Yeah, that too.

<Snipped quote>

I'm counting on stuff like what you described to keep it interesting. Mirage will technically be alone in the bridge, of course, but he's instantly accessible to anyone in the party to communicate with. If people remember that and make use of it, I'll be golden.

And if it does end up being boring, I might send him into the field on the next mission. Who knows.

Long as you are content, I'm good. I just hate thinking people are bored when I can try to do something about it, as I said, I've been there and it's not always easy. Though try not to snoop through our things while we're out! :p

Though lets hope someone doesn't try to hack the feeds and blind our little eyes in the sky. XD I imagine Mirage would get rather pissed about that and work toward getting the feed back ASAP, warning people that he's still in contact with that's something's off.

There's a difference between you controlling a enemy mook and another player controlling another player's enemy. :p

I'm failing to see the point of contention here. What you're pushing for is pretty much exactly what I described, where most of the combat is player dictated and acted out. The only enemies that are GM dictated are named characters and major threats that are likely going to require teamwork, think of them as minibosses.

Other than that, I'll generally describe what everyone's up again, add some wrinkles as things go along, and generally just let you guys go have fun. If you want to write combat a certain way, that's fine, but this is typical play by post fight scenes.

<Snipped quote by DearTrickster>

How I imagine this going is that the characters volunteer for particular objectives and form groups (the ones we're outlining in the OOC now) and Mirage a) gives them directions remotely and b) provides virtual overwatch by monitoring comms and hacking into security cameras. Does that sound good to everyone?

Works for me. Feel free to ask any questions or for information for those posts, since Mirage is in a unique position.

@Hellis We do have the rest of the day to decide who will be going with who to get what. If getting coolant was a concern Drono brought up wouldn't it be a good idea for him to accompany Dex for fuel? Or did you have something else in mind.

True, but likely him and Tia @Thundercrash could possibly work together to get a good deal and at least fill up the stocks. Though seriously... does of the crew know anything beyond basic first aid or do I need to up Vellios' knowledge a bit more? With him, it's not unreasonable due to his history, knowledge of how to kill aliens/humans, and I have no issues with him being the chatty, makeshift medic onboard. XD Though honestly, we got everything but the doctor!

@DearTrickster That is true. Drono would likely go with Dex, especially since she is also the pilot and as a gunners-mate he need to be on the same page as her.

Some people see a difference. Even had a GM think I was trying to usurp him because I took control of a NPC then attacked another random player with it, letting us have a fun, back and forward scene. The player and I were enjoying it really.

Exactly what I was thinking. I think Mirage just might be our de facto mission control for every ground run we do.

Also who among the crew has the most experience in Omega?

That's one.

I know Mirage, for another. I think Tia too, if I'm not wrong.

Hazan's worked on the station for several years as a merc, but I won't be surprised if Duuka trumps him in how much he knows since he's lived there. That's kind of a bigger attachment to a place than simply work.

There's Dex too, I think.

Vellios.

Uhh who else am I missing

I'm a bit late to this party, but you are correct. When Tia wasn't working on Eclipse smuggling ships she was usually working somewhere on Omega, and she was born there as well.

That said, Tia will not under any circumstances set foot off the Boreales as long as they are docked at Omega. She's basically just waiting for them to go somewhere where there isn't a risk of her being shot on sight.

She could still technically help with supplies and stuff, but you'd have to hire her, and even then she'd just be talking over communications.

@Thundercrash Couldn't she wear a disguise, like a hood or a helmet? Unless you're really dead set on her slumming on the USS Hepatitus for what could be quite a while real time, there's ways to get her involved without compromising her identity.

That is probably what Hazan is going to do, since he too is a wanted man in Omega.

Being seen and shot is only half her concern, the other half is that she had agreed not to come back. And when Tia agrees to something, she will never go back on her word.

I'm alright with that, I'll still be keeping an eye on things. It just so happens that current events are conflicting with her character traits.

@Thundercrash

At the very least, having Tia on the ship will help discourage people trying to steal it from us... not that anyone would want to steal from us because we have nothing worth stealing yet, but the point remains.

I am going to up Alex's medical knowledge in her history and stuff. So, she is just as likely to biotic punch an enemy into meat pieces as she is to reset broken bones.

So...a non-Salarian, female...biotic Mordin.

I have updated Alex's sheet (expanded upon the Turian teacher a bit more, added in medical learning during younger years and during BAaT. Also put in mentions of Alex applying her medical knowledge in the field (ie setting up a medical area during the Blitz when she wasn't doing her Vanguard duties).)
