Everyone was saying farewells and walking out the door, and Graffiti chose to make the dynamic exit. She has a disctinct style. But that was kinda expected from someone whose name comes from street art. Huh, she can fly, Neat. And I was just about to offer her a lift. But...Ghost Mobile? Ecto looked at Ditch.
"She does know I'm not actually dead, right...?"

Although it wasn't really clear, what Eric called Spectral Form was actually some kind of air elemental with healing powers, but it was easier to say they were ghost powers and call himself Ecto - short for Ectoplasm - rather than Aero or something.
He waved goodbye to the others and flew out the window that Graffiti used.

The air was cool and there was a slight breeze in the night. He looked around, noticed Omega walking in the direction of the river and a small shape in the sky, rapidly moving away from the warehouse. That had to be her, so he darted that way. As he started to close in, he felt a weird, tingling sensation and as he tried to dodge a tall building, his sight blurred and hit the building to the next at alarming speed. That probalby could have shattered his skull in a corporeal form. What the hell was that...? He was levitating next to the office building he just hit, and saw that as the tingling left him, the cars below seemed to speed up. Confused, he shrugged and continued to chase after Graffiti. As he got back to track, he started to feel the same strange feeling as before. He looked down and everything was slower, except the buildings, they were coming at him MUCH faster. Wait a minute, I can't fly this fast. What the hell is going on? He slowed his pace to avoid hitting anything. Making sense of this had to come later, as he noticed the vigilante on one of the houses, next to an alleyway.

"...How's your hand to hand skills? or do you prefer the stealthy approach?" Ecto smiled.

"Do you like scare tactics?" Eric was experimenting with altering his form lately, but he wasn't going to try in out in the field yet, especially not now. There were other ways to making people afraid.

"I'm thinking about sneaking down there. I would disable their car from the inside, so they could not use that. Then turn off the lights from the nearest street lamp. That would get them spooked. Then the garbage container to block their way from the other side. Finally, set off the car alarm and hold one of them down. That would probably be enought form them to crap their pants. Once they are paranoid enough, you could come down and ambush them. I bet they won't put up much of a fight, AND you can still get to say the cool shit you wanted. "

Wraith

Wraith had decided that there was something very, very wrong with morning people. She could understand being awake if there was some kind of appointment, or perhaps a house fire, but who would voluntarily get up before at least 10, given the choice? Note, voluntarily. Apparently being 'grounded' involved her father making her get up before he went to work, go to the kitchen, and be subjected to a long disappointed lecture on life decisions. At 7AM. This had to violate at least one of her human rights.

Sadly, there was no way for her to confront the culprit, as her dad had already left for work.

At least she would always have coffee. The only positive part of the morning was getting a mug of delicious caffeine to start the day. She knew her dad had gone out to get some more recently, and was searching the cupboards to find it while she boiled the water. Where was it? Come on, there had to be a packet! Tucked away at the side of a drawer, there was a bag of coffee, which she eagerly grabbed, and used to make herself a mug, settling down on the couch with it in hand.

Just as she was about to take a sip, she realised that something felt wrong. She gasped, staring in horror at the mug as though it were a nuclear bomb about to detonate. She felt her skin crawling, pins and needles racing along her back, she could practically taste the horror that lingered in the air around her. It can't be. Dad! You told me it was okay, that everything was fine! Why!? still, deep down, Wraith knew she had been betrayed, and stared at the monstrosity that lay before her.

Decaf.

After recovering from the emotional turmoil of the previous hour, Wraith decided that she was no longer complying with the grounding. She had suffered enough without being trapped indoors all day, thank you very much. Besides, who else was going to deal out justice to the masses? Certainly not those idiots she'd dealt with last night. She'd be surprised if they could find the word 'justice' in a dictionary. Speaking of idiots, though, she considered visiting that 'headquarters' they'd been at last night. They'd mentioned renovations, and a minifridge. Wraith liked minifridges. They were conveniently sized both for storing beverages and swinging at evildoers. The best of both worlds.

Then again, there was always the chance that there would be someone else having the same idea as her, and she wasn't sure that she would really feel like having a conversation with any of them. Team bonding would inevitably be necessary, but it wasn't always fun having to maintain her cheerful persona in front of that lot. Especially since she suspected a few of them saw right through it. Thinking about it though, they'd figure out her motivations if she was the one to get a hold of Wall Walker. I'll have to ask Ditch if we want them alive. And whether it will hurt the plans if that doesn't happen.

She did have a few things that she wanted to clarify, actually. And perhaps it would do her good to interact with her teammates, all things being what they were, so she headed out to headquarters, taking her usual equipment with her just in case. She decided to keep the mask in her pocket seeing as it was daytime. Dressing up was all well and good in the dead of night, but while the sun was out she just felt like an idiot. She needed it with her though - no telling when she might get a call.

She arrived at the headquarters not too long after - a few choice shortcuts through walls could save a girl a surprising amount of time, and the one guy who'd threatened her with a knife had barely put up a fight. It took more energy not to laugh at him than it did to finish him off. She supposed that was what evading justice did to you. After that, people had seemed to keep their distance from her a little. Their wide-eyed stares had been slightly creepy.

She thought about putting on her mask before entering the 'headquarters', but kept it in her pocket instead. She wasn't anyone important in her normal life, and as such, had no public identity to hide from. Even her vigilante identity wasn't very well known, since she didn't exactly leave many witnesses behind, and fewer than that had been brave enough to spread rumours. As she entered the room, she noticed a pair of people already in there. A woman that she was pretty sure she'd never seen before, and... Was that the lightning guy? Oh, goody. He sure seemed like the life of the party. Still, might as well try to be sociable.

"Well, well, well. I was kinda convinced you weren't coming back after your little performance." she called out with a smile, taking in her surroundings before she strolled over to them. Wraith was admittedly slightly worried she would offend him with her attempts at conversation, but no harm in trying. Okay, maybe a lot of harm in trying. To one of them, at least.

"Anyway, what was I saying? Oh, right. You're the lightning guy, Levi, I think Ditch called you? And your friend here..." Wraith turned to look at her directly. "Well, meaning no offense, I don't think I've seen you before in my life."

She gave the pair a confident smile, before remembering that Levi had left before the introductions. "Oh, yeah. I don't know if you've been told our names yet, but I'm Wraith. I guess we're gonna be working together for a while."

Interacting with: Ditch @CloudyBlueDay, Wraith @Lasrever

As they both sat in the shadows, making small idle talk, a female voice resounded from behind them,
"Well, well, well. I was kinda convinced you weren't coming back after your little performance."

"Wrai-" Levi said but was cut off by Avery whispering to him with a closed hand, "Ooh she looks pretty Levi!" she stated, too loud to be a whisper, even though meant to be one. "Is she your girlfriend?"
"No. She's not, it's one of the vigilantes called by Ditch that I told you about.." he replied, lightly shaking his head.

"Anyway, what was I saying? Oh, right. You're the lightning guy, Levi, I think Ditch called you? And your friend here... Well, meaning no offense, I don't think I've seen you before in my life."

"Don't worry about it too much! Just visiting is all." Avery replied to her in a high pitched tone, a huge goofy smile forming on her face in reply to Wraith's confident smile.

"Oh, yeah. I don't know if you've been told our names yet, but I'm Wraith. I guess we're gonna be working together for a while."

Levi was actually surprised someone was trying to interact with him, especially after that display, but yeah, they were going to be stuck with each other for a while, so no point in making trouble for no reason.
"Likewise." he replied to her with a small nod, his deadpan expression on his face instead of his glare, "Ditch had already filled me in with all of who you were."

“Well, Miss Wraith, what are you waiting for here?” Avery asked her with childlike curiosity,

There was a bit of a snort - like someone waking up suddenly, and a creaking of sorts up above. Both Levi and Avery would find their gazes travelling to the rickety platform, where a black-clothed figure stood, rubbing their head. Ditch, of course.

Wraith sighed in irritation. “That.” she said, gesturing in the direction of the noise. “I just have a few questions about later, and I thought I’d get them figured out.”

“God fucking dammit, I fell asleep.” She muttered, leaning over the railing. “Yo, Levi, Wraith. Hate to break it to you both, but there ain't gonna be a meeting here.” Ditch yawned. “When I find locations I- Hey. Who's your friend?”

“Heeey! I’m Avery, Levi’s sister of sorts~” Avery said, looking at the half awake individual, holding out a hand grinning ear to ear, “What’s your beautiful name?” Levi sighed in the back, she got too excited for things like this and would usually step overboard, so he hoped this time she wouldn’t.

Ditch looked incredibly unimpressed as Avery stuck out her hand very exuberantly. “I thought you only had one sister, Levi.” Ditch said, resting her gaze on Sparky. She hadn’t even bothered to answer Avery’s question yet as she stuffed her laptop into her backpack and looked back at the two, stifling another yawn. “Ditch,” She said as she jumped down from the platform the same way she had two days ago.

“It’s complicated.” Levi replied simply, “She’s a long time friend, and my actual mentor that had help me in controlling and using my so called ‘gift’. She has the same powers as me, coincidentally enough, but alot more adept than I am.” As Levi stated this, she formed a small purple-ish kitten of lightning, prancing around her arms. Avery was had the bad habit of showing off too much. “Honestly though, I don’t think she’s going to stick around much, she moves around alot.” Levi continued, glancing at Avery, he honestly believes that she could be more up to speed to this group’s speed, but other engagements has her tied up.

“Mmm, yeah, but don’t worry you got little Levi here instead of me.” Avery said, the lightning kitten now on her shoulders, she then placed her hands on top of Levi’s head and began ruffling it hard, “Just here cause I was curious about Levi’s friends, is all!”
“Anyhow, you were saying something about a location?” Levi asked, bringing the topic back to speed, and pushing off Avery’s hand, slightly embarrassed.

“Hmn. Alright.” Ditch said, seemingly amused as she watched the lightning kitten prance all over Avery. “I hope you trust her, because this place and the people who come here expect me to keep it entirely private.” Ditch muttered.

“Yeah. I’m this close to pinpointing both --” Ditch looked at Avery warily. “Both rogue’s locations. “If I hadn’t fallen asleep, I would’ve had em by now.” Ditch sighed.

“Don’t worry about Avery, I trust her more than I do myself.” Levi replied to the cautious Ditch, “I can wait.” Levi continued, plopping down onto the seat, eyeing the room around him. Avery curiously looking around the room, if they were siblings, Levi would look like the older brother.

“I’d… hmph. It’ll be a few hours minimum, you know. What time is it, anyway.” Ditch took a quick look at her watch. “10am. Yeah. Definitely not until after lunch or something. Lest I fall asleep again.” Ditch said with a shrug. “I guess you can stay for a bit, though. It’s just gonna be me digging around, nothing special.”

She looked at Levi a little bit closer. “Huh. So your eyes glow yellow, but she’s got no glow going on, even if you have the same power?” Ditch gestured between them.

“What?” Avery asked, looking into Levi’s eyes deeper and leaning in close to him. They did emanate a tinge of dark-amber yellow, glowing lightly in the darkness. “That’s so coool, why didn’t I get that power, I wanna have a tinge of purple coming off my eyes! I’d totally look like Cyclops.” She continued, sarcastically complaining and pouting at Levi,
Levi pondered about it for a minute, and wondered himself, “I have no idea, I didn’t even know they glowed…” he replied, slight confusion and sincere wonder in his tone, his eyes squinting slightly. “Maybe the experiments had a part…” Levi trailed off, his voice tensing up now. Even Avery’s smile slightly wearing off at the mention of ‘experiments'.

Ditch’s look softened slightly as both Avery and Levi fell silent. “Shouldn’t’ve said anything.” She muttered.

Wraith felt like this might be a good point to change the subject - experiments seemed like something she didn’t feel like getting into. Especially with the pair of lightning wielders, who she was pretty sure had something wrong with them. Clearing her throat, she awkwardly spoke up. “So, uh… Ditch. About the criminals, Wall Hugger and Scarlet Switcher or whatever their names were… What do you want us to do when we catch them?”

“I’m assuming if you catch them, they’ll be subdued. There’s hardly any other way you’ll get them unless they come willingly. So you can bring them here.”

Wraith barely held her smile. “And why are we bringing them back here, exactly?” She asked, examining her fingernails like it was a perfectly innocent question.

Ditch narrowed her eyes at Wraith. “So we can talk to them. Umbra is targeting them, and they need to know what danger they’re in. If we’re lucky, we might get a few favors from ‘em. Otherwise, my only goal here is just to make sure they’re watching their back, and ultimately help them stay away from Umbra.”

Wraith locked eyes with Ditch, revealing the coldness that lay behind her smile. “Okay, let me ask you just one more question, oh fearless leader.” She said, giving up on even pretending with the friendly persona. “Why, exactly, do we care if they live or die? Theoretically. I mean, accidents do happen, you know?”

“Right now, all I care about is if Umbra gets them.” Ditch said bluntly. “If Umbra sinks his teeth into either of them, like I said, we're a whole other level of fucked.” Ditch gritted her teeth. “That doesn't mean you can kill them.”

Wraith let her eyes go wide and gave out an exaggerated gasp. “Kill them? Whatever gave you that idea? All I’m saying is that people who break the law are prone to unfortunate accidents! I am a firm believer in karma, that’s all.” She allowed a childlike grin to cross her face, looking as though she was about to burst out laughing at Ditch. “You can continue with whatever you were doing now. I think you’ve answered all of my questions.”

Avery had begun exploring god knows where at the hideout, but Levi stayed back and silently listened to the conversation happening between Wraith and Ditch. Alright, Levi knew he wasn’t right in the head, but Wraith took it up a notch. Under the guide of darkness, his lightning silently crackled, ”... I’ve read up on your cases, Wraith, and have in fact visited some of the sites...” Levi spoke up but then trailed off, he had a hunch that some of those ‘accidents’ were very circumstantial and convenient, ”I’d prefer it if we just keep them alive, and aim to maim unless it is an absolute necessity.”

Wraith had to admit, she wasn’t expecting the objection from Levi. It seemed like this wasn’t a battle she was likely to win, so she decided it would be best to go along with them for now. “Fine. You win. No accidents unless absolutely necessary.” Technically, she wasn’t even lying. She suspected that she had a very different definition of ‘absolutely necessary’, though.

Ditch let out a huff. She gave Levi a quick thankful nod, but otherwise, she knew she would have to keep her eye on Wraith. “I have work to do. If you're gonna stay, keep quiet.” Was all she said, clearly irritated.

Chapter Two - Rogue

CHANNEL 7 - Millennium City News!

"Hello and welcome to Millennium City evening news with your host Scotty Declan! Your only source for the truth. Tonight we have word of another heroic individual, one Hummingbird, gone missing to new and rising criminal activity. The popular young woman is only one in a string of vanishing powered individuals such as Suiren, the psychotic and heartless water manipulator, as well as Sapphire, a cold and calculating illusionist, who have fallen under the shadow of the city's newest villain Umbra. The criminal has proven quite lethal so far and appears to be quite unknown as of yet except for his growing casualty count, more information on that as we have it. Tonight one of our most famous heroes Captain Powerhouse is being congratulated outside for foiling an attempted robbery by the notorious Wall Walker once again by having no fear in following the thief through his precious walls. Let’s head over to the scene with our ace reporter, Miss Sarah Fortune, how’s it looking out there Sarah?"

“It’s looking good Scotty, with only a few hundred thousand dollars worth of property damage! Captain Powerhouse is certainly known for his effectiveness! So tell us, Captain Powerhouse, how do you feel about the fact that despite your best efforts Wall Walker once again escaped?”

“Well Miss Fortune, I have to say that even the slipperiest of cockroaches will one day meet their nuclear end with me in this city.”

“… Great! I’m sure Wall Walker is shaking in his boots right now Captain Powerhouse. And do you have anything to say to those in Goldrose Bank?”

“Well, they’re welcome of course.”

“Of course. You do this city a great service, Captain Powerhouse, and I look forward to what will no doubt be another stimulating interview with our resident superhero! Back to you, Scotty!”

"Thank you Sarah. It sound like our burly Captain is ready and raring for another go all for our well-beings and our wallets. Onto the weather with our extraordinary Oscar Fontaine! Whats the weather looking like for this week sir?"

"Haha, nice one Scotty. The weather today is looking fantastic, we've not a beautiful clear day in the mid 80's, perfect to go out for a nice walk in the park! Looks like we've got a small weather front moving in though, leading to some rain tonight and cooler weather tomorrow.

"We've also seen some heavy air traffic the past few days, from our resident Supers tying up the sky lanes. Most are keeping low, flying between or just above buildings, but some have been seen at high altitudes. Keep your cameras ready, you might see a flying star! Back to you, Scotty."

"Sounds lovely Oscar! Now covering the last big event on tonight's news, the large protest at Vale street came to a head when the Multi-billion dollar heiress Zoey Kasimir made a public appearance to explain her intentions for the newly purchased apartment complex. The crowd got extremely fired up as reporters asked the hard hitting questions to which the young woman seemed to stumble nearly triggering a frenzy until the young heroine Angel appeared to disarm them. Sources say that with her intervention not only the crowd but Miss Kasimir seemed to come to an agreement that was less about profit and more about the people. Soon after both women left the scene and it looks as if the standing was mutual or maybe it was more? More information as it comes from Millennium City news your unbiased and balances source for important events. Good night and stay safe!"

The screen goes black, though audio still plays.

"Great show everyone! Hey Oscar, want to go get a drink after we wrap up?" "Fuck off Scotty, nobody wants to talk to you."

Two days after the first meeting, at 4:07pm, every vigilante had received a text message.

“I have locations of both the rogues. If you’re going after Wall Walker, meet me at Miss Cauldwell’s Orphange for Young Children, Mermary Lane. If you’re going after Scarlet Shifter, I hid security cams at the last place I looked for her, and sure enough, she’s there now. Francesco Way, 3155. Both groups need to move fast. And please do you best not to aggravate either rogue. I’d like for all of us to come out of this mostly unharmed.”

Scarlet Shifter

The house at 3155 was almost not even a house. A part of the roof was bashed in, the door was propped up against the doorway, not even attached to the hinges. The porch was littered with trash, and it looked like a single step on it would cause it to cave. But despite what Ditch had said, upon entering, it would look completely empty. Once again, trash covered the floor, some wood was molded and blackened, the staircase to the second floor had several missing stairs, and the kitchen looked like a rat’s nest. Aside from the horrid creaking noise that escaped the house with every step you took, no other sounds were made.

Had Ditch lied?

Wall Walker

Across the street from Miss Cauldwell’s orphanage for Young Children, Ditch stood with crossed arms, leaning against a brick wall. It seemed that all the places Ditch picked were horribly trashy, because Mermary lane was almost as empty and dirty as Racket Ave. That was the slums of Millennium City for you. Hopefully Ditch would send you on a mission to the upper class area at some point.

The only semi well-kept building was the orphanage. Usually you could hear children screaming and shouting from miles away, but today there was nothing but silence. Some big, rich company had donated money to the orphanage to take the kids on a field trip to the zoo in an attempt to make themselves look better.

She carried a satchel bag this time, still big enough to hold her laptop but considerably smaller than the backpack she had at their first meeting. Ditch wore the same, or similar black clothing, but she was without her mask. She wore no glasses, and her hair was tucked back into her hoodie. She did not once take her gaze off of the orphanage. Something was brewing.

(Before Chapter 2)

“Ah, Gorgon Eyes.” Ditch’s voice was coming from somewhere above -- ah. The little platform, able the stage, where she'd first stood when people came to their previous meeting. “Nice to see ya. Got anything you need to discuss?” The infamous hacker was sitting crisscross with her laptop, peering down at Isabel as she casually sipped a can of beer below. “Also. Don't worry. I didn't see you changing.”

“Oh, you were here too uh,” she said, and while it was sudden it was hardly surprising, Ditch, with all her data mining, looked like someone who could be sneaky. Of course, there was also the fact that Isabel’s senses were not the best and even an elephant would be able to go unnoticed by her at times. “Wait, how did you even knew I changed then?” She tilted her head. “Ah, yes, uh, do you know how Shifter’s powers work? I’m not very up to date with the villain and vigilante scenario”

“Saw you changing. Looked away.” Ditch replied simply, waving her hand as if to say ‘Obviously’. “And Shifter’s powers? I’ve never seen her up close. All I know is she can turn into any animal, and they’re usually very large. You’ll learn from experience, I suppose.” Ditch said with a shrug.

“I see, it will be an interesting experience, so far I never had a serious situation with another Super, I did bash some in the street, but they were not really much of a thing, barely kept up a fight” she shrugged too “I did talk with my sister too, I think you know who she is from all the spying, she knows about a lot of stuff, sadly no info from there either” she reached for her bag and took a can of beer “Want one?”

Ditch’s expression turned just the slightest bit sour as Isabel mentioned speaking to her sister. It was clear she didn’t like that info was being passed around. “You need to be careful who you speak too. In no time it’ll come back and bite you in the ass.” Ditch muttered. She gazed at the can of beer, and held up her hand, motioning for Gorgon to throw it to her.

“Here you go!” She threw it with enough care to not spin too much and give Ditch a bad time when she tried to open the thing. “Damn, I’m legitimately sorry, you know, family and stuff, you just get a bit used to it…” she stopped talking for a few seconds, thinking if this talk was appropriate, considering why she was called Ditch “Either way, won’t happen again” she made a zip movement across her mouth.

She expertly caught the can of beer, popping it open and taking a long sip. “As long as you trust they won’t turn on you. Just, you know. Keep your teammate’s identity’s safe. It could mean everything.” Ditch sighed. “But thanks. I appreciate the sensitivity.”
Teams, that was a word that didn’t even cross Isabel’s mind, she spent most of her life on her own, it was still very odd to have anyone with a link of responsibility tied to her. “I wouldn’t want to cause any trouble to those wackos, considering how many problems they cause to themselves already and all” she took a long swig from her can of beer, finishing it, and then placing the empty thing in a green bag in her backpack full of other cans and plastic. With another can in hand, she continued “But maybe I might get used to our squad, I also thought that everyone in the college was bananas in my freshman year but now I have friends and all. I do not know really, spending so much time alone in a jungle can make you a bit socially awkward, it does make it easier to deal with animals, though, maybe I can just pat Scarlet’s head and have her joining us” she grinned slightly.

Ditch, after another long sip of beer, snorted. “Scarlet won’t go down without a fight, I can promise you that.” She shook her head. “We really are a bunch of whackos. These fucking powers. I wonder what the world would be like without ‘em.” Ditch sighed and tipped the can again.

“Well, the world was without those for 99% of its existence, stuff still died in dumb ways. Particularly the big stuff, while the little lizards, mammals and birds survived to tell the story, I mean, the mammals did, and birds can do it too if it's like a parrot.” She went for another gulp but noticed this can was empty already “Anyway, Maybe that is why Umbra and you thrive so much, at least in face of stronger heroes, survival of the fittest does not mean survival of the strongest, most of the time it's the contrary” with this she grabbed her backpack up “And I think I will be going, my pets would go mad if they woke up in the morning and didn’t see me, or more importantly, their food. I should probably find a friend to keep them, with all the rush we are going through.”

She sighed, then smiled “Thanks for hearing my babble, but get some sleep you nerd, wouldn’t want you dozing off while making the decisions that could end our lives. And add some recyclable material bins to the design of the HQ, what is the point of defeating the big bad Umbra if we trash up the Earth?” She was not typically this forceful with her views, but alcohol had this odd effect of bringing the activist inside her out.

Ditch let out a small laugh at Isabel’s rambling. It intrigued her and interested her, but mostly she got a good kick out of what the girl had to say, especially since she had been very quiet earlier.

“Thanks for stopping by.” Ditch said with a grin.

Manny woke the next day ready to take on the world. The previous day had been pretty satisfying and his dark emotions had been successfully pushed aside. Supers were disappearing way too quickly, and he hoped that Ditch would be able to locate Scarlet Shifter and Wall Walker before Umbra got to them as well. He needed to be prepared for when Ditch called him to action, so he immediately set to training, this time with heavier gravity.

After his session, he decided that he was going to go visit his father, since he saw his mom and brother yesterday. He got dressed and headed up to the garage through his hidden entrance. Manny’s dad owned a construction business, simply named McClain Construction Co., that was located in Midtown near the financial district. This time Manny opted for his bicycle - his usual mode of transportation for moving through the city.

When he arrived at McClain Construction, only the office staff was present. His dad was probably out on site, so Manny gave him a call.

“Hey, Manny,” his dad had his number programmed in, so of course he knew who was calling.

“Hey, dad. Where you workin’ today? I’m down at the office. Came to see if I could give you a hand today.”

“We’re not too far away. Got called to fix the walls that the mighty ‘Captain’ decided to plow through. Damn supers...always tearing things up claiming that they’re ‘saving the day’. Does keep me in business, at least.”

“Dad…”

“Oh, not you...you know what I mean. Just come on down. We can use the help.”

“Be there in a bit.”

Manny hung up and headed to the site. Upon arrival, Manny instantly facepalmed and started rubbing his temples. It was a huge freaking mess. Captain D-bag had done it again. Manny really didn’t understand why anyone liked him. He was just an arrogant prick who just threw his weight around and smiled for the cameras...at least that’s what Manny thought. Scenes like this just emphasized the notion.

Manny helped his dad’s crew for a few hours before receiving a text from Ditch. Miss Cauldwell’s Orphange for Young Children, Mermary Lane. That’s not that far from where we were the other night. Looks like duty calls. He told his dad he had some things to take care of, and found himself a discreet place to change into his hero wear - which proved to be slightly difficult in the middle of Midtown during the day. He hit the rooftops as usual and made his way to where Ditch was waiting in the slums.

As the orphanage came into view, Omega spotted Ditch waiting across the street. He was surprised to see her without her mask, though she did still have the same baggy hoodie. She really just looked like a normal inconspicuous girl. He landed on the roof of the building where Ditch was leaning and walked to the edge. He then continued over the edge walking 90 degrees perpendicular to the ground down toward his teammate and stopped when he got right next to her. He crouched and laid back as if he were on the ground with his arms folded behind his head. Ditch didn’t really break her gaze on the orphanage.

“It’s kind of quiet. Aren’t there usually a bunch of screaming children in an orphanage?”

The sound of the TV ending her message, Aurora sat back on her couch. Her flat was a strange place, the flooring all different types of textures creating paths. The walls covered in awards and strange art work that look nothing but blobs of paint. The only light from the screen now gone, she was engulfed in the same darkness she called home.

"Idiot" only reason why people like Powerhouse was that he was loud. "Guess thats what I get for living in America." A sigh escaping her lips she ran a now bandaged hand through her hair. She thought it was a good idea to do vigilant training after she got home last night. Yet being blind and having no partner usually left her with injuries before she realized it. Still, its what was needed to be done on a team. She can't go dragging anyone down not even for a moment.

Turning on her record player she put one of the massive discs on the device. Carefully moving the needle only to be met with the songs "ABC by MJ" well that was a nice find from yesterday. Though she was sure she had three of those same records.
It was not even a half hour till she felt her phone ring. Fishing it out of her pocket the albino ran her finger's over the pad. Interest captured realizing it was Ditch. "Orphanage huh? guess I'll have to take Dullahan."

Wall walker's trace would be faint at best. She needed something that she could semi blend into a crowed with. Her hands brushing a lace back coat and pants, a tag on each printed V, fingers grabbing the hoods she began to change. Leaving through the elevator already dressed with her phone in hand. It was not till she was in the back that she summoned the beast again.
"Its hooves of thunder shall carry another. Under the guise for eyes that have not yet seen, it shall punish those, who have yet to bleed."

The sounds of hooves began to greet her. A bray of a horse that she could say belonged to her own. Yet to anyone passing by, as she climbed the headless animal's back, all they saw was a woman turning on a motorcycle. Riding through the streets with ease. "To the Orphanage, we have travelled there once, your memory still serves yes?" A bray in response she smiled, least she had a way of getting there without getting lost.
Her hand reaching for her brow, she felt her mask take place on her features. Raven Tale moving through the streets, some probably pointing at such a odd feature that passed by. The cooling air greeting her, Aurora hung on with her legs. Her hands holding reins yet to many seemed like handle bars. A calm air about her as they moved. Like a reaper waiting to gather the lost souls that dare wander their path.
Minutes passing and she began to smell more oders. The smoke having added on to trash, urine, brews and vomit. It was always like that here, a place of humans trying their best to stay alive in this hellish place. "Easy boy" patting his neck he went to a trot, the sight not turning any heads for those who passed by now.

Feeling a twitch in the beast's side she turned him, his neck moving to face a direction, she stilled her body. Focusing on anything that could give someone away, sure enough there were two. Raven Tale rolling in on her Dullahan, her white mane covered by feathers and features blocked from fabric. It seemed she had everything in place to work with the others.
Dismounting she nodded her head, closing the book in hand. "Disperse my friend, until our paths cross once more." In a wisp of smoke the beast obeyed, vanishing from eyes. Rummaging through her pockets the woman produced her ebony cane, flicking it with her wrist so she could feel around her.
"Tis good to see you again. I imagine we await on others." Yeah, there were two aright, one had to be Ditch, the other was male, larger than herself so it couldn't be Glow stick or Ecto.
Feeling the looming building on her left she tapped her cane. She could already feel the chill down her spine, this was something more than hunting down a petty thief. Her work was going to be cut out for her.

Girard stood up from a crouch taking time wipe the sweat off his brow and a look at the newly refurbished section that just got finished. He was impressed with how much they were getting done around the theater/soon to be HQ because it was starting to look a bit better as they fixed what was possible and tore out what wasn't, even did a little tidying up when a room was done here or there. The big guy had gotten to the place a bit early finding a nice hidden spot for his duffle bag where he kept his get up whenever he got called on by Ditch. It was always the waiting in a situation like this that got to him patient as he was especially since it didn't just concern sticking it to Umbra but keeping some other powered people out of his hands. Sure they were rogues but they deserved the same shot as any of the new vigilante group for getting back up or protection before it was too late.

The morning had been rather uneventful if a little tense after the previous night's news that another big name hero, Hummingbird, was missing which was concerning. The fact that the speedster had managed to get out paced or out done spoke a volume about how well Umbra and his people could operate. Soon enough it would be them on the chopping block and it was not something to be taken lightly but it the meantime they had a damn decent chance of turning it back in favor of the vigilantes before the big showdown. This thought is what kept the doubt away as well as providing the big man with motivation but he really wasn't in need of much. Tank had taken some time to look amongst his materials in his workshop noticing a couple large to moderate sized chunks of the stage that he had nabbed. He figured no one would miss them but they could make for a decent little carving or something later on if he felt inspired, though that had yet to happen.

Girard perked up when he heard his phone which was what he had been waiting for all day so far ready to put some energy into the old plan Ditch had cooked up. In the back of his mind he was hoping Shifter would have the common sense to at least try and hear them out if they got to her quickly enough. Of course that was his optimism speaking for him but he liked the thought better than getting into a scrap with the rogue which he would do if left no choice. Unlike most other vigilantes a massive animal hardly scared him let alone threatened him in a straight up fight but he had to remember he wasn't alone and whether the others realized or not the big guy was responsible for the safety of his team as he saw it. They weren't pushovers any of them in combat but not everyone could take that same kind of hits except maybe Turn Back, but even he had his limits, where as he could keep going. Not like his weaknesses were limited but if it came to a hard physical fight there were only a couple powered people in the city who could match him and he planned to take full advantage of it.

He took a look at the message to see where the meet up was going to go down shortly realizing it wouldn't take him long to get there since it was still in the slums. Having planned for this earlier it only took an excuse of a doctor's appointment to get him on his way, it was a decent enough excuse for Tim who let him go in a hurry. Tank found his way back over to his duffle bag managing to find a secluded spot to get his jacket and helmet on having worn his pants to work so he could save time. Not unlike him to wear camo occasionally anyways so it wouldn't draw attention where as his helmet or jacket were far more distinctive. Once he was ready to move out there was no break or hesitation as Girard made his way over to Francesco Way where the mission would go down. Once he got within sight, around a corner to cover himself, one singular thought stood out as he looked at the building.

How the hell am I supposed to get in there? This place is even more of a rickety dump than the HQ was.

Maybe there would be some humor to gain from him falling through more structures but if the old house's looks were anything to go by he might damn well bring the whole thing down if by some miracle he got past the porch and steps not to mention what he could see/smell on the inside from his position. Oh this felt like a joke intentional or not in retaliation for the stage from Ditch, not that he would put it past the others to have input. For now he would stick to his spot around a corner keeping an eye out for the rest of his allies to get there as he thought about if he should even attempt to get inside or just cover the outside.

"Ridiculous shit this is." Girard mumbled to himself taking his time to survey the area for the moment just to keep his attention away from the mess ahead.

In the background, the three that had already arrived could hear the soft roaring of a bike - though if one had such an ear for things, it was notably quieter than it should have been. After a few moments, Rose had walked from around the corner, apparently parked in the back of building, with her cowl set over her head again. It was a bit easier to make her face out in daylight, but it was still enough that if one didn't know to look for her, they wouldn't have thought anything of it except it just being the vigilante Black Rose. At first, she didn't say anything, pausing at the corner and adjusting her gloves and bending over to adjust something on her boots before looking up and then over to the orphanage.

"I'm surprised he'd be here... maybe someone important is here? Maybe he was once an orphan?" she suggested softly. She had thought it was the oddest thing to have one of the more infamous bank robbers visiting an orphanage of all places - even more so that Ditch had lead them here in the first place. So it obviously had some importance to the criminal. "... on the other hand, I brought a couple toys. I can't say for sure... but I'm hoping that electricity might give his incorporeal form some issues."

Rose looked over to the others, remembering that Kendall had told her to explain this to the others. As much as she wanted to talk to her more and spend some time to get to know her, now was hardly the time to do so. Still, light thoughts cross the surface of her mind as she smiled slightly at the sight of Ditch - despite her serious set-on gaze. "I have devices that attach to surface, lighting it up - so, if I attached it to a wall, the whole wall would be electrified. It only has a limited battery though.. as I only had two days to work on it.. but, uh..." Rose's gaze falls on the orphanage again. "I'd rather not use it around children - I don't want anyone getting hurt. Which I brought some backup." She motioned to her gloves and boots. "Also have small batteries to excite his molecules. Just.. so you guys know what I had brought along to help.." At that point, she promptly started to quiet. She hadn't meant to be a chatter box, but she felt the need to explain her gadgets, but having Ditch here wasn't really helping her either. Some time to develop interest in someone...

“I just don’t see the sudden interest in these things, Miss Kasimir. I assure you we have everything sorted out and handled favorably for the company.”

“And I appreciate it Wilson, but the company will still be in the clear with lower rates.”

“At almost triple the time!“

“Wilson.” From her position in front of the desk, one leg crossed over the other with her back straight and brow arched, Zoey Kasimir fitted her coldest gaze upon her regional manager. She at least fit the part of rich bitch well enough in this moment. “As I’ve stated I appreciate your efforts, but Vale Street Apartments were originally made for low income families.” Wilson was a good business man, fit and with hair just barely beginning to grey, but in this moment his age was beginning to show as he dealt with this young upstart. He rubbed a great hand at the bridge of his nose, taking in a deep breath.

“There’s not even time to change the plans to something less expensive, the McClain boys are all set to start demolition.”

“Then don’t change them.” Another frustrated groan.

“Miss Kasimir, our business the past few years has been thriving, with only the lightest touch from your father before-“

“Well maybe we should change our business plan from that of a murderer!” And just like that the mask broke, and with it Zoey’s calm. Her brows furrowed down harshly and teeth gritting. In an instant she was on her feet, grinding out between her teeth. “I’ve made my decision. Is that clear, Wilson?”

“…”

“I said, is. That. Clear?”

“… Yes, Miss Kasimir. My apologies.” As soon as the words left his mouth the desire to leave entered Zoey’s body, but she managed to grit down the urge to instead hold her hand out and keep her gaze level with the older man’s.

“Thank you. Keep up the good work, Wilson, I’ll see myself out.”

“It was my pleasure.”

It took only moments after that for Zoey to reach outside once more, pace steady and confident as she walked through the head office of Kasimir Realty. The receptionist made sure to tell her to enjoy the rest of the day, earning a small nod in response. As soon as the door to the limousine closed however the redhead immediately began to curse, hissing through her teeth. As Jasper slid into the driver’s seat she merely raised an eyebrow and started the car.

“I take it the meeting went well, Miss Kasimir.”

“Arrogant, condescending man! Oh no, it’ll take a little longer to recoup our costs from construction. Oh nooo, your father never bothered us before because he was too busy being an evil, vile man!”

“I doubt they were quite so forward, Miss Kasimir.” A huff was Jasper’s response, the young woman crossing her arms and sinking into the seat in a mood reminiscent of a brooding child.

“I need a drink, Jasper.”

“Of course. Will you be inviting the one who inspired this change to join you?” A small quirk of her brow was the first sign that Jasper had sufficiently derailed Zoey’s line of thought, the vigilante’s fingers briefly moving to touch where the top of her phone just barely peeked from a pocket. Due completely to her charms Zoey had a new number in her phone, one that she was now considering calling.

“You don’t think it’d be too soon?”

“Fortune favors the bold.”

“I’m not interested in asking that reporter out, thanks.” Zoey couldn’t help it – she laughed at her own joke. Jasper merely rolled her eyes in response. At least Zoey was happier. “Maybe though, maybe-“ It seemed her phone had other plans in that moment however as it began to vibrate. For a moment the redhead brightened as she retrieved and unlocked the phone, eyes scanning the message. Instantly her grin dripped to a grimace and she straightened up.

“Business calls, Miss Kasimir?”

“Business calls.” She agreed, pocketing the phone. “This time don’t stay up waiting for me.” They both of course knew that Jasper wouldn’t listen to that, but there was no time to argue. Slipping into a shadow had Zoey soon taking the faster route back to her home, and a quick changing session later had Reaper backtracking to head towards Francesco Way.

Admittedly, Zoey did have to stop briefly atop a roof to check on her phone where in the world 3155 Francesco Way was. She didn’t exactly know her way around this part of town easily.

With that little hiccup out of the way it took only a few minutes for Zoey to find her way to the proper neighbourhood, soon cautiously crouched on top of a roof two doors down from the target. She briefly considered shadow stepping just that bit further to the roof of 3155, but to be honest Zoey wasn’t even sure it would hold her weight – it was already partially gone! Not to mention the place seemed abandoned. Definitely wasn’t one of her properties.

Taking a deep breath Reaper focused on the hidden part of her abilities, trying to pick apart the mass of dark blobs in her minds’ eye as she sought out beacons. It was easier the closer she was, and so she could tell at least one thing about the house – and there was someone hiding nearby. A frown tugged at Reaper’s lips beneath her black mask as she considered what to do, wondering if one of her teammates had already started investigating. This would be so much easier if Ditch had given them each other’s phone numbers – or they even thought to do so themselves. A small huff before Reaper made an executive decision and was soon shadow stepping once more, looking for the beacon that was out of place and away from the house. If it was a civilian maybe a little power display could convince them to leave.

Luckily, it never came to that. Reaper quirked a brow beneath her mask as she glanced over another roof’s edge towards the powerhouse known as Tank. He was hiding, apparently waiting for the rest of them. It was best not to keep him waiting. Reaper stepped back and once more disappeared into a shadow at her feet, only to step out right beside Tank – well, almost. If he swung from surprise she didn’t want to be in range.

“Has anyone else come?” The vigilante asked quietly. There was no point in hiding her voice right now – he already heard it the other day. “Because there’s at least one person around the vicinity of that house.” A pause then, as Reaper glanced between the house and Tank.

“… How are you going to get in there?”

Interacting with: Tank @General Scales, Reaper @Blazion

Levi was once again training himself, this time trying to extend his stamina so it was cardio. He was at his home preparing for a run, Avery had disappeared to who knows where. He put on a gray-tethered jacket, and some normal running pants. Earlier the day he was listening to the news, thoroughly uninterested in the drama of the infamous 'Powerhouse', although Avery was amused at his sad attempts of self-fulfilling narcissism. Levi only remembered critical details, one, the vigilante 'Hummingbird' was missing, and he heard that she was a speedster. At the back of his mind he always wanted to test his speed against her.

Umbra was a real threat, being able to actually catch a speedster, especially one as fast as her. Thoughts like this ran through his mind in his normal jog, well 'jog' he calls it. It was rather some twisted form of a marathon. Levi had been working on his stamina after the incident, so this wasn't much. It was a long 'jog'.

He had gotten back home, Avery still missing and in his breathlessness he took a shower. Then dropping into bed for a nap, fortunately his phone woke him up three hours later, with a message from Ditch, the location of Scarlet Shifter, Francesco Way, 3155. Levi knew the general area as he frequently patrols the area. Approaching the house in the distance he saw two shadows on the corner, and activating his power, the oh so familiar dark-amber yellow began to encircle him as he approached the shady figures. His hand outstretched, Levi focuses the point on his skin.

He put his hand away when he noticed the familiar faces, apparently they were the vigilantes set for this 'team' for Scarlet Shifter. It was the shadow manipulator and the walking tank. He made his presence known,
"Tank, Reaper." Levi said appearing before the figures giving them a quick nod of acknowledgement, "I was assigned by Ditch to be present here."

Levi began eyeing the house, he quickly assumed they were waiting for the others to come, so he leaned back against the wall, the intensity of his lightning increasing.

TURN BACK

Jason Graves sat at his desk at work, stealing glances at an unfinished email in between taking phone calls. The extra money Ditch had given him last night suddenly made it possible to get something done that he'd been meaning to do for a long time. Jason finished the email and sat back, staring at the unsent document. Was this what he wanted to do? He could save that money, wait for a rainy day... He thought back to the other vigilantes, and how their 'team' looked more like a ragtag group of thugs, apart from one or two people in actual costumes.

Jason's thought process was interrupted by his personal phone buzzing, he pulled it out of his pocket and saw a text from Ditch. Time to move. He stopped by his boss's office and let him know he was heading out a little early before rushing out of the building, grabbing his backpack. He cursed to himself as he realized he hadn't changed before he left, and had to duck into a nearby McDonalds to get out of his monkey suit. He walked out of the bathroom a few moments later in his street clothes, bandanna tucked safely into his back pocket.

One Short Bus Ride Later

Turn Back stepped off the bus, not for the first time cursing his inability to get to various areas of the city in a more dignified way. He looked up at the mid-afternoon sun, squinting as he ducked into the shadows. He'd never been out this early before, but with something this big some things had to change. He wrapped his bandanna over his mouth and nose and began sprinting towards the given address, reabsorbing the expended power of each step to fuel himself. He approached the hideout of Scarlet Shifter, surprised to find it practically in ruins. Had Tank gone in already?

He caught sight of a group of three nearby, judging from the outfits they were his teammates. He skidded to a stop near them, approaching rather more quietly. "Looks like I'm the late one this time. Sorry about that, everyone. So what's the plan? How are we getting Tank in?"

Scare tactics huh? Interesting, I don't know if we can truly scare a bunch of sociopaths but we can sure as hell intimidate them. When the lights go out my costume will glow menacingly in the dark, they wont be happy to see me again.

Graffiti cracked her knuckles and peered over the edge of the building and noticed they were installing Nitrous into the new custom vehicle. She grabbed her spray cans an turned to Ecto.

Okay Ecto , do your thing! As soon as you do your possesed trash can, I'll take that as my signal to make an entrance.

----------

"Alright, check this out!"

Ecto silently swooped down to street level. He didn't want to just walk up to them, since he was not invisible, and didn't want to spoil the fun by being detected. There were some old newspapers lying around the asphalt, so he possessed them and slowly, like being affected by a breeze, approached the card they were fixing up. Once there, he jumped in the car through the exhaust.

Okay, let's see... where do I jinx the ignition?

Eric's father Isaac was an economist, but he loved cars. He regularly liked walking around car salons, just watching the vehicles, and they had a Chevy El Camino SS, and old muscle car he liked to work on. Not because it was worth it, but the process of managing the card was relaxing to him. Which is funny because Eric's other dad, Liam was the engineer. But Isaac liked to teach the basics of car mechanics to his son, which was VERY useful to Ecto at moments like these. He subtly disabled the engine and went out the back. So far so good.
One of the guys, the one with the horse face, was telling the others an obscene joke, while installing the nitro to the car. Eric shifted his hand and threw a brick at him. It hit him in the head. "MOTHERFU-" He looked at Ecto's direction, but he was already inside the street lamp. Sucker. Aaaaaand there goes the filament.

The light went POP, and the alley went dark.
"Who the fuck is there, huh?!" Said the guy with the horse face. His voice was just as stupid. Eric didn't bother with stealth, as there wasn't enough light for them to see him, and flung himself to the other end of the alley towards the trash bin. What he heard during his dash sounded dangerously like a gun cocked. Shit, hope Graffiti is ready to handle bullets. The moved the trash container in place quite loudly, and guns were fired in his direction. Good, focus here, douches. Bullets can't do shit to me. He looked up to the roof. Now would be a good time. - he thought as he jumped towards the closest car-jacker.

----------

So much for the paranormal activity approach....

The sound of the swearing became loud and unintelligible as they started to shout over each other paranoid bursts. Mitch was the ugliest, a horse face and almost no teeth because of his Crystal Meth habit. The back of his head was bleeding because of the brick and he clutched it in pain as he pulled out his Glock 18 and pointed it in the direction of the noise of a trash can clattering.

Mitch:
Jackie, Johnny boy, I think some asshole is trying to jack our new ride....didnt you say that Wall Walker's goons were seen lately?

Johnny:
Fuck, Mitch you dumbass Walker only hits banks, this car ain't even worth 15 grand yet...Its probably a super-freak, I heard that bitch Wraithlikes to fuck with people in the dark...bet its her, fuckin light her up!!!

Mitch and Jackie both pointed their guns at the trash cans BLAM, BLAM!!, taking shots at the trash cans, the shots rattled along the alley way and nearby stray dogs started howling in the streets. The bullets bounced off the wall, dangerously close to where Ecto was taking cover. Graffiti sprang into action.

Holy shit, Ecto keep your head down!!

Graffiti raised her paintball gun and took aim. It was an awkward angle but she started letting off shots POP POP POPPP!....snakkk
The third shot managed to catch Jackie in the wrist the super glue paintball glued his hand to the gun but his finger couldn't move the trigger.... Graffiti dead dropped down to the alleyway, with her hoodie and bandanna glowing in the night sky. She grabbed her blue spray paint, the strong mace/nerve gas, and let loose a burst of it in Jackies face.

Jackie:
AHhhhhhhhh...fuuuuckkk, its burrrningggggg, Grafffitiii you fuckinggggg tramp!!! I kneee youd be involllved aghhhh URK!

Graffiti thrust her airburst assisted knee into Jackie's gut to halt his screaming, he hit the floor grunting in agony as Mitch and Johnny turned around to see the glowing vigilante aiming her paintball gun at both of them. Mitch stopped firing at the trash cans to point his gun at her. Johnny smirked at her as he reached for his pistol. Graffiti smirked back.

Car problems? Look like you two could use a tune up.

----------

Ecto was enjoying the show until the asshole who shot at him turned around to Graffiti. Bullets were harmless to Ecto as they flew right through him, but he wasn't sure about her partner.

Oh no you don't! He darted towards the guy with the gun and jumped right into him. Ecto could feel him pulling the trigger, and pulled his hand down in the last second, aiming at the other dude's leg.

BLAM - then screaming. The other guy fell, dropping the gun in the process. I bet that hurts really, really bad.
Horseface realizes that he was no longer in control, and started struggling against Ecto.
"What the fuck is this? Nerve gas?! YOU BITCH! HRRNGHH-"

Thankfully, he wasn't as strong as he seemed, all Ecto had to do is keep him in check while Graffiti took care of the others. Piece o' cake. He laughed.

"You were right, teaming up is the best thing ever!"

----------

POP POPP!

Graffiti smiled as she shot her paintball gun at the crumpled jackie who was now super-glued to the floor, still whimpering in pain. She was slightly nervous about the guns until Ecto jumped into action and used Mitch's gun to shoot Johnny in the leg. Johnny screamed like a snared fox as he dropped in a helpless stance while Graffiti approached mitch who was being restrained. She walked over casually.

I heard you actually were a good street brawler, Mitch but I guess you're in no position to show me now, In fact, you look like you've seen a ghost....

Graffiti didn't give Mitch time to respond as she used her powers to decrease all the air resistance around her fists, making her punches fly lightning fast. She didn't have any proper technique, but with her blistering speed she didn't need to, her gloved fists thudded against Mitch's chest as Ecto held him in place to get pummeled.

At the last punch was thrown, the downed Johnny grabbed his pistol from the floor and turned it towards Graffiti's back!

Johnny:
Say Goodnight, you bitch!

Johnny finger just began to press against the trigger, but then the nitrous tank in the car began to rumble , being stirred up by an intense internal air pressure of Graffiti's doing, and in a second it was launched like rocket out of the hood of the car and slammed into Johnny's head, knocking him out instantly.

Goodnight Johnny...you bitch.....Hey Ecto drop Mitch for a second.

Graffiti pulled the pummleled thug out of Ecto's hands and let him slump to his knees. Graffiti used a bit of an airburst as a wind up and unleashed a roaring roundhouse kick to his temple, thus knocking out the final of the trio. The night was won!

Nice work Ecto!! we really do work together well! Maybe after we take down umbra we can be a crime-fighting Duo in the comic books.....or if you just wanted to hang out sometime....I think that would be cool too...

Graffiti's sentence was cut short by the sounds of police sirens, the cops were approaching, probably alerted by the noise and the gunfire, they would come and apprehend the trio but Graffiti wasn't about to stick around to join them. She gave Ecto a quick salute and took off like a rocket with her propellent gas into the the sky on the way back to her apartment.

----------

Ecto stared after her blankly. She worked fast, and worked with style. Also, she hit like a truck. Eric knew, because when he is possessing someone, he can feel the person's pain. Which is not very advantageous, but since he healed much faster than others, it was... kinda worth taking a hit in certain situations.

But the weird part was that he didn't have time to "Mitch" (Horseface suited him better), Graffiti straight up pulled him out, which never happened before. Hopefully she didn't realize that Ecto was especially susceptible to her air powers and that she had a strange effect on him. I'm glad we are getting along so well. Yeah, we should get pizza sometime. - and he took off as well to avoid any company.

When he finally reached his room, he was dead tired. He glanced at the direction of his digital clock next to his bed, which read 3:30 AM. Oh God, I'm gonna sleep through half the day... Whatever, it was totally worth it. He gave out a yawn as he turned back to Eric Engelson, and didn't even bother putting pajamas on. He just fell into bed butt naked, pulling the sheets over his head.

Isabel was driving to home when the message arrived. “Good timing, right after I left work” she commented to herself before doing a sudden u-turn. She stopped a few blocks away from the meeting place and prepared herself by transforming. Quickly skipping across the roofs she arrived at the meeting place. A lot of people were already at the place. “Tank, Reaper, Electro Edge, Turn Back. Eh, it will have to do” she thought before pouncing close to them.

“So, here we are huh?” She said to her partners “Is anyone missing or are we ready? I take Scarlet won’t be standing still forever” she looked around the ruined house and all of the problems and possibilities.

“Okay, look, I think we could do the following, just a suggestion, please don’t throw a tantrum or anything.” She glanced quickly at Levi before looking back to the group “Reaper goes first while hiding, Me, TB and Shockdude take positions around the house. Finally Tank goes in and scares the witch out, wherever she runs to there will be someone to catch her… Ah wait” she took her phone out again “Oh yeah, do not aggravate, crap, we can’t just attack like this. Uh, any of you is good at Diplo? I am not, and no offense, but Shock and Tank are not good choices either... “

She sighed and threw her arms up, this Team thing was really freaking hard.

Eric was reading up on the protest at Vale Street online. He missed seeing it on TV, as he slept through the live commentary, completely exhausted from the day before. He was thinking about finally being able to move out from his parents' house, and the new apartment block sounded perfect. Until KaRe decided to handle things, at least. But surprisingly enough, the head of the company herself showed up to take matters into her own hands. And it seemed like things would smoothen out after all.

There were also some articles about another disappearance: Hummingbird. Umbra was keeping busy of course, this is why Ditch decided to step in and form the team. Which is now... two teams? Whatever.
Aaand of course who could leave out our dearest, lovable Captain Powerhouse, that self-righteous, self-important, self-serving douchebag.
"Damien, you asshole..."

He was thinking about catching up with the other supers, maybe go training, or go through some plans, or just... grab some food and watch a movie. But unfortunately he had no idea how to get into contact with them. Should have asked for some phone numbers, or like a facebook contact name.

As he was meditating on this, he received a message from Ditch. Blocked number, of course...Great. It was time to move.

He went out in casual clothing, as it was still bright daylight and didn't want to bring attention to a blue man flying around. He took a bus, and got off a few blocks near Mermary Lane. Right, I need to find an abandoned alley, there should be one around here, right?

It took him a few minutes to find a narrow street with seemingly no-one around. There was a big pile of trash hoarded to the side of it as well. Why don't we have phone booths anymore...? He scratched his head, then closed his eyes. He felt his clothes slip from him and fall to the ground woth a soft thud as he shifted to this super form. He didn't plan on just leaving here in the middle of the street of course, not like... a few months back. He was prepared. An empty trash bag lay waiting in the back pocked of his jeans, which he took out and proceeded to tuck the clothes inside. Right, blends right into the background. Inconspicuous. Let's just hope I'll find it when I get back... I really need a better method than this.

As he approached the meeting place, he could already see some of the others were already there: Raven Tale, Black Rose, Omega, and of course, Ditch, without the mask, for some reason. He went up to them, materialized his left hand, and gave Omega a friendly tap on the shoulder.

"Hey everyone, what's up? Everything cool?"

One by one they arrived in their own fashion, from near threats to pouncing down to … walking there. Reaper raised a slight eyebrow underneath her hood at Turn Back, but otherwise didn’t acknowledge it. He probably hid his transport already. Instead the vigilante turned to sweep her gaze over the assembled group, listening in silence as Gorgon was the first to start considering their plan of action. Soon however her blackened eyes once more focused on the dilapidated house.

“She might be more willing to talk than you think,” Reaper finally commented, raising a gloved hand to point towards the house. “Look. There is no movement. I can’t hear anything either. You would think the house would creak. But I can sense someone in there – she’s hiding.” A pause then, and a small shrug of her shoulders.

“Either that or there’s a hidden base.” Reaper stepped slightly to the side, closer to Tank’s shadow. Instantly it began to wisp up and around their legs, curling before disappearing into the air. “There’s really any number of possibilities. Planning for them all will take time we do not have. I suggest the diplomatic approach at first as well – which is why I’m going to go in.” With her words out Reaper abruptly dropped into Tank’s shadow. It was best she got there before Sparky anyway.

Taking the unconventional method of reappearing directly into the house’s kitchen was child’s play. Everything inside was dark after all, all it took was finding a window while talking to the others to have her entry point. Her hands appeared first, grabbing onto the wall as she pulled herself out and landed on her feet on the rotting wood. Just like she suspected the very foundation of the house seemed to groan with the motion. The place looked like no one had touched it in a few decades. Disgusting.

”I’m buying this place just to tear it down after this,” Reaper couldn’t help but think bitterly as she kicked some of the trash away. The place looked like a rat’s nest, as though it would collapse on her head any second. Really it was a good thing she could escape darkened places. A quick glance around, including nudging open a few places fearlessly – one of the closet doors in the hallway fell off – yielded nothing interesting other than some dirt on her outfit. Jasper would have to clean it when she got home.

There was only one other place to look, provided the hidden base idea wasn’t in play. Reaper quickly found the steps to the second floor and couldn’t help but crinkle her nose underneath the balaclava. The stairwell looked like she’d get asthma just from walking up it. Letting out a long suffering sigh Reaper shook her head and started up the rotting steps, skipping over the missing ones – though even those still there creaked forebodingly. Exploring the second floor wouldn’t take long at all either – it all just seemed empty.

“I wonder if Scarlet Shifter is really just Scarlet Cockroach right now, laughing at my misfortune. Joke’s on her, I don’t live in this dump.” Reaper couldn't help but grump as she started glancing around the second floor with the same caution. It just appeared... empty.

Girard had a gnawing feeling something was up and it wasn't a good feeling to have considering where they were. He remembered that Scarlet had been injured last that was seen or heard of her, could have made her easier to track for whoever did it, it got him thinking they might've been later than they could have been. Given the silence and the state of the place he didn't see it being more than a temporary hideout but one that would make intruders think twice about entering for fear of injury or possibly sickness from the conditions inside but it was the quiet that had him wondering. Was there something wrong with the rogue if she was still there? It was entirely possible she could have gotten out before them or she might not have had a choice. The big man took a quick breath to steady his mind, they would cross that bridge if they came to it but expecting the worse or at least acknowledging it was all part of preparation. The timing on him calming his mind couldn't have come at a better time when he heard a familiar voice from not far away.

"Has anyone else come?"

Tank turned his head to face Reaper not knowing exactly how she knew there was someone but he might ask later though it was the question following that produced a smile on his face. He would have responded but Sparky showed up in quick succession making a mildly hostile entrance but it didn't last long, they were still missing a couple others but it wouldn't be long he figured. It took a minute or two but sure enough Turn Back made his appearance posing the same question as him and Reaper, because really how in the hell was he expected to get into that wreck without making it worse? Just as the thought entered his mind Gorgon Eyes showed up to complete the group and make a few suggestions some of which the big man was a little opposed too, and he would remember the diplomacy comment later.

"She might still be hurt and since she is being hunted while alone, I think we can get some reason across so it doesn't get bad hopefully. Also I'll keep watch from out here so there is still a building left to search. Better start heading in the rest of you and holler if you need me." Girard said putting in his two cents, and mild humor, before Reaper disappeared using his shadow to enter the building.

That was probably the easiest start to moving around she's had today. He thought wondering if Reaper was going to make a habit of using his shadow like that.

The big man would patrol a little around the mess of a house once the rest of the group went in and hoped for the best, that they could talk Scarlet down before shit got stirred up.

Wraith

An orphanage? Really? Wraith hoped that there was a good reason for this, and it wasn't just some kind of sick joke. Complaining wouldn't help her standing with the group at all, and she got the feeling that Ditch already didn't like her very much. Not that that was Wraith's problem. Ditch, and the rest of the group, would just have to sort out their creative differences. She'd find a way to work around them for now, although she probably wouldn't get away with any of her more direct methods. With that in mind, she checked her pockets and smiled when her hand closed around a small glass vial. I can do less direct.

She switched off her phone. It didn't seem likely that she'd get any more messages concerning the case, meaning that the only person likely to message her would be her dad shouting at her for being out of the house. Nothing of any use. Speaking of useless, her sense of direction had fallen apart. She knew she was late by now, but there was no rush. The upside of not being trusted by her teammates was that they wouldn't start without her, seeing as they probably wanted to keep track of her actions. She had to be close by now though. Really, with the amount of time she'd spent walking around she should have found it by now just through random chance. Ahh, well, she'd give it another ten minutes. Not like she was going to ask anyone for directions. She didn't want to deal with witnesses, and she couldn't just eliminate innocent people for seeing her face.

Sure enough, she soon found the orphanage, managing to avoid running into anyone that asked questions. She'd not even been distracted by her job, which was surprising. Perhaps the criminals just weren't coming out today. It seemed possible that they were ignoring her, which was annoying. Incredibly annoying, much like most of the people she had to work with. No use in procrastinating any longer, so she headed to their meeting place.

Sure enough, it seemed like most of them were here. She wasn't as late as she thought though, getting in right after Ecto. Good thing too. She'd have hated to miss a chance to face off against another super. Especially one with powers so similar to her own, it seemed interesting. Even if she didn't get a proper fight out of it, she loved a good chase. It was always more fun when they ran away.

She walked towards the group with a smile. Time for her to at least try to act friendly. She knew Ditch was suspicious of her, to say the least, but she didn't know how many of the other vigilantes had figured her out. No harm in trying to maintain a good impression for as long as possible. "Hey there!" she said cheerfully, fixing her mask onto her face. "Am I late? Sorry if I am! I'm sure you all missed me just as much as I missed you." Sure, that really meant not at all, but who were they to know that. She followed this up with a cheerful smile, as though she was just too shallow and stupid to grasp the seriousness of their task.

Ugh. Wraith hated this airheaded persona, but it normally seemed to work to hide her motivations. No reason to trouble the average citizen or weak-willed vigilante with her need to eliminate the lawbreakers, and who would suspect it of someone that appeared so shallow? At least her acting skills were helping out with something, as long as no-one picked up on it. She was trying to avoid eye contact with Ditch especially. A few words from the hacker could quite easily ruin the charade. Still, Wraith planned to keep her word. No unnecessary accidents.

Such a shame that all the 'accidents' she'd caused were very much necessary.

When it came to the 'superhero community' Valencia always saw herself as an outsider. Sure there were other vigilantes in millennium city and some of them had supernatural powers but the comparisons ended there. She couldn't give a shit about captain Powerhouse or his general lack of popularity among the street level vigilantes, this was all super-hero nonsense politics anyway. Graffiti was just a name to go with the gadgets, but Valencia just saw herself as and Ex-cop in a mask, doing real police work without any red tape or regulations, more duty than destiny.

She switched the TV off halfway through the report about Zoey Kasmir, she hated semi-celeb news, and it was time to get back to duty. Ditch's text said to gather at the creepy orphanage a few blocks from where Valencia's apartment was, so she threw on her hoodie and started tying her bandanna round her face while deciding what spray cans to take with her.

Ecto proved himself a capable ally, but I'm still not sure about Omega and RavenTale, I know I'm not easy to work with and will that harm our chances against wall-walker? Gotta rely on myself, too many risky factors.

Graffiti grimaced as she placed a can of Black spray paint in her rucksack and mentally hoped she wouldn't have to use it.

She jumped out of her apartment window and flew straight for the destination, visualizing defeating Wall Walker in dominant fashion.

___________________________________________________________________________________________________________

(10 mins of flying later)

Graffiti landed right next to the group, they were all there, staring at the building. She nodded at Ditch as she grabbed her paintball gun and cocked it ready. She gave Ecto a quick wink before turning to Omega. Is gravity effective against wallwalker? I assume that youve been doing this longer than I have and maybe you've had to tangle with solid object phasers before?

Graffiti watched RavenTale carefully a couple of seconds, she wasn't sure why, but she always wanted to keep the summoner in her field of view. She noticed Black Rose there too who seemed to be fiddling with some gadget in her hand as she finished explaining it. Graffiti always found gadgets interesting as she felt that they were under used in vigilante work, but she felt the need to question Black Rose about herself.

Black Rose, you dont actually have any powers do you? No offense but I dont consider 'fast learning' a super ability, I was a fast learner at chemistry in high school but I didn't name myself after a rare flower because of it. Why not stick to gadgets full time and be like Batman or something?
