@PirouetteThat can make for some interesting situations, as he will no doubt worsen as the threat gets closer and closer, and conflict arises from within(lookin at you Staff Sergeant), and sh eand him half to fight to keep his condition secret and keep moral and faith in leadership up... this is gonna be awesome
SO many different kind methods are gonna need to be used... I really can't wait
"I don't do this for the gore, the gain, or the glory. I do this because there are prices to pay for people I love. And those I love are arms and shoulders right besides me in the gripping heat of battle. I do this for my brothers and sisters. We march together. We fall together."
Name
Yvette Slade
Gender
Female
Age
21
For a 2nd Lieutenant, she's pretty young in physical years, yet with the type of state of mind she has, bringing the type of maturity and discipline she needs. Time is all but a number to her, because what matters to Yvette is skill, experience, and passion. Being doubted because of age is one way to get under Yvette's skin. But she's proud of the progress she has made, humble to be an inspiration to young recruits.
Gender
Female
Height
5'2
Yvette is considered below average height for her age, thus making her quite short. Yet, she strives to diminish the importance of height within the battlefield. Does being short bring along insecurity? Not even a little bit. In fact, Yvette uses what other may consider a disadvantage in her favor by her will to better dodge in close combat, proving those who doubted her wrong.
Weight
115 lbs.
Yvette is considered thin by her stature, and though she is comprised of a health amount of muscle, she is still very skinny. However with this too, she intends to make the odds in her favor by understanding the heavy weight of an EFCS. But that is when she is equipped with armor, which is more times than without it. However, in such circumstances where she is out of her EFCS, she must rely on speed rather than the strength she has little of compared to enemies much heavier than her.
Gear
Omega Allegiance Repeater
Carbon Void Shooter
Phantomstrike Slicer
EHCS
The Sprinter- The suit gets its name due to its ability to provide protection, speed, and agility to its wearer. Regarded moreover as a lightweight piece of armor.
Personality
If there's one thing to know about Yvette so far, she breaks standards. Age, height, weight, let those physical things be below average because it deems itself irrelevant when it comes to the individual she's grown to be. Yvette did not become 2nd Lieutenant for gain, glory, or even family traditions. She's a soldier because it is her addiction. But its the addiction that births talent, and through talent comes the type of passion Yvette needs to act as her fuel to sustain her journey and bring her to the destiny she was met to uphold. So, yes, she takes the job very serious, with formalities being very necessary, for most of the time. Because it is the title of 2nd Lieutenant that defines her very next days as she stands responsibility for each life she commands under her superior.
Yvette does not love the military because she loves death, war, or the rush of blood thirsty temptations to seek vengeance beyond justice. She treasures the camaraderie, the sake she can have a family she is willing to die for. And though she is blunt, harsh, and sometimes the perfect drill sergeant, Yvette does not hide a single feeling, neither will she ever be described with the word cold. Her emotions are infectious, and usually guiding the atmosphere of those surrounding her. At the end of the day, Yvette may say cruel words, but its out of protection or to snap a soldier back in his or hers right mind, especially if they cower or lose themselves in anxiety. Though, Yvette does enjoy blowing steam off and partying within reason, she's a lively woman, everyone knows it. And it is because of her emotions and the words that come with them, that she owes her success to. If you have something to get off of your chest, Yvette's the one to see, unless you're a deserter. Yvette hates deserters.
As to where she is for her morality. Well, Yvette is the one to make hard decisions, and her judgment is based on what is best for the group, however even more than that, what is best for the military. Yet, she remembers she is the second-in-command, the leader has the first say so. Well, she ever back down on her superior, only in extreme cases and not in the way of a traitor.
Bio:
Before the military, Yvette was a criminal. It was in her juvenile years, a rebellious teen confused and deluded enough to find comfort in the injustice and selfish among things. But she did not have anyone in her life to be inspired by. It was herself making wrong decisions at the time. Her father was imprisoned for desertion and her mother was married to a prisoner, just because of that being true, she suffocated Yvette in strict regulations and rules so her daughter would never end up there. This eventually caused Yvette to runaway and accompany kids her age that posed as vandals. Yvette and the group recklessly spattered graffiti here and there, sabotaging the property of police officers and authorities, believing they could be some kind of anarchists group by defeating the oppressive superiors, as if anarchy could be freedom. The more they vandalized, the more destructive they became, like their appetite grew stronger with each act. They were finally arrested after the teens turned to pyromania. After so, Yvette served time in juvenile detention, but soon a rising program to take delinquent juveniles and raise them up to be disciplined soldiers became an option for Yvette.
She took it, figured there is more to life than sitting in room and thinking hard and long about the wrong choices she made. And she also wanted to make her mother proud, finally understanding though the woman was unbearable at times, she was trying to protect her daughter from a path she would regret. But she was hesitant, her father was a coward, he ran, the military reminded Yvette of that. Yet, she had chance to prove herself different.Once enlisted into the program, Yvette felt as if she finally discovered her purpose in life, and she was not going to let anything get in her way from pursuing it. Though Yvette had an earlier stab at climbing up the ranks, her passion far exceeded any head start.
Yvette was promoted to 2nd Lieutenant when rogue forces ambushed Yvette's unit, taking them prisoner. It was unknown who they were, but there was one thing of no mysterious, they hated her people. Taken captive, they lined the troops up on their knees and the squad leader was presented in the front of them with a gun to his head. But the terrorists were not going to shoot him, one of them had to. And if they didn't, all of them die.
But it was her who could not see the squad die for one person, surely even their leader could agree on such decision. She gripped the weapon given, yet shooting her superior was not on agenda. Yvette grappled the leading terrorist in a choke hold with the gun to his head, swiftly tossing a knife she snapped off of the enemy to her leader so he cut the ties from his hands. Yvette use the man as a shield as she precisely pounded bullets to create death blows. By the end of it, there were a few survivors, but who knows where they could be if she complied with the enemy.
It was a risky move, she could of gotten all of them slaughter easily. But without that movement, they very well could have been anyways. She became known as a hero. After the promotion, she was transferred to NO-36, where she now starts a new chapter in her life.
@beyond visions Geeze man... its like your trying to make Mika nervous! Assuming she is accepted he is gonna be pretty paranoid about a 'hero' being sent to the outpost... he only ever gets the rejects... so it is more than a little worrying
btw for those who have been here a long time, or even like a few months why don't we talk character relationships? I guess we could wait for RP to start bu I imagone if its been awhile there would already be at least some opinions of eachother... anyone up for it?
Or we can of course wait for RP to start first
I agree, anyone wanna buddy up with ol' Cal.
In other news, I'm going to be gone for about eight hours today, starting now. When I get back, I'll finish accepting CS's and then we can start posting IC.
@agentmanatee Yeah, though luckily she has a good heart. Perhaps instead of making Mika look like a figure head, she is probably going to inspire and encourage him. But... if matters call for her to take charge, there's going to be some confrontation.
PFC Esther Rose has been stationed at NO-36 for at least a year, which gives her time to dwell in her cynicism. She is a bit comically jealous that she wasn't attacked by the medic who went crazy; of course, she would hardly admit it.
@Briza Alright another long timer, so what does she think of the CO? Even though no one knows he has the anxiety issues, he is obviously an antsy person and a Greenhorn(though I guess your character is to)
I imagine he dislikes your cynicism, believing it brings down moral in the small bunker with such tight quarters and has probably at least attempted to coax positivity out of you to some extent, even if only to save his own sanity to not feel like a failure as a leader cause he can't get one soldier to cheer the fuck up... so he probably has not stopped trying
@agentmanatee, PFC Rose is probably mildly amused by his constant need to change her attitude. In such a case, where he is persistent to make her cheer up, she probably views his attentions as some sort of friendship, albeit, she doesn't let people close to her. Considering she was homeschooled, she misses many social queues, and his antsy behavior is just part of his personality with which she has to deal. I didn't mention that her family visited one of the Eastern Orthodox Monasteries in Evoria at least once or twice a year (for usually Confessional reasons); the impressions left on her from the visits have made her quite a solemn human being and widely acceptable to different personality types.
@Briza Alright. Now no one knows of his full condition other than the medic, but I'd say he does stutter a bit more than regular people, and that She could have been perceptive enough to notice it was more than the occasional mess up and may actual have a deeper meaning
@agentmanatee, she won't dwell on it. She will just find it... I want to say charming, but I don't want to make it come off as an obsession she takes time to contemplate.
@agentmanatee, she can have a different accent. That's make sense. She also comes from a more philosophical culture, so she's probably not quick to react unless on the field. After a year in the NO-36, she has probably adapted to the professional military culture, especially due to the fact that she was sheltered from the public Evorian culture--she's easily malleable to a degree.
@Briza alright, he is gonna enjoy listening to you talk. I'm gonna say He enjoys your accent and finds it 'exotic' if that's alright. He does not meet many foreign people
