Oh, that was an unexpected coincidence. To think that the food-lady from last night would have been the person who inhabited the library. Maybe their fates were intertwined. Or maybe he was just lucky that he encountered someone he knew and who he didn’t feel an immediate urge to paste against a wall. Noting that, from her state of dress and her rather messy hair, the woman most likely would have just recently gotten out of bed to greet him, Arata wondered whether or not he should have waited a little bit longer, before realizing that he didn’t actually care. After all, it was already daytime. People didn’t have any business sleeping in further, especially if they were to be the upstanding citizens and students that they claimed to be.

Brushing some stray cement onto his pants, the oni said, “Good morning, Food-Lady! You own the library? Need some books on Western architecture, preferably one with lots of pictures.”

She yawned for a short moment and nodded with a chuckle. "Goodmorning to you as well. Haha, I apologize but I do not.. however.." Not minding being called 'food-lady' and with that, she went over to the western architecture section she had seen the night before when she was observing all of the books. Placing her finger gently on the books as she looked for a certain one. "How about this?" she asked, taking out a book that had an assortments of pictures inside of it. She then looked at the clock and her eyes widened a bit. Wh-wha.. Later than 5:00 am? She wasn't used to this. The thought that she was up later than 5:00 am surprised her and made her feel a bit ashamed. With that, she handed him the book and nodded as she turned around to enter another room that had a restroom as well.

Katsumi changed into another one of her kimonos that was this time red and black rather than the black and white one she had on the other day. Brushing her hair gently which made it return to her neat state. Then washing her face and she wiping the water off with a gentle cloth, returning it to its previous place and exiting the room after she brushed her teeth. Walking in she faced him and began to spoke, "Did it help any? There are much more books on western architecture if you need another." a small smile formed on her face as she spoke. Either way, picture books were a favorite of hers. They always entertained her siblings and gave her a visual presentation on many things she couldn't see on her own.

~Sorcha~

Sorcha had already turned to leave by the time Katherine left. The dragon didn't feel the need to give the girl a goodbye since she hardly even knew her. She was feeling hungrier by the second. Normally now she'd be asleep, but if she had been awake she'd have eaten twice already. She wanted to hurry up and get to town to try and find some place decent to dine. Now, if only Lukas didn't say something to pique the dragons interest.

"Mind if we have a small chat over that ludicrous statement you said earlier about... you know, not flirting with any lady besides you? Because I think you might of ignored some of my previous statements from earlier..."

"I'm sorry, what was that?" The dragon looked over her shoulder, giving Lukas a small frown. Her tone of voice definitely wasn't a happy one. Lukas had rather abrupt change of attitude, didn't he? Probably because he couldn't hit on Katherine. Well...either way, the dragons frown turned into a small smile as she thought. Well, perhaps he wasn't entirely spineless. Indeed, perhaps this could be fun, then.

"If I did ignore them?" Sorcha replied, turning to fully face Lukas. "You did agree to be my servant for 24 hours after I bested you in combat, didn't you?" Her smile turned into a grin. "Or are you going back on your word, foolish one? Would you really go against a dragon?" It was obvious she was enjoying this. Either from simply having Lukas challenge her, or from teasing the boy it was difficult to tell for him.

"But," She replied quickly. "Let's see...you had the guts to basically say no to me. I think I'll give you a challenge. Breakfast can wait." She took a combative stance, right in the middle of the campus. "Let's see how skilled you are with that sword of yours shall we? One blade, no telekinesis." She held a finger up as she continued. "If, you manage to land a blow on me even once, I shall rescind that command of mine." She smiled, giving Lukas a grin. "You can take as long as you want. All day, if you want too or until you exhaust yourself."

-Livia-

Livia was quite not expecting Katherine to enter her office. She hadn't been listening to her spirits quite so intently at the moment. She was too busy focusing on keeping watch on Sorcha to make sure she and that Oni didn't get into a fight right in the middle of campus. She'd have to subdue them both, and then forbid them from any duels in the future if they did. Sorcha knew better, of course, but if Arata started something she'd have to tell them to take it elsewhere.

"Oh, that is quite alright." Livia replied, sitting down a cup of tea. "I was taking a break from some paper work." She gave Katherine a small nod. "Indeed, I am Headmistress Livia, a pleasure to meet you Katherine. You have quite the...interesting toys, there." She said, casting a glance to Katherines dolls. "Very good Sanctus magic indeed." She smiled softly at Katherine, before getting down to business.

"Do not worry, you have not missed much. The opening ceremony isn't too important. Just know there will be a party in a few days, that's all you really need. And your dorm assignment...hmm...hold a moment, please." Livia summoned one of her own spirits. It was a black, skeletal creature that stared around the room with hollow, empty eyes. It seemed to come from the floor from nowhere, a black, inky voice where its torso met the floor. With a wave of her hand, it bowed before disappearing.

"It shall return in a moment. I do not keep a list of dorm assignments in my office." She gave Katherine a somewhat unsettling seeming smile. "I'm curious. Why would they call you 'the dark witch' hmm? Seems like a rather...ominous title. One I'm not too...unfamiliar with myself in certain circles."

-Lukas Kunze : Probably Going to Get Rekt-

Lukas came to a grinding halt as he instigated something to irk the dragon. The tone of her voice wasn't that of playfulness, rather one of annoyed befuddlement. Glaring at the woman as she questioned what he said, and he defiantly answered back. "I'll repeat it again then. Ahem!" Lukas cleared his throat as he stared at the dragon, his eyes lacking fire, a mouth holding a frown. "Do you really expect me to jump out of a friggin' window without most of my magic? I'm do not want broken bones, so there is truly no way in hell I can go with that command."

There.

Hopefully, this time she heard his plea... which bordered more along the lines of a provocation. While he did nod in agreement over what she said. However, his goat was got when she declared his foolishness, and how it was unwise to go against a dragon. Frowning, his tone was a bit prevalent than before, declaring to go against her wishes; though, in reality, he really just needed a way to vent. "There's a thin line between compliance and just plain stupidity. Sure, I will do a couple of things, but I will not risk breaking most of my bones for something ridiculous."

Lukas' noticed something about her now, something that was different - she was smiling. This only meant she heralded a mischievous ploy to further assert her dominance. His head nudged upward at the challenge she conceived - if he struck her once, she would overturn such a senseless command. His demeanor was the same, though most of the anger had dissipated. It was almost unlikely that he would land a singular strike... but...

"I accept the trial, however..."

... he was going to damn well try.

"... you must not dare to fly upwards to completely nullify any blows; you may use your techniques and acrobatics to avert a strike from bounding off you. Along with that, we will fight on equal terms." Four of his swords shot out of the sheathes, a much quicker pace than of the previous night. Suddenly, two of his blades shot deeply into a tree, barring anyone lacking upper body strength from obtaining them. Next, he unequipped the holsters for each blade and used his mind to set them by the tree; ditto for his satchel.

"You to a blade, and I to a blade, no fire or whatever ability you have as a dragon," he spoke with a certain hardness in his voice. This was it - no more analyzing, no more goading another to learn their moves and exploit their weaknesses. One of the swords landed in his hand, another went towards Sorcha, almost as if it was beckoning her to grasp at it. Lukas' face became much more relaxed, albeit it lacked that losing fire he had when battling Sorcha the other night.

His eyes could be compared to smouldering coals, a straight line as his mouth displaying a lack of emotion or two, making him almost seem mundane. Gripping his sword firmly he looked at his opponent, seeing how she would react. "Tell me if there are any other rules you wish for me to undo, otherwise..." Lukas arm moved up swiftly, pointing directly at Sorcha, unrelenting, despite the odds, the opposition were all against him once again.

Lukas still wasn't giving up.

"... take my blade if you wish, Lady Sorcha, and we shall begin."

He was still determined, despite how outrageous this whole spiel was... but he still wasn't going to give up without trying, not by a long shot.

Katherine chuckled at Livia's comment about the "ominous title" that she held. Well, at least this one wasn't too hard to explain. "I suppose the first part is that people like to think witches and old hermits live in dark spooky woods. Which, as a matter of fact, I did. A very dark, very magical woods. Not to say I didn't see the sunlight, just not as often as I would have liked." Before continuing she made a wide gesture to her numerous, facially blank dolls that stood around the room. Some of them looked at her and cocked their head slightly as she made such a weird movement. "My father, well, I guess 'Master' would be a bit more correct. . . Anyhow, he taught me this ability and told me I had a great natural talent for what he does. Binding the souls of the dead into these normally inanimate bodies."

Katherine gave a loving look over all of the small dolls that were spread about before continuing her story. "So I got the "dark" part from how dark people thought my magic can be. The name spread, but hey, people back home know me by that so I can usually find help every now and then from people that recognized it from friends. In fact, one of them suggested me to this school." With a smile she looked over the headmistress with an inquisitive look before giving a light smile and speaking once more. "So I suppose unless you find my abilities 'dark' as well, then you have little to worry about. I've no plans to do anything especially malicious. I say especially since people tend to think that binding spirits to dolls as I do to be somewhat malicious." She had little else to say on the subject so she merely felt she needed to ask, "Did you suspect me of being in a dark and evil circle of mages or something?" The puppeteer just had to ask. If the headmistress had any weird thoughts running through her head, then they needed to be expelled quickly.

Ylva Edlehjerte

After having finished her dinner Ylva decided that it would be time to finally get a look at her dorm. And so she went, searching for the dungeons. After asking for some directions she had little trouble with locating them. While she made her way over to the dungeons she noticed some of the students behaving rather weird, but didn’t give it too much thought. Instead she just wanted to focus on her bed.

Having entered the dorm, Ylva had to say that it wasn't as bad as she had expected it to be. The room was kind of chilly, yes, but the cold never bothered her anyway as she herself probably felt icecold to other people thanks to her ice magic. The room was kind of bare, sure, but that was to be expected of a dorm at the start of a new school year. The chains were a nice touch though.

Luckily the academy had already arranged for everyone’s baggage to be brought over to their dorms. After quickly unpacking her own stuff and neatly putting them in a closet, Ylva considered doing the same for the other people, however it didn't seem really appropriate to her to be nosing around in another’s personal belongings, so she held off on that. Looking at the time, she decided that it was time to get to bed so she could make sure that she wouldn't oversleep tomorrow. So after quickly changing her clothes into her sleeping attire she went to bed.

After laying in bed for a few minutes Ylva could hear someone approaching. By the sound of its footsteps she could hear that it wasn't a large person, possibly even a child. Pretending to sleep, she could hear that the other person approached her bed. To Ylva’s surprise the child climbed into the same bed and seemed to snuggle up to her. Not wanting to make the child suffer from the cold radiating from her, Ylva changed her body temperature slightly and also slowly fell asleep.

The next day started out early for Ylva. When she opened her eyes she was surprised to see the little girl, euhm, catgirl still sleeping next to her at such a close distance. It looked really peaceful curled up like that. So much so that it would be a shame to disturb her this early in the morning. So without making too much noise and making absolutely sure not to disturb the little kittengirl, Ylva got up out of her bed.

After having quickly changed into a tank top and sweatpants Ylva felt like doing some exercises. Looking around the dorm, she saw that there were some bars attached to the ceiling. They were probably used to chain prisoners up to and then flog them or something. Now however, they made for excellent pull up bars. Without a second thought Ylva tied her hair into a ponytail, then jumped up and grabbed the bar before doing several series of pull ups and chin ups.

After the first few series she decided that there wasn't enough weight on her to make this worth her while and thus she grew two blocks of ice on her feet. While she was still human, Ylva was close to being at peak physical health for someone her age thanks to all the brutal conditioning she was exposed to over the course of her life. A good health was also important for her catalyst, because it was draining on her lifeforce every time she used it. That is why she would always need to keep her good health up.

Without realising, Ylva made some exertion sounds as she kept intensifying her workout. With her feet clenched to the bar, Ylva did a few series of inverted sit ups. However, with the exertion sounds she was making, she did not consider the possibility of waking up the little cat girl.

The Party Hero Melody

And the Gate of Infinity

When Melody said everything, she meant everything... A moment after her arrival the store was left devoid of everything... only the cashier remained in a totally empty room with only the Academy's money promise to go on... so one could say that cashier had a pretty good sale day... as it didn't have anything left to sell... it would probably need to go home now and wait for the redecoration team to do their work as there literally was nothing left.

So how does one carry everything in a store?... Why, Melody was glad you asked. Because down the road floated a Infinity storage cube. It zoomed back to the academy at high speed and then started unloading the store's items in the storage area for the party. The frozen goods and edibles were unloaded in the kitchen and Meldoy then slumped down on the ground a bit exhausted.... even she got tired once a while and this was one of those occassions... yet she felt quite satisfied.

However a figurative Ogre was seemingly attacking the library disturbed her rest. Her head snapped up, and as she started transforming she had but one thing in mind, to become a brute/Monsters bane... Sunlight!... even if it possibly still was daytime it was the most brilliant idea she could think off... thus she became a Sun Atronach. Which was rather close to a Fire version of it... but more lumious, cause that made Perfect sense. Then she zoomed forth and caught up to the boy while he were harassing a lady... "Stop you Fiend!... Or Face sunlight bane... do not harass the library or that innocent lady any longer!"she called as she pointed at Arata... misunderstandings were always fun right?. She stared thought-transferring to their minds to try to find out their strategy.

Adria Solium

Adria was not exactly expecting what she found behind the door. She had seen some weird things, and this didn't exactly top it, but this girl was just lying on her desk as if it was a bed!

She quickly peered out at the plaque beside the door that she hadn't bothered to read, just to make sure she hadn't wandered into someone's dorm or something. However, sure enough, the plaque said that this was the infirmary. Well, Adria would be sure that she didn't end up getting hurt...

Not that she would have time to think that. As soon as she turned around, the person who had been on her desk just seconds earlier was standing right in front of her. This person was quite quick! Adria would not have time to exhibit surprise either. Apparently this would be a running theme with the women.

"Hi hi! I'm Meredith!"

The women introduced herself in a fairly cheerful tone. She then told Adria where she was, which would be redundant, had Adria taken the time to look at labels, rather then wait until she had already looked through the door.

Meredith took a few steps back to let Adria in, which Adria did. As she stepped in, she kept her eyes trained on Meredith. That way she couldn't skip off somewhere without her noticing. Especially not somewhere like behind Adria. Adria was slightly reluctant about all this. The woman didn't seem to be completely there. Or, at least not at the moment. Perhaps it simply wasn't her time of day? However, then she mentioned dorm assignments, and that was exactly what Adria needed.

"Thank you. Um, no. I don't yet. Oh yes, by the way, you can call me Adria. But yes, That's actually what I'm looking for though. That and how to get signed in and let people know I'm finally here.

Adria paused for a second to look around the room, while she waited for Meredith's response.

~Meruin Hazy~

"Merry, darling, you know I love you but I don't like thiiiiiis~"

Walking through the academy grounds was a tiny, lone figure. Her curly hair bobbed up and down as she hopped through the streets with a dismayed look on her face. She held a single gray rabbit in her arms that had a vaguely bored looked about it. In fact, it looked downright insulting with how disinterestedly it stared at everything in front of it.

"What is the matter, Heather? I would think you would be used to my body by now."

Those words could only be heard by Meruin, or at least, by her body. Right now, the one in control of the little girls body was her contracted spirit Heather, a deceased porn star that seemed to be having a less than stellar time.

"I am! What I'm not used to is . . . this!"

To punctuate her cry, Heather lifted the bunny in her arms and let it face her. The bunny's nose twitched.

"What so unusual about it?"

"You! In a bunny! While I'm carrying it! This is all kinds of unusual!"

Indeed, currently Meruin's personality was inside the bunny carried by her body that had been possessed by a porn star. Let that sink in for a moment. Meanwhile, Meruin metaphorically tilted her head.

"Is it? It is nothing more unusual than the usual, in my opinion."

Heather looked for a moment like she wanted to argue, but then gave up and sighed. There was no arguing with Meruin on things like this. The simple fact was that Meruin honestly found this completely normal, so even the suggestion that she was doing something out of the norm was out the window, let alone a proper conversation. Besides, there was no point in arguing anyway. Even if she was by some miracle able to convince her of how freaky this was, Meruin would probably just nod and continue on, likely not caring that it was. That was just how she was.

"Whatever Merry, so what's the point of this anyway?"

The bunny named Meruin settled back into a comfortable position in her body's arms, before responding.

"I want to observe your interactions with other people first hand, obviously."

"But you can do that from in here can't you? Why go through the trouble of body-jacking a bunny?"

"It wasn't all that troublesome. Animals don't normally have strong magic resistance and lack the sentience of humans, so forming a contract with one was a simple matter of-"

"Going of tangent there Meruin."

"-forming the necessary bond and playing its instincts," continued Meruin, unperturbed. "In any case, observation from a different body has a number of benefits. Such as not sharing the sensations of the same body, and the ability to act outside of my body even as you control it."

"Okay, okay, I get it, I think. Just spare me the details. You know I can't handle the details. Seriously, you're waaay to fond of details Merry. I suspect it might be a fetish."

"Do I look sexually aroused as I discuss things like this."

Meruin currently did not have a face that was capable of vivid expressions, but Heather was sure she that Meruin had this completely earnest and honestly curious look on her face that only someone who was absolutely innocent but also completely twisted of morals could accomplish.

"Ugh, nevermind. Where was it you wanted to head over to again?"

"The Library."

"Typical, why can't we go somewhere exciting for once, like the boys dorms? The Library is just so boooring."

"Though I'm sure your eager to once again experience the sensations of fornicating mindlessly, avoid using my body to do so at least up until I am at least fourteen. The loss of my virginity before them will cut-off the number of rituals I am capable of, as after all, virgin blood is a wonderfully strong reagent."

"And . . . that's all you care about? No other reason to avoid your first time? At all?"

"Well, I have a few more, but they all follow along the same line, so practically, no."

Heather in Meruin's body sighed.

"You worry me Merry."

Once at the library, things were a lot more exciting than what Heather expected, though not in the way she would have preferred. Rather than a bombastic orgy over bookshelves and tables, the person in front of them decided to make a scene by announcing his arrival in the loudest way possible, which was followed by some chit-chat that was handily interrupted by a girl that decided the best response was to set herself on fire in a library -- you know, a nice, cramped space filled with lots of paper and wood?

Though Meruin was not in control of her body, Heather knew instinctively what she would have done in this situation.

Which is why she was now walking around the library sticking sealing tags on the wall to make a nice little perimeter while nobody was looking.

Katsumi's eyes widened, staring at the imbecile that had decided to come into the room and attempt to ruin the precious library. Her right eye twitched. "You HALF WIT." she boomed, her voice now raised a bit as she stared the idiot down. "You are the only one harassing anyone in this room right now. What? This is your only solution? Set yourself on fire in a library no less?" Her expression didn't look mad but instead simply irritated. But that was exactly how she was feeling. Furious.

I don't want to get this agitated in the morning... She sighed, a hand on her forehead as she looked at the female like she was an idiot. "Try and understand the situation before you act like a child that doesn't know how to solve simple problems. He wasn't even doing anything..." she said, glancing over at the man and shaking her head. Ogre she says. How idiotic. She doesn't even know what an oni is. "Return to your normal form before you ruin something in here. Please." Katsumi added a please to remain civil and was just now starting to realize why whats his name was ranting yesterday. This place may well be roaming with creatures like this. Trying to act like a hero before even understanding the situation. Katsumi never did have a good temper in the morning. At least she did try not to offend the thing. At least not all that much.

She glanced at the girl that had just walked in. A nice looking girl that seemed to have something called common sense. Seemed to. Hopefully she actually would. "Good Morning." she said, a soft smile on her voice back to her gentle state as she now completely ignored the other girl that had waltzed in.

Oh, that was useful indeed. Sitting down on a bed as Katsumi got changed, Arata flipped through the rather thick book. While the castles featured did look a little larger than he needed, it was still fairly interesting, how inelegant and practical the designs were. From the outside, it definitely looked like just a set of high walls and some fancier buildings within said walls, but the only problem was…

As Katsumi came out once more, this time in a fancier kimono than before, Arata whistled a low tone, impressed. “Here I was, thinking that you’d take at least till noon to get finished,” the oni remarked, “Though hm…are there any books that specifically focus on the interiors? Seems like this one is more about the exterior style and all…though I can’t read, so what the fuck do I know, eh?”

The oni laughed at his own faults then, before suddenly, quite out of nowhere, a magma golem thing appeared, spitting out a bunch of words that brought back unpleasant memories of the tower once more. Fucking really? This little weak-ass midget, with flames that were a whole level lower than a normal cooking fire, was accusing him of even more bullshit? What, did every fucking thing in this godless academy have a hard-on for playing as the shit-eating white knight? A discontented growl rose from his throat, and the oni was very much prepared to turn that golem into sand…until Katsumi intervened with her own brand of justified anger.

In the presence of her wrath, the oni decided to let her have the final word after all, and simply let it go. There was, however, another midget that popped out of the woodwork while that piece of coal distracted him. Apparently, she was pasting seals onto the walls?

“Oi, seal-midget, what are you even doing?”

-Livia-

"One of my precious little students? Evil?" Livia laughed. "Please. Living in a forest and making dolls isn't dark in the slightest. Binding spirits too them isn't all that bad either, really. I can think of several...darker uses for them." The headmistress sighed, though she gave Katherine a smile. "So no, I do not believe such things make someone a 'dark witch'. People really need to be open minded. Besides..." Her voice took a darker turn as she poured herself some more tea.

"Real Dark Witches don't hide away in a forest, do they?" Livia asked, bringing the teacup to her lips and taking a sip. "They are the ones you least expect, aren't they? A politician, for instance. Or maybe a local bakery. Or even...the headmistress of a certain academy, hmm?" Her words carried a bit of an edge to them, but before anything else could be said, the skeletal spirit that she had sent off to retrieve the dorm schedules returned, bowing respectfully as it presented her with some papers.

"Oho, seems we've gotten a bit off track." She chuckled, taking the papers as the spirit went back to wherever it came from. Livia took a look at the papers for a second before handing them to Katherine. "Your dorm assignment, the names of your roommates are there as well as the location of it. Is there anything else?"

-Meredith Hillard-

Meredith reached forwards and shook Adria's hand perhaps a little too vigorously.

"Nice to meet ya, Adria!" Meredith said with a smile. "And that's easy, I'm the one who did most of the dorm assignments anyways." Meredith replied as she walked back over to her desk and quickly re-arranged everything that had fallen off back into a mostly organized fashion. "Livia needed help with them, so I did what any good friend would do, and gave her a hand!"

And by that, she meant she had done it without her express permission, but details details.

"So, you need your dorm assignment and to let people know you're here...hmm..." Meredith took another seat on her desk, folding her legs and humming thoughtfully before continuing. "I have the papers around here...somewhere."

And as she said that, several fleshy appendages shot out from beneath her clothing and began rummaging through the drawers, cabinets and other things in the room, apparently looking for something about her dorm.

"Whats your last name?"

The Party Hero Melody

Glorius Sand rise....?

Legends would tell of heroic deeds, heroes slaying beasts of legends. Trolls.. .Dragons... Ogres... and wars between mortals and gods. Yet only the curiosity could kill the cat in the end. The fire within her seethed with the brilliance of the sun, yet contained within her form as she peered on the situation that now seemed a lot more boring that she first had anticipated. There was no fight... no screaming, heck there was not even any blood... how can one have a monster invasion without spilling blood?. Melody were disappointed, yet one of the ladies commanded her, or well maybe she just asked her in a rather firm manner to return to her 'normal form' like it was the simplest thing to do. There was nothing normal yet everything in this world was perfectly normal, it was a word invented to cause difference for those wanting to look down on those they didn't find normal.

How would this Girl even know that this Form was not Melody's Normal one?... well she had no clue, all they could base it on were groundless assumptions that she weren't this fiery naturally or would probably have accidentally incinerated them ages ago. They did not wish to see her flames?, but the boy wished to see her turn to sand? a thought she picked up while reading his mind, and To this she smirked, so he wished to see sand?... Well his wish might not be her command, but... she figured she would just do it anyway. "Then the Sand shall consume you~ As ashes turn to ashes... and dust turn into dust... " she said as her body hardened somewhat, changed form and then flowed freely as flames turned into sand and yet she kept approximately the same form but instead wholly made out of several minutes worth of sandy goodness.

She would then try to launch a sandstorm at Arata. A weaker version that wouldn't grind his flesh and bones to bits. It would still probably fill his lunges if he neededth to breath, his eyes if he needed to blink or kept them open... his nose and ears not remaining safe at all as they would likely fill with sand and bury him benath a sand pile. Aimed to simply be more nasty than harmful, he got his wish... and a lot of extra sand on the side with his order.

Vera had been moving so quietly, Alicia hadn't noticed her, so she got the fright of her life when the other girl spoke up. "Eek! Don't do that, you startled me!" She recovered enough to respond to Vera's questions about her powers.

"Yes, plants are my magical specialty, but what about yours? We don't get a chance to talk much, despite sharing a dorm." Alicia saw Vera looking over a patch of flowers with dismay, deeming them beyond salvation. Alicia reached her consciousness out into the flora in question, and found that the root system was still kicking, albeit barely. "No, they're still alive. Let me see what I can do. No promises, though."

Alicia put her hands on the flower's stem and concentrated, willing her magic into the plant. This was just like making a flower bloom, albeit much, much harder. The young witch started to shiver from the mental effort, and after twenty seconds, her willpower ran out. The flowers were looking... well, still not healthy, but there was a trace of green in the leaves, and the petals were showing a little bit of color.

"I did what I could, and I think they can still be saved. They'll need heavy doses of water and fertilizer, though. Get them back up to speed." Alicia weakly smiled at Vera. "And before you say anything, it was no problem. Much better test of my powers than working with healthy plants; that's pretty easy."

Chen Avarice

After Chen finished his bowl of cereal, he left it on the table and exited through the same window he had entered The Tower from. He checked his watch and marveled at how much time he took to eat a bowl of cereal. He looked at the construction crew and sighed, that would be inconvenient later. Chen smiled, shrugged, and headed to The Library. Maybe if he was lucky, he would find some sweet books that his dad didn't have. He would probably write home about it if he could, Chen knew that Greed would want to know about stuff he didn't have. As Chen walked through the halls, he wondered where his roommates were, or if he even had any roommates. Judging by the locked doors he had tried to open, he most likely had at least one roommate. He also pondered why there was no stairway to the upper half of The Tower and why he felt like he heard growling. That last question could probably be answered by the construction shenanigans that were happening outside, but better safe then sorry in his book. He made it to the library and smiled, time for his hunger for knowledge to be satiated.

He walked inside, only to be faced by complete and utter tomfoolery and shenanigans of the highest order. A midget was pasting seals onto the walls while holding onto what appeared to be a bunny, fire was flying everywhere threatening to destroy valuable knowledge that he wanted, there was an aura of death lingering about, people were yelling and calling other people halfwits (what an archaic word). Chen sighed and cleared his throat. He took a deep breath and coughed a little from breathing in such dry air. He rubbed his eyes, which were rapidly drying, and spoke up. "Excuse me madame, could you please refrain from being A COMPLETE FUCKING MORON IN THE LIBRARY?! PEOPLE LIKE TO READ HERE DUMBASS!" He scolded as he quickly claimed a book that was awfully close to the magma. "LIKE WHAT THE FUCK MAN! PEOPLE LEARN HERE! IF YOU WANT TO TEAR SOMEONE APART, I DON'T CARE, JUST DO IT OUTSIDE YOU MORON! DO YOU HAVE COMMON FUCKING SENSE!" Chen looked at the book he was holding and saw it was a romance novel. "This one you can destroy though, these books are absolute garbage."

Cole

“Huh…” Cole had just entered the library and immediately regretted his decision to do so this early into the day. Granted he was probably about to save some of them from a taste of Gall’s scythe, but that just meant he’d have to deal with them instead. He rolled his shoulders and raised a hand, pressing his palm against the wall next to the door frame. Blue light surged through the space between the stones, quickly bathing the entire interior in its soft glow. It pulsed once and then several things happened at once, some of them unpleasant.

Everyone inside, although the oni probably only felt a fraction of the effects, felt a heavy pressure settle over them. Naturally the staff were excluded so they could deal with any troublemakers that did not cease and desist. A powerful supernatural suppression field was now active, and any attempt to resist the effects would simply fail or even result in pain if the person attempting was unfortunate. The ability to draw upon magic completely vanished for the mages within, so unfortunately there was some body shunting that occurred between Meruin and Heather. The tags she tried to affix to the walls also promptly fell off and fluttered to the ground. As for the non-mages? Well they would actually feel weakened, lethargic, and their supernatural abilities unreachable. Naturally that meant Melody was swiftly forced back into whatever her default state was. Since it usually took the shapershifter a few minutes to change completely, it wouldn't be surprising if the violent shift was rather... painful.

Well hopefully that had gotten the attention of everyone inside, but before Cole bothered to address them, he focused on the cloaked blonde. “Huh…” This was definitely something new. There were barely any creatures that could resist the leyline-fueled barrier, but from the feedback he got it seemed that was exactly what happened here. He pulled his hand from the wall and the barrier fell away almost instantly. There wasn’t a need to keep it up since the situation had settled, and the last thing he needed was for whatever the blonde was to take his continued maintenance of the barrier as some challenge. If they did decide to keep acting up, he could always bring it back up in an instant.

“Alrighty, any more problems or do I need to throw people out? Alternatively, I let Gall get to harvesting because he seems pretty annoyed.” True to Cole’s word, there was a chill in the air that radiated from deeper within the building. Light seemed to shy away from the area, if that were possible, and there seemed to be the occasional and faint chime of a bell.

Katherine

If Katherine had to describe this headmistress in one word, she would use freightening. There was that aspect of darkness in her words that made one not want to make a move against her. Definitely a woman to look up to in Katherine's mind. The puppeteer was glad that she told her the title, even if it was just a stupid name people gave her for stupid reasons. Before she even replied to the Headmistress' question she took a look at the note she had handed her. "Shino Koizumi and Ylva Edlehe. . . Not even going to attempt that." She muttered to herself before looking back up at the headmistress and handing the paper to one of her dolls. "So a Japanese girl and some randomly named girl. Got it."

After a bit of thought Katherine started to turn and talk a bit more, "All of one conversation and you instantly earned my respect Headmistress." She said with a smile that showed some sort of interest. "I have no extra questions as of now." She giggled a little and added one last statement before walking out the door with her small army. "I must say though, as a seemingly mysterious dark and beautiful woman, I'm sure you have no need for extra hands. However, should you need any, I might be willing to lend one. Or maybe a few dozen even. Until next time, Headmistress Fiore." With a slight bow as a sign of respect she left thinking to herself how wonderful it would be to study under the headmistress, even for a day. With that spirit Livia was using, there was definitely something the woman could teach an adaquetly skilled puppeteer such as Katherine.

-Livia-

"Dark, Mysterious, and Beautiful?" Livia chuckled as Katherine made her way to leave. Unfortunately for the girl though, the door firmly shoved itself shut before she could leave. Any attempts to open it would fail completely. "My my, it's rare that I am complimented in such a lovely way, my precious little student." Livia offered a small smile to Katherine, leaning back in her chair as she continued speaking. "You certainly know how to make an old woman smile, at least." Her smile faded just a bit, as her voice took a less playful tone.

"I always have need of extra hands." She said. "Especially loyal ones, unlike a certain Pyromancer who does whatever he wishes without thinking of the consequences." She laughed a bit as she stood from her chair. "But that little matter doesn't concern you, does it?" The headmistress walked over to one of the couches that decorated the middle of her office and took a seat. Next, she poured some tea for the both of them, setting one cup down on the table in front of her.

"Come, do take a seat." She gestured towards the spot next to her on the couch. "I do hope you were serious about those dozen hands or so..."

The Glass Lady Melody

Ouch my ears...

Well she were at least going to try to have a bit of fun, then someone new entered the library and shouted at the top of their lunges a feat which surprised melody so much her mind connection dropped quite instanty. Not only that but Chen commanded her in such a loud voice she had no choice but to obey, she instantly seized what she were about to do and passively loomed in the air as her attention were turned to Chen. She didn't really have a good comeback to loud words, thus instead she started floating off towards the door. "Outside?.... ooh okay." she would reply and head for the door again.

There she would see someone who pressed a button by the door that activated some kind of weird stuff in the library. Which slammed against her as a heavy pressure and threw her out of the room, through the door and out into the campus area as she were close to the door by the time it activated pushing her out due to her own momentum. She wondered what was going on, as whatever it was made her more sleepy than ever, it even made her form stop changing in a state between sand and fire, meaning her body now seeemed to be made out of glass instead. Being shattered by the fall in a commical fashion and spread out over the campus yard. She didn't have the energy left to rebuild either, she was already tired from before and even more so now after whatever glow effect were... thus she fell asleep right on the spot.

There was really too much going on here.

That was what Meruin thought as her personality was violently shunted out of the rabbit Heather-Meruin held and forced back into her own body. The sudden shock of sensory overlord briefly caused the small witch to stagger. Thankfully, this sensation was not entirely new to her -- she had grown desensitized to being away from her body before jumping back abruptly, so she regained her bearings in a moment.

Not being able to respond immediately to the apparently-not-ogre and the conventionally attractive librarian woman due to the sudden influx of events, Meruin took a deep breath, before walking towards the two of them, keeping her eye on the possibly mentally-challenged young man and the likely to be mentally-challenged woman that set herself on fire, and eventually ended up behind the formerly mentioned two.

Better to be with the sane ones, she thought.

In response, Heather's voice remarked in her mind: "And you would know who's sane how?"

Ignoring that, she turned to Cole, regarding the chill that penetrated the air of the library with an open look of curiosity. "I would prefer not to have to leave the Library sir, as I do have some important business to take care of. Oh, but by all means please call Mister Gall. He's a rather fascinating subject, and I don't get too many opportunities to observe him up close," she delivered in he characteristically earnest deadpan.

"Oh, and good morning," she said, nodding at Katsumi, before turning to Arata, "and you too, Mister Not-Ogre. As to what I was doing, why do you ask?"
