Act 1: Paradise - 3:42 PM.

The story of Academy 218 begins with the boat ride there. The fresh and old group of students were sent to a coastal city in Alaska via plane, before they were placed onto the boat. The boat was a large, white, luxury Cruise ship. With plenty of places to sit down, as there were chairs, sofas, and more, all littered throughout the three floors presented to the students. Students of all genders, ethnicities, and backgrounds were on the boat. The tall Academy building could be seen looming overhead.

Kiri "Kai" Anaru, & Jessica Sharon Rosefey Jr.

... Instead of enjoying the view, Kai spent nearly the entire trip sleeping. Yes, sleeping. Sitting peacefully in her chair, with her hair slung back, and loudly snoring. Sitting right by one of the windows on the lower deck with a table right in front of her. Despite the auditory chaos going on around her, Kai was capable of staying asleep. Nothing short of hitting her would wake her up.

And even then, she'd go back to sleep.

What Kai didn't notice was that her control over her chilling aura started to slip. Even through the heavy blue winter coat she was wearing, and baggy jeans, her piece of the room started to chill. Well, this was a gradual process that took place mostly because Kai was in the room for awhile (Mixed with the fact that they were in the Arctics). A layer of frost filled the room, and it quickly started feeling like a refrigerator. Students started shivering, and looking around. They saw that the center of the cold-splash was Kai. Going off all the ice that surrounded the table.

"Hey! Why did it get so cold all the sudden?" A girl shouted.

"Yo! It's that girl!" A boy pointed at the sleeping Kai. "Wake her up!"

It wasn't a moment before a boy came up, and kicked the table that Kai was sitting. Which immediately woke up the bear-like Polynesian girl, and left her rather groggy. Kai looked around, and saw the boy, tall, Hispanic, and had a terrible beard with spots and shit that wouldn't look good on anyone.

"Hey, Fatso, wake up." The boy said, hissing at her. "Cool the refrigerator act, fatty."

It took a moment to realize that Kai had managed to freeze the room. She immediately looked around, and her cheeks went red with embarrassment. "Oh, I'm so sorry!" She said, legitimately remorseful for what she did.

"Yeah, you better be-" He grinned, slamming his fist on the table and breaking it. Giving Kai a very frightening look. The girl was a tad afraid, she's never been in a fight with another Metahuman before - nor does she ever want to.

"Hey, hey," A red-haired girl came to Kai's defense. Wearing a wide-brimmed cowboy hat, jeans, and a button up shirt. All with a red and blue vintage letterman jacket over it. She put her hands up and looked at the boy. Wasn't afraid for a second. "She was clearly asleep there, bud. While she could have been more careful - you're acting like she did it on purpose."

"She needs-"

"All she needs to do is be a little bit more careful." The girl said, giving the boy a narrow glare. "Know how many times you broke something?"

"How about you mind your business?" The boy hissed at her.

"Nope. All you're trying to do is act tough." The girl put her hands on her hips and gave him a sarcastic grin. "Look, I know that the teachers here aren't going to like the fact a fight started right on the boatride here - and they're going to like it less when they hear that I almost trashed the boat, trashin' you."

"You bitch."

The girl took off her hat, and smirked. She showed the horns on her forehead. "Sorry, kid, might wanna get your eyes checked. I'm a bull, not a dog."

"You-" He said, balling his fists. Before he unballed them and shook his head. "Know what? I'm out." He turned off and started walking away.

The girl's demeanor didn't change for a moment. She put her hat on the table that was broken, and then shook her head. "God damn, I hope the whole damn school isn't full of guys like him." She turned back towards Kai.

"Thank you for that." Kai said very softly, nodding her head.

"Don't mention it. I didn't want anyone to interrupt your beauty sleep." The girl flicked her hat upwards a bit. "I don't think I would want to see you turn him into a snowflake anyway."

Kai nodded her head.

"Oh yeah, name's Jess, yours?" Jessica asked.

"Kiri - but everyone calls me Kai."

"Well, Kai, it's great that I met you... Though - brrrrrrr - you sure made it cold down here."

"Sorry, I can't really help it." Well, Kai could, but she'd have to concentrate. And concentrating took too much effort for the girl.

"Hey, that's why you're coming here, right? To make sure things like this don't happen anymore."

Diana Jolene Lucker, & Wendy Emily Lucker.

"Put down the camera." Diana hissed, peeking over towards her younger sister who was hellbent on annoying her with that camera.

Wendy, her younger sister (Though, that was a tad hard to tell given how damn taller she was than Diana), was standing at the railing, taking pictures of everything that she found interesting. And it went on for hours. All while Diana was sitting here in the chair. "What?" Wendy said, raising her eyebrow, and staring her gruffer sister right in the eyes.

"You've been dicking around taking pictures of everything since we got on this dumb boat." Diana moaned, rolling her eyes - followed by a sharp narrow. "I'm getting sick and tired of hearing a god damn click every five seconds."

"What, no!" Wendy said, grabbing the rather expensive camera tightly in between her hands. She put her hand out to the wide open sea. "Do you see all these shots? I think I saw Anchorage on the way here!"

Diana rolled her eyes yet again. God damn Wendy was a real piece of work sometimes. She wished that she could have been there earlier so she could show Wendy what life is really like. Instead of Dad letting her laze around all day reading books, and other stupid shit. Well, it is what it is. Like this whole stupid trip to this stupid school. Annoying.

Diana shivered. She wished that she didn't wear a skirt, now. She underestimated how cold it'd be. Even though she was wearing a blue sweater that matched her skirt, her short legs were shivering. She pulled her skirt down a little bit. "Hey, Wendy, how about you make a little fire? I'm fucking shivering here."

"I told you; you should have wore pants." Wendy smirked a bit, holding the urge to laugh.

"Don't give me that shit, Wendy...." Diana trailed off, defeated. "Because I'm two seconds away from setting you on fire."

"You know that won't work." Wendy shrugged. That wouldn't work because she'd just adapt the fire power from the flames, and become immune to heat.

"Damn it." Diana said. Know what? She had the perfect thing that'd help with her heat problem. She started looking around for a moment, and realized that little attention was on her. Perfect, perfect. She hunched forward a little bit, and pulled out her cigarette, and lighter. Giving the area a cherry scent as she lit it.

"You know you're not supposed to do that here." Wendy chided.

"What are they going to do, arrest me?" Diana rolled her eyes, as she blew a puff of cigarette smoke out of her mouth. "We're in the back of the boat where no one wants to be - actually, matter fact, why don't you go find someone to talk to? You've been back here with me all day. Go make some friends." She pointed towards the front of the boat.

"What? No." Wendy said. "I don't know how many of these kids are delinquents. They might try to beat me up or something."

Diana raised an eyebrow. "... And you're acting like you're not? Or you forgot that library you smashed up." She shook her head. "And you messed that place up good. I can't believe you got busted for starting a fight for something lame as a library book. God damn."

"He-hey!" Wendy started looking around. "It wasn't my fault-"

"It was the drugs, then?" Diana chuckled.

"That librarian was being a jerk." Wendy groaned as she furrowed her eyebrows. "Trying to hit me with a giant late fee because I was an hour late on returning the book." She snarled. "... And I didn't expect that she'd have telekinesis."

"Well, Wendy," Diana said, "Those NEST assholes just can't do their job and want us on a little island where we'll be out of their hair so they can focus on blowing their cash on cheap-ass hookers." She shrugged, taking another deep puff of her cigarette. "You got shafted, right? You don't know who else has been either. So chill and find some common ground with someone."

Diana had a point there. Maybe Wendy will go off and find someone to talk to - mostly because she doesn't want to get cancer from second-hand smoking. She nodded her head and started walking off wordlessly.

"... Show 'em your camera!" Diana shouted, before focusing on the sea behind the boat.

Abigail "Pink" Vincigarru.

The one thing that Pink hated than the fact that she was forced to go to this stupid school?

The boat ride there.

Dear God the boat ride. Pink would rather swim, or fly, there, than sit on this boat full of losers as they gawk at literally everything they see. Hey losers? Ever see the Discovery Channel? God damn. Pink was on the top deck of the boat, sitting on a chair with her legs on the table. Doing nothing but twiddling her thumbs as she waited for the moment she'd get some god damn sweet relief and be allowed to get off this boat. Otherwise, she was wondering if she could fly or swim the rest of the way there.

Pink leaned back a bit in her seat, and looked at the guitar at her side. She could play with that for a little bit, but, honestly, she wasn't in the mood for it. She just wanted off this damn boat already! Part of the problem was probably the fact that it was cold as balls up here. Even wearing a leather jacket, a T-shirt, and rather tight jeans, she was cold. Well, she could fix that a little bit. She created a bit of steam out of her hands, which certainly warmed up her hands a little bit. Along with heating up the rest of her body. A pleased smile formed on her face as she exposed those triangle-shaped teeth of hers. People could notice the steam going upwards.

Now, what the hell should she do next?

Trish Kaitlin O'Malley.

The halls of the school were relatively empty. All that walked them were Trish, and the were students that arrived here ahead of time (For whatever reason).

The loud tapping of Trish's heels hitting the ceramic floors of the halls echoed. Ah, the silence. Trish was glad to be the very first person on the island. So she could have a bit of peace and before the students come and it explodes into an inaudible cloud of noises and shouting. Trish was looking forward to meeting all the new, lovely, students. The woman looked to the side, and noticed that the boat carrying the students was in the distance. It was only a blot - but she was here for so long that she knew exactly when it was coming. Well, she best get ready, she'll have to put on a pretty face and-

Her phone, in the breast pocket of her black suit, started ringing, and she grabbed it.

Maximilian Cornell.

Oh boy, what does the boy wonder want today? Trish smirked as she pressed the phone up against her ear after pressing answer, "Oh hello there, Boy Wonder? How are you doing? Are you cancelling your scheduled visit already?" If only Maximilian could see the wry grin on her face.

"No, no..." Maximilian said on the other end. "I just came to ask you to do a favor."

"Oh a favor... this should be good." Trish said in a sultry tone. "Anything for my commanding officer - Even if I'm not with NEST anymore."

There was a moment as files were opened on the other end. "This might be going against regulations and our agreement with the Academy just a little; but I want you to scope some of these kids out, and tell me who'd be the best to refer to NEST."

"Ooooh." Trish said, laughing some more. "It's my job to shape up these kids. You know how many were close to getting collared and thrown in a cell?" She came to a stop the moment the last word came out of her mouth.

"I know - but NEST is a little short on Agents at the moment. Specifically Metahumans."

"I'll see about it. I'm certain that a few would just love to become a badass NEST Agent like moi." Trish said, putting her hand on her chest. "Otherwise, I'm going to just focus on training them so that they meet NEST standards, and so that they don't go out and do anything stupid that'd get them sent to the slammer." She tapped her foot on the ground a little bit. "I'd hate to find out that they're putting my training to bad use."

"Understood. Don't be overt or anything." Maximilian said. "And... if anything goes wrong; give me a call, and I'll have a team there in no time. Straight from Anchorage."

"Puh-lease, nothing ever happens here other than a fight. The Storm has this in the bag." Trish said, laughing a bit. "Trish O'Malley, out." Trish said, before hanging up the phone.

Well, she best get ready.

Victor Calahan

Victor Calahan stood on the second level of the ferry boat, staring down into the water. His hands gripped the steel railing with unbreakable tenacity and his eyes were wide with fear. For a man made partially out of fire, being surrounded on all four sides by water on a flimsy several ton piece of metal wasn't exactly ideal. What made things worse was the people walking around the upper deck who gawked at his arm like they were cavemen seeing fire for the first time. He felt like some sort of circus freak at a state fair, but his fireproof jacket was packed in his suitcase, which was stowed under the boat. So, his left arm was entirely exposed for what it was. It was the same size and shape as his right, but made entirely of wood, charcoal, and paper, all formed into a human shape. It smoldered just the slightest bit, the inside of it glowing red and a few small flames releasing wisps of smoke into the air. Though the wind blew off of the water, Victor's arm kept him nice and warm. That was one of the very few benefits of his power, he rarely got cold.

He looked away from the water, now staring down at the mass of people on the lower deck below. He let his mind wander to distract him from the water. He thought about the school he was going to, what it would look like inside and what he would learn. He wondered if the people there would really be able to help him, or if they were just going to turn him into a living weapon for NEST. That was something that made Victor hesitant about coming to the school, but the possibility of learning to control his power overpowered his skepticism.

As he wandered off, he heard a voice close to him. He looked to his left and saw a younger boy standing about six inches from his arm, staring at it with wide eyes. "Woooooah, dude!" the kid said, holding up his phone to take a picture of Victor's arm. "This is going on the Snapchat!" Victor grunted and flexed his left arm. It burst into orange flames, sending the kid stumbling backwards. The back plate of his phone was now melted goo, and as he picked it back up it stuck partially to the ferry boat floor, leaving a rectangular print.

"No photography," Victor said to the kid, "Now go stare at something else. This exhibit is closed." The kid ran off, grunting "aw, fuck you, man," under his breath. Several pairs of eyes were staring at Victor now. He shrugged and looked back at the ocean. This, of course, reminded him once more that he was, in fact, on a flimsy piece of plastic and metal surrounded on all sides by deadly churning salt water. His grip on the railing tightened.

"Oh god," he mumbled inaudibly, "why does this place have to be on an island?"

Rori Aherne

Rori had managed to find a spot to sit where it was somewhat quiet, but they still had good views. Even though there were a returning student, and often kept up permanent residence in the academy due to having no home back to, they were still making the boat journey back. Due to the fact that their cousin, Max, was starting at the academy (for reasons entirely unknown to Rori but they could guess) they had been given the opportunity to spend time with Max for a short while. It had been nice to catch up, and it had been far too long since they had last seen each other. They had both changed a lot in different ways.

Unfortunately Rori had lost Max on the boat. They had no idea where she had gone and had decided it was probably best to leave her to her own devices. There would be plenty of time to talk later. And anyway this was a good opportunity to spend a bit of time alone, or even talk to some of the others around. Rori was certainly not adverse to making some new friends from the new students. They did quite like people.

However it was always somewhat intimidating at first. A lot of the teenagers that were sent here had committed some kind of crime, and that did scare Rori somewhat. But that didn't stop them from looking around curiously at the others. It was difficult to do this slyly due to the limited motion in their eyes forcing them to move their head around. Their gaze came to find a few especially interesting looking individuals. They spent a little to long staring at one who seemed to have... an arm made out of wood?

Realising that looking for so long probably wasn't the best idea they moved their head to gaze out at the sea around them. Rori was pretty sure that they could see the academy in the distance... Well it was an almost definite. They did have very good eyesight.

Looking back around at the people on the same level as them, they tried to work out who it would be easiest to start a conversation with.

Synnove Ovesen

This was insanely boring. Syn couldn't say that she understood why she hadn't been allowed to bring her personal laptop along with her. Well that was a lie. It didn't have much power to it but she could use it to do all sorts of things. There was hardly internet when on a boat, however, and she wasn't planning on hacking again. At least not into high security places... That was what had landed her here at least. Something vaguely beneficial might come out of this, at least, in terms of her learning how to use her powers better.

But she could really do without the boat ride. She was sure this was a point where she was supposed to begin socialisation but one look at the others around her had pushed away any thoughts of actually acting upon that idea. There were far more valuable things she could do with her time. Unfortunately most of them were things she couldn't do at the moment. It wasn't really easy to make something when on a boat.

Huffing slightly she rummaged around in the pockets of the thick jacket she wore, which she had pulled on in preparation for the cold weather. She was quite thankful to find both a pen and mostly blank sheet of paper in the second pocket she tried. Smoothing it out in front of her she began to sketch out an idea that formed in her head, a vague planning framework for the next thing that she would program.

It was the best thing she could do to pass the time after all.

Andrea Pasternack

Warm lit cabin rooms, feather beds, mini fridge to hold up all of the students and guests on their way to the academy; all pre-paid expenses on behalf of the dean of the 218 establishment. Such luxuries were not often made available. Boats she were familiar with held small families on fishing trips, or to run along the coast for a refreshing salty breeze to run through your hair. As a California girl, Andrea wasn't particularly keen on escaping the warm confines of her room and gazing outside the window to actually experience the trip outside. But upon receiving the information that they may be docking in as little as fifteen minutes, thoughts crept up on her. That perhaps it would be absolutely lovely to see her destination crawling up on the horizon, and maybe to snap some shots of snow on the rails of the boat, or little flakes getting caught in her hair. She gazed outside of her window, and saw luminescent apparitions hovering above the freezing, dark seawater. A ghastly sight, surely, but Andrea looked at it as a sight of comfort. They were always able to be relied on, no matter where she was. It was safe to say that living the experience desensitized her to ghost stories and movies.

She began flirting more and more with the idea of watching her new residency coming into view, and to stop being some lazy bones and get to know the sort of people she'll practically be living with. She stared at the screen of her laptop.

This Stanford homework has been annoying her with all of its nuances all night.

She slapped it shut and slipped her stocked feet into her heeled boots, pulling the edges around her heel and sides of her feet. From her coat rack, she pulled off a gray wool peacoat, and some furry earmuffs. She hastily wrapped a Christmas-themed scarf around her neck - she never had a purpose for a scarf during any other time of the year. She checked her phone for a brief moment - no service, as to be expected in the middle of the ocean. She hurried to push the door open, and was met with a gentle flurry of snow. Andrea was immediately enraptured by the pretty sight. The wind shifted, and her eyes followed the snow in the air until they landed on the builds ahead looming over the ship.

"Yikes..."

Turns out they were closer than she thought. Five points for procrastination. 'Come on, normally I'm better than this.'

Still, her thoughts didn't stop her from rushing over to the rails, turning around, and taking a picture of herself with the academy in the background. She looked it over. Her favorite smiling pose, snow caught in her hair, the luminosity of her blue eyes was intense, and it really captured the immense trepidation of approaching the island.

She deleted it.

Andrea then stuck her phone out again, and this time, thew a peace sign right against her face, and encapsulated what was basically the same photo again. She giggled to herself out of satisfaction and from the silliness of the situation she caught herself in, but whatever. She figured there was nothing wrong with what made somebody the most happy. She deposited the phone back into her pocket.

She looked up to see the rest of the passengers. Many of them were smiling and pointed at the coming academy, taking pictures much like she was, and others seemed to take it in stride and carried on their conversations as if it were nothing. Snowbirds, like Andrea, were likely hidden away in their cabins. She looked down at the tier below hers, on the main deck, to see a great amount of people getting ready to get off of the ship. On the tier above, there was one person in particular that caught her eye. Though a silhouette in the evening sky, they were sitting on the tip of their tier, facing the school. Their arms were crossed and he was resting his head down. Their legs dangled from the edge. A fairly large person, it seemed. Must be a man.

A frozen breeze took her attention off him real quick. She rubbed her legs together. On the bright side, they won't be stuck on this boat for too much longer. Soon they will dock, everybody will get their things, and everyone will be in the war indoors in no time. Truth be told, there were all manners of people! And certainly, while it meant that some of them were bad apples, she couldn't wait to find all the good people ripe for the picking!

Well, metaphorically of course.

Abraham Gene

Of all the possibilities - that is, the possible routes, alternatives, means of getting to 218 - he had to be stuck on public transportation. His father wasn't keen on getting him private transport after all the shenanigans Abe has been up to, so he wasn't provided with it - just the transport from his Chicago residence to the airport in Alaska. Even then, that wasn't private either. If Abe had a choice in the matter, he wouldn't have gone to a fucking school at all. He's already been there and done that back in private high. However, it was either this or yet another conviction. The shame of going to a public academy was no more shameful than spending a romantic night with filthy inmates.

And by romantic, he meant splitting every one of their sternums.

But honestly, they had it coming the first night around. First time convict? Usually they're easy pickings. They didn't realize Abe was a meta, and had no qualms or hesitation with raising dukes and mopping the floor with them. In a way, a prison sentence was like jackpot where he could potentially mow through legions of scum before the guards restrained him and put him in isolation.

Except that a prison sentence became a stigma and social marker. Set him apart as something worse than the rest of society. And the idea of being seen as inferior to spineless sheep? It set a fire in him.

So the alternative? Live with them. The sheep. Ugh, it was embarrassing to be here. Hopefully there were a couple of gems to be gleamed in the piles of shit. And some girls! Some hot girls, at that! He looked down to see a blondie looking up at him. Her eyes were squinting, an her attention was taken away by a cold breeze. What a shame. So she couldn't see him winking at her? No matter, he could always hit up those fine pair of legs later. More importantly...

Abe looked up at the buildings overlooking their cruise ship.

He had to come up with an idea. Take advantage of this trip however he could. As long as he was stuck with bottom feeders and nancies, he might as well play their game, walk their walk. Flash some cash if it helps, but most importantly, stay the boss. If they're going to be locked up on a island like its a prison, it may as well be one. From his prying, turns out there will be teams in their arena-styled gyms. If there were sparring matches to be had, then that'd be fantastic. Good fun and a social ladder in one. If he could bestow himself king-hood, he could at least make his stay here at least somewhat tolerable.

He didn't know who he'd have to fight. He didn't care. The man has long since promised himself that losing wasn't an option anymore. As much as Abe preferred it, it didn't matter if he won. He just shouldn't lose.

Abraham took a deep breath of the icy air that stung his lungs. The weather here was much colder than winters in Boston, as to be expected.

He decided. At least for now, no show-boating like he usually did. At least, not his power. Only make his power obvious when he has to. Until then, Abe had every intention of making himself known for him. Not for the fact he was a terrakinetic.

But for the fact that if you wanted to win, you stuck to Abraham. That's how it worked in the modern world.

MariaAnd Melissa Wright

Maria and Melissa stood on the top deck of the ship, overlooking the sea. Melissa immediately regretted not taking her sisters advice and wearing jeans instead of a short skirt, she was positively freezing, small icicles were forming on her arms from the cold. Being partially made out of water and dressing in thin clothes during cold weather was not a very good combiniation at all. Despite everything, though, Maria still had it worse. Even in warmer clothes she was still cold, and the cold was taking it's toll on her. She very much wanted to just curl up into a ball and goto sleep, but she also wanted to look at the sea.

"L-let's just go i-inside already." Melissa told her, shivering. Maria shook her head, despite her being sort of cold herself Melissa needed to learn to listen to advice. "Nope. I told you to dress warmer, and you didn't listen. It's your fault, we'll have plenty of time to warm up later. For now, go get acquainted with some of the other people." She replied. Melissa glared at her momentarily before trudging off, "Stupid cold..stupid school. So what if I almost drowned that girl..doesn't mean anything.." She mumbled to herself, wrapping her arms around herself in an effort to stay warm that proved pointless.

Victor Calahan

Someone approached him. Victor turned his head towards the girl as she talked. She was certainly pretty, auburn hair, beautiful skin, and a kind smile. "I think you might be the only person on this boat who's not freezing right now," she said. Victor looked down towards the arm bashfully. Very few people these days started conversations with him without bringing up his arm first. He shrugged and rubbed his left shoulder with his right hand. A spark shot forth from his arm, danced on the wind for a few moments, and then died. He found it oddly telling.

"The drawbacks certainly outweigh the advantages," he said "but yeah, I don't really get cold anymore, what with being partially made of fire." He smirked, then paused. He was saying a lot. Oh god, he hoped he didn't scare her off by being a chatterbox! He looked back down at the ocean, and then back towards her. God, she was pretty. He tried very hard to concentrate on her face, not wanting his eyes to drift down to...other parts of her body. That happened when he was talking to a girl before, and it didn't end very well. He tried to keep a calm face up, tried not to think about being on a hunk of plastic and metal floating in the middle of salty death, tried not to think about what she could be concealing under her jacket and scarf. It was fine, he was exceptional at keeping a calm face up. He hoped she wasn't a telepath or something.

"Being partially made of fire isn't fun when you're entirely surrounded by water, however," Victor said, looking back at the churning sea below him. About now, he wanted to just jump in.

Ha, of course the academy had to be in the north pole. Or close enough anyway. Chloe swore some greater being must have chosen her powers and this academy just so it could laugh at the result. She had been rather enjoying sitting inside with the rest of the students before that girl had lost control of her power and reenacted a scene from 'Day after tomorrow'. Not that she blamed the girl, after all it was the reason they were all here. Still, it had been the reason why she had abandoned the comfy seats and had a look above deck, the temperature wasn't that different.

The sight of the island briefly stole her gaze. It was beautiful, if not as warm as she would like. There were a few other things it had going for it as well. Lots of animal life, which would be good for her bird watching, plus it would probably be interesting. A school of meta-humans, all the drama plus powers, but also a chance to meet others like her and hopefully make some friends. She still found it slightly hard to think of herself as a meta-human, despite the obviousness of her ability. Still, seeing the variety and strangeness of some of the other students here drove it home. They weren't normal. Perhaps the strange feeling she had would leave once she gained proper control of her powers, she would need to ask if some of the other bestial types were ever confused as well. Or maybe not, it might make her look weird.

All in all though, Chloe was pretty happy about this whole thing. Sure the weather was terrible, but the chance to make friends who wouldn't judge her was priceless. Though that asshole who tore into the poor ice girl showed that perhaps she was being a bit naive, it seemed there would always be someone ready to ruin everything.

Speaking of making friends, it was time to get of her ass and go introduce herself to someone. Chloe pushed off from the railing of the ship, her gaze scanning the crowds before settling on someone sitting by themselves on the edge of the tier, dangling their legs over the side. He didn't seem to be talking to anyone and if he wants to be alone she's sure he'd tell her. Can't make friends without taking a risk after all.

Chloe walked up to the end of the tier, looking over at the dreadlocked student as she spoke.

"The academy huh, what do you think it will be like?"

Abraham's ears perked at the sudden noise from behind him, the sound of a fairly young girl, perhaps in her late teens. Abe chalked it up as someone talking to somebody else - people did not often come to him first as a stranger, Abe had an intimidation factor going for him. Normally he'd be more aware, but he's been too concerned with what he was going to do here that he hardly noticed. Despite his initial presumption, curiosity got the best of him and he turned his head to look at the girl behind him from the corner of his eye. She stood there looking over him, a particular twinkle in her eye, seeking somebody out - anybody out - for a nice chat.

'Well, I'll be.'

Not the prettiest of faces, but Abraham gave her guest a warm customary smile out the corner of his mouth. 'I'll take what I can get.'

"Hello ma'am." Abe chirped with his Boston accent leaking through. "Let's see... probably a dump! You know? Food too expensive for what it's worth, dorm neighbors havin' sex next door, the receptionist isn't French, chandeliers with only a hundred crystals instead of three."

For what it's worth, that might have been a low-key worry, but Abe played it like a well-meaning joke. He pulled himself to his feet using the railing, bringing him to his full height... a solid foot taller than Chloe. With the number of layers on his body, it was difficult to see his build, but not so difficult to see why he didn't seem as bothered by the cold as many of the other ill-dressed passengers. A black pea-coat over a leather jacket over a yellow and black flannel - and it was safe to assume that there had to have been an undershirt. He noticed a couple further along the third deck, a young guy, and a girl perhaps not much younger than Abe was - a real beaut - but he was talking to this girl right now. Maybe later...

"You seem yourself like a sweetheart, though." Abe commented. His smiled widened to a grin, showing the world a set of white, hygienic teeth. "Maybe it won't turn out too bad."

He held out his hand to Chloe, noticeably much larger than her own. He could probably crush them if he so wished, but so far, he made every effort to be as sweet as possible. Perhaps most noticeably, however, was the fact that he wasn't wearing any gloves in this kind of weather.

"My name's Abraham. Call me Abe or whatever, it don't matter."

Annie Dufrane

She'd long since gotten used to the sight of the frigid waters surrounding them, content to simply lounge about and enjoy the 'vacation' as much as she could while it lasted. It was nice, save for the frigid cold. She'd much rather be held up in her workshop, coal forge blasting heat even in the strongest winters. Here, even donned up with a heavy leather fur lined coat, it still sent shivers down her neck.

Here, all she had were her Golems. She'd taken to keeping at least one with her at all times, for comfort and slight companionship. A feline shape sat curled up on her stomach, its bronze coat unaffected by the wind. Aptly named 'Kat', he was about the closest thing she had to a pet. Kat stood up suddenly, entranced by the flame sparking up nearby. Annie blinked once, remembering seeing the man sporting arms of flame. Firearms.

With a quick mental command, her pet went forth, seeking the flame. All of her constructs had only mild amounts of intelligence, but they could act reasonably on their own. The construct rumbled lightly, frame shaking as it 'purred', rubbing against the man. For some odd reason, her metal constructs enjoyed seeking fire and warmth. It wasn't a surprise back home to see one or two of her more permanent constructs to be curled up in her forge, enjoying the red-hot flames. Kat, equally as heat seeking, leaped onto the boat's counter, pushing itself against the man's arms.

Annie grinned, having gotten up and followed after her Golem, waved to the two her construct had interrupted. "Howdy. Sorry about Kat, there. He just loves fire. And, since you have literal firearms, he's just supporting your Second Amendment rights." She grinned lightly before holding out her hand to the boy and girl. "Name's Annie."

Well, he was taller than she had been expecting. It seemed she had managed a lucky guess with who to talk to, it seems he was up for a chat after all. She had wondered if she had made a mistake when he took a few moments to answer, but it seemed he was just unused to people approaching him. Not that she didn't see why of course, he was an impressively sized guy. Some might have been intimidated, but she felt that appearances were not to be trusted with meta-humans, and everyone here was in the same boat.

She flashed a quick grin at the joke, but gave a more genuine smile at the compliment. She decided that it felt nice to have some normal interaction for once, which she had missed since the people at her Uni had discovered her 'condition'. She accepted the handshake when Abe introduced himself, his skin feeling almost boiling compared to her own. She had discarded the gloves once she realized that as she didn't produce heat they wouldn't do anything for her anyway. God, she must feel like ice at the moment. She certainly was feeling a little sluggish from the cold, it was lucky that her altered biology meant she could take it without to much trouble beyond feeling like she was underwater. She suddenly realized that a silent moment had passed since he introduced himself.

"Chloe. My name that is, nice to meet you. Sorry, I get a little spaced out when i'm too cold, a side affect you know?" Chloe gave a nervous smile while internally berating herself for messing up a simple conversation. "So, do you know anyone else around here? I have to admit your the first of the others I've spoken too."

Richard Fowl

Roaring waves of sea water rippled into streams of foaming driblets as it clanged upon the aegis of the starboard hull, bifurcating into smaller rifts of perpetual torrents. The breeze was frigid and unrelenting, pulling the warmth of a hushed reverie whilst howling within the subtle districts of the upper deck. Neither did it become a cordial nor pleasant specter for one to embrace as it continuously sailed its lucid threads among passengers who were deemed far from offering resistance to its unwelcoming temperature. Few sorted the unthinkable as they attempted to defy its upheaval, only to be remunerated by a deplorable consequence. Richard exemplified those who took the challenge as if he assumed to be better than any of them. Hands deposited within the warmth of his pockets, thinking it might abrogate the obscure ire of a bitter climate.

Clinging against the steel rails wasn't the best of ideas one could've mustered with. Its freezing surface gnawed a piercing sensation that stirred one's already fragile equilibrium. Nevertheless while being reasonably aware of it, Richard pursued as to balance himself from the vessel's bowed shifting. He felt the dizziness swirling around his unsettled mind, crawling a forceful retch that awaited its unpleasant release. Perhaps if the cold was far from being a bearable adversary, the unsavory plucks of seasickness seemed worse.

This is not the best time be alive.

As his mind raced against the discomforting furor, Richard tried best to rectify the nagging force when he let a belch of sour air escape from his mouth. Luckily, no one was at his proximity proven the stench left him grimaced, and without a doubt would compel anyone away from smelling it. A stream of his exhaled breath followed, barely noticing a frigid wisp of air decomposing its warmth. He pulled the shade of his hood, partly suppressing from the harsh rigidity of the relentless chill, vaguely fearing the likeliness of a frostbite.

Afterwards, he tried to proceed with a saunter, occasionally limping from a sudden pitch of the platform. Outside weaved a vast deluge of seawater, darkened by leaden foils of frost as his gaze was pulled towards it. The sky was swathed by uneven shades of black and cerulean, and through its extensive layer dwelt meager displays of stars, most unfolding a barely visible glimpse from its gleaming sharp dazzle. Beneath, laid a spacious picture of the academy but Richard mostly ignored it as he continued with his steps, aiming to reach the cabins and grab a thicker jacket. Never did he fancy an idea worse than wearing a filmy sweatshirt let alone pants made out of cotton. Perchance to illogical schemes like these were best buried underneath the domain of his ignorance.

Upon his path came an unlikely confrontation, forcing the youth from his sauntering due to the alluring view of one's beauty. Something was amiss, as if it was pulling him astray while influencing a subtlety of actions to deviate from his jurisdiction. Sights were set towards a blonde girl who stood beside the cabin's door, later on gazing for a particular moment of time as he dazzled upon the elegance she swayed. The warmth of his body easily rose and flailed the girded shivers bestowed by the vile weather, allowing the breadth of his chest to throb wildly from an uncertain feeling that was floundering his firmness.

Hello beautiful.

Words slipped inside his thoughts as a soap would escape from one's clumsy hands. He shook his head by the time he recognized how nearly close he was from falling within mesmerized thoughts. Still, Richard couldn't simply deny how attractive the girl looked but reasoning with his feelings lacked a certain notion of his understanding.

"I'd say, the fun they're having down there shouldn't be missed by the likes of you. Then again, we all have our personal definitions of enjoyment. Some happen to find it in the seats of solitude, like me as an example." He expressed a thin, brittle smile while adding an abrupt chortle ― something likely formed from sheepish attempts.

"Richard by the way," He nodded afterwards. "Pardon my intrusion, hopefully I hadn't bothered your time with silence as I failed to notice that my businesses should be of my own."

Truth be told, it was of his main intention and by stating his apology gave him a slight assurance to be noticed, or at least as what he believed. He continued his way inside the cabin while waiting for a chance to let the girl acknowledge his presence.

~Copen~

Copen was leaning on the railing of the top deck, feeling the wind gently lift pieces of his honey-blond hair. The trip here had been pretty calm, despite the fact that they were a whole lot of powered teenagers stuck in a metal tin on the sea. Honestly, he was slightly surprised. The boat itself wasn’t really what he was used to. It was nice enough, but not like his father’s yacht that he’d slept on many a summer’s night. He glanced down at the people milling about below. He was quite a friendly, outgoing person, and yet, he hadn’t taken the steps to make any new friends yet. That was probably partially due to the fact that he’d stayed holed up for most of the trip so far, a little afraid of what was coming his way. He was a bit of a coward, to be honest.

But now he was ready to meet new people. He pushed himself away from the railing, and headed down the stairs. It took him around the back end of the boat, and he saw a girl with a camera walking his way. Her face was young, but she was quite tall. Copen had heard that there were some very young kids joining the academy – he didn’t entirely feel comfortable about it, 10 year-olds learning how to fight or whatever they taught here. But she wasn’t that young – not at all. Probably around a year or two younger than him, he was guessing. And although not particularly striking, she looked friendly enough; which was more than he could say about some terrible piece of work that had scowled at him in the corridor…

“Hey,” he greeted her. “What are you taking pictures of?”

He’d once been self-conscious of his strong German accent, but had eventually grown out of it. After all, it was a part of him – and he spoke perfect English otherwise (most of the time). Some people might have shied away from randomly greeting people and asking questions. He didn’t. After all, how else could he make new friends?

Melissa Wright

Melissa walked with a permanent grimace around the boat, she was freezing cold and yet her sister told her to go out and meet the rest of the students. Most of them were already talking to someone else, or in a group of their own, not to mention the fact that she knew she didn't like talking to people especially when she was in a bad mood. And she was, even though it was her own fault, she was mad at the fact that she was so cold. Why of all places did the school have to be in Alaska? Why not a nice warm place like Florida, or Hawaii, or even an uncharted tropical island, an area 51 kind of deal? Sighing, she continued to trudge around the ship. She figure she'd at-least half-ass the whole 'meeting people' deal if it would please her sister. Everyone seemed relatively normal, well as normal as your freaky mutant person with potential eye laser powers could be, except for this guy with a burning hunk of wooden charcoal for an arm. But of course, one of the only people Melissa was halfway interested in was already engaged in conversation. Sighing she continued on her search for 'interesting' people. Eventually she happened upon a girl with pink hair and a..shark..fin? What.

She was definitely interesting indeed, maybe even moreso than Flambo the Magnificent that she passed by. Against her better instincts, she decided to walk up to her and talk to her. What was the worst that could happen, she morph into a shark and eat her? "Hey there, nice fi-..I mean hair. Nice hair." She told her. True, the fin looked cool and all, but Melissa wasn't sure if the girl minded that topic about herself being brought up. "I'm Melissa, by the way." She added.

Rori Aherne

Now hearing voices, and curious as to what was going on, Rori turned their head back towards where people where. It seemed that the man with wood for an arm was now chatting with two other people. Turning their head slightly again Rori looked at these two people. They considered going over and introducing themselves, after all it was easier to enter a conversation than start one.

It took them a while to decide but eventually Rori stood up and moved over to where the three where talking. They didn't say anything at first, looking awkwardly at the other three from the side and trying to decide whether to just change their mind and go back over to where they had been sitting. However... they were going to have to make new friends with the new year. There were a lot of new people this time, it seemed. Rori recognised very few of the people around.

Deciding to stop being a wimp, and have some confidence in their social abilities, Rori managed to get out a few words to the three people who were talking. "Apologies for being rude, but I was wondering if I could enter this conversations. Introductions do seem like a good idea." They smiled. "I'm Rori."

Synnove Ovesen

There was no more space on the paper. Great. Now Syn was bored all over again. Hopefully they would reach the island soon. Then she could locate a computer, or start building more things. Though she would have to speak to whatever room mate she got, which could be interesting.

With a frown Syn crumpled up the piece of paper, stuffing it and the pen in her pocket as she stood up and walked outside. The air was brisk and cold but it could be worse. The choppy water around them was something she could do without. Getting wet didn't particularly mix with electricity. Because of the coldness there were less people outside, thankfully, and she ignored those that were.

The reasonably tall blonde rubbed her hands together with a shiver but didn't move back inside for the warmth. They'd be there soon, hopefully, and she would have a better view of the place as they came into dock from here.

Victor Calahan

@He Who Walks Behind @SirBeowulf @FernStone

The kiddie pool remark actually made Victor laugh a little. He smiled and let go of the rail with his left arm. He touched his left forearm with his right hand, feeling the heat that it emanated. It was hotter than most humans could withstand without burning, but his powers allowed him a certain immunity to its heat. He looked down into its reddish glow and shrugged.

"You make a good point there," he said. "I doubt it's going to get much warmer this time of year. If I need to go near water, I can take the arm off, but if this spreads I'll be out of luck." A wind whipped off of the sea and brushed the right side of his face. If he focused quite hard, he could still feel the cold burn against his skin. He missed that sensation.

Then the strange metal cat walked up to Victor and began cuddling itself up to his leg. Rather taken aback by this, he looked down at the cat with confusion. Its owner walked up, another girl, though he wasn't quite as taken aback by her as he was Arianna. He bent down and petted the cat. It curled up against him and purred mechanically. He smiled at it. He always liked cats. A conversation ensued, and Victor realized that he had never introduced himself to Arianna.

"Oh, um, sorry about that," Victor said. "My name's Victor. It's nice to meet you, Arianna, Annie." He shook hands with Arianna. Then another person came over. He was becoming quite the popular person. Victor looked back down towards the metal cat. He wasn't very good with people, and he hated large crowds, especially when there were girls involved. With bouncing back and forth between conversations, worrying about drowning, and trying to keep eye contact with Arianna, he was beginning to get quite stressed out. He looked back towards the waves and his fear of water returned. Oh god... where is Casey?

Casey Calahan

@Mr Allen J

Casey was on the second of the ship's three decks, sitting in a comfy armchair and drinking a fruit smoothie with a little umbrella in it. She leaned her head back, staring at the ceiling of the lounge and trying to block out the roar of the teenaged crowd around her. She sighed, Casey liked being around people, especially with all the cute boys she'd seen around, but the noise in he lounge was absolutely unbearable. She felt it begin to get cold. A layer of frost began to spread across the rug towards her. She knew Alaska was cold, but not this cold. She looked up and saw that the frost was coming not from Alaska, but from a girl sitting in an armchair covered in ice. She was fast asleep, despite the noise, and as she snored the frost spread farther across the cabin. People began to look over at her with hostility, and one boy, a real piece of work, walked over to her and began to curse at her. Before the girl could react, another, a redhead, stepped between her and the boy and defended the ice girl. The boy walked away, fuming. Casey followed him with her eyes as he walked. Fuckin testosterone.

She finished her drink and then, placing it on a side table for someone else to deal with, got up to walk over to the redhead and the ice girl. A boy began to move towards her chair. She stared him right in the eyes with a look that said 'If you take my chair, I'll break your neck.' He stepped away and occupied himself with looking down at the drying rug. Smiling, Casey walked over to the two girls.

"Hey, that was pretty ballsy of you back there," she said to the redhead. "Sure you would've taken that little pussy out with one hit, though. The guys who act tough are always the weakest."

Andrea Pasternack

@Scoundrel

Her apparitions were always something like guardians. She's so far been able to do something such as having a conversation with them, but they were apparently a team. Asking certain questions seemed of her reach, at least for now, and such questions sometimes included interrogative questions. To some, there was no answer, only dead silence. They at least had the coordination cognition and complex decision making to choose whether or not they could speak or address questions. So even with all the time in world, she's been unable to find out if her apparitions actively scanned the brains and thoughts of all people, especially potential threats, in what she assumed was an effort to protect one of their own vulnerable kind - as how they perceived Andrea - or if they could passively receive their thoughts as though they were signal waves.

Regardless, they've been infinitely useful.

When Andrea had her back turned, several voices slithered into her mind, wispy and breathy. "RED MALE. ENCROACHING FLANK. AUDIO ANOMALY--"

Andrea whipped around to meet face to face with a red-headed boy around her age, scruffy looking and as though he didn't take much care in his appearance, but eager, to some degree. She knew some asshole intellectual elitists back in high-school with a similar value, but ironically, they didn't seem to understand the idea and purpose behind keeping neat and proper appearances, or the importance behind it and proper hygiene. She hoped this one wasn't like one of them.

"--AROUSED."

The expression on her face fell flat. She really hoped that this boy wasn't like one of them. She'd give him a chance, though.

"I'd say, the fun they're having down there shouldn't be missed by the likes of you." The stranger said in greeting. Andrea was slightly taken back by the abrupt formality in a sea of excited children and young adults. He continued,"then again, we all have our personal definitions of enjoyment. Some happen to find it in the seats of solitude, like me as an example."

'Oh my. He's definitely laying it on thick.'

In a way though, it was somewhat refreshing from the usual banter. She expected to meet interesting and unusual people on this excursion, and she had to say, she wasn't quite yet disappointed in the first ten minutes.

"Richard by the way," the boy introduced himself as with a curt nod. "Pardon my intrusion, hopefully I hadn't bothered your time with silence as I failed to notice that my businesses should be of my own."

He retreated into the warmth of the cabin, where he would await in comfort for whatever response Andrea had to give. Red flags were raising in her head. Did he walk himself into her own quarters?

"Nonsense, fine sir," Andrea said in a playfully teasing manner and similar tone, puffing up her chest, "for there art no other way to play in introduction with thine self!"

She dropped the silly behavior and squeezed behind Richard and the doorway and positioned herself between him and the rest of the room where her belongings had resided. She sighed and crossed her arms, shifting her weight on one foot, hip to the side.

"My only question is how your own business 'pertains' to my things." She commented critically. She shot her blue eyes at him, and while definitely displeased, did not come across as intentionally mean. She still wanted to give him a chance, despite the creepy factor. The apparitions didn't label him a predator. He didn't seem to want her stuff. At least not at the time. To be honest, it was her own fault for leaving the door open in the first place.

Abraham Gene

@Verminlord

The moment Abe touched her hand, he felt a chill shoot up his arm. Damn, this girl was a walking fucking ice block. Why wouldn't she be indoors in weather like this if it gets to her so bad? He contemplated the idea of, at least for scoring extra points, of extending the favor of sharing his wool coat for the time being until they went indoors. But the risk involved? Maybe the likes of her couldn't measure the worth of possessions, but his outer coat, unlike the kinds of others he saw on board (like the gray one the blonde girl wore on the tier below him), was carefully knitted virgin wool and cashmere. It was fitted, and at least worth a fifteen hundred dollars. It was top tier stuff that'd help keep even the pickiest nancy warm in this chill weather.

Decisions, decisions...

"Chloe. My name that is, nice to meet you." The girl introduced herself. "Sorry, I get a little spaced out when i'm too cold, a side affect you know?" Chloe gave a nervous smile. That much she didn't need to explain to Abe. Girl reminded him of an old friend that froze himself for fucking fun or something. "So, do you know anyone else around here? I have to admit you're the first of the others I've spoken to."

"Can't say I do." Abraham admitted. Honestly, he wasn't even thinking about that at the moment. His mind was still stuck on the moral quandary presented to him. Worst comes to worst, he could always hunt her down. The school couldn't be that big. Boston and Chicago were bigger.

"Here." Abe said, finally resigning and taking his outer layer off. It still had the warmth of Abraham's body clinging to it. He hoped he wouldn't have to regret this. "You look cold, yeah? Go ahead, wear it for now. Just... be careful with it."

And who said chivalry was dead? Well, Abe did. Time and again. Not when it was convenient, though. Then he was all about it! What's more, it might even attract the admiration of onlookers. There was no downside!

Aside from risking the coat, of course.

"Heh," Jess said, turning towards the girl. Wow! Taller than Jess herself and kinda hot if the country girl had to admit. She grinned a bit as she faced Casey. Ah, she was talking about that jackass who was harassing Kai - speaking of that darlin'. Jess turned her head towards the girl, and saw that she was asleep again. Ah, just let the sleeping dogs lie, huh? Jess turned back towards Casey and grabbed her wide-brimmed hat by the top, and took it off. Showing her horns yet again.

"Ballsy? That's just the tip of the iceburg." Jess said, as she shrugged. "Sure as hell wasn't going to let that bully beat the snot out of her. Besides, I think he realized that I'd take his upper body off if I punched him." Jess flexed, and showed her rather bulging muscles through her shirt. "But, don't need to start a fight - on the first day of all days, sweetheart. Gotta save those for later, heh." Jess started laughing.

Jess took a step back, and put her behind on the table - and immediately got right up when she remembered that it was a goner. A frozen block of ice. She don't want no frost-bite on her ass. "But, before I continue, I'm Jess, from Texas. You? You look like you come from a giant city." Jess started laughing.

Wendy Emily Lucker.
@Chicogal

Oh. Wendy wondered if this was the kind of person that Diana wanted her to meet.

The boy walked up to her, being tall, blonde-haired, and European (Wendy could sense the German accent in him). He was quite interesting... Attractive even. Though, Wendy wasn't the type to gawk over every boy she sees. She has work to do! When he asked about her camera, she looked down. There was a twinge of excitement developing inside of Wendy whenever she shows off the fruits of her labor. In this case, being her various hobbies. Like Diana said "show them your camera".

"Oh!" Wendy said, as she quickly pressed a few buttons as she went through all the photos she took. "I've been taking pictures of things all the way here. I got a few shots of Anchorage, too. Come look." She presented the small screen to him. Showing pictures of Anchorage, islands, and even some whales!

"Oh, um, sorry if it seems like I'm showing off - I just like taking pictures, yeah." Wendy said, shaking her head. "I'm Wendy. I... came here with my older sister."

Abigail "Pink" Vincigarru.
@Shikaru

The activity of the boat made picking up individual scents and sounds impossible. Which is why the shark girl gave up on it.

Figuring that she'd just relax on this boat, and wait things out. Which is why the untimely arrival of Melissa caught the girl a tad off guard. Pink raised her eyebrow (Which was also dyed pink - a feat in and of itself) as she turned her head towards the girl. Some little brat that was barely out of puberty. Typical. Had this bored look, and terrible outfit on that made Pink think she was a terrible attempt of dressing up like those Bratz dolls. Despite her rather harsh criticisms, Pink knew that this boatride was boring. All kinds of boring. It'd drive anyone mad! Willing to seek out and talk to just about anyone. Which is why Pink was going to be as friendly to the girl as possible.

The first thing she brushed off was the almost comment about her fins. Which made her flash her teeth... a threatening display. Even for a moment. "Thank you, I put so much effort into making my fucking hair amazing." She replied. The girl's name was Melissa. Heh. Pink knew a girl named Melissa. And she didn't have fond memories of that crazy broad. Heh. Hopefully this chick will be different. "... Abigail - but call me Pink. Everyone calls me Pink." She started laughing. Now, the conversation was going to get mighty awkward unless Pink came up with something.

There was something about juvenile delinquents getting sent to this school. This brat looked the part. Probably got bagged for something lame like egging someone house, or getting caught sucking dick! "So, are you one of those brats that NEST bagged because they can't get anyone to populate these stupid schools?" Pink raised an eyebrow. Blunt, and to the point, Pink is.

Jesse Martinez

The Hispanic young man had been sitting in his luxury cabin for the majority of the trip, isolating himself from everyone else. He had never talked to or even been around people like himself and socializing with them made him a bit anxious. Ironically, he used to be a part of a crew of street thugs that 'feared nothing' but all that went out of the window knowing there are people like himself or people who can set things on fire with just a stare. He sat on in a chair with his knees up to his chin, shaking his foot in anxiety as he heard other students from outside of the cabin. He had to accept the facts. It was either this school or maximum security prison with no powers. That's the part that scared him. He was so accustomed with these freakish powers that he couldn't imagine a life without them. Oh well. Anything was better than being at home with people who judged you for things you couldn't control. Robbing a bank and being a hoodlum, he understood however.

Jesse thought he could cope with being on this luxury cruise ship for as long as possible. This was something he never thought he would see in his lifetime. However just the thought of being in the middle of the ocean made him feel like he was suffocating. His claustrophobia began to kick off in full force. After shaking his leg nervously, he stood up from the chair in his casual clothing with just a beanie and a grey jacket to keep him warm. He took a slight breath and proceeded to phase through the door of his cabin and walk outside to the front of the boat to get some fresh air.

Once he was outside, he walked over to the railing and started to breath in and out, the arctic cold causing him to see his breath as he exhaled. How come no one told him he was going to be sharing a school with Santa and his elves? He was from the south so this type of weather was not for him. Just as he thought he was getting a bit better, his stomach began to churn. Before this he had never been on a boat so he had no idea what seasickness was. Until now. The color from his face began to disappear until he was ghostly white. Sweat began to drip down his face as the dizziness began to set in and his balance began to dwindle. He even went as far as bumping into a few of the students who were talking nearby.

"Hey dude watch where you're g-"

"Fuck off," Jesse said to one of the boys he collided into. He caught a hold of the rail and looked for something to release his bowels in. He could feel his vomit began to creep up his throat as he ran straight for a nearby trashcan. Upon sticking his head inside, he began to throw up into the trashcan without hesitation as a few people stopped by to check on him.

"Are you alright? I can go find a nurse or something," an African American girl said to him as she peeked over from behind.

"I'm fine. Just leave me al-BLEGHHHH," he couldn't even finish his sentence as his bowels escaped his system like geyser of green liquid. He squeezed the sides of the trashcan with his fingers so hard they turned blue. Some others had walked by and laughed at the sick boy as he was puking his guts away. After finishing he wiped his mouth and leaned against the wall and closed his eyes, hoping the floor beneath him would open and swallow him whole. This was already a bad start to a potentially worse experience.
