Interacting with: Ditch, @CloudyBlueDay
Note: This occurred a day after the angst filled out-trance of Levi.

The lock of the door turned sideways and it opened. The figure of Levi entering through could be seen next, and the light smell of incense hit his nose. Levi had just come back from doing his usual rounds, taking off his mask and placing it on the holder whilst taking off his shoes and placing it near the corner of the entrance. He changed his clothes to more casual wear since they had gotten a bit dirtier, then promptly entered the kitchen and made two ramen noodles as per usual and sat nearby the altar, the smell of incense growing, "I'm back again, sis." he said outloud, before he could start eating the noodles he heard a knock on the door.

"Huh." he said to himself, no one really visits so atleast he was a bit curious. He walked slowly and tentatively towards the door, his footsteps echoing across the apartment. He opened the door and found Ditch standing there,

"Hello!" Ditch announced peppily, walking past Levi and into his home without waiting to be invited in. She wore a t-shirt with the superman logo on it, thick, black-rimmed glasses, and casual blue jeans with converse. "Nice place. Incense? Jazzy." Ditch looked around the room, her gaze landing on the shrine. "Hmn." She said, not making any other comment before she turned back to Levi.

"You left in such a hurry. You missed my grand plan! Shame. Anyway. I came to tell you, because I do still want you in."

As Ditch passed him without being invited in, Levi sighed, he should have expected this from her. He followed her close to the living room, but forgetting his manners, walked into the kitchen and made another ramen noodles for the uninvited visitor. Sister always told him to do so. Re-entering the living room once more he placed the Ramen he made on the table and picked up the one he made earlier, "... Fill me in on this grand plan of yours." Levi replied, beginning to finally eat his ramen.

Ditch spun on her heels to face Levi once more as he re-entered the room. "Ooh, ramen! Thanks!" She said, picking up the cup and taking a big slurp of it before beginning to talk. "Long story short, I've been keeping tabs on two rogues, Scarlet Shifter and Wall Walker. They're being stalked by Umbra's men, and I suspect they're going to make a move soon. I'm splitting us up into two teams, we each go after one rogue in hopes we get to them before Umbra does." Ditch took another bite, looking closer at Levi. "Ya got a babyface." She said casually.

He chose to ignore the comment about his face although there was a hint of annoyance on his face, "I see..." he replied, his usual scowl not present instead replaced with a normal expression, one that fits his age "Would you tell me their powers?"

"Wall Walker's just like the name sounds. He can go intangible, walk through walls, as well as walk on them. He's also an expert fist fighter, he's demonstrated his fighting ability on numerous occasions. He'll probably give chase, either because he can, or because he feels threatened. He looks arrogant, from what I can tell." Ditch said between bites of noodles. "Scarlet Shifter can turn into any animal, prehistoric even, but when she shifts, the animals can be up to five times larger then they normally are in the wild. She's a heavy hitter." Ditch frowned. "I doubt they'll let us talk to them at all.. my only goal is to make sure Umbra doesn't take them, or at least open their eyes to the fact that they are on his list."

Levi had heard of these two before actually with them having notable and even impressive powers. It made sense, the plan anyway, that they weaken and divide Umbra's targets. "I got the gist of the plan." he said whilst sipping on his noodles, "With their set of powers, I can go for either, Provided that the teams would be imbalanced, I'll let you decide which team I should go for."

"I might suggest Scarlet Shifter. We need the people who can deal heavy damage with her, because trust me, fighting a giant t-rex is not going to be easy." Ditch put down the emptied cup of ramen (she'd finished it very fast) and wiped her mouth with the back of her palm. "I need you to tell me you'll try to keep your powers in check, though. I like you, Levi. Your power is useful and I'm sure you're a good kid. But I'm trying to make a team here, and we're already fighting each other." Ditch gave a small sigh as she waited for his response.

Infront of his sister's shrine he unconsciously was more cordial, "... I'll see what I can do." he replied in a normal tone, "It did get a bit hectic down there, that was my bad." he continued as he placed down with the cup, "As suggested, I'll go after Shifter."
"If that's all, I'll be leaving soon as well to continue my rounds. Inform me where the 'teams' are meeting up."

Ditch smiled politely. "Thanks. I appreciate it. Really." At his decision, she nodded. "Perfect. I'll be sure to text you the details. See you later, and thanks for the ramen." Ditch turned, and gave a nod to the shrine, before leaving.

Levi also got up, nodding her off, then going to his room and placing his work clothes on. A long black jacket and dark pants. He waved off his sister's shrine and put on his mask before stepping out once more.

Everyone seemed to be picking teams without protest; Ditch was actually kind of surprised. Both Grafitti and Turn Back asked for some leads and info, understandable. "Wall Walker has the ability to go intangible, basically, to walk through walls. His power is a lesser version of Wraith's Density Manipulation, basically, but he can also walk on walls, like Omega. Thus the name." Ditch said. "Every time he he robs a bank, when he leaves, he heads in the same direction. I've not yet pinpointed where exactly he heads after a raid, because he usually makes his way back home in walls, where he can't be detected. But I'm close to getting his location. I should have it within the next few days."

Seeing that Turn Back was eyeing something on the floor, she followed his gaze, and let out a little "oh". Ditch took her laptop and gently placed it back in her backpack, holding something in her clenched fist as she moved towards Turn Back discreetly. "Scarlet.. she's a little trickier. The moment she can, she shifts into the smallest or most discreet animal possible, making her nearly undetectable. I have, however, spotted a scarlet-colored cat with a pearl necklace on heading into an run-down house. I've checked the place out, it's practically abandoned, though there are small signs someone's been sleeping there. I found no jewelry, but who knows. I'm no bloodhound. We'd probably start there." As she spoke, she slipped a few hundred dollar bills into TB's hands, and then sat back down. She didn't even look back at him.

"I doubt Shifter will be human for more than three minutes, so I suggest you go for Walker. Scarlet needs the heavy hitters; Tank, for example, will definetly be a big help. Walker is craftier, slippery. He'll probably give chase. Your skills would be appreciated with him, Raven Tale." Ditch said. She gave the entire room and the people within it a quick glance. Rose had seemed to fall back for a few minutes, but she looked alright now. Turn Back has spoken to her. Ditch smiled. Looked like some people were getting along already, and that was all she could've hoped for.

"Otherwise.. I think we've been here long enough. It's nearly 2am. I will be sure to contact you at our next time of meeting, and if you have any questions after we disperse, your best bet would be to swing by here, HQ. It's open to you any time of the day, and more often then not, I'll be here."

Omega was surprised at how quickly people were choosing teams. Despite how crazy everything had started off, everyone seemed to be eager to do their part. He wondered if this was just temporary bliss or if things would always be this easy-going. Only time would tell.

“Well, now that we have our first assignment, I’m gonna head on out. Got a few things to look into before this whole team business starts.” He turned to their new ‘leader’ and gave her a small salute and a wink. “Ditch.”

He put on his earbuds as he walked toward the door. He took a last glance back at the room.

An actual team of vigilantes. This is really gonna get interesting.

Omega stepped out into the night and the once again stale air. He was glad the air inside wasn’t as bad - a little dusty, but that’ll clear up in time. It was completely dead, save for some trash blowing in the night breeze. Even the streetlights were out in the immediate area. Ditch sure picked a nice spot for a hideout.

He instinctively picked a direction and started walking. The place he was headed wasn’t far - just over the river. As he started to get into more residential territory, he ducked into an alley and made his way up to the rooftops via wall sprint. Traveling on higher ground usually meant less obstacles, and Manny didn’t feel like running into any problems. He cruised the rooftops letting the music guide him and determine his pace. The cool air felt nice on his skin after being in the stuffy auditorium, though he did feel a bit grimy from the dust. He’d get a shower later when he got home.

Omega reached the edge of the neighborhood near the bridge and looked out at the river. There wasn’t much traffic this time of night and the water looked like black glass. The lights from the bridge and the starry sky danced on the rippling surface. It was kind of beautiful compared to where he was headed. After his brief moment, Omega continued down to make his way across the top of the bridge. The dark clothing along with the lateness of the hour kept him from being too conspicuous. When he reached the other side, he quickly returned to the rooftops. He was now in the older part of town, where the buildings are more brick-and-mortar and the architecture more gothic.

He travelled until he came to a condemned building that appeared to have been destroyed by fire. The sight of it brought a sudden sharp pain to Manny’s soul. He didn’t usually get this way, but, truthfully, the feelings were overdue. He sat silently as he studied the charred remains. The structure was actually still intact, but the inside was extremely damaged. Flashbacks of flames, smoke, and screams flooded Manny’s mind and he clenched his fists. Another flash of Manny’s badly burned arms and Ellis’ mangled legs. And yet another of a hooded figure with flames covering its hands and its eyes glowing bright red. By this time, tears started to well in Manny’s eyes as he sat still as a gargoyle, peering down at the scene of his brother’s injury.

“I will find you.”

"I believe its time for us to part ways." It was late, and she could feel the dull ache due to her lack of sleep. Reaching out Raven handed Reaper the creation, bowing her head in thanks as she turned. Her boots on the concrete telling her all she need as she began to walk. "If you ever need me, just listen for the steps of four."
Her book in hand she felt it rise before her, hand reaching to feel the worn pages. "Its hooves of thunder shall carry another. Under the guise for eyes that have not yet seen, it shall punish those, who have yet to bleed." A bray of a horse whispering about the room, before her appeared what most would say was a simple motorcycle. Not a single design, with it's body painted in black.
Yet those who for some reason or another, offered blood on the walls of their home would see something else entirely. A horse, far larger than any creature here, it's head missing and in place wispy smoke trails. It's body donned in dull, intricate armour. Listing to the hoof beats Aurora climbed onto the beast. "Take me home."

It was a quiet night, one that was perfect for a ride. The air cooling, crisp even, under the winds created from the speed in which they went. Listing to the sounds of busy streets of down town Aurora began to feel it as a welcome noise. It was so quite in the abandoned banks, far too quiet for her liking, the sounds of passing cars and angry voices, though not her liking, was far more pleasant.
She only began to pay attention again when the sound of crunching gravel entered her ears. The beast snorted, easing it's way to the gate she punched in the code and rode in.

That night she found herself in a stall, farthest from the door, coated in ribbons of brilliant colours and glory. The name "Beauty in Shadow" glistened in the pale light. a single eye looking right at her, knowingly, the animal's coat so dark that it seemed to a void in the stall. "Hey Loki" her voice that of a whisper she gained a nicker in return. The sound of a stall opening echoed through her barn as she entered. Laying down in the sweet smelling straw with her back to the wall.
She told him everything that night, enjoying the pleasant company, a soft nose in her hair, a gentle nuzzle and comforting words in a different language. It was all she needed as she decided to sleep there that night.

----

"Come on Aurora! Reach farther!"

The sound of thundering hooves, the smell of sand clogging her nose as her muscles screamed. It was another day, her blood pumping, Aurora found herself in the arena. The stallion she spent the night with, now beneath her as the woman clung to the leather saddle. Her body arched, allowing it to fall like a doll and reach for the ground. Her object of interest, a cloth of some kind, just out of reach.

Another failure, but she still could not deny the fun she was having. She loved feeling the muscle of the horse beneath her. The breath bursting through the air as she counted each stride he gave. nine, eleven, thirteen, again she reached for the cloth that laid undisturbed in the centre of the arena, and again she missed. Loki being larger than most horses used in the sport she found herself a bit too high up.

She could hear her father shouting at her because of her fourth failure. The man wanted his only child to be a trick rider like himself. And while she was more than happy with being able to learn, even picking up the trade alongside her own. He would not let up on her, it was easily one of the more dangerous sports in the family, one wrong move and she could be killed.

Loki galloping across the arena she tried again, falling from the saddle she barley kept on with her feet. The beast was so well trained that only a few months of learning and he was already done with trying to throw her. Adrenaline rushed through her body as sand kicked up at her face. Her fingers grasping the fabric she pulled herself up with the beast still charging forward, a smile from ear to ear as she held it up. Standing in the saddle for a victory lap. The stride her mount made still being counted in her head.

They were passing the left wing of the Arena when she heard the sound of a machine of some kind burst to life. It was a normal thing, construction was always here to make sure the stable was up and running in the city streets. Yet it was not even a blink when she felt Loki spook, his rider standing on his back with the roar of the engine only feet from him proving too much. It was like a earthquake, throwing her through the air she reached out to try and soften her fall only to land over the arena wall into the gravel on the other side.

Air knocked from her lungs she bounced from the gravel. Rolling slightly, she felt her back hit something, her helmet cracking on whatever it was that stopped her travels
"I'm fine, I'm fine!" She could already hear worried voice and hands grabbing her arms as she forced herself to stand. Grooms trying to grab her horse as he charged through the sands as though he were going to battle. 'Damn it..." Gravel in her hands, white hair now a dull grey and face scratched from the impact, the woman spat on the ground. "Loki stand."
It was like a switch, the animal on the other side of the wall sat on his haunched. Dust kicked up everywhere from the force put into it. A cloud engulfing Aurora as she clicked her tongue waiting and counting each hoof beat that made it's way to her. The sound of iron on wood indicating he put his head over the wall in apology. "Lets try this again shall we?"
Moving over she waved off the workers near her. "Its okay, sorry to bother you guys." She had a limp, yet it was her pride that was hurt the most.

TURN BACK

Turn back left the building, heading out into the streets to think. He spent some time scaring some junkies and looked for something to do. After walking the city for a couple more hours, Turn Back found himself again outside the abandoned building where, if all went well, this new 'team' would be able to do some good. He felt a heavy weight in his pocket from the money Ditch had slipped him, and a strange conflicted feeling. He'd heard of money burning a hole in your pocket of course, but this was ridiculous. He pushed open the door to the building, snorting in amusement as he saw the hole in the wall and stage where Tank had blown through, and scanned the rest of the room. There was Ditch, sitting on the stage with her laptop. Turn Back sighed and walked towards her, sitting on the edge of the stage near her and clearing his throat.

Ditch didn't even look up at him when he cleared his throat. She simply kept on typing, her eyes glued to the screen. "Good morning," She said cheerfully, still not looking up. "Mn.. probably isn't morning. Or is it? Eh. I don't care. Whatcha need?" Ditch was wearing glasses now, which she adjusted like a proper nerd as she typed a couple more things before finally resting her gaze on the vigilante. Then, she yawned.

"Morning, technically. Early, early morning." Turn back leaned forward a bit and lowered his voice. "About the, uh... that money. I don't want to sound ungrateful, because that's actually... A huge help. But I feel like I need to ask; is it stolen? If you don't want to give specifics I get that, but I kind of need to hear it..."

A small smile rose on Ditch's face. "No, it's not stolen. It was given to me by the Shrine family." Turn Back, as well as many others, would probably know the Shrine family as one of the richest in Millennium, though one of the only wealthy families that weren't corrupt. "They wouldn't let me decline.. it was too much. So I use it when necessary. Bought off a few junkies around the area, they won't be coming back. If you need any more, please. I've got quite enough."

Turn Back's eyes widened at the mention of the Shrine's, they had practically built the city and by all accounts had stayed pretty clean over the years. He nodded slowly and gave Ditch a small smile. "Well... Thank you then. It really does help. A lot." He got up to go, resolving never to ask Ditch for money. It was one thing to accept a gift, and another entirely to expect one. A stray though gave him pause before leaving though, and he turned around. "Ditch, why me? Why did you bring me into this? I'm not that special, my power's not that impressive, I bring massive debt to the table and practically nothing else. Why bother?"

Ditch nodded. "I'm glad." As he moved to walk away, she turned back to her computer screen, but looked back up once he spoke again. "First off, your power is valuable. It will grow, and you will be much stronger then you already are. You are special. By being who you are, you're already really fucking special." She said, taking the laptop and moving it off her lap. "And come on. We've all got shit we carry. Massive debt isn't the least of our problems.. and if you let me help you, that wouldn't be a problem at all." She stood up, crossing her arms. "You're a good guy, Jason. A really damn good guy. One who, right now, could have one-way-ticket out of all his problems. And I know you won't take it." She shook her head. "People like you.. they're rare in this city. They really are. Don't underestimate yourself."

Turn Back paused, blinking slowly. This was new territory for him, someone who seemed to believe in him and what he could do. Nobody had ever shown him this before. Well, except for Emma, but sisters don't count. He nodded to Ditch, swallowing a lump in his throat and smiled a bit. "Thank you. That, um... I don't think even you know how much I needed something like that. Anything you need Ditch, anything I can do for you; you have my number." With that, Turn Back turned towards the door and headed back for the streets, standing a little bit taller...

As the others started to leave, she just sort of looked around and tapped her fingers against her thighs for a few moments. For the most part, she still felt she had been mostly ignored or waved off, giving off a soft sigh. They should've known she was completely for this, so felt it was okay to be quiet as she left the room. The only thing she did was pause at the door and glance back at Ditch... then prompetly left to her underground home.

Isabel slowly stepped away from the others, of course not leaving the building, but all the noise about blowing up all of the room and killing everyone made her want to be distant from the crowd.

At one point Ditch started to name each Vigilante and their power, it was a bit awkward to have her name be the silly one from internet creepypasta but it was what she got, and she would never have the patience (or creativity) to come up with one of her own.

"Scarlet Shifter huh? Sounds like my kind of lass, plus I really think Wall Walker will be a bit agiler than what I can deal with."

And that looked like it, the crowd started to disperse and Isabel was more than pleased in leaving the madhouse that was this HQ.

----

The next day was a normal college day, but Isabel had set herself some plans, she had two theories about ScrltS (At first she just abbreviated it to SS but that didn't sound right) either she was tapping into a power like hers or she was using the odd energies her family would call "Magic". The idea that maybe she was a mix of both never crossed her mind.

"Hey, Isa, what are you thinking about," said Rosane, one of her close friends from the college

"Yeah like, you have been away the whole day, even more than normal, are you into a boy perhaps?" mocked Christine, another friend.

"Don't be a fool, Chris, anyway, I'm actually thinking about ways to capture a cat or a bird"

"Oh wow, animal abuse much? What is next? Will you buy a rifle, go hunting deer and then vote for Krump?" jested Chris

"Geez, you two are quick to judge" and the conversation sidelined, she liked her friends but they were not the most useful allies.

-----

"Oh, how are you doing Miss Millenium? Why are you calling?"

"Uh, sis, I think I might be up against a witch, can you help me with some info?"

"Up against huh? Doing hero works now huh? Wasn't that why you left? Because I and mom were too silly with our magical girl clothes and all that?"

"You are silly. And this is a bit of an odd situation, a one-timer"

"Okay, what is her tradition? Classical Druidic? Antigone Thracian line? Yukhagir Siberian shamanistic tradition? Amazonian Pajé? Neo-Hermetic? True Wicca? Japanese Post-Sally Shamaness?"

"Calm down, I have no idea about what you are talking about. It's the one about taking shapes of animals."

"Oh great, let's see, the myth about shapeshifters is present on all continents excluding Antartica, yeah that narrows it down, we know she is not a penguin for example."

"Geez"

"Sorry sis, you don't know enough to let me help, but you will do well, just do your fossil thing, you theoretically should know more about beasts than her right?"

-------

Trough 6 pm to 9 pm Gorgon Eyes chased animals across the city, silly, but she wanted some experience. She was in her full transformed form and had left her backpack and clothing back into the headquarters.

"For now, this is enough"

She jumped across a few more roofs before crawling back into the old warehouse. Once again it looked empty, not that she cared that much about modesty. Transforming back into her human shape she was quick to dress again, this time, she was not even on her typical tracksuit but on her casual "home wear." She opened a can of beer and started to chill on the place, she wasn't in the mood to go back to her apartment with all the noise and lack of space. Plus, you never know who might show up.

Wraith

Seemed as though her power guesses were right on the money. She hoped the guy didn't spend too long climbing up the walls though - last time she'd tried floating in the air for too long, all she'd done was find out that she got motion sickness, which was, to say the least, completely disgusting. Wraith nodded as Ditch finished her explanation, and decided to head out through the wall. Normally she'd just use the door instead, but she didn't really want anyone following her until she knew more about the way they worked. No reason to have anyone ruining her fun on the way home.

"Hey, wait, I've got another one!" Wraith laughed cheerfully. "What's the difference between you and a puppy? Nothing! You're both little-" she was interrupted by a baseball bat swinging past her nose. "Hey! That's not nice! You almost made me start paying attention!" the man appeared to be getting more and more frustrated with every swing, each one getting more frantic and less likely to hit her. Poor guy was almost in tears. "Aww, poor baby. Does someone need a cuddle? Why not ask your friends? Oh, wait." The friends in question were already dead. She could have killed this guy already, but his reactions were just too funny. Shouldn't have broken the law, buddy. Still, this was getting boring, and she needed to be home soon. Her dad wasn't exactly strict, but 5am was probably pushing it a little too far.

She smiled, and reduced the density of her hand, plunging it through his ribcage, where she returned it, and the bladed glove on it, to normal density as she gripped his heart. The man looked too freaked out to even scream as she squeezed his life away. Goodnight, lawbreaker. she thought, as she withdrew her hand, leaving a relatively unmarked body in the alley behind her. Say hi to your buddies for me.

She took off her gloves, hiding them in her pockets, and hurried out to get a cab home. Hopefully her dad wouldn't be too angry at her.

"You. Are. Grounded. End of story, young lady." So much for that idea. There were plenty of responses that she could make to this, but most of them wouldn't really help the situation. 'I just killed five people, and you think you can ground me?' seemed like it would lead to more questions, and the other excuses didn't seem to work with the whole rule-abiding, friendly persona she had going on. Ah well. Whiny, rebellious teenager act it was.

"You can't ground me just for coming in late, Dad! I'm nineteen, not six for crying out loud!" this probably wouldn't help her out of being grounded, but might at least be helpful in terms of not having to explain where she was. "It's like you don't even want me to have a life!" with that, she let out an irritated noise, and ran off to her room, slamming the door shut as hard as she
could without her powers. She let out an angry scream for good measure, and lay back on her bed, feeling kind of impressed with her performance. If this whole vigilante thing didn't work out, maybe she would go to some auditions in future - Kara Banks, former vigilante and Hollywood superstar! Had a nice ring to it.

She stared up at the ceiling. The whole 'being grounded' thing didn't bother her; what was her dad gonna do, lock her in her room? It was more that she didn't want the group she'd met with to find out about it. She imagined that several of them would probably find the whole thing hilarious. A mass-killing, justice-fuelled vigilante grounded for breaking curfew. Ha, ha, ha.

There was a knock on the door, and her dad walked in again. She barely had time to fix her face into the right expression. He looked at her.

"Listen, you know I'm just worried about your safety, right? With all of those super-powered freaks roaming about, you can't be sure that it's safe, Kara." he said, looking apologetic, and apparently not noticing the way she flinched slightly upon hearing the word 'freaks'. "I'm just scared to lose you, okay? It's just a week, so..." she didn't respond. "Just don't do anything I wouldn't do, okay?" she nodded, and watched him leave the room awkwardly before smiling to herself. You have no idea.

Continuing through the night, Omega came to another abandoned building. This time it was a garage near the docks on the east side of the city. This area in general got pretty quiet at night when business shut down, but he always took the utmost care in making sure he was never followed. Underneath this garage, Omega had built his hideout, which was also his home.

He headed down through the hidden entrance, lazily threw off his clothes, and proceeded to wash the night away. Then, he got in bed and laid there still and silent until his mind finally allowed him to drift off to sleep.

----------

Manny woke the next morning feeling slightly more worn than usual. His emotions had probably weighed more on him than he was expecting. Today would definitely be a training day. He needed to work these emotions off.

He got up, threw on a rust colored tank top and a plain pair of dark gray sweats, and tied his hair down under a bandanna. After a light breakfast of eggs, sausage, and toast, Manny headed into his gym. It was a cavernous room with a polished wood floor, an exposed ceiling, and light gray walls. There was a rather small weight set (didn’t need much when you could alter gravity) and platforms and cubes of varying sizes stacked up on one side. He used these platforms to train in zero gravity, allowing them to float around the room in place of enemies or rebound points.

He sat and meditated for a while, syncing with the earth’s gravity, feeling the ebb and flow of its forces. After getting primed and focused, he set to some light weight training to warm up his muscles for his hyper-mobile, zero-gravity workout. Nothing helped Manny blow off steam like flying around the room in complete weightlessness with pretty much no restraints. After training the rest of the morning, Manny showered and got ready for a trip outside of town. He wanted to see his mom and brother, who he didn’t see nearly as much as he saw his dad.

Manny pretty much only uses two-wheeled modes of transportation for normal travel, and opted for his motorcycle. He really didn’t feel like pedaling and it was a long trip on a bicycle anyway. Heading out of the garage in the middle of the day was really no big deal as this was more of an industrial part of town, so everyone was too busy working to care. As Manny rode, his thoughts drifted to the newly formed vigilante team.

There’s such a diversity of powers...it’ll take a lot of adjusting to be aware of teammates while we fight. Some of us have powers with a wide area of effect. I can imagine that the first time any of them are fighting in an altered gravity field, it’ll throw them off their game...but it’s not like I could never use that ability when fighting in a team. That’s just something we’ll have to work out...ha...we...now there’s a ‘we’...

A while later, he arrived at the children’s hospital where his mother worked. His brother was usually there as well. He didn’t call ahead, so this would be a surprise. When he walked in, the receptionist immediately greeted him. “Oh, hi, Manny. Didn’t know you were coming by. Surprise visit?” Manny nodded and grinned. “Your mom’s in the east wing, if I’m not mistaken.”

“Thanks.” Manny headed down to the part of the hospital where the chronically and terminally ill children pretty much lived. His mother, Sonya, had the ability to heal people (and plants, actually) with her singing voice. She couldn’t heal anything that was too severe, like a severed limb or extensive nerve damage, and with a serious life-threatening disease, she could really only relieve the pain until the inevitable end. Nevertheless, she loved singing to the children and using her gift to make them feel better. Manny could hear his mother’s voice before he had even gotten halfway down the hall. He made his way to a room where the children often gathered to hear Sonya sing. He waited until he heard the end of the song and poked his head in. “Knock, knock.”

“Manny! What a nice surprise!” Sonya said.

“Heeey, bro!” Ellis said turning his chair to face the door.

All the children were excited to see him, too. They jumped up to give him hugs and he was just as excited to see them. He made his way to Sonya and gave her a peck on the cheek, and Ellis rolled over to give Manny a fist bump. “Haven’t been by in a while and I thought I’d come visit.”

“Play with Miss Sonya, Manny! Please, please, please!” One of the little girls was hopping up and down and pointing to a guitar leaning in the corner.

“Alright, alright.” Manny grinned and walked over to grab the guitar while the kids sat down. He sat on the bench next to his mother and Ellis picked up a tambourine. As they played and sang for the children, Manny really started to feel the weight lifting from him once again. This was something he needed badly, for he truly understood the healing power of music, both literally and figuratively. And it was people like Ellis and these kids that kept Manny fighting for what was right.

Graffiti felt a little deflated after being told she would have to wait a few days before getting a solid lead on her target. She had thrown on the clothes of the Graffiti persona and was now craving adrenaline, vigilante style. But all the other heroes were leaving the building, probably all returning to their normal lives as their secret or not so secret identities. But the night was still young and Graffiti had no desire to get an early nap not just yet. Maybe her prickly exchange with Levi the short circuit had got her feeling anxious/insecure about her powers, and on some level she wanted to prove herself worthy.

She noticed that ecto was still hanging around, she took a liking to him for some reason, his etheral appearance made him seem like an imaginary friend she might have had as a child and he seemed to have been respectful so far. She was interested in how his powers might be used in a live situation, so she popped the question.

Hey, Ecto. I'm not sure about the rest of these guys but I cant sleep until ive done a bit of vigilante work, I didnt get geared up just for a quick seminar, you know what I mean? Maybe you can join me for some crime fighting? I know where some petty criminals are hanging out, and well I suppose I want to get used to working with other people. You in?

Graffiti smiled under her bandanna and took a relaxed pose, she was excited to see what this guy could do on the field.

Girard listened to the last bit and bobs of information on the targets and mission before Ditch decided to dismiss them what with the time. He decided on having a quick look around the rest of the theater before he left so he could think of uses for some of the rooms once the place got fixed up since Rose talked about getting a whole crew in the place. Once it was fixed up however he was going to be all over setting up some rooms they might find useful, like a workshop where he could make more of his explosive toys among other things with less risk of trouble if he messed up. There could also be a fitness area that could be made to handle powers decently without falling apart if they were reasonable about it. This was going to be a hell of a project and he was looking forward to making it work for them to make up for taking out a wall. Of course before the big man left the neighborhood he did have a discreet look around having donned his helmet again so he could see about finding any trouble if there was something to worry about. There ended up being nothing to find that worried him but he would likely check it on his outings once in a while but for now he had to get home to tidy up and sleep.

The big man woke up to his rather loud alarm at seven, he slept like a rock so it had become a necessity to his mornings, shifting to find the button quickly before getting himself up from his deceptively reinforced bed. It had been one of his other important projects for comfort because he had tried more than a couple solutions before getting it right for a man of his size and weight. He had a basement apartment that was spacious enough for him, a bit plain but he didn't need anything special, as well as some access to the maintenance room attached the landlord to let him do a bit of hobby building as far as they knew. It wasn't entirely untrue but he made sure to keep his more volatile ideas well hidden while some of the other models/carvings were proudly displayed like the planes or buildings which he had started selling here or there if anyone thought they were worth something. All in all he kept himself busy in his privacy which is how he preferred it because as patient as he was there was always something he ended up doing to fill the gaps.

Girard went through his morning ritual quickly having plans to meet up with his family at his father's diner, Morning Glory, for breakfast and just to enjoy the company. He threw on a plain grey shirt and his jeans/workpants before heading out on foot from his apartment making sure to bring his phone with him knowing his luck with work popping up at the most unexpected times. He lived at a pretty central part of the city so getting around from his place was rather easy not to mention he rarely got tired from his walks some of which were longer than needed. Tank always enjoyed getting a bit of air or taking in the sights of the city and surrounding area though he had yet to find a car or truck that could comfortably handle his weight so it left him to enjoying his walks while they lasted. Not to mention it kept him in excellent shape alongside his other activities which was good all around for the big man because he hated the idea of looking like crap if he could do something about it not that it seemed to carry much weight but he didn't let it get him down. It was a less than eventful walk to his enjoyment preferring not to get Tank mixed with Girard during the day if possible because if it got to a point convincing people he wasn't his 'masked self' would get incredibly difficult very quickly, a struggle he faced on a couple occasions.

The big guy made it to the diner's door after about a half hour walk entering to find his mother and siblings sitting at the counter waiting for him and greeted to the smell of his father cooking in the back. He ended up getting a hug from his mother and sister and gave his brother clasp on his good shoulder and took his seat with them on his stool that he tweaked a little while he got a thumbs up from his father who was determined to finish quickly so he could join them. His power had defined his lifestyle in more than a few ways but it never cut into family time if he could help it with a little persistence as well as ingenuity ad more than a little support from everyone who mattered.

"So how are things you four?" Girard asked a big smile practically etched into his face.

"I'm keeping up my book club well, May is having her big concert recital next weekend and Jerry is getting some attention to his drawings at school." His mom explained subtly making a point of his sister's event after he missed the last one while taking out a criminal's operations at a fishery, not that they knew but he still felt bad.

"Its been alright." His father said casually but a little more neutral than usual.

"Great to hear that. I thought little sis seemed up about something when she called last. You enjoying the drawing Jer?" He said back locking eyes with his father for all of a half second who lightly moved his head towards the back door.

"I'm getting all nervous about it already, the entire school will be watching and I don't want to mess up." May said a little panicky over her impending performance, she never did like crowds but he seemed a little more anxious than usual.

"Lets me be creative. Other guys thinks its a little boring though." Jeremiah said calmly not really seeming phased by the question or his answer.

"May don't worry so much, you know your the best in your grade it'll pan out well once your up there. You seem a little off Jer...something up with those guys?" The big guy said reassuring his sister but mildly concerned with his brother since his arm seemed to attract unwanted attention.

"Nope." The younger brother replied rather abruptly.

"Everyone hungry?" His father called out sounding more enthusiastic than before bringing out the plates in succession.

The family took the time to eat and chat a bit more before Girard and his father managed to get to the back to have a quiet discussion.

"Don't think I need to tell you but the gangs have been moving around the area again but these ones seem more confident than any I've heard of. Seems like Jeremiah and May might have been harassed by them, nothing physical yet but I doubt you need more reason." His father said laying his information on the line knowing full well his son wanted to hear it sooner rather than later.

"Looks like I got some work on my hands. Dad I appreciate you trusting me enough for helping keep all of you safe, I'll have them run out soon as possible." Girard said more than determined to give the offenders the biggest asskicking of their lives for having the gall to come near his family.

"Me and your mother know we can't exactly stop you son, but keep alive for our sakes and your siblings because even if you are Tank your still Girard under that helmet." His father returned giving a firm grip on the shoulder and a weak smile before they both put back on normal expressions and rejoined then rest of the family for a few minutes before his phone started ringing.

He excused himself heading outside the front keeping an eye around him as he pulled out his phone.

"Tim? Yeah sure I can do some work today guessing Frankie dropped like usual, where is this going down? 4315 Racket Ave...yeah sure no problem I'll be there as soon as I can. Need me to pick up anything on the way? Tyler needs some screws huh? Alright be there in a jiffy." The big guy said feeling incredibly awkward about the call but covering it up well in a businesslike tone.

This day just gets better and better doesn't it. He thought sarcastically but not ready to disappoint.

He walked back in and gave a quick goodbye/explanation to his family before heading out towards the HQ knowing a store he could hit up on the way.

It was a longer walk to the old theater than it had been to the diner and his work buddies knew he walked everywhere so it wasn't a surprise when he finally got there with the requested screws in hand still managing to be on time though it turned out Tyler got called off the job so he would just leave the screws with the spares if the did end up needing them anyways. Tank got assigned the hole he made and one of the larger rooms at the back though it was likely he was going to be everywhere, working like a man possessed. It felt extremely weird to him fixing what he knew was the HQ so it made him get even more hyper focused about getting the place in shape. The big guy had something of a reputation for his work ethic and efficiency which is how him and Tim got in contact starting to talk business. He was a freelance guy but he had helped the man more than a few times in a bind because he liked the crew and not to mention they got paid well for the effort they put in.

Glad its during the day, I doubt most of the others will show up here if any. But hopefully all the guys will keep them at a distance hopefully... Girard thought maybe a little uncomfortable with more of the group than necessary knowing what he did for his day job, the irony would end up getting him laughed at likely.

It was obvious their little ‘meeting’, as rough as it was, was finally winding down. Information on their targets given out, last minute questions ask, and overall less violent than Reaper honestly would’ve guessed at this large a gathering of super powered individuals. Which was saying something considering the lightning show, graffiti, and destruction of a stage.

Raven Tale’s movement at her side drew Reaper’s gaze and she glanced over, opening her palm for the little mark she had made for the blind vigilante. She merely made a small noise of acknowledgement to her, the shadows immediately dissolving in her hand and dripping to her shadow like a black liquid. Easy enough to disperse, and a bit of a relief – every solidified object relied on her own power to stay active, and something with that much shape and finesse wasn’t her specialty. Raven Tale’s departure as well as a few others signalled Reaper wouldn’t be getting much more out of this however, and it was nearly two in the morning. She had been here for hours – longer than anyone except Ditch. The darkness elemental gave one last look at her upcoming teammates, and a subtle glance behind her to the door, before finally focusing on Ditch one last time. The tall woman gave the slightest bow of her head in acknowledgement to their apparent ‘leader’, and then just like that it was as though the floor caved in beneath her as Reaper fell into her own shadow without a trace.

A shadow step to the outside, then the roof, and another after that had Reaper on her way home swiftly. At this time of night it was like teleporting as she casually walked from shadow to shadow, reappearing bursts of distance away every second. Admittedly she had hesitated on that second roof, seeing the darkness blanketing the city that even the bright lights from the sky scrapers couldn’t diminish. How easy would it be to find someone and sate a little bloodlust – though the only beacons she could pick out were, worryingly, from a few of those leaving the warehouse at her back. Still, she already had no doubt quite a few criminals near Racket Avenue were going to suffer tonight. It’s not every night that a horde of vigilantes dispersed from one area. More than that, it was tempting to find her target already. Reaper wasn’t one to sit back and do nothing, even if she had almost taken the coward’s course on leaving the city. It was that sense that made her stay and follow the text to the auditorium.

Ugh. That Ditch. Just letting her sit outside.

Reaper huffed, and once more resumed shadow stepping. Scarlet Shifter could wait – if Ditch could dig up all their information at once she probably had reasons to hold them off from going after them immediately. Aside from it being two in the morning.

”Who even makes a meeting at midnight? Dramatic effect? … Nerd.”

It didn’t take long for the decaying buildings around Racket Avenue to fade to the lights of downtown, small flickers glancing off Reaper as she continued to walk from shadow to shadow as though on a casual stroll. Soon even that faded to well kept lawns and blackened windows as residential homes were mostly turned down for the night, and then the shadows of great trees were her transportation as she came to longer and longer yards.

There was, after all, a reason she chose Millenium City to study at. Multiples, actually. They had a surprisingly good school, it was across the country… and her family owned a nice amount of property here. The grandest of which she was now in front of. This neighborhood would definitely not be considered low class, not even middle. Reaper cheated by bypassing the curving path to the front door, passed the well-kept lawn and fountain. She didn’t even bother using the door as a quick glance to a window on the third floor, kept open specifically for this, had Reaper dropping out of her ceiling inside.

Zoey let out a low groan as she shoved her hood back and grabbed a fistful of balaclava to yank the offending garment off and release a torrent of red-orange hair down her back, sinking into a plush chair of her sitting room and putting her feet up on the accompanying ottoman.A fire flickered nearby, the flames low but filling the room with warmth that otherwise would’ve seeped out the open window. Speaking of which, Zoey raised a hand lazily, her shadow bubbling as a tentacle of pure shadow began to form. Before she could use it however, a low click of the window shutting sounded out behind her.

“Welcome home, Miss Kasimir.” … Zoey really should’ve expected this.

“Ah, er, hello Jasper. Have you been waiting?”

“Of course, Miss Kasimir. I trust everything went well?” A figure moved into Zoey’s line of sight finally, arms folded behind their back and somehow making their straight backed stance seem relaxed. The vigilante sunk into her chair further as the blonde’s eyes roamed over her, silently probing for any injuries. It wouldn’t be the first time Zoey came back from her ‘night job’ with unseen injuries thanks to her powers. The gaze lingered on some debris dust on Zoey’s pant legs, making her shift.

“… Yeah, it went well enough for how many people there were. I didn’t get into any trouble.” Zoey raised a gloved hand to rub at the bridge of her nose, soon turning to taking them off to toss to the side. “Turns out the mysterious Ditch dug up info on a lot of people. Needless to say, you’re looking at a teammate now.” Jasper merely raised a blonde eyebrow subtly beneath her pixie cut, the young woman looking as stone faced as always.

“Blackmail has never been a good conduct for business, nor for creating partnerships, Miss Kasimir.”Jasper commented in a droll fashion. Despite only being a few years older than Zoey herself the female butler fit the part perfectly for the youngest Kasimir, more than just a boot licker and patient enough to deal with her. More than that Zoey knew Jasper for years, and knew how capable she was. Power rippled in the short woman’s frame, muscles defined and steady beneath the dark servant’s suit.

“Maybe not.” The redhead let out a long suffering sigh. “But Ditch was right, Umbra does need to be stopped.” Abruptly Zoey sat up to focus on Jasper. “Did you know Umbra’s a darkness elemental as well?”

“No, Miss Kasimir.”

“Well he is! Except his powers are more like the darkness you’d hear out of story books – a nightmare.”

“I’m sure many a criminal has nightmares of your own brand of darkness, Miss Kasimir.”

“Flatterer.” Zoey sighed but tilted her head to look to Jasper, staring at her butler before almost reluctantly adding on. “I missed our usual run down in the evening. Want to catch me up?”

“Always, Miss Kasimir.” Zoey’s eyes returned to the fire, but she kept an ear out for Jasper who began to recite the usual things Zoey needed to know as the new head of the Kasimir family. Any important changes in stocks, a property had been sold at a profit, another lot was set and ready for construction to begin, her father had sent another letter, and of course any noteworthy criminal activity. All the usual for a wealthy vigilante.

“… And there’s a protest planned for tomorrow morning outside your property at Vale Street.”

“Oh? What are they protesting?” She commented with only mild interest. Mornings were not usually a time for crime, and to be honest she did have work to catch up on.

“The plans for the building.”

“What?!” Zoey sat up straight from her half drowsy state, feet landing on the floor as though to take off for the building already. “Why?!”

“They disagree with tearing down the building to replace it with high rise apartments.”

“Vale street… Vale street… Wasn’t that place apartments in the first place?”

“Yes, Miss Kasimir, but they were originally marketed towards young families and the older generation as an affordable alternative. According to the file it was condemned two years ago, and one of your agents bought it six months ago after a proposal to tear it down passed.” Zoey’s brow furrowed, staring at Jasper in puzzlement.

“Then what’s the problem? If those families still need apartments they can just rent from us.”

“Many wouldn’t be able to afford the increased rates, Miss Kasimir. The protest is specifically about the homeless problem plaguing Millenium City.” Zoey’s chest heaved and she proceeded to glare moodily at the fire, bringing an arm up to rest beside her. With a huff she pressed her knuckles to the side of her face as she leaned against it. Jasper knew to let her brood.

“How expensive can our apartments be? It’s just rent. Maybe we can offer some sort of … promotion in the beginning?” Jasper let Zoey talk to herself under her breath, waiting to be addressed. Money wasn’t exactly Zoey’s forte, at least down to the exacts. She had been raised wealthy and would continue to be wealthy for many, many years, pending any absolute disasters. In all honesty, Zoey couldn’t quite wrap her head around not being able to afford ‘rent’.

“… Am I a bad person, Jasper?” Now that was a loaded question. Jasper once more raised an eyebrow, studying her younger charge as the vigilante gazed into the fire. From her dust covered pants – she didn’t even like jeans – to the ‘unfashionable’ hoody, even how her shadows smoked and rose.

“… You do what you think is right, Miss Kasimir. Perhaps there is more that could be done, but at heart you are a good person.” A snort.

“Sometimes I don’t feel like it. I wish we dealt in something else - I’ve always wanted to start a lingerie line.” Sarcasm dripped from her voice, but finally Zoey gave one last huff and got on to her feet. A swipe of her hand had solidified shadows jumping to cover the burning logs in the fireplace, suffocating the flames within an instant and leaving nothing but grey smoke and embers left behind the gate. “I’ll go to Vale Street tomorrow to keep an eye on things. That’s what a good owner does, isn’t it? Maybe I can even figure out what to do…”

“If that’s your wish, Miss Kasimir. I’ll let Wemba know to have the car ready in the morning.”

“Thanks, Jasper. I’ll see you then.” Another sigh and Zoey padded towards her room. “… And remind me to look into that lingerie idea.”

“Of course, Miss Kasimir.”

"I told you, you were hurt"
"No I'm not, I feel fine."
"The doctor just said you almost shattered your wrist doing that."
"But I didn't."
"Your right, its just a fracture."

A sweet smile on the albino's features, Aurora leaned over the counter at the hospital, they said she was a bit too old for this place, but her family insisted that she got herself checked out as fast as she could. It must have been bad though. One of the doctors knowing her history for injuries did not complain, saying internal bleeding or head injuries could kill her if she waits as long as she usually dose.

She did not really care though. With one of the stable grooms at her side acting as a guide. She found herself thinking back to the rush of trick riding, it was like jumping out of an air plane with no parachute. She might have to keep that style, to do acrobatics while Loki is going at a full charge? It was enough to take the air out of her lungs.
Her wrist did not hurt while she was riding. Not even a bit, and so she continued for a few minutes..hour hours, yes maybe hours. Only realizing the damage when she tried to untack her stallion and dropped just his bridal.

Now she was stuck in the chemical smelling halls, with sounds of machines. Only welcome break of the routine was children, it was sweet hearing their comments when seeing an oddity. Asking why she has a stick or white hair, who knows, she might ask if they would want her to come back and perform for the little ones. Even so, the words saying she could leave were more than welcome.
"Aright, thank you, come on Sam." Tapping her cane on the clean tiled floor she was already out the door, her left hand in a black and blue cast, moving a bit awkwardly. "Aright Aurora, come on I'll take you back to the barn." Feeling a hand on her back the smaller woman was quick to move away from the groom. She felt herself biting the inside of her cheek in annoyance at the gesture, stopping her movements as she turned her head to feel up.
"Nah, its the perfect day, no real sun, but still warm. Loki is taken care of, so tell my father that I'm going to take a walk." She could hear the uneasiness in the worker. The blind daughter of her boss leaving her? "No please Aurora, lets go back an-" silenced with a tap of her cane, Aurora turned to the voice. An old habit of rebelling to unasked help rising up.
"I'm a grown woman, I can take care of myself. So I'm going for a walk, and your going to tell my father whatever you want."

Walking away in a fit of anger. She counted the steps it took until the groom left. A sigh escaping her lips but a wave of relief that this time she actually left. She heard there was a music store around here. The place spiking her interest at the idea that she could gather more for her collection.
Asking around she began following a path that was shown to her. The sound of cars passing by, and a dog barking making her feel like she was going the right way. Least somewhat. The smell of a pizza place and the ringing bell of a clothing store indicated she was getting close to an area where many shopped.
Yet it did not take long for her to feel the uneasiness of being stalked. Heavy foot steps trying to hid. The sound muffled on ether side she found herself in a ally of some kind. She waisted no time, a hand grasping over her face, her mask took it's place on her features. Her cane falling from her fingers she rummaged through her bag to produce a plain leather journal, only to open it once more for the cover to take on its true appearance.
Click
"Aright sweet heart, hate to go for the handicapped, but we all need to make a living." It was a male, older than her, slightly intoxicated. She did not turn, her book resting in her damaged arm as her fingers trailed the pages. "Keep being polite and we won't have any problems, just put everything down and I won't blow your fucking brains out."
All Raven had done was take a deep breath. Her body still to his demands, he held the gun with no shake. His voice ebbed that same pattern most do when they are known to foul acts. "I'm sorry, but I can not allow you to roam these streets." Her words spoken she dodged the gun when he tried to hit her in the back of her skull. Turning on her heel as she began to speak. "He seeks were we are lost, eyes the color of moss, with heart beating true he only wishes to find you."

The sound of snapping jaws and ravenous scratching like growls harmonized with screams and gun shots like a middle school band. The Grim's claws scrapping at the ground, his jaws wrapping around the man's arm, disarming him as he screamed for his life. True terror in his voice at the strange beast. "Easy my friend, we do not kill ones like this."
Instead she took the gun that slid across the ground, pointing the barrel at the stone floor she felt for the safety to turn it back on. Walking to the screams with a calmness, ignoring the questions of what was she to do. All she did was rise it above her head, crashing it on the side of his face to knock him out.
Reaching out to feel the coarse fur and scaled hide of the Grim, Aurora felt a sigh escape her lips. "Thank you my friend, can you do one last thing before you leave? This man needs medical help, think you can lead someone here?" Listening to the running paws she nodded her head, removing her mask, grabbing her cane and leaving the scene. Looking like a normal woman enjoying a walk. Even jumping when she heard the screams of others at the sight of her Grim. Though it was just an act. It wouldn't take too long now, not many can resit the temptation of following a beast that looks so strange.

"Well that takes care of that..." Closing the book she put it back in her bag. Feeling the wall to her right with her cane only to find out that she was lost, the smell of pizza was gone, no music playing in tiny stores or groups of people on the side walks.

"Oh dear" once she was lost, it was beyond a pain to find her way back. A hand running through her hair she pulled it a bit in frustration. "Excuse me can yo-" trying to ask someone for help she was met with silence. More were just too interested at the chaos that had just happened. "Oh no."
Again and again she tried to ask for help, yet it seemed like she was a ghost. Most passing her by without a word indicating she spoke to anyone at all. "All I wanted to do was head to a music store." She rested her back on a wall in defeat, cane before her as she held her face for a moment to think. Come now, she found ways to get back home when lost before. This can't be any different. The phone in her pocket promises help but that was a last resort. Using it would mean that she really did loose.

After saying his goodbyes, Manny left the hospital feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. It was quite a welcome feeling after the rush of grief he had last night. He needed to be focused and in top form if he was going to be any help to the team. The growing threat of Umbra was serious business and he wasn’t about to let everyone down on the first mission.

As he started through the parking lot toward his bike, he heard what sounded like gunshots in the distance. It sounded pretty far, but he was sure that’s what it was. If he could hear gunshots in a noisy city like Millenium, he could definitely distinguish them in a quiet town like this. Figuring that he had no time to start his bike and fight traffic, Manny started sprinting into town. The closer he got to the scene, the more panicked and curious people were. Following the crowds, he came to a stop when he saw that they were gathered around an alley. A couple of cops were keeping the people back as another was questioning a man in cuffs. He seemed to be out of it; like they woke him up from being unconcious. He was holding his arm like he was hurt. But he was the only one there. And yet other people seemed to be panicked for a whole other reason. Manny didn’t quite understand what was happening.

Why’s that guy hurt? Was he the victim? He looks like he was the perp...and why is he the only one? Someone else had to be there...I’m confused…

As the crowd got thicker, Manny decided to leave it to the cops. He wasn’t Omega right now. He backed out of the crowd and turned to see a girl leaning against a wall, looking flustered.

Was she the victim? No...she doesn’t look hurt. Maybe not...but she still looks like something’s wrong...

It didn’t look like anyone was paying her any attention, so Manny went to offer his help.

“Excuse me? Are you alright? You, uh, look like something’s bothering you.”

"What was that? Oh dog?"
"Had to be, maybe a police dog."
"That thing was huge, might be a wolf."

Trying to look worried was not that hard. She was, yet for different reasons. Tapping her cane Aurora tried to ask again, yet the sounds of sirens and cars indicated that the cops were here. There goes her chance for finding help, never go to the cops. They ask questions and than they track the trail down to you.
Minutes passing she tried to figure out where she was again. Lets see, a metallic scant, the people around her carried things. Bags, maybe they were leaving work? Than there was the mugger, had to be near a bar or something. So if she was near a bar, than she was away from residential areas right? So maybe she was not too lost, she could try to find her way on her own.
“Excuse me? Are you alright? You, uh, look like something’s bothering you.”

Jumping at the voice, Aurora began to still. Focusing on the voice next to her. Male, only a little older than her, seemed bigger than her to, not scrawny but not a Tank. Realizing that she was silent for a few moments though she began to fumble for her words, the calm style and strange way of speaker as Raven tale absent in the situation.
"Oh, umm, well not exactly..." Running a hand through her hair she tapped her cane again only for a sigh to pass her lips, come on Aurora, you need to do this. If not you'll end up being forced to call your family instead.

"Okay maybe that was a lie. I'm a little lost, I was on my way to the music story but the chaos that happened here pushed me off my usual route, maybe a full street over but I can't tell. Can you tell me where I am?" Her voice hinting at embarrassment she looked down. She lost, she can't find a store on her own can she." Head pointed down she tapped her cane, rising slightly to gain her thoughts. No use in sulking, don't be like dagger eyes. "If you point me in the right direction I would appreciate it."

Eric was just about to head out as the other vigilantes started to disperse. He had a slice of pizza in mind, with watching the late night news and probably falling asleep on the couch. Though there would be some work he needed to take care of the next day.
I guess I should buy a training dummy to brush up my hand-to hand skills, and to work on my endurance. Also, I'm kinda low on cash, and the rent is due... Maybe I could ask around if someone needs my services. perhaps Miss Lorell or the Glasnost Company DID DITCH JUST HAND OVER A SHIT TON OF MONEY TO TURN BACK?
Don't look at them Eric, that would be awkward, look at the monitor and try to seem deep in thought. But I AM. AARGH! Concentrate!

"...join me for some crime fighting? I know where some petty criminals are hanging out, and well I suppose I want to get used to working with other people. You in?"

Wait, was Graffity talking to me the whole time? I totally zoned out...

"Huh?" Then trying not to seem like an idiot, he said: "Yeah, sure, I'm ready. What do you have in mind?"

He was wondering if this was like a date for vigilantes, or just some team-building, but he had to admit, Graffiti amused him. At first he was vary because her powers are air-related, and that is one of Ecto's weak points, but she was kinda both cool and sincere. Plus, the way she stood against the possibility of being zapped in the face was badass. Teaming up is a good idea, they could learn a lot from this. Maybe this is the start of a dynamic duo? Eric was getting excited.

Graffiti was pleased to hear she wouldn't be beating up on criminals alone tonight and Ecto was easily her favorite out of Vigilantes she didn't already know. But fond of him or not, she knew that she had to see if he was a worthy teammate, if she was going to be working together to take down Wall Walker she would need someone reliable at her side. She already read about how powerful Omega was and him alone made her feel a lot safer, but she wasn't sure if she trusted him, he seemed polite but very mysterious. Graffiti was somewhate indifferent to RavenTale and the rest of the Wall Walker Assigned team, she would make up her mind as she went along, but now was time to focus on Ecto and what he can do against street level criminals.

Cool! I knew you'd say yes, there's an alley way where 3 semi-infamous carjackers are disassembling a stolen police vehicle. They ccall themselves 'The Torque Trio' stupid name but they know how to stay off the radar. But I spotted them on the way over here, just on a small entrance off of Crank street near the old bowling alley. About 10 mins from here....

Graffiti looked outside the auditorium window and back at Ecto.

I fly everywhere for transport, but It doenst appear you have a car outside, for some reason I pictured you having some sort of 'ghost-mobile' that turns invisible on a full moon...I guess you can just make your own way to Crank Street with your own means.
I'll be on the roof of the old bowling alley overlooking the Trio..see you there!

Graffiti literally began to run like the wind at a slightly superhuman speed aided by her own wind tunnel slip stream and dramatically took off like a rocket with her propellant spray out of the same sky window she entered from.

Crank Steet Bowling Alley (15 mins Later)

Graffiti had only been on the roof for a couple mins when Ecto had finally joined her arriving sooner than she thought. She gave him a greeting fist bump and looked over the edge of the short building to point at the 3 car-jackers Johnny, Jackie and Mitch. They were laughing as they removed the engine from the butchered police cruiser and placed it another custom tuner car. The air from the alleyway was strong with the smell of weed and liquor. Graffiti pulled her hood tight and started to rummage through her backpack deciding what cans to have on hand. She turned to Ecto with curiosity.

So my fighting skills aren't great but my powers allow me to throw punches faster and harder with airbusrts behind them so it doesnt really matter against punks like these. So my usual plan is to jump down there, say some cool shit then beat the crap out of them. But you might have a different way of doing things. How's your hand to hand skills? or do you prefer the stealthy approach?

Graffiti was genuinely fascinated, she had been doing things her own way for so long it was interesting to hear about alternative approaches.

2 PM…

Everyone was working around the clock. Tim had warned everyone it was going to be a long couple of weeks - they’d start at roughly 7 am and finish by 7 pm, but they’d be doing most of the noisy stuff in their workshop. Some of the guys questioned why, but some of them had been on similar projects - some of them even remember working on Rose’s home, though they generally didn’t make the connection. Suddenly, in the middle of the afternoon, a young woman was seen hanging around the middle of the site, looking around - pink hair, pink shirt, a purple skirt, cute boots, and a dark navy shoulder purse. It caused most of them to mumble and whisper while working, after all, she was one of the notable rich kids of the city - Melrose Faye.

Towards the back of the room Girard was working with another man to install some of the dry wall having noticed the guy was having trouble but also trying to keep focused so none of the rest of them could read him for anything strange. He would’ve verbally agreed with Tim earlier but it became more apparent just how much would need to be done just to get the place to code let alone cleaned up enough to be comfortable. He heard some grumbling from some of the other workers, nothing too uncommon on site with there being more than enough to complain about lately in the city, though it sounded more directed this time. A quick turn of the head was all it took for him to notice Melrose moving around the site which had him feeling a bit uncomfortable. Sure he didn’t mind the other vigilante seeing his face but knowing his job was a little much so soon. The big man decided to keep his head down, best as he could given the situation, for now to see if he could slip under the radar but he would keep an eye on the woman to see what she did.

For several minutes, Melrose just kept wandering around, as if looking for something or someone in particular. Her eyes were mostly towards the ceiling, pursing her lips in thought. Tim even walked up to her at one point, asking if everything was all right, to which she nodded and gave him an unusually shy smile - though it wasn’t directed at him, exactly. By chance though, she happens to spot Tank - or perhaps it’s more accurate to say that someone so big is not very good at sneaking about. At first, her entire expression blanked before simply smiling in soft recognition. Bonding over on light feet, she gives him a wave. “Hey! Girard!” She apparently not only knew his name, but didn’t seem phased at all about his line of work.

Girard kept at least an eye in the back of his head while watching the other vigilante who looked like she was thinking about something though as to what he could only guess. Not to mention looking between all of the other men at the sight ignoring them politely like she had a target in mind. When the big guy recognized the target of Melrose’s attention he had a small moment of panic, or as close to it as the man could get, hoping that she might not make a particularly big deal of it at least. Of course he may have had a bad guess as to what she would do because not only did the woman head directly at him, he got called out by name without a look of surprise and much care that he was working under her guy.

Really didn’t need that to add to the awkwardness. He thought less than amused about the situation.
“Uh hi. You need something Miss Faye?” Girard said turning to meet her but covering for himself all the same.

She had forgotten for a split second that maybe calling him by name might not be the best in his situation, but she also realized the most he’d get is teased for knowing one of the rich women. So she just perked up and replied. “So, have you seen… um…” Suddenly, Rose had realized what she was really asking and how silly it might come across, making her duck a little in shyness as she continue. “Um.. the.. IT girl, that.. yeah, she was.. around a little while ago?” Melrose admitted, she wasn’t quite sure why she was looking for Ditch at all. Previously, she had been bored, having put together the prototype electrical surge units as best as she could for now and thought she would see if Ditch was around. Of course going to the future HQ, full of construction workers - what was she thinking?

Oh he was going to get it from the guys for this, not horribly, but they sure as hell we're going to pick at him for a day or two over it. A guy like him knowing a rich girl like her would always have raised some eyebrows though given her expression it might have just occurred. It seemed like the little thing was off starting to ask him something but pausing weirdly before asking about some IT chick who apparently was working around the theater. For a moment it hadn’t sunken in but once the gears were turning the only thing buzzing was a question or two for why she was here to see Ditch, if she was even still here having maybe caught a passing glimpse of the other woman earlier. Not to mention of all the people she could have ended up asking about it and he got picked out. Something was up but he couldn’t quite put his finger on it because even he figured finding Ditch near the main working body wouldn’t happen unless it was important.

“Not sure but she might’ve gone towards the room where all the electronics are going.” Girard said taking a moment to point here over towards a side section where he guessed the computers or generators she had mentioned the night before were going.

“Really!?” She exclaims a bit more loudly than she should have, turning her head towards the computer room. Rose looks back to Girard, blushing as she realized again what she was doing. “I-I mean, uh… heh… are you sure?” she asks again, shuffling slightly in place, the blush still lingering light across her cheeks. “I mean… I don’t even know why I’m asking, she, uh, probably went home - right?....” Melrose was looking noticeably embarrassed at this moment, almost like she wanted to hide away, gaining a few odd looks.

The big guy flinched slightly at the sudden burst of excitement from Melrose who had him surprised by reaction alone. Then the blush hit and a singular solution clicked loudly in his mind, the little woman had a crush on Ditch, and it was apparently a pretty major one with all the body language to match it. The stuttered response followed by the look of embarrassment drew a little pity from him knowing the feeling himself years ago but he didn’t let it show more for her sake than his. Honestly he felt a little bad he couldn’t give her an absolute answer about if Ditch was here or not, but it was probably best to get her moving along so she could compose herself.

“Don’t know for certain but you could look and if she’s not you could probably get ahold of her. Seems like a pretty quick responder.” Girard said picking his words carefully though he couldn’t help his gaze softening slightly in concern for her. “Oh and if you need anything else don’t worry about asking, I can make time.”

He hoped the girl would be alright and maybe even be able to center herself enough before anything went wrong. The big man had been guilty of emotions getting ahead of him, it wasn’t something he wanted to see turn bad.

“Uhh…” Finally Melrose gave a shy smile and recomposed herself. “Right.. I’m just being silly! Um - keep up the good work… and stuff.. yeah. And leave the stage be - don’t break it.” She then decided to smirk playfully at the man and spun around, slowly making her way out of the future clubhouse. It was a somewhat awkward situation, but she had never thought to meet any of her future teammates here in the middle of the day, despite knowing their day jobs. She kind of hoped that she wouldn’t get teased later for this.

Girard breathed an internal sigh of relief for now but he had a feeling he might have to keep an eye on Melrose, possibly even Ditch, just in case the crush started to bleed over into work time. It could be life threatening if anyone on the team slipped should it come down to the fight with Umbra and losing vigilantes was the last thing this town needed especially if he could prevent it. Then again it wasn’t so bad for the time between major jobs and he had work to get back to fixing up the HQ for rose and the rest of the team.

“Will do mam.” The big guy said with a polite and mildly amused smile.

Girard went back to work shortly after because this sorry excuse for a home base wasn’t going to get done with him doing nothing.

Two days after the meeting.

Interacting with: --

Levi actually found himself some time, between the crime and other engagements that had come up recently. He was in a secluded forest, it's usual and vibrant green, and calming brown replaced by a dull sizzle of red and charcoal darkness. Levi had been practicing his craft in this forest and had taken a slight toll on it. He was panting, wiping sweat off his brow as he stood in-front of a charred tree, he needed to practice how to use his powers where it wouldn't completely drain him in a fight and efficiently use it, otherwise he'd end up dead.

As he stood infront of the tree, thinking of how to reduce his exhaustion, he felt a presence on top of the tree to his right, almost sinister. Glancing at it with one eye, he shot an arc of lightning towards the branch he felt presence with. His yellow lightning looked as if it was absorbed and dissipated in a crackle of light red. Levi froze, he remembered this feeling and it only happens when she's here.

A shadow moved the branch slightly, then a figure suddenly appeared before him, a feminine figure. Crackles of lightning wrapping around her legs in a flash of white, tinge with purple. A sense of familiarity hit Levi as the figure smiled and said, "Leeeeeevi!", "What's with the hostility?" It was Avery, a sort-of teacher and long time friend of Levi. She stood imposingly, and also in a pose, her hands to her sides, along with her goofy grin. Levi's eyes widened, his yellow pupils being shown moreso than before. Levi jumped up and gave her a hug, "Woah. Where'd that come from?" Avery said teasingly before returning the hug.

"So you were training huh?" she asked unsurprised, "You were always hardworking, I'm sure you'll surpass me very soon. Hell even that shot earlier was intense." She then began to help him with his training, telling him how to use his powers properly, as she had the same powerset except that her mastery over it was many times better than Levi's. Levi would bet that right now, she's one of the strongest 'hero 'for' hire' at the moment. Though, she was like a migratory bird, she could come and go as she wanted. The last time Levi saw her was two years ago, so the hug was warranted.

"Heard about this Umbra fellow." she said in the middle of playing with her lightning, turning it into a soft, purplish kitten. "I don't think I can help, I've got a lead on the EHLM scientist and Millenium city was in the way so I decided to visit. Anyways, they don't need little old me when they have you Levi!"
"... I think you may be a better asset. You see there's this team forming, some strike-force that'll take Umbra down." Levi replied in between breaths of air due to the usage of his powers, "Still after the EHLM scientist huh... please call me if you need assistance, I'll try to rush there, but I don't think you'd me with my skills."

"As humble as ever Levi, don't downplay your own abilities." she replied, hopping upwards, "I'll crash at your place for a few days aight."
"Alright." he said, almost preparing to leave since the day was slowly being engulfed by darkness.

As they were walking home, Levi and Avery were on top of a bridge, she eyed a man harassing a girl below the bridge, "Hey Levi, I'll teach you another fun trick." she said, motioning her to a gun with two barrels and aiming directly at the man. "Pew!" she continued as a small arc of lightning came out of her fingers and hit behind the man's kneecaps and made him fall on the floor. The girl being harassed promptly ran away. As per usual Levi was amazed at the power and accuracy she had, she needed to put a certain amount of power into that small arc for it to travel to that distance without sizzling out before it met the mans kneecaps.
"Impressive as always Avery." Levi said, mimicking her hand motion before turning away and walking.

"Thanks!" she replied in a giggle before following behind him like a waddling duck.

---

They reached Levi's home, and Levi made his way to the altar and bowed slightly before heading to his room, crashing into his bed because of his tiredness. Avery stayed at the living room, taking a solemn bow at the altar, and grabbing her bag she fished out a whiskey bottle and poured one for herself and Jaine. Avery talked the night away with Jaine's picture, about her travels, people she'd met and her experiences. She was slightly surprised at the condition of the altar, being perfect although it had been years...

Levi woke up, birds chirping and the low sun rising ever so slowly, he lazily eyed the clock and it was about 5:00 in the morning. Levi got up and walked to the shower, his eyes staring at the wall as he rinsed himself. He got out of the shower, his trousers on, with a towel hanging from his neck, he was heading to his room which passed the living room, Avery was a drunk mess infront of the altar, before turning back to the noise of feet shuffling behind him. Levi was standing there shirtless, slightly confused yet accepted it since it was Avery.
"Hehe~ your body's looking good Levi- *hic*, how many girls have you been screwing." she said in her drunken haze,
"What does 'screwing' mean?" Levi replied in his naivety with a confused upturned brow, he hadn't had time to think about relationships because of his 'work'.
"I- *hic*, forgot how cutely naive you were. But don't worry big sis' Avery will get you one." she continued, her breath dank.
"Don't overexert yourself." he replied in confusion before walking into his room and grabbing a shirt and heading into the kitchen to make breakfast for himself and Avery.

It was a simple breakfast, eggs and bacon. The silent sizzle made Levi remember the old days where he had to cook for her when he was still younger. A small smile forming on his face before returning to his deadpan expression.

He placed both the plates on the table and began silently eating, with drunken Avery joining him soon after, trying to finally sober up. Thus it was a silent breakfast with both of them.

==

It was about 10:00am, and Levi had decided to head to the 'headquarters' of the team Ditch was forming and ask about the teams going after Walker and Scarlet, where they were meeting and when, he figured two days time would have been enough. Avery followed him as well, commenting on the integrity of the building and the construction going on around it. She was bustling with energy not that she'd sober up. As they entered the main room where the meeting took place it was empty, a few seats here and there, Levi decided to wait until Ditch came around, and Avery did the same, eager to interact with his new 'friends', even though he didn't refer to them as such.
