So i figured out something cool. Apparently in the manga there was a bit about shiina her past or something and it appears she is born in like 1500. Thats why she thinks robot dogs are puppies XD. But so people from long ago would also be dropped in the afterlife at the same time as everyone else

I'm dropping by for another announcement (and declaration that I'm alive), while my next post get's ready, so I just wanted to say a few things.

- The NPCs aren't souless puppets, people. They behave like normal people would do, the only diffence is that they are oblivious to everything and aren't humans to begin with. They would be gossiping and afraid of the rain, or excited about the food/whatever else. It's just that they don't notice that your characters are out of place, nothing more.

Like Yuri said on the anime, "Go and slap a girl in the rear to see what happens."

You're right about that, there's no rule about when your characters must have lived, there's no say that they have to arrive in the after life at exactly the same time of their deaths.

Actually, it's even in the anime when you think about it, since Otonashi arrived at the Afterlife after Tenshi and this should be impossible if he arrived at the time of his death, 'cause of spoilery reasons that you know, right?

Kanade had his heart for some time before she died, so it means that he must have died way before her. However, she's the oldest one in the Afterlife on the anime, which is probably a few years of time before she even met Yuri for the first time, there's a novel that confirms this.

Actually, Yui, that does mean that a person can even come from the future (or the stone age), technically speaking, however it's wise to avoid the first because predicting the future is hard.

But playing a cave kid would be quite damn fun, I think.
