Isaac heard a voice behind the door and he was damned if he was going to let another human flip onto the 'dark side'. Slicing through as much as he could, throwing what he couldn’t down the stairs, Isaac cleared the door way after a minute of gruelling work, his hands covered in cuts and splinters. Trying the door, it was locked. Just his luck.
"Get away from the door!" he yelled - through the thick wooden sheet that stood between him and a life.
Running up the stairs he jumped from the top and onto the small bar below the level above and swung his legs forward, letting his body follow. The door collapsed under his weight after his feet pushed it half open over the lock. Landing on top of the door, he looked at the woman with her pistol in her hand and noticed she had just dropped an empty mag.
"Reload." he said.
Pulling one of the tables from the other side of the door at the bottom of the stairs, he blocked the dusty hallways up as best he could against the gang of perhaps a dozen or more walkers making their way toward the two of them. Kneeling on his good knee, he readied his rifle and aimed - fired. Pulling the bolt back and seeing the case fly onto the floor he fired in the walkers again.
He heard the click of a reloading pistol, and continued to shoot. In tandem the two survivors shot into the dead that walked unflinchingly towards them, knocking them down as they came. And that’s all they seemed to do, keep coming.
