That is a metric fuckton of points to take.home, especially in a bigger ranked tournament. WOTW gets 16 alone.

How about the winning pot be, in that idea, based on how.many the winner faced. For an 8 man that's 3, at say 200, so 600 points total.

They'll still get points. So long as they don't gamble them away.

So what Di the rest of you think?

100 Points for winning.
25 for losing
50 for a draw
150-200 for a tournament win.
Wager system they causes a loss of points if you bet and lose. Perhaps a minimum of 25 points for the wager. Or betting of.items instead.

If Mahz can't code this in then perhaps someone could create a thread and run the numbers. Same thread could be sort of a depository for current/completed ranked fights. Including in such the participants, judge, and wager. Like a link to the fight.

Because we know no matter how many apply to be a tourney people don't always post. You can make it 100 or 150 per each person who makes at least 2/3 posts before dropping out. The idea of winning a tourney should be worth entering. Or make the tourney worth X amount for first second place. So perhaps 1000/750 for 1/2nd place.

I'm just worried about the amount of catch up most will have to do, 1000 to the leader, and most will.need 10 just to catch up. Ultimately I'm fine with the first second and third place points, and if the rest are fine with it, then it can be official. Gotta be fairly democratic. hahaha.

In mine I try to replace them, if.its early enough.

Well I guess but honestly there is going to be a divide already between really good fighters and the average. I would rather face the best than the average.

Maybe make it so tournament points (or a certain amount) are only for gambling and don't count towards point total, so if you can incentivize it with a lot of points without completely making it impossible in some cases for someone to catch up.

How about thus for the mind.

Using the point wager system. Say everyone involved puts up X amount of points.

Going th 100 with 8 people.

Winner gets 400. Second gets 250-300. Third gets 100-150

I think getting a total bonus of 100 X however many people you defeated is the best way to regulate it. It makes it more simple as a gauge around the board, remember that there are a lot of tourneys that spring up and people choosing their own values for the victory could skew the leaderboards. Where-as no one can complain that whatever the circumstances beating multiple people in a row deserves an added bonus, and it will regulate itself by providing more of a bonus in individual tournaments based on how many people you yourself faced and defeated.

And ultimately, someone who wins a tournament (with the average number of people you have to beat to obtain victory usually falling around 3-4) probably deserves 300-400 points outright, that will set them above the rest, but they would still be reachable within double that many individual victories (which are easier to obtain after all, not requiring the win streak.)

So at the moment we're at wagable points(gained via tournament used for waging in normal fights)

Points per everyone who posts
Points wages by everyone then distributed among top three.

Eh? The 100 x people fought is the bonus, I'm an advocate for still receiving 100 points for every fight you win within the tournament.

I agree with this.

So if your character looses their sword, it would be funny if they find a slightly different colored sword for the next battle. But on a serious note, if you do loose your sword, if it's reasonable they could get another one then I don't see a problem with it. The people betting should know how rare the equipment would be.

At this point I am indifferent towards what we use. I just want something so we can get started.

In the end, it will end up with the better individuals out distancing the less skilled writers. Which isn't a bad thing. Might as well stick with something simple. So I vote for your idea Rilla.

Ah. I musunderstood you it. Makes more sense then.

This would also mean that the one-and-dones will get 0. I suppose I can live with that. Though that would depend on the style of tournament.

Or would losers still get the 25?

I'm mainly saying for things like a steel sword that you could logically find almost anywhere. It's kind of their fault for accepting a wager for such a common item or they just want that character's for whatever reason. Maybe to add insult to injury. Now if you were wagering the ultimate sword of dragon exploding then you'd not be able to justify finding another one.

That's what I thought you meant. mundane items and the like can easily be replaced. But I don't suspect most will be going for those anyway without some underlying reason.
