Ba'al, Caracas, Venezuela
Things were going well, as far as Ba'al was concerned. More troops and materials were pouring in, allowing him to set up a dominant hold on the countryside surroundings the city. Thus far thought there had been no signs of life, indicating that if there was civilization on this planet, it was not nearby. As far as he was concerned that was a good thing though, since it meant that he had more time to prepare and to plan.
As it stood, many Jaffa and Kull had come through, with staff cannons for anti-air emplacements. Included in these transports had been Al'kesh and Tel'tacs, providing him with some aerial and orbital capacity. More would be nice, but it would take some effort to widen the breach enough to bring a Ha'tak through. But that was alright, he could manage.
For now though, he was waiting at the breach that had been made, as a new shipment came through. There was a person that he very much wanted to meet, and this would be the one that brought them here.
At last it came, the opening widening before it began disgorging troops and the like. Leading them was whom he had come for, and Ba'al grinned as he walked up to the taciturn figure. "Teal'c, how fares things on the other side?"
"They go well, my Lord," Teal'c replied as he looked over to Ba'al, holding on to a staff weapon. "The others look forward to hearing of your exploits." That was hardly a surprise, but Ba'al expected no less. The nature of the Goa'uld would not be changed so rapidly, even under his rule. He would manage as best he could. And if they betrayed him, well, he was untouchable here.
Still, Ba'al grinned, patting Teal'c on the shoulder. "Of course they do," he commented before turning around. "Come. There is much work to do." That said he walked off, expecting his First Prime to follow. Indeed they did, and he would not waste his time. All as planned, really.
Ruiko Saten
While Ruiko had been hoping that someone would notice her signals, she hadn't been expecting such an arrival, as something crashed down with a loud thud near her, drawing her attention away from projectile launching. Initially cordial, she shifted back into a defensive stance as she saw the giant masked figure, one who was eclipsing the sun and most definitely didn't look human at all. And that was beyond the strange things she had seem with Kihara.
For a few moments she was that girl again, the powerless Level 0 faced down with the unstoppable force of an Esper that could tear her limb from limb without opposition. There was the undeniable impulse to flee, to run until she was safe again, with this thing far behind her. With the situation she was in, it was what a reasonable person would do.
Then she shook her head, affirming her resolve. No, no, she would not run. That was why she had used the Level Upper, so that she would never have to shirk from a fight ever again. She might be outmatched, but she would not go down easily. She could only wish that she still had some of her projectiles left, but she had used them all in the fight with Mikoto. Still she prepared to fight, hand reaching back for something, anything, even as she lowered herself, ready to sprint away by the same token.
By the same token, she couldn't help but notice that he knew she was an esper, surprise flashing across her face before it settled into hostile distrust. That didn't matter. What did matter was the situation at hand, and this obvious threat. "Who are you?" She'd give him the benefit of the doubt for now, but the minute he tried something, all bets were off.
