"The one with me. Remember, you said anyone in the bar."

"You are such a wanker."

<Snipped quote by Dervish>

"Considering you were drunk... I couldn't help push you over the edge and see how far you would go. It seems you went pretty far, darlin'."

And sorry Dervish, I wanted to explain my reasoning but it took a bit to write it down and I didn't get up before you forced us to drop the subject. However, while they might end up seriously hurting each other in a real fight I wouldn't mind Tia being a sparring partner later on down the road for him. They could both likely teach each other at least something I hope.

"I suddenly feel the need to drink for entirely different reasons."

Oh, no worries. Serious discussion is good, I just wanted to make sure I nipped things in the bud because I was suspecting everyone was on entirely different pages.

Maybe Vellios could teach her about reach, huhuhuhuh?

@Thundercrash Don't worry, everyone I know here's pretty much the most relaxed and fun people you can meet. Hell, Trickster's brand spankin' new to roleplaying! We're popping her RP cherry (sorry Fallen, hands off. I will use the squirt bottle) with this very game, as a matter of fact. It's part of why I joke around a lot and have silly responses, I want to let people know this is a fun place to enjoy yourselves and have a nice friendly relationship with the other players. I've seen so many OOCs where it just comes across as all business and I think that kind of dries up people's enthusiasm. I think everyone here is definitely on board with having a fun OOC, so don't feel like you have to feel excluded or anything like that. :)

I'm not great at dealing with people in the first place, for exactly the reason that we're having this conversation (little too afraid that people won't understand what I'm trying to say and then things escalating from there), but I'm getting better. Those who know me know that I'm a rather snarky bastard once I relax more. And all I'm looking to do is enjoy myself.

@Fallenreaper This is really the reason that Tia made her deal with the Eclipse and is so desperate not to break it: she's good in a fight and difficult to take down, but if people keep trying then eventually somebody will succeed. Her greater experience than Vellios would give her an advantage, but it would be a small one, and not something that she would be willing to stake her life on. Compared to most of the asari that I'm sure we'll encounter, Tia is still an amateur.

I've done a few RP's before, but this will be my first ME attempt. The whole "longer view" idea interested me, and I'm really just feeling this character out as I go along. I don't know for sure what she'll do until the moment I have to write it. Plus, I think we all know how easy it is to fall into the "raar, my character's an uberbadass who can kill a thresher maw bare-handed and blind" mindset.

Depending on how things turn out, though, Tia just might take Vellios up on that offer. Both the sparring one and the more personal relationship. What I figure, it's been probably 70 years or so since she last "embraced eternity".

I would love to learn more about Arima. Family connections can usually reveal aspects about a characters that even the character wasn't aware of. Vellios losing his family is an unimaginable hardship, committed relationships after the fact (even with years in between) could very well be right off the table. It would seem jarring for him, as a character, to be interested in commitment. Regardless, I wanna know moar.

When I read crocodile I cackled. Anything scaly makes a good comparison note for Turians <3.

A lot of his history was watered down for the summary or you all would've had another page or more to read in addition to what's already there except the Spectre mission, for example he knows anatomy because as a ten year old he started to dissect corpse of his fallen crew-mates to learn how to do the most damage and quickly. This included asari, krogan, turians, batarians, and more (humans came later which disturbed his fellow soldiers and got him put through therapy again.)

Armia and him met through communications, she was helping his squadron to a evac when they were retreating. He flirted and flattered her some causing them to get a bite to eat afterwards, which lead to more. She saw the worse part of him when he tried to go cold turkey on the drugs. The bad part, he never told her why he took them and when she tried to wake him from a nightmare...she moved and barely got out of the way, discovering he slept with a knife, when he instinctively stabbed in her direction. This made them separate for a few months while she started to research officially into his background and learned about the Haides incident before making a final realization if she wanted to be with him or not. He told her flat out: He wanted his hell to be his own and if she couldn't understand that, then he understood if she left permamently. Personally, I think Armia held out the hope he would one day tell her the whole story but he never got the chance when Jurdon killed her and the children.

<Snipped quote by Fallenreaper>

Huh...interesting list actually.

He is going to have his work cut out for him...kinda.

Indeed, though that is actually just options as I said. He'll flirt with everyone, including Vallis, even after learning it's not going any where. (it's like being straight and flirting with your BBF outrageously, which can get bad with my Dad and his best friend. XD)

Jesus, 70 years? No wonder why Tia's so uptight. ;D

Actually, I was thinking about the whole Tia and other crew member's concerns about going back to Omega, and hopefully this will alleviate any concerns about them running into their pasts or whatever reason they're afraid to go back.

Omega is made up of a lot of gangs, and it's not just Blood Pack, Eclipse, and the Blue Suns who control large swaths of the station, they're just three major ones that happen to be the most powerful come Mass Effect 2. Even by Mass Effect 3, they were brought down enough that the Talons ended up becoming major players that largely replaced their influence. It's not unreasonable to assume that years prior to ME1 that a similar dynamic exists, and there's a very real chance Hellis and I will introduce other made up gangs that are key players in certain parts of the station just to give an idea of the diversity going on.

As such, not every docking space is controlled by those three gangs, and I don't think Aria would allow that because that's a lot of power right there if they have a monopoly on every single docking space. The gangs tend to control districts, and often times, that leads to turf wars and shifts in power. As for our crew who have a history with those guys, keep in mind these are huge galaxy-spanning organizations that operate everywhere with massive numbers of members, so it would be an insane coincidence for your characters to be recognized by anyone they knew, and even if they were ID'd, chances are word wouldn't leave the guys who made them because somebody's probably dying in a gunfight. Security footage and databases also aren't really universal across the station, and land changes hands way too often to risk having sensitive information stored in all but the most secure locations, so it's not like most sections controlled by any particular gang will have a database of wanted individuals, and even if they do have people who are on their shit list, that's like finding a needle in a stack of needles. I mean, shit; Zaeed openly walks around with a Blue Suns tattoo on his neck and he struts around Omega like he owns the place.

TL;DR= Your characters will be fiiine. Unless I'm a dick and have the only people who will recognize them step out of the washroom and have a Kill Bill moment.

You'd be surprised at how difficult it is to enjoy someone's company when you spend the whole time thinking "how is this person going to screw me over".

It would still be a concern of Tia's, since she's learned to be kind of paranoid. It's the same reason why she'll still wear parts of her armour even when she clearly doesn't need to (often sleeping in the stuff).

I also really don't want to have to change what I wrote, so could we say that it might have been true at one point, but that things have changed since she was last on Omega? It has been 20 years or so.

It's fine how it is! Could also be that that was the impression Tia and a lot of other people have that impression because at this point I imagine the big three are still expanding and seem to be everywhere, but 20 years was a long time ago, might be that those gangs weren't even that big back then, but honestly, it's not something any of us need to worry about and I would feel really bad if you had to go and edit out something that's really trivial in the grand scheme of things. If it's been that long since she's been back, then a lot of what Tia knows will be word of mouth anyways, so it kind of works out in that aspect.

I'm sure but I figured I explain my reasoning so you didn't think I was honestly discrediting her. Providing more than one reason is more than good enough for me, though I promise my PC will leave their mark at least no matter what.

As long as she doesn't try to invade his memories, I wasn't joking about him not wanting to share his hell, he wouldn't mind either. ;)

Old Vellios could likely understand, but present has learned to relax a bit. His whole view is that you're die some day, by old age or prematurely, and worrying about everything will only make the latter happen that much faster.

Kasyra's approach to the sex would be a lot more casual if it was easier for her people. She'd like to have a lot more, but every time she does its guaranteed weeks of sickness at least, even in cleanroom...
Vellios is going to have to earn her trust to get her out of the suit, especially as half the galaxy wants to see Quarians naked for curiosities sake as much as anything else...

And @Thundercrash, I'm sure you'll adapt to the group in no time. We're overall a pretty friendly bunch.

Also, in case anyone was wondering, I shall confirm that Fallen and I are indeed a couple...

There, kitchen response is up. I wasn't sure when Grey Warden was getting his stuff up, but from what he said in the OOC, it wasn't going to be a really major post he was working on. I can certainly edit to reflect his character's reactions and stuff when he gets a chance to post.

I think we're getting to a point where the initial meet and greets are by and large wrapping up, so we'll be moving along to Omega within short order and carrying on that way. I'll probably keep people on the same mission for this first time around just so we can figure out some group dynamics and start and finish at the same time, but things will change up afterwards and there will be cases where there will be a variety of things to do. That said, there will be different stuff for the characters to do for what's coming up, so it won't end up in a situation where someone like Mirage is going to be storming Normandy beach in his pimping wheel chair or Duuka having to seduce Aria or anything like that.
