Personally I'm fine with just, straight up roleplaying an MMO without deep ties per say. Find it a bit fun, though it will mean a good bit of quest idea generation on the GM's end if we move toward a more casual type of deal. Especially since quests could be turned down. It just needs more depth, an options which is going to be quite a big ask.

I think a real challenge will be the fact there's going to be a "IRL" aspect to this.
Whether it be just a timeskip, or if the player's get to interact in the real world outside of the game.
That may be something to consider soon, since they do have lives outside of the game. Also after playing a dungeon twice or two dungeons, seems like a good cool off/get away from the computer time unless one has a vast amount of free time and dedication for gaming alone.

Another point would be... loot. I would probably recommend finding a loot table of some sort for ye.
Outside of the "artifact", I don't think any other items were specified from the boss. Just that there were items available for all of our classes and races. But.. what were those items and what play styles do they go toward? What do they look like? What are the upsides/downsides of it, and maybe why to pick it over other items or current items?
What stats do they boost, do they grant any passives, or additional skills, etc?
Really, really begging on this part, or at least a semi-description. As otherwise it feels a bit, empty.
Especially in MMOs where different gear effects the build of a character, and the game play style along with creating a need for loot hunting/collecting & selling.
Since it seems everyone respawned in town immediately, I'm going to assume that the chance of items being taken from PK'd is only if the item is out in the open.
Also, not all loot has to be good as a heads up, varying it is acceptable remember that. It can also be parts of armor sets that give bonuses for having a full set equipped, or just look cool. Ye can drop an armor piece, but not the full set, or just a weapon, that might be semi-okay, or be useful as scrap or sale. Junk items that are worth in game money are a thing too (paintings, idols, jewelry that may be crafted to do stuff, components, etc.)

A way to keep the party together (without the jester) may be walking into a dungeon and procking a hidden event campaign could also be a thing (where the players have to have a main group together to continue the plot) likely granting a chance at rare items, or at worst locking the party from going to other dungeons until the story quest is complete.

It seems you really want the party to head after the Jester, but at the moment there is far more reasons not to.
As mentioned, some of the persons here minus jaiden since he does work in cybersecurity but would risk being banned don't really have a decent chance to stand up to the guy or away to achieve it which is why Jaiden wanted to avoid conflict with them earlier. The motivation for going after the Jester is a little low.

A simple solution I would see to tie them together would be blackmailing the doxxed players.
Perhaps giving a list of demands, which does force the group to generally stay together, in turn Jaiden receiving an online "bounty" on the guy. The alternative of Doxxing Jaiden would be less likely, and may have his job actively ban him from playing said game in turn for a full investigation
Or corrupting/threatening to corrupt character ID's...

Depending the Jester could be pissed off that they may have not received the artifact, or at least a fully functional one.
As Goibniu's automaton could have damaged or even broken it, which I don't think was noticed. Leading to the Jester needing to manipulate or otherwise hunt down the party again, whilst being looked out for, or needing to manipulate a situation to buy or trade the artifact indirectly from the party. If they try to trade it, they would need to bring something to the table and possibly reveal more of their own motivations.

It'd probably be less invasive to have the Jester be a background or reoccurring threat otherwise. Such as them paying other players to PK the party, and thus making dealing with Jester (or their midway guy) more pertinent. But that's more of a tightrope (don't want to overdo it), because... as a player, that could raise the chances of just, quitting tbh. So it'd have to be annoying but not overwhelming, probably more of a villain of the week type of deal.

A vision of a card would flicker in and out of Aread's mind. He wanted to search for, someway to escape this situation. Someway to slip out, and his mind would drift between a vague image of..., some creature, to an odd transparent outline. A card would appear briefly inside of his hand as well as he reached out for it.
He gripped tight onto the image in his head, and in the card in his hand.
Shattering the card into some form of mystical ether.

Aread would vanish from sight entirely. Using The Shadow.
He would turn translucent at first, and then would vanish from sight entirely.
Looking around, he didn't feel much different and his surroundings didn't seem to change.

"Spy kids are classic movies. As for Brutal legend it's a bit more a cult classic video game series about being pulled into another world by a magic belt to fight demons if I remember correctly. It has a lot of inspiration from the metal genre-."

"Isekai... that sounds like one of those ani-moo type of deals, yeah?"
He struggled and rubbed at the bottom of his chin. Still quite invisible, but he was fairly audible.
He could still be heard if was making a decent amount of noise, talking being an obvious way to be noticed.

Once the groaning got too close, Aread would ready his staff. He might need to swing on a monster.
Only to see a person shuffling toward them. This game was a paranormal one, so it didn't seem out of the question that zombies might be around. In truth, just about anything goes in this situation. A bleak town with zombies in it didn't seem out of the question.

"Suuuure."
Aread would state.
Despite not being visible, his tone conveyed a cautiousness to it.
As he would approach toward the stumbling guy with his staff raised defensively.
GO. FOR. IT.
Lol
In truth, I was going to say 'yes'.
But not I'm tempted to say 'no'. Having the world function more naturally as the two are brought into it vs fully game perspective per say.

So, NPCs can do full dialogues, instead of pre-made options, etc.

and if you'd like to take over the source of the groaning noises.
Go for it.

Jaiden long figured that the group was going to report the Jester to the GM's. Just going along with it while opening up another tab in the background. He may need to anonymously e-mail some data logs later on in the day to the Admin's or Devs, but for now he'd hold off going too far down the rabbit hole.
The game was for fun, not work. At least not yet.

Team Chat:

Claudia: Social Media? Why? I do have one, but I'm not sure I'm comfortable sharing. No offense, I just like to keep IRL and Endoroth separate.

Elian: Yeah, I have ChaosX. I'm Elian over there too. Why?

[row][cell]
Goibniu_The_Waylander: No offense taken. Essentially was going to have a group chat of sorts to help recover any items or equipment that may have been lost in the encounter. As for the Jester, yeah he's been going around and apparently attacking raid parties. Soon as he was spotted, was afraid the writing was on the wall except to save what could be done. From a couple forum posts GM's are pretty much after any lead on him. Although the situations being so brazen & blatant makes me wonder how they're messing with the Player ID, to not be banned or flagged.

Goibniu_The_Waylander: As for running the dungeon again, maybe? We didn't check out the courtyard much, or what was beyond the other door or so. Although, have to assign some skill points and all that before we go. So wouldn't hurt to stop by the quest hall, maybe get some more details or spread more eyes on the guy, and perhaps see what story arc or lore the quest is specific too? It seemed kind of weird that a person that's more often seen around large group or whale players would go to a mid-range dungeon. So figure the item is part of some... set or something for their employer, or guild head

[/quote]
Goibniu_The_Waylander: Don't think it's a good idea to head after the guy again though. Probably more trouble and trolling than it's worth, since don't know what we could really do if we did encounter them unprepared.

A friend request would be sent to Elian in the background on ChaosX. It was by someone named Aerial-TYM-3.
Jaiden was also running things and verifying a couple of files in the background. Although, such might not be needed given their upcoming encounter with the Admins.
He wasn't particularly as interested to chase the Jester character down at the moment though.

Goibniu had been set to auto-follow Elian the whole time. Since the player had been switching between a couple other things in the background. It didn't slow down his typing much at all though. But it may be a bit obvious, that Goibniu wasn't moving normally, just following along. Not quite unlike his own Automaton would unless given different commands. Jaiden was searching through data packets in the background.

He wouldn't speak with his mike as the admins appeared though. Instead opting to type again.

General Chat:

Goibniu_The_Waylander: The Jester was in the temple of Ocren to grab the artifact for their employer or something along those lines. If you saw a child character, it might be them involved if there's no NPCs to match it. Chance of them being a halfling, or a gnome? Either way, seems like the guy might be be more than a lone actor.
Goibniu_The_Waylander: Yeah, another artifact would be great. As for running the dungeon again, uh... guess I'd be down. But that's up to everyone else too.

Goibniu would give the rest of the group a chance to add any other details, and perhaps the quest name.
Having an Admin provide over another artifact would work well enough for him. Although it may be entertaining to do another dungeon run, not particularly for the items but simply for the game play.
Straight to the medlabs do you'll stop being sus
I'm putting you back in the medbay
A tall but lanky man would climb up the side of the mountain huffing too himself. He wore commoner's clothing, and carried a mop along his back. As the rain had began to pour down, it seemed to just barely avoid or move around him. As the water wouldn't touch his clothes, nor his skin and instead floated away off him from an invisible field about half inch off his body.

Seeing the fight going on, he looked rather confused at the situation. He hadn't seen the entire situation transpire, nearly that Ali was holding a sword out in the open against another person. He was wary, and a bit more concerned about her.
He would end up pulling the mop off his back.

"What's going on here?"
