Kate Porter & Liam Kelling | Close to Deon Ericksons (Not so secret) secret HQ

The Cab had dropped the Vampire pair near the entrance to his complex. Quite a luxurious building in nature, but what it held would be a truly destructive in nature. They had a plan for slowing down Deon's plans while they amassed their own Army. There were only two guards guarding the power boxes behind the building. A quick blow from Kate's Katana took out the first, Liam's combat knife neutralizing the second.

"Hack into the cameras, i want to know if i guys in here so i can be a bit more careful." Liam whispered as he dragged the deceased bodies of the guards and hid them out of sight and hopefully out of mind. He wiped his knife off on his leather jacket, Deon would have easily tracked him with that scent lingering on him. He entered the building and stood by the reception desk.

"Darkness in three. two. one. You are green to go." Kate said into the earpiece Liam had forced her to wear so that she could contact him if there was trouble. The entire building stood silent in darkness, it was as though an EMP had hit the entire building. the cameras would be down and the computers would also be down. Liam slipped back into the shadows Time to find out where hes keeping his army and his prisoners. He thought to himself.

Mithias listened to Kathryn very carefully, paying attention to the details of weapon locations, camera locations, but also to her expressions and voice. The only way he could tell if he was being lied to was by consciously reading people. She could have been a decoy, a ploy, a game, sent by Deon to distract him, to lead him into consequence, which might include torture or execution, but she didn't come off to be acting a part.

Admittedly, Mithias was tired, but the girl seemed innocent. Her anxiety and emotion were sincere. He watched the way her thick brown hair moved when she talked as he considered the options. She wasn't stunningly beautiful, but had an aire of strength and bravery about her that shone from within. She looked like one of those girls who would have been a best friend in childhood, who was always escaping her parents and going off to do some game with the boys, and who always knew where there were good apples to steal. He believed she wanted to help, but her impetuous nature was far too human. It couldn't have been too long for her since her turning. Her mortal family was probably still alive...

"An immortal life is a terrible thing to waste." Began the bound vampire. Mithias exhaled a long breath and blinked at her from under his fuzzy brows. "Even more terrible for one such as you, to die so young." His eyes showed honest concern. Truthfully, Mithias didn't like to be rushed, as it caused too much risk. More than half the reason he had survived the Nightwars, and the centuries prior, was because of his caution. He didn't have the powers of the oldbloods he was facing, therefore, planning was critical, and allies key. Of course, as of yet he didn't know if this girl had any knowledge of the past at all. She might not even have known who he was.

Regardless, he would attempt to reason with her. "It is a mortal's folly to rush headlong into battle, accepting an inevitable death only earlier than it would otherwise have come. But a vampire is not meant to die, not ever. So much more is lost with their destruction." Not to say a human life was worthless, they just didn't have the kind of time a vampire had. "Deon Erickson hasn't killed me yet, so I believe he won't unless he has reason to. Let us be patient. Calm yourself. A better opportunity for escape will come, and you will thank me for talking you down tonight." The blood had helped clear his thoughts somewhat.

Nonetheless, the girl still seemed anxious, apparently debating on dragging him out, bloody stumps and all. "Let it pass." Mithias encouraged. "If anything were to happen, anything... Neither I nor you would fair well at all. It is not worth the risk!" Settling, Mithias gave a show of calmness. "I am no less eager than you to remove myself from Deon's mercy, but now is not the time. Since we have a few moments, why not sit, and talk with me? ... Who are you, and why would you help Mithias Varomere?"

Liam continued further into the complex before coming across a security room with a guard locked inside due to key card swiper being knocked offline because of the electrical outage caused by the pair. The Guard not being able to see Liam, did him a favour. He was still pulling on the door handle when Liam kicked the door off its hinges and into the guard knocking him unconscious. He entered the room and grabbed one of the shotguns of the weapon rack, then proceeded to bend one the steel chairs legs around the unconscious mans arms to keep him trapped.

"Ok, Kate where is he keeping his prisoners. Some of them may be willing to help?" he said into the earpiece he was wearing.

"Basement doors should be unlocked. A maid went in before we put the lights out."

Cupid was impressed. Deon had been hard at work scheming and plotting to put the mortals back in their place, and he'd done so quite effectively. But bring Father back? Now that was a concept. He'd played around with the idea before, of course, but he'd never given it any serious thought. It seems, however, that Deon had. Cupid knew that if he didn't help the vampire standing before him, he would find someone that would. That's not such a good position to be in, assuming that Father would return. On the flip side, having directly aided Father's resurrection could only serve Cupid well in the long run. He smiled. "I have no need for money, that I have plenty of, I assure you. But connections? Transportation? Cupid has friends everywhere. I would be pleased to provide you my assistance. I assume you have a plan, however? And if it isn't too much to expect, I would also assume that I may be privy to this plan?"

"...Who the heck are you?"

That... was a surprisingly good question. This guy sounded like he was a poacher expecting an elephant that got a rabbit instead. In Mattias' experience, people saying out loud that they were looking for you only meant bad things. "A good question, my friend," He began, glancing at Allison, before turning to the newcomer. "Who the hell are you? Now I advise you talk fast because we're kind of in a rush here." Mattias tensed up ever so slightly, ready for any moves this stranger may make against him or his compatriot.

Hello Lucan. I have a question for you.

Do you want to save Mithias?

Vladimir sighed at the two. He had no idea where the rest were, but these two definitly seemed the type to work on their own. Which meant the human is that mercenary. His visible eye locked onto the two in front of him. "I am Vladimir and I was transferred to this team by soldier....and I'm guessing the rest of the team is....either unable to help or somewhere else" He crossed arms and tilted his head.

This movement caused for the silver in his ear to flint and the sleeves on his grey shirt to tighten. "Now shall we go or shall we discuss more whom I am and not the one you are targeting?" His visible eye along with a slight eyebrow arch communicates his own impatience in standing here.

The downfalls of doing your own personal investigation was lacking resources to secure your line. Yes the web was a wealth of information, but to search it was wading in a public pool, stark naked. Well not naked per say, but in a metaphorical sense, certainly bare compared to the layers of security others had. Lucan had forgone establishing such a secure link to remain offline from SOLIDER. But to do was to invite these intruders to encroach upon him. Taking control and sending a message was one thing, but with this offer?

Who was this James? A solider agent? Who was it that also sought out his Mithias? A threat to him? Threats would be eliminated, killed. Gutted in visceral spray of blood. They would find Lucan's hands wrung around their neck, his fingers clawing into the spaces between their ribs. He would tear them apart, and pull their intestines through their throat if he had to, wrap it around their necks and strangle them with their own viscera. The depths of dedication and devotion after all demanded he destroy all those who would dare oppose the master. So with the blinking of the cursor upon the blank page of the program executed: Lucan typed back.

Hello Lucan. I have a question for you.

Do you want to save Mithias?

If so, maybe we can help each other.

-James

Who are you James?

All the while Lucan began to run his toolkit. Running off the external flashdrive own simple programming various executables to lock into James' location via tracing an IP packet and searching the source. And if it was from SOLIDER, well he would have to find him and kill him for access to Mithias' files. The blood had dried on his collar and shirt now, but the memories of the man's death was still just as fresh. How good did it feel to kill for Mithias.

Deon Erickson

Cupid wanted in on Deon's plan, and with reason. This whole thing was a gamble, Deon would want the same thing. But until things were more finalized the less people that knew the full plan the better. But he would be more then willing to share how Cupid plays into this. "Cupid, I need to say right off the bat that if it seems I am keeping things from you, it is because I am. Sadly this is a very delicate situation. I will inform you what I can, but until more dominoes fall, there is only so much information I can share with each key player." Deon started working his way to the exit, though speaking to Cupid as he walked. "I will starts with basics though, mortals have three major advantages over us. One being their numbers, two being their bullets, and three being their will to survive at all cost, their innovation sort of speak. Which sadly we vampires lack because we more or less live forever." Deon looked at his watch, he needed to make sure everything went according to plan.

Deon would continue part of his plan as he walked along. "To put mortals in their place we need to remove at least two of these advantages. Removing their.... creativity will be more effort then it is worth. SO we have to remove bullets and population from the mix. Even out the ratio more. I was hoping for a five to one ratio. Maybe up to a ten to one, that could be manageable depending on our remaining forces after the conflict. But to reduce the mortal population, especially to that ratio we need to remove a key fixture that defines humans in these modern days. Bullets. We need to rid the humans of what ammunition they may have stored away for use, for each other, for anything. Once that is out of the way they will be no match for what ever remains." Before Deon made it back to the elevator he stopped at another container, this one was wooden. "I have set up a plan, so that we won't need to worry about their bullets for much longer. The longest it should take is maybe two years. Then we can cut through the entire planet, with Father leading the way." He paused, and looked down on the crate, it was about three feet in thickness, width, and height. Though any vampire could smell that there was a strong yet strange smell inside of it. It smelled like death, it smelled worse then death, it smelled like... pure evil. "Before, when Father was weak, he was taking down by a mortal. Van Helsing. But Father was weak then, at that time his presence was known so feeding was... difficult. Times were different then. Now?" He smiled and looked at Cupid. "We're going to bring Father back here to the city, then we're going start thinning the humans, and their supply of ammunition. Once they are spread thin, we will awaken Father."

The power soon cut out. Deon was expecting something like this eventually, but this building was meant to run off separate from mortal utilities for years to come. Though all the systems were new, never used. It would take time, only a few minutes to turn the lights and other utilities back on. "The city power in this area is relatively stable, and if it was something outside of just this building the back up generators would have kicked on sooner. We have guests." Deon grabbed his hand cannon from under his coat. "Feel free to join me, but I understand if you don't want to. As long as you help with getting Father's remains back to the mainland, I don't care what else you decide to do." And Deon worked his way down to Mithias's cell. The building was still in a testing phase, there was nothing worth breaking in for other then Mithias and the chemical weapon, which only him and the once scientist he had working on it knew about. So he worked his way downstairs. He only needed to buy enough time for the response team to get into place. Anyone that tried to leave the building other then Cupid and Deon would be executed on sight. His staff were all handpicked, some because of skills, others because of connections, but Deon was focused on Quality for this state, not quantity.

Kathryn Miller

Kathryn could tell Mithias was trying to convince her to not try and break him out, but what else could she do? How long could she stay in hiding? Her father could recover sooner or later. And with that, what will Deon do once he realizes that he turned Kathryn due to what her father had done all those years ago. But not only had this man been trying to get her to stop risking her life, he wanted to make small talk? So she gave in, as far as anyone knew she was already leaving the building anyways. "I'm Kathryn, but most people call me Kat. As for why I am trying to save your ass, Deon Erickson is a total dick-wad who needs to learn to control his emotions and take punishment." She sat in the chair across from him, he seemed a lot more passive them most people made him out to be. Propaganda both positive and negative did tend to do that though. "Though, I have more selfish reasons for wanting to bust you out. Thirteen years ago, I was turned. And I was left to starve... sort of speak... I was left in my own home with my mom, and my younger brother. I... I didn't have any control of myself. I was kept locked up for a couple days after I was turned... then dumped on my front doorstep... Less then a couple hours later my dad returned home from what was supposed to be his last tour in the Marines." She tried to keep calm, she wanted to stop now, but once she was going she couldn't stop. "He returned... just in time to see what I had done... He still hasn't forgiven me... I wouldn't either if in his shoes... I don't and I am in my own shoes. He's a hunter now, and he's caught up to me a few times. Each time he's.... more aggressive then the last, more excepting that I am more a monster then a living person... which I guess in all technicality is true... but the way he views it... it's... scary." She hesitated, but soon spoke. "I had a chance to end it all... He collapsed last time we met, I don't know if it was old age or what but his heart tried to quit on him. But instead of killing him, or letting him die, I carried him to the hospital." She looked back at the airlock, then back to Mithias. "That's why I needed to break you out, I was hoping you could try and show him I am not a monster... not... anymore that is." She was done at this point, she had nothing else to say on the matter.

Then the power quit, which should have been fine, but the high pressure room was now sealed and without the systems that regulated the room the pressure soon began to increase. In the dark she wondered what kind of system would increase pressure without power. But that thought soon left as the pressure in the room was still increasing with out power. "Oh shit..." was all she was able to say while the pressure increase, with in minutes it would be at levels that would even kill a vampire.

Hank Miller
(Here to fuck shit up)

Even though Hank was limited on mobility after his heart attack, he was more then able to keep kicking ass. Deon was near impossible for someone like Hank to track with out resources. Kathryn though? She was easy. He could pull her face up from any crowd in the city. Once he found the recruiter, he was able to make the connection to Deon, then soon this building. Part of him was just tempted to level the building, but once he was able to get an idea for how the structure was built, it would take more explosives then a small army could carry, let alone what he could cram into his RV, maybe a semi truck packed with fuel, but even that would be debatable. So he decided to go in and finish things once and for all with Deon.

From his look out position he was able to see the lights go out, but he wasn't the only one. He saw a death squad of four soldiers he was guessing. Looking through the thermal scope of his rifle he could see that they all had very low body temperatures. Vampires, he almost said it out loud but doing so would give away his position. People talking was one thing, but people mentioning vampires when a vampire death squad was present caused issues. Hank wished he knew what bloodlines these guys were from. Deon sure wouldn't be stupid enough to make them all from the same bloodline. That didn't matter, he had a solution that should solve this. As long as his aim was still as good as it was a few years back.

Hank locked the scope of his rifle on the first death squad member, he was isolated, likely the unit sharpshooter. The others may hear the suppressed shot, but may make nothing of it until they notice their squad members missing. He fired the first shot into the vampire's head, the hollow point bullet from the high powered rifle removing a large portion of the creature's head. He soon fell to the ground with a thud. Another squad member looked over at the thud, then Hank loaded the next cartridge into his gun. The vampire that was going to inspect his squad member didn't even finish inspecting the body before he realized what was going on. Had he heard Hank working the bolt on the gun? Maybe the shell hitting the floor of the building he was hiding out in? It didn't matter, before he could speak the second shot went clean though his head too. Though by this point the other two were catching onto what he was doing. Hank was still too weak to fight them head on, he had to take care of them while he still had a line of sight on them. One tried to lay down suppression fire, but with the weapons they were using hew as too far out. When other one tried to advance he also received a high powered hollow point through the skull. He survived but he was down for the count. Hank trained his sights on the other one, but he was already gone.

Hank heard the footsteps behind him, but he wasn't able to react fast enough before the rifle was shot out of his hands. He sat back in fear as the vampire started walking up to him with their sidearm raised. "You stupid fuck, do you realize what you just di-" He was cut off with a bear trap caught his leg, then he was raised in the air by a steal beam counter weight. Hank stood up with struggle. The vampire had dropped his gun, Hank just kicked it tot he side as he walked up to his prisoner. "This is going to go one of two ways. One, you talk and I kill you painlessly... as possible" Referring to the bear trap suspending him in the air. "Or two, I will remove bits and pieces of you until you talk. Starting with your fingers, then I will move on to your family jewels." The vampire refused at first, but after several fingers Hank got cooperation.

Hank walked up to the vampire that who's face had just about finished repairing itself. Before he could stand he was sent down with Hanks Machete cutting into his back. "I am sorry our paths crossed like this, but we are both monsters in need to be removed from this planet. It just happens to be unfortunate for you that I am here to preserve, while you are here to destroy. Sadly, our paths crossed, and I was the stronger force. You can rest now." By the time the vampire had realized what was going on Hank had already started decapitating him. Normally it would take one, at most two good swings to finish the job, this time it took four. He was getting weak, his blade was getting dull, he was running out of time. after catching his breath he stood up, then put away his machete and drew his .357 with the chemical digestion rounds still loaded. He had two left, and oen was going right through Deon's head.

Liam made his way down to the basement, strangely he encountered few guards the closer he got. This is definitely a traphe thought to himself as he made it down to the final set of stairs before reaching the airtight room. The first door was open but the second looked closed. He attempted to open it but it wouldnt budge. it was locked because of the powers. He noticed the maid and the man stuck in the room. He started pounding on the glass. "Hey. Hey. Move back im gonna try to get the door open." He yelled as he began to kick the door. Again it wouldnt budge a bit. "Kate i need you to turn the power on. Is that something you can do" He said turning away and talking into his ear piece.

"Yes, But you'll have guards coming out your arse if i do. you sure you wanna do this"she began to type in the command to turn the power back on. "Definitely" he said.

Hmmm, recently transfered to our team? Either someone has screwed up and didn't tell us or he never was transfered in the first place... Allison thought after she listened to Vladimirs explanation.
"Now shall we go or shall we discuss more whom I am and not the one you are targeting?" he then replied, visibly impatient.
"Well you do have a point, time is runing short and we can't let the target escape, but let me tell you one thing. If you try anything funny I will paint the wall with your blood capiche? You haven't earned my trust yet." Allison then moved over to Mattias and said quietly "For now let's have him around until we have confirmation from HQ whether he's a friendly or not. We could use some help anyway. Just keep an eye on him until then." Now that this matter has been temporarily solved they really should get moving. Allison made a few steps, looking down the alley before she looked back at Mattias and said "Alright, do you mind taking the lead? I guess that you are better at taking up our targets trail with your senses than I am."

Mithias sat motionless in his chair bearing a gentle expression as Kathryn told her tale. He shook his head and sighed, furrowing his brow as he envisioned himself reliving the pain of her memories. "You and your family have suffered a grave injustice, one that can never be made right. 13 years..." He was right, she was young, "The Blood Compact was in full affect. The vampire that did this to you should have been hunted and executed. What he did was clearly with malicious intent." He looked at her, still piecing together the pertinent details as they affected the present time. "...Unless your father didn't report it. I could see that, perhaps the reason why he would not have would be because he feared for your safety. No father ever stops caring for his child." Mithias didn't exactly fully believe this, given his own past, but it seemed like the right thing to say in Kathryn's case. The details of his own life could be examined more academically in a later discussion, should such an opportunity come to pass. He focused back on her. Kathryn's eyes looked so full of hope and pain. Her expression desperately called for Mithias' help, and he couldn't refuse it. Yet, fulfilling her request would be far more complicated than she realized. He reluctantly replied with the truth as he knew it. "You will learn quickly that mortals die, Kathryn. I other words, you do not have much time to make amends with your father. But... Unfortunately, I will not be able to show him that you are not a monster. We are all monsters. Even I am a monster, yet we are also still people. For the most part, vampires all have nearly complete control over their actions. You can chose who you want to be, Kathryn, just as you always have. What I can do is help you show your father that you are still a person and that you still love him."

Something triggered in the room as the lights shut off. The darkness was nearly perfect, yet both Kathryn and Mithias were still able to see. Some kind of gas started filling the room, and it was going to be a problem. "What's happening?" Mithias asked more to himself than anyone else. Realizing he needed to escape, he pulled against his arm restraints. He was locked in good. Short of taking his limbs off, he wasn't going anywhere. "I can't get out Kathryn." He stated like a fact as he struggled. "This must be some kind of failsafe designed to kill a vampire prisoner. Something activated it. Maybe Deon decided to finish me. I'm sorry you got caught in this." Truly, Mithias didn't look forward to oblivion, but hope was quickly running out.

A pounding sounded on the inner door. Another blonde vampire with dark eyes was there trying to get in. "Hey. Hey. Move back I'm gonna try to get the door open." He yelled as he began to kick the door. He yelled again to someone else named Kate.

Outside, Hank had taken care of the guards. This breakout might just actually succeed.

Kathryn Miller

The air was getting harsh now, though with help from the outside tings were starting to look up. Kathryn could survive, Mithias may still be able to help with her father still (Despite the fact he says otherwise), and there would be little need to worry about casualties! Except as the pressure increase and the door was getting beat on the metallic moaning could be heard through the building as the door was struggling to hold the pressure back with out the magnetic lock. But before long the light soon flickered back to life on a low light level, and the pressure started to return to normal. What didn't return to normal was the condition of the door. With all the pressure it tried to handle at such a rapid rate only to be relieved so fast it was on the verge of breaking down on its own. In basics, things were looking better. For now...

Deon Erickson

The elevator was out and by the time it was back online he could already be most the way down by foot. Deon went tot he stairwell with his 500 gram hand cannon in hand, and his remade Calvary sword at his hip. He had too much to deal with, and too many People getting in the way. Once at the stairwell he climbed the railing, soon dropping himself down the dozens and dozens of stairwells, only stopping once he reached ground level, then soon working to the restricted stairwell, which led to the lower basements.

The lights came on as he entered the prison hall. His on duty guard was dead, but he was just a grunt. but his gun was missing. No matter, Deon's dealt with situations like this before. As he walked his way forward he saw the first of intruders, one that he struggled to remember at first, but son recognized as one of his own. "Kate fucking Porter! Took me longer then I would have liked to remember my own child, but sadly you were turned with like, fifteen others. It's hard to keep track of all of you. Was forced to only keep tabs of my favorite ones." He smiled, the hand cannon was at his side, not raised but he could easily fire off a shot in the slightest of reflexes. Almost like snapping a finger. He had control, or so he thought. As things started to clear int he air he smelled yet another vampire. Though he didn't recognize who ever it was. But it wasn't important right now. "Who do you have with you now Katy? A new partner to replace the one you lost all those years ago?" The night crew was entering the building. He didn't need to fight his opponents, though he could win against most of them if not all. But he just needed to buy enough time for them to prepare the new chemical weapon. With the UN against SOLDIER and the world losing trust in each other, Deon was ready to deprive the human race of yet another valuable asset, the third largest factor to how they have held out so long. Bullets.

Hank Miller

Hank limped his way into Deon's building. On hand he had a cane, the other hand his .357 revolver. He wouldn't last long in a fight, this he knew, but he needed to hold out until Deon was dead. Though the entire building sparked to life with the sounds of back up generators. When the lights came on though he was able to see in the sky a Helicopter. Was Deon trying to escape? Hank wasn't going to let him. He moved his way to the elevator, no front desk staff member. What was going on here? Was the building still in low use? SO low use that it didn't even have someone at the front desk? Something was... strange. Hank would worry later though, so he went up in the elevator to the roof.

Once up top he didn't see Deon, what he did see was a small team of vampires working on loading chemical storage containers onto the helicopter. Though the containers didn't look like standard storage. It looked like something used for distributing chemical weapons. One of the vampires soon took note of Hank, he had just enough time to collapse to the floor as bullets started buzzing by him. As he fell, he was able to get a shot off from his gun, the shot cutting right into the torso of the first vampire. If it was a standard bullet or even a hollow point, the vampire would recover, but it wasn't. The bullet soon started to eat away at the vampire as he screamed in pain. Hank cursed himself as he took not of his waste of the bullet.

Hank rotated the cylinder to switch back to the hollow point rounds he had loaded into it. he took aim right as the Helicopter was taking off. It was too far in the air to take shots at by the time he was able to fire. So he held fire and attempted to stand up. As he did he realized the vampire he shot had dropped one of the chemical containers. Hank made sure the gas mask he usually wore was well secure and he started walking up to it. It had a digital countdown to it, he got close enough to read it through the dark lenses. "11, 10, 9, 8..." It was counting down, he had seconds to move before what ever this was went off. Was it left here on purpose? Was it meant to go off on the building? If so, what was it? "6, 5, 4...." Hank started running, as fast as he could at least. His heart was racing, it was hurting, he had no idea if this thing would release casually or if it would explode in a cloud of smoke. "3, 2, 1, *BEEEEP*" The grey chemical cloud sprayed with heavy thickness across the roof, soon engulfing Hank and the rest of the upper building. From the outside it looked like an overpowered fog machine started to spew smoke down the sides of the building, then once it reached ground level it spread out covering everything it made contact with. Once it hit buildings ti started to climb, anyone that wasn't in a sealed room or isolated far enough away was effected by Deon's Chemical weaponry.

One in every thousand mortals had an airborne immunity to the virus. Then one in every thousand of those had an immunity to the direct virus. The only exceptions were the already deceased, the Vampires. The virus was dropped mainly one New York city, the far side from the UN building, intended to let survivors of that event see the horrors of the vampire based origin. The gas wouldn't last long, maybe five minutes. But anyone that took a breath would be infected by it, and soon parish.Anyone that did a chemical trace from the victims would see resemblance of the vampire genes in it, showing a direct correlation. The trust for vampires and humans would soon plummet. Forcing any sympathizers on the human side to rejoin their brother and sisters. Three more chemical weapons would be dropped on this city, two in DC, and two in London. Erickson's plan has finally reached it's next level, the beginning of the Second Nightwars.

Hank got up, his body in pain, his mind out of focus. But he got up. He picked up his fallen cane and limped his way tot he ledge to see what has been done. The few bystanders in the park were losing their minds. Hank was having trouble seeing through the lenses of the mask but he could see well enough as the fog cleared that something was wrong. Gun shots started going off through out the city, lots more then usual. Almost like a war was going on down there. Hank looked down again, and saw that the people once in agony were no running towards another person down below, soon tackling them, attacking them, ripping them to shreds. They were running with speeds un-human, he saw one take a bullet to the chest, then keep running. Their blood ran thick, thick as glue. They were definitely dead, they just refused to stay dead now. And Hank was forced to watch from his out-dated gas mask.

Vladimir felt the thin line of patience he had snap internally. He shook his head. "I am going to explore...if you need me have the pup track me" with that he gave a nod and proceeded in walking away. He tried to untangle the mess of scents and found himself rather unsuccessful.

That is until he heard it. The first scream as other humans charged them. It took him a moment, a blink really, before one of those..things were upon him. It it at his arm and took a good chunk out which caused for his skin to make that lovely spider noise as only a small amount of old blood sluggishly oozed out. He glared at the biter before he twisted the thing's head enough to snap the neck.

He inhaled the air and paused. It did not smell right...not even a little. He started following the oddness. He figured when it reached max intensity he would find his location...and he did. He did not pause as he entered the building and upon chance went down instead of up. The sight before him gave him a rather large smirk. The individuals ahead of him were all facing forward presenting him with a unique opportunity.

After killing most of the night crew that were headed toward deon he put one of their uniforms on over his clothes. He felt a weird need to mess with his target. He made his way to a few feet behind from before he cleared his throat. "the hell is going on boss?" the sarcasm dripped a bit. He did not expect his little dress up game to work...just that it would catch him off guard.

Kate and Liam

Soon enough the door caved and fell through off its hinges. "Ok, can you fight miss? I'm pretty sure this guy just unleashed an army out here. Commander Varomere I've followed your work since the end of the night wars. I'm very impressed. I was told that if any of the SOLDIER brass were in trouble i was to tell you Soldier initiative 2249 code name white lotus." He lied, he had heard the directive while on infiltration of Kate, she wanted to know if Ashley was still alive and Liam had got that for her.

Meanwhile Kate was facing off with Deon. "Deon Erickson. I'd know that stench anywhere. There's a little thing called deodorant. Should try it some time." She smiled as she'd drew her gun. "By old partner I assume you mean Ashley and no there isn't anyone else with me. Maybe your not the vampire you think you are Deon, your weak. I've seem Half-Bloods stronger than you." She was trying to frenzy him. Buy Liam enough time to escape with Deons captives.

"You know I always felt as though my life meaning was stripped from me when you plagued me all those years ago, but now I know my meaning and it's to stop creeps like you from destroying peace between our kind and the humans." She dropped a smoke bomb filling the room with a thick white fog giving her time to sink into the shadows, the one place Deon wouldn't be able see her. "You see I may not be a pure blood Deon, but by my blood mixing with the blood of other vampires, I can do things that most vampires wish they could do." She whispered from the shadows.

"I am going to explore...if you need me have the pup track me" Vladimir said before they parted ways, for now. "Alright so it's only the two of us anymore, we should get-" Allison couldn't finish her sentence as she got unterrupted by several screams which were coming closer. Only moments later a weird grey fog rolled towards them. You can either call it instinct or personal experience, but screams in combination with a spreading weird grey fog never meant anything good. Allison didn't waste any time, she turned around and ran away from the fog, looking for a somewhat safe place "I don't know about you but I think it's better not to breath in this weird ass fog!".
As Allison exited the alley she looked around, there had to be some place. Time was running short as the fog almost reached the end of the alley. By the time the citizens have realised that this cloud wasn't your average fog and were running away from it as well. There was no more time for Allison to run away, the fog would catch up with her sooner or later. In a quick decision she ran to a car and got in. Inside was a man who was rather irritated about Allison barging in. "If you wanna live, make sure everything is closed, hope that the car has the right air circulation mode and switch it on and most of all, hope this car is isolated good enough in general and that we'll survive this."

Something was 'up'.

It was a subtle thing. A combination of tiny little signals, in just the right order. A calculated observation that the weak or foolish might mistake for 'intuition'. The subtle scent of blood in the air, a coppery flavour that brought a grin to her face. Deep silence, occasionally broken by a slight strange sound, too soft to have been overhead by normal ears. Gunshots, far in the distance, muffled by concrete walls and artificial silencers. A tension in the air palpable enough to be tasted. Mia stalked from rooftop to rooftop, drawn to the slaughter like a mother to the flame. It was her obsession, her sole desire, a hunger that transcended the mere need for blood that drove the mindless drones among her kin. For she hunted the intoxication of death, the beauty that could only be found in the end of a life. Capturing the very moment that life fades into nothingness in her memory, an eternal tribute to those she killed.

Mia looked up, as she once more heard gunshots. She found herself in front of a large building complex. From the outside, it appeared to be nothing more than a large office or apartment building. Generic in every sense of the word, it was a place Mia would have usually avoided if not for the suspicious cloud of greyish gas that now bloomed from the top of this tower. Coupled, of course, with the delectable scent of blood that now strongly cloyed the air, calling out to her. It took mere moments to find the source of this perfume in the bodies of several vampires, strewn haphazardly on the ground in the shadow of the building. Mia looked from corpse to corpse, admiring as the expressions gradually became every more alarmed, as blissful ignorance gave way to sudden panic. It was a beautiful progression, a matching set to emphasize the gradient curve of fear. It was a shame they had to be vampires, humans always made for far more delicious pieces than her coldblooded kin.

Of course, a second site soon drew her attention. Atop a nearby building, the very walls were dripping with blood. Mia hopped over the ledge with inhuman grace, a shadow stalking the skyline. A single clawed finger reached down, dipping into a pool of blood, as Mia took the tiniest of sips. It was fresh, twenty minutes at most. Even fresher than the corpses downstairs. The scene was one of torture, a vampire had been painstakingly dismembered, their blood splattered freely to weaken them. But while one hand had been fully cleansed of fingers, the other hand still held three, and it was clear the entire process had been performed in a hurry. Being the resident expert on the subject, Mia quickly discerned this had not been an entertainment killing, it had been business. And considering the bear trap that had been used, it had been a human who had done the act. A hunter, and a hunter with a goal.

Mia grin as she brought her little investigation to a close, thoroughly pleased with herself. The large-looking bullet casings that littered the floor were meaningless to her, as were the gunpowder stains and the scrape marks that dotted the terrain. But torture, that was an open book to her, and what she read was exciting to say the least. Mia was never left without entertainment, there was always something to do when you're this easy to please. But hunters, they were a special toy, made all the more savoury by their rarity. Mia would swear that their hatred could be discerned from their blood, giving it an exquisitely bitter aftertaste. And this hunter was good, wiping out an entire 4-man vampire squad. And these weren't newly turned welps, either. Not to mention that this particular hunter might be involved in the mess taking place inside this building.

Licking her chops like a hungry wolf, Mia dropped down to the ground floor. The area she was about to enter was no doubt filled with danger, very different from the mindless cattle she usually preyed on. But danger simply added flavour to the hunt, and as mother always said, food tastes better when you've earned it. Slipping through the unlocked doors, crawling over the ceiling as she explored this large empty building, she followed the scent of the human. There was more blood in the air, and more dead. Humans, this time. Beautiful. This was going to be a lot of fun. Grinning widely, Mia darted up the stairs, swiftly coming to a rest when she heard the telltale signs of heavy, laboured breathing. Screams filled the air, and death made it's presence known. Mia's blood was pumping, her head was pounding, she could feel the excitement rushing through her body as she opened the final door, walking out onto the roof. There stood a lone figure, a single human, the slight smell of blood like an aura about him, emanating from the many slight cuts and bruises he had acquired. Mia could hear the beating of his heart, an erratic thump-thump, thump-thump, the smell of fear on his back. The smell of defeat. The smell of cattle, of prey, of weakness.

"Nice night, isn't it?" Would this person be a disappointment? Based on their position, Mia half expected them to throw themselves off the building on the spot. She'd seen it before, during her hunts. She had hunted down a lion, and found herself faced with a mouse. Perhaps he had been broken before she even arrived? Little did she care for the situation, even as the city began to be devoured by the living dead, but this unexpected change of pace most certainly piqued her interest. "I was just out for a stroll, and figured I'd say hi. Any nice sights out today?"

The power came back on. The door gave. Mithias was just as imprisoned. Liam came in and said something about a code that Mithias did not yet grasp. Stuck in his bonds, Mithias did not immediately reply until he heard voices sounding down the halls of the basement detainment complex. It was Deon, and Kate, and some other voices.

"Kathryn. Deon has returned. You need to get out of here. It sounds like there's a confrontation going on, and I have no idea who is winning. Go. I have confidence that Erickson won't kill me if he finds me still here. I will get another chance."

Mithias was still shirtless since his visit to the hospital, but he looked slightly more recovered. His clawed fingertips pressed futilely against the cold metal of the chair, belying his tension. He watched as much as he could see outside the broken door to his cell, listening.

What is the price of failure?
Is it your life? In a way perhaps.
But to demand payment of your life was too easy.
A life which was worthless was wasted by death.
But a life which once had meaning...
To take that meaning away?
That is the punishment fit for such failings.

And now as the suited man twitched upon the floor, his face pale and lips trembling, another sat in his seat. There the human's body convolved in pain, wracked in the immediate transformation as his will was drank dry. Two punctures to his skin, sharpened fangs that pierced deep the mind as the last moments of life slipped away. Without the days of rest between the feedings it was a gruesome process to watch, like slowly dying spider writhing its legs in jerky motions. It was a battle of being paralyzed within your own mind, your free will being wrestled away by the call of blood. It was a tug of war between freedom and enslavement, a battle that tore the psyche apart before fitting it back together. Yet neither the chair nor he who sat in it would budge for the doomed man.

Who are you James?

The message from the other end, whomever it was that Agent Rodney had sent communications too was indeed curious. in the corner of the computer screen a young man's face, with scarlet hair and wild green eyes stared intensely into the camera. Did he not know he was being watched? But alas, the old knight was not too well versed in this mode of communications, as these magic boxes were beyond his understanding. Yes, let it be said that Lord Bedivere was the typical geriatric folk when it comes to most means of modern technology. Planes, trains and automobiles, the beginnings of the era of industry was still fresh in his memory. As such agents such as James were useful in acquiring information. However this magic black book resembled a typewriter of sorts and as such Bedivere treated it as so, hoping that this boy would receive his telegram as his fingers found themselves searching for the keys to spell out his message.

James is currently indisposed of. This is his superior. Tell me, what has happened to Mithias. James overdue report here appears to tell us he is missing in action. And he was supposed to keep me updated on Lord Varomere's activities in SOLIDER. His report also states you are a SOLIDER agent assigned to Mithias Varomere. Perhaps we can help each other.

The reply came, despite Bedivere's long-winded paragraph of text. In all honest mastering the art of internet communications was difficult for a man used to verbalized commands and orders. Eloquence was not the way of the web, and as such, his continuance to type as Lucan stared bewildered at the screen as words magically appeared letter by letter. To which the Red-head replied back, frantically typing away underneath before Bedivere completed his introduction.

Taken away to a hospital after a carbomb, I can't find him, SOLIDER has retracted his files. They are sealed behind a protected password. Now how can you help?

Gabriel.

Bedivere smiled at the chosen password. SOLIDER and their silly games, to pick that name of all names. Sure it was the selected codename for the operation, to which as Lucan typed in those seven letters, access was granted to the files. And one smiled, but the other frowned as they read the information on the screen. Vindication at last, as Bedivere massaged his temples and looked down at the still-squirming James. "Good work old boy, but now I am afraid you have earned yourself a tighter leash around your neck. Next time I want this report sent in earlier..."

And with that the Vampire lord stepped out of the Agent Rodney's hotel room, walking a few paces towards the elevator and pressing a button to go up. A rather lovely place, the elder amused himself as the waited for the elevator doors to open. For in his awake, a dead cleaning service lady, unceremoniously dumped into the trash bin of her cleaning cart with the rest of the refuse. He did after all ask her politely for her room card.

---

Deon? Who was this Deon? And what did it have to do with SOLIDER? SOLIDER the group who Mithias worked for, now betrayed him? Setting up that bomb and selling him out? Betrayed by his own people? Stupid. Stupid humans. Pitiful whelps. Lucan swore to himself he would tear them apart limb from limb from limb for doing this to his Mithias. His sire would know what a good and dedicated servant he was. Yes, whoever this stranger was who replaced James, must have been some top agent or something. Someone important, possibly even a vampire by the way he had addressed his master as 'Lord Varomere' for only vampires did this, and often those old enough to know the common respect there was with old blood.

But yes, he knew were Mithias was now. Or he did after some research and chasing the dog down the alley. Information was a wonderful era to be in as he prepared his gun. Yes, a gun which he had used earlier, and would use again. A deranged thrall desperate enough to consider going as a one-man army to rescues his dearest master. But wait, who was that knocking on the door at this hour? A visitor? Here? Now? Of all timing, Lucan pulled his gun to the door, ready to shoot the thing which stood between him and his Mithias.

"I hope you know how to drive boy. And wipe that blood off. Then we shall find Mithias." A tall pale man greeted him, dressed in a silvery-white three piece suit one which matched his long mane of hair as it draped down his back like some video game character Lucan recognized from his younger days. And yet even as the red-eyed elder vampire nearly broke his wrist in a hold to wrench the gun free from Lucan's hand, the red-headed thrall couldn't help but stand in awe of the power before him. It was not like his master, but yet still worthy of praise, down the moon-like shimmering bowtie tied perfectly around his neck. Who was this vampire lord? Obviously a lord of course.

Held in his other hand a black umbrella while a hotel pool towel seemed to hang off his arm as he threw Lucan back into the room and threw the white Egyptian cottons at him. To argue with this man, who suddenly appeared at his doorstep moments after talking with him over the computer? And bearing a freshly folded and scented towel with an insignia and logo from the Boston Harbor Hotel? Boston was at least a few hours away getting here this was fast...

"Do not keep me waiting boy. James kept me waiting, an action he now regrets."

Hank Miller

@thewizardguy

Hank turned to meet his new host. It wasn't hard to tell sh was a vampire, a young one at that. Physically that is. The only way Hank could tell while wearing his mask how old they actually were was how they fought. Even the vampires with combat experience fighting experience prior to being turned had trouble fighting. Most the time they were not use to their bodies. And even when they were they were still sloppy for many years to come. Hank took a guess very few were able to get into a decent style of fighting until at least fifteens years after being turned. There were exceptions, the hiders took longer, ones with combat training took less time, some with determination and lots of experience or training took less, it all depended. This one seemed old enough to be a problem though. But she looked so young, she almost looked like Kathryn when she was little. Other then the fact that the little one looked like she'd murder Hank a dozen times over for fun.

She seemed passive for now, which was good. Hank was barely able to stand on his own. Holding his .357 in one hand, and his walking cane in the other he looked the little vampire in the eyes. "Nice sites? Not really, unless you know where to find a man named Deon Erickson? Sometimes he goes my Michele Ryse, John smith, and Michel Jordan." All those names were true, Hank had found out several of Deon's "Secrete identities" Though hard research and his connections from the Navy. Though his connections are not always reliable, he still has one friend that has claimed to have flown a submarine and crash landed it on an island.

Hank with the gun in his hand had a couple options, though it was lowered. He wasn't fast in his state either. The time it would take his to raise the gun she could be on top of him gutting him. And with that other then the disintegration bullet hew as saving for Deon the hollow points may only injure her, then piss her off. If he was going to make it out of this now, it was by talking to her. "Actually, are you alone up here?" His heart was starting to struggle again, was it the stress from talking to her? How's that? She's no different then any other vampire he had fought.... Other then Kathryn... She reminded him a lot of Kathryn. He had to stay focus, even if he felt like his heart was skipping beats, which in all fairness was a possibility. "I guess the more important question is, who are you? And what do you want?" The fog from the virus was starting to clear up. The rooftop could be seen clearly now. The ground was still thick but at least Hank could see up top again.

Mia squinted. How strange. She had expected him to shoot at her, or at least try to. And yet, even as she tensed for the dash across the roof, he merely spoke. How interesting. Was this a new kind of game? Was this a game of chicken? Was he seeing what she would do, as she waited to see what he did? And yet she couldn't read him, couldn't read his movements. His face was weary and experienced, his body cut up and bruised beyond imagining, and yet he still held himself as if he were a threat. A bloodied sheep with the stance of a lion. It was certainly a most interesting animal she'd come across.

The names meant nothing for her. Mia had long done away with names. When most of your 'social interaction' involved a serrated edge and a slow death, names became mostly inconsequential. She recognized people more by the way they bled than by any label they'd attach to themselves. But she humoured him, interested in the stranger's game. If he were nice, she might even play along.... "You wanna find Deon? What fun! I can find anyone, if I want to. The question is simply whether I want to." Mia smiled. It was part boast, part truth. She could track like a bloodhound, if given something by which to recognize her quarry's scent. "But you ain't looking so good. So I'm thinking that you're an easy meal for any nasty crawly monsters in the dark. No more legs to run away, no more bullets to shoot. Isn't it a good thing that it's just little old me?" Mia innocently held her hands behind her back, her claws tapping against one another.

Of course, just killing this guy now was boring. She'd come all the way out here to find him, after all. Hunting had two appeals. He didn't look like the type to scream, and in his current state and location she very much doubted he'd run very far. So she'd have to find a new game to play with him, something.... original. Fresh. After all, if she was going to hunt for eternity, she'd have to introduce some variety to keep it interesting. "Hey, I just had an idea for something. How about I help you find this......" what was his name again? Something with a D? Whatever. ".... the dude you're looking for. And then you try and kill him. But, if you don't manage to kill him, I get to do whatever I want with you. Sound like fun?" Of course, the odds of this guy actually killing his mark were fairly slim. Especially if he found the guy tonight. The game was rigged against him. But considering his position, he was all out of options. Her help, regardless of the consequences, was the best shot he had at walking off this roof alive, and he knew it.

The man who apparently owned the car did as Allison said and they seemed to be lucky. Their car met the requirements to keep them from being infected. Many however weren't as lucky as them. Allison thought about what to do next and tried to figure out what this biological weapon was based on looking for any characteristics she knew. Unfortunately there were no clear signs for any of the ones she knew.

Meanwhile a man stumbled across the road, then he spotted the car Allison an the man sat in. He couldn't get away in time it seemed, but it was a good opportunity to find out how this weapon effected its victims. The answer didn't wait long as he began to run in their direction. "Oh this is not good, start the engine!" The man did as Allison said while the infected leaped on the cars hood and started to beat against the front window. "What are you waiting for? Get going!" "But I can't, I'd kill him!" "Then just let us switch seats!" "But-" There was not time to discuss so Allison drew her Pistol and held it against the mans forehead "Switch seats or you won't have to worry about your next paintjob anymore!" Finally the man agreed and they switched seats, the front window already took quite some damage, it wouldn't be long before it shatters.

Finally sitting in the drivers seat Allison didn't waste any time and floored the accelerator. The infected held tight and kept beating the window. "Get. Off. My. Car!" Allison yelled as she slammed on the brakes, sending the infected flying on the road.

The infected lied there for a few seconds but then he got up again. "Some really don't know when it's time to just give up..." Again the infected charged at them but this time Allison responded and floored the accelerator once again. Seconds before they'd collide she turned on the headlights, flashing the infected momentarily. In the next moment he was run over. "Y-You just killed him!" "Yes I just killed him, because if I wouldn't have we'd probably be dead by now or end up like him. If you prefer this you can still get out the car." Of course the man didn't want to die so he kept quited. "And what now?" "For now, trying not to get caught by these 'Zombies'."
