the egg suddenly hatched, revealing the mysterious Pokemon to be a very, very small Aron. Sybil quickly thought up a name for the small being, Lapis, which would be Latin for stone. He was a gluttonous little thing, and Sybil quickly grew fond of him despite his constant attempts to chew at the steel railings that lined the ship. With a new region to explore, a Pokemon League to attempt, and her first Pokemon under her belt, Sybil decided to look towards the future with ambition.

Shortly after her arrival to Pallet Town, Eryn Goldon received a call from one of Kanto's archaeologists. Apparently, Rodger Goldon had gone missing after a sudden cave collapse in Mount Moon. Sybil has yet to be informed.

Notes/Other: Sybil's father can be used for any plots you have in mind, in case you need some smart fellow or an archaeologist in the future.

Updated a lot, I really wrote this character a few months ago so I rewrote her personality and appearance to hopefully flow much better (did not change any of her core aspects at all).

Starter Pokemon: Chichi (Lv 5 Chinchou) Water/Electric

Biography: Claire was born on the legendary Cinnabar Island; once the home of the Cinnabar Gym and the Volcano Badge, Cinnabar was a common stop for many trainers in Kanto. However, a few years after her birth the entirety of Cinnabar Town lay submerged in lava as the town’s trademark volcano sprung to life. Luckily, the Hawks managed to escape the lava flow on the back of Claire’s father’s Gyarados by way of Route 21, which ends in Pallet Town to the north. There, in Pallet Town, the family settled in with relatives and made an honest living fishing for Kingler in the 21.

Three years after the destruction of Cinnabar Town, part of the volcano gave way and the ocean swept in to silence the volcano forever. Former residents were eager to repopulate the island, including the Hawk family. Still keeping with the fishing trade, Mr. Hawk taught his daughter everything he knew about fishing and the two fished side-by-side for hours on end. As if by fate, fishing would become Claire’s gateway to pokemon training.

One evening, on a small fishing boat off the coast of Cinnabar, Claire and her father had cast their lines and waiting anxiously for the Kingler to take a bite. Mr Hawk’s line tensed and was pulled quickly down to the ocean’s floor. However, this was no Kingler. Mr Hawk pulled back on the line and reeled in, the pokemon grew closer and closer to the surface,

“Claire, grab Gyarados from my bag.”

Claire nodded and fumbled around her father’s bag for the small poke ball that he kept around, she pulled it out and handed it out to her father. Mr Hawk took the ball and it expanded in his hand and with a grunt, he tossed the ball high into the air and in a burst of red lightning, a mighty Gyarados materialized above the dinghy.

“Gyarados, bite it!”

Gyarados roared and plunged down into the water, snaking down outside of view. The waters grew increasingly unsteady until finally the line loosened. The atrocious pokemon again broke the surface of the water and snaked its way around in the air above the boat.

“Thanks, Gyarados,” Mr Hawk said with a grin, tossing a poke ball back into the air, it collided with Gyarados and in a flash of red lightning he was gone as soon as he came. The ball fell into the bottom of the boat and Mr Hawk reeled in the catch - a chinchou. He pulled the weakened pokemon up onto the boat and looked it over. The chinchou wormed around in the bottom of the boat in a vain attempt to return to the depths of the ocean.

“What will we do with it?” Claire asked as she looked down at the creature. Mr Hawk dug around his bag and pulled out a blue-and-white net ball, he held it out to Claire.

“Here,” he said, “Capture her.”

Claire took the poke ball and it expanded in her hand. She gasped and dropped the ball onto the chinchou, the ball opened and its iconic red lightning engulfed the angler pokemon. The ball stood still for a brief moment and shook once, the button on the front glowed a bright red color and it made a drawn-out beep. It did it again. And again. Then it stopped. Claire stared at it and up to her father. He nodded, “Go on, take it.”

Claire reached out and picked up the poke ball and held it in her hands.

“What’re you going to name her?”

Claire looked at the poke ball and back up to her father, “How about Chichi?"

Mr Hawke chuckled, “A great name. Alright then, let’s get Chichi back to the pokemon center, she deserves a rest.” He took hold of the oars on the row boat and captained the boat back to the shore.

Since that day, Claire and Chichi have been nearly inseparable - from the moment that Claire came back to pick her up from the pokemon center, the two would almost always be seen with each other. Now that Claire’s become eleven, she’s finally prepared to begin her first Pokemon adventure - tackling the eight gym leaders of Kanto - with Chichi at her side, she made her way to Pallet Town to meet up with fellow trainers, to become the very best.

It won't completely fit, though I can change it. I didn't want to do Celestial Tower either, because it was too far off the coast and probably isn't much of a "tourist" location. Edit: Small change done to app. Changed location. Also, the reason a bunch of people are packing money is because of they're basing it off recent Generation prices...and the player in Gen V and VI usually starts with $5000, if I'm not wrong. Edit 2: Everyone likes to have their characters be adults. XD

Yeah, I should have explained the currency situation. Basically I'm converting Pokedollar prices and awards from their Japanese counter parts to American prices by moving the decimal over two places. Because given the amount of mass production done, I don't think Pokeballs are worth $200, and so on. I'm still goo with having a solid amount of money, since people will need food, medicine, all that good stuff.
