One of my first questions is the nature of the conflict. When reading over the OP, I can see the mention of an RSG and the imperial forces being in a state of cival war. However, I don't see any mention of the RSG's origins. From reading, it looks like they possibly come from Tormin, but they could very well be rebels from Avenase. Just getting some clarification of what exactly my characters origin would be (for example, a Avenese soldier/officer that defected to the RSG in order to escape the oppression of the tyrant).

Now on that topic, I'm ok with my character being born in Tormin as a lancer. That being said, would the culture be conducive to dragoon-esque training? Not to say the character would start out as a dragoon, but with it being my favorite class in nearly rendition of FF- it's something I'd like to end up at (or near).

As a side note, I'm getting a very heavy Ramza vibe from the way the protagonist is explained in the OP.

@Leolycan RSG is Tormin's military, they have no connection to Avenase in terms of their forming. As for the Lancer, if you wish your character to become a Dragoon, then I can arrange the path your character would need to go down to achieve this goal. On terms of the side note, there's probably a small bit of Ramza's background in there, like how Tyme came from Avenase and is fighting against the Imperials. However, there's much more going on that isn't seen or known yet. If you read the IC, you'll see one secret has been revealed already through Alexander's prologue story, however, not everything surrounding what happened has been revealed yet.

Everyone in Tormin is pretty much friendly to everyone else. Of course, there are cases where people aren't friendly, like the incident that happened with Tyme when he arrived. The people won't care either way if she's from the city or country, long as she doesn't cause problems, she's golden. As for the capital; Moro Zera used to be Tormin's largest coastal city, it was the center of trade for the county when there were twelve continents. Now most of Tormin's docks are in ruins due to neglect, there are only two actual operating ports, and one of them is used by the RSG for their fleet.

Personality:
Nitire spent a good majority of his early adulthood in the military of Avenase, and knows how to follow orders and march in line with the rest of the pack. However, he is above all compassionate and empathetic, which led to his ultimate decision to leave his homeland and desert the army in favor of the RSG. This decision still tugs at his heartstrings, dreading the day he stumbles upon family or friend on the battlefield as an enemy and traitor. In his mind though, he'd rather die a traitor then a villain. Once he realized he was fighting for nothing more than a tyrant and a devil, he bided his time until events transpired that secured his defection.

Not one to bow out of a fight, Nitire is passionate to a fault as he fervently defends his stance on any matter often to the point of personal conflict. He believes strongly in the warrior's code, and will do nothing to tarnish his honor more then it already has been. With his spear and his body, he vows to see the tyranny end and revel in the peace left in the ruins of it's downfall.

History:

Born to a simple merchant family, Nitire grew bored of his place in life and often set out to find ways to liven his dull existence. First, he played the rebel during his school years, finding himself at ends with teachers and other officials as he constant roused 'excitement' in all manner and forms. These years saw him involved in several brawls with other students, often suspended and nearly expelled all together. However, the day his father passed, Nitire took time to mellow and reflect on this event. Now a bastard at the age of 16, he began to make an effort to reform himself as he strove to better his grades and create a better name for himself. Needless to say, it was rough since most teachers and officials had grown to despise the young man. Despite all this, he graduated and moved onward to military service- a staple for young men in the country of Avenase. So with that, he bid farewell to his mother as he set off for a glorious future as a man of war.

As with every new recruit, his initial time was a struggle as he tried to fight his rebellious nature and conform to his superiors. However, this mentality didn't last long as he found himself beaten and 'disciplined' to the point of a nearly broken psyche. Quietly he began to gather up the broken fragments and mold them -although coerced- into a perfect soldier. If your commander said to jump, he asked how high? If you were ordered take a new recruit and 'enlighten' him to how the squad worked, he did it. This went on for man years as Nitire merely acted as a vessel for the armies will... That until he was forced out of his daze to the true nature of his superiors.

It was supposed to be a simple engagement; a small skirmish on the border with an underwhelming retinue. Despite this information, the captain of his platoon gathered an overwhelming number of soldiers and began the march to the field of battle. Sure enough, fighting ensued as the forces clashed. Nitire was tasked with assaulting the enemies rear with an ambush designed to lure the enemy into overextending. Once again, Nitire did not question this as he took his spear and awaited with the others of the assault squad. Just like clockwork, a small squad acting as a diversion lured the Tormin forces further into Avenasian territory. With a rallying cry, Nitire and his brothers struck a decisive blow against the enemy- who by this point has suffered numerous casualties and eventually surrendered. All the soldiers were rounded up and locked away at camp, left there for questioning with the promise of freedom... Or so Nitire was told.

"Next." The burly mountain of a man spoke, wiping his blade clean of the freshly spilt blood that now stained his metal and the grass beneath him. As a couple of soldier stepped forward to haul away the freshly disposed corpse, another was led before the towering man and forced to his knees. Nitire watched on in horror as one after one the men were dispatched without mercy or consideration- even if they provided valuable intel.

"This isn't war! This is nothing more than a slaughter!" Nitire protested, his old rebellious and passionate tendencies begining to reawaken.

"Shut up, you insubordinate fool! One more outburst and I'll see you in chains along with the other dogs!" His commander retorted, followed by a heavy backhand that threatened to topple the younger and smaller male. It was at this point, Nitire had his revalation and began plotting his future actions.

Fast forward a few weeks later, and once again they were in the midst of conflict. Set to be part of the assault squad once more, he intentionally set himself at the back of the column. Once the signal was given to attack, the man rounded and began to flee towards the border. It was a heart pounding experience, having to duck in and out of cover as he continued to try and evade any possible pursuers. Luckily enough, the venture wasn't met with any more turmoil as his eyes fell upon a lone harbor and a boat departing soon for the landmass. Using the last of the funds he had on his person, he 'paid' (bribed) the captain to allow his passage aboard the ship to the opposing nation in this conflict.

He didn't know what else to do... Or rather, he wasn't sure. He had heard stories of the nation of Tormin and it's leaders. 'A nation fighting for peace?' A thought that played out in his head the entire trip across the sea. After seeing the brutal and often evil nature of his commanders in the Avenasian army, he began to entertain the idea of fighting against those who oppressed him and the many others during his time there... More so, he began to envision fighting for a noble purpose. It was then he made up his mind, committing to the idea of surrendering to the Tormin army and volunteering to enlist. He knew there was a chance he'd simply be detained; possibly even deported back to his homeland, but he'd have to try.

Once the boat made landfall, he found his way to nearest city and surrendered himself to the local guard/militia. At this point, his fate was in the hands of the RSG.

That said, I should mention that right now, black and white magic isn't able to be wielded together by anyone yet. Tyme's an exception due to plot purposes which will be revealed later. As for his magic, period, he would only be allowed to have black magic available (Decided he could be the one character who gets to escape Avenase with that bracelet that enables magic). So blizzard is fine to have, feel free to add fire and thunder if you so wish.

Also, I'm not sure if you understood correctly, but Avenase is one continent, and Tormin is another. They have no land borders connecting each other, just a vast ocean. So Nitire's escape would be in a boat by sea. Whether he stowed away in the boat Tyme took, or he stole one to get across, either way is fine with me. Once these are fixed, your character...actually, I won't give him a rank yet. So once the CS is fixed up, you can place him in the Character tab.

History: Zoran Joranis was born in one of the smaller towns far from the coast-ward capitol of Tormin. He had a normal life for the most part, his father getting him hooked at age eight to the many kinds of weaponry that existed in the world. However, his favorite was always the gunblade, a masterful combination of melee strikes with ranged lethality. When he was twelve, he decided to enlist with the RSG to learn how to wield one and help protect his home. He studied hard before every test for the next six years, taking every physical improvement class he could and attending several martial arts clubs to make sure he was as fit as possible for when he could finally enlist. These classes filled up his free time, though he eventually changed from so many martial arts clubs with an agility club so he could also be limber.

The day Zoran turned 18, he went straight to the enlistment office, though his parents had their reservations, and signed up, leaving after he finished his schooling for training. When they started, he insisted on learning how to use a gunblade, scoring high in the test to be trained with it. While he was away, he wrote letters home regularly, with his parents always sending back replies. However, near the completion of his training, his parents didn't get a response to his letter to him or the one after. He didn't think anything of it, knowing that they were likely getting ready for his homecoming. His confidence, and happiness, where destroyed the day after completing training. A letter arrived from his grandparents informing him of their murder and that the one responsible hadn't been caught yet.

Zoran, set upon by an odd mixture of depression and determination, finished his time with the RSG with a flawless record and an honorable discharge. However, he was disillusioned with the idea of protecting everyone and became a wanderer, helping those he could and praying for those he couldn't.

History: Kessig hailed from the imperial lands. Tired of its harsh brutality, and its military based structure, he chose to leave. He went in search of his true calling, and found it when gazing upon Luna Bladedancer. She was giving a speech about the importance of peace, and he was awestruck. For the last 6 years, he has done everything he can to get closer to the woman. Luna's wisdom is what the world needs in Kessig's eyes. Too much death, too much senseless violence. And for what? To be able to say the words "It's mine."? The continents ruled the people not the other way around. People focus on control so much, that when catastrophe strikes, they realize how little control they really have. In Kessig's eyes, the world was a gift, not something to be taken for granted. It seemed Luna offered the same insight.

Kessig's popularity did grow in Tormin, and his experience with the Halberd was sought after. While training in Tormin, he met a mage. He taught the man a little self defense, so in close quarters he could get away and cast his spells, and in return, the mage started teaching Kessig how to feel the mana in the air. To sense the magic. He hoped that he could learn to heal those wounded. The hair on his arms stood up and followed the flow of magic on this beautiful continent. He could feel it, but could not quite channel it. The mage told him he had potential and it was indeed possible.

Kessig's family abandoned him when he denounced the Imperials and he hasn't spoken to them since. His father a wealthy man had donated many times to their cause, making their family name fairly known. His fathers caravans were often guarded by imperial soldiers because of his loyalty and he oftened discounted wares and goods to the army. Many people on Avenase sported Mianthus wares.

I don't mind him using a gunblade, but due to lack of any real professionals in Tormin when it comes to physical fighters, he's going to have to be clumsy with the weapon. Also, he wouldn't have been accepted into RSG at twelve, that's a little too young to be a soldier. Enlistment/conscription age is 16 at minimum, unless he was forced into the RSG beforehand, which is rare. In Avenase it's commonplace due to the poor living conditions and such, but Tormin has practically no poor people.

Just one little flaw I saw, if Kessig used to be an Imperial soldier and was born and raised in the Empire, then his Origin needs to change to Avenase, as that's where he's from. Loyalty is alright, I mean, Luna gives orders to the RSG, so it works fine for me. I like the idea of him helping a mage, and in turn, the mage teaching him magic. A very intuitive idea. Anyways, just fix his Origin and add in for his Rank: Luna Bladedancer's Elite Guard. Once done, go ahead and place him in the Character tab.

@Zarkun Oh, I must have overlooked it. >_< He can be 18 when he joins, it still works. Luna hasn't enforced conscription yet, so the RSG are made up of those who willingly joined of their own accord.

@Zarkun Okay, so since he's neutral, he won't need a rank right now. Aside from fixing the background to where he isn't able to be completely proficient with the gunblade, he looks good. Once the fix is made, place him in the Character tab and I'll work his starting point into my next post.
