Everything was so loud...
The rumbling hum of mechanical hardware buzzed out with the symphony of scrapes and clangs that bellowed in the darkness. The whirring wail of robotic joints called out from the corner. A faint tapping and scratching noise hissed from below as something skittered by. A cacophony of muffled voices whispered in the background. Above it all, the harmonic thumping of metallic bangs closed in, growing louder in volume with each thump.
"Have you seen the latest batch of meat?" Asked one of a pair of armed guards walking down one of the brightly lit corridors within this facility. "Yeah. Looks like trouble if you ask me." Replied the other guard as they approached a large door, one of only a hand full lining the back wall at the end of the corridor. To it's side, A blinking interface panel covered in series of buttons, screens, and card receptacles. "One of them passed me in the hall earlier during rounds. Dude was built like a shed." Several blips and beeps faintly rang out as the guard punched in access codes and slid a card across the key input. "That's nothin man...you work a job like this...you see things that you might wanna forget."
The hiss of hydraulics and pistons echoed about the hall as the massive metallic doors separated into plates and compressed into the walls. Behind the doors, another rather complicated looking chamber full of monitors and various devices that silently hummed as the processed data and displayed information. Reclining in his chair with tired eyes traced on the readout of a monitor was another guard. "Wake up private! It's break time." The weary guard turned to see the two who walked in, looking on with an expectant and exhausted look on his face. "Shift change?" He asked, picking a bit of crust out of his eye. "No man, orders say Wraith goes to the newbie meetings today." Onlooking eyes glanced over to one of the monitors with a bright green display. A night vision camera looking out from the upper corner of a darkened cell slowly moved back and forth, overlooking an ample young man laying inside of what almost looked like a coffin. The camera focused in on his face, which looked out into space with emotionless eyes. "Doesn't this guy sleep?" Asked the taller of the guards, staring down at the monitor. As he moved in closer to inspect the subjects visage, the feed flickered and his blank gazed was fixed on the camera lens, catching the guard by surprise. Cringing a bit and breaking his view away from the monitor, the guard shook his head and rubbed his temple in angst. "Just drop the containment network and lets get this goon up stairs so I can take a lunch at the commissary."
Suddenly, the cell lit up as several LEDs flickered on. A small roach scuttled across the chamber floor, aimlessly darting across the ground for cover from the illumination. -Warning. Disengaging Multi-Matter Containment. Warning.- An automated voice blared out over the cell block intercoms as the ceiling reclined and the bed in which Wraith laid began to ascend, pushing him into the above chamber where the three guards awaited his arrival. "So whats the deal? This guy aint a jail bird so why's he bein lobbed in with the others?" Shrugging, the shorter guard approached 221. "Alright pinocchio. I guess it's time to go play with the real boys and girls." 221 quietly listened, standing from the chair and following the three guards out of the interlocking doors of the chamber and down the hallway toward the lift that would take them up to the dining hall
