My blade carries with it the harsh frost of the wintry winds. Dancing with the rage of a blizzard, its speed matches the transience of an icy petal.

Welcome traveler. I see you've stumbled upon my profile, nice to meet ya.

Roleplaying
I originally joined this site several years back, having gotten my feet wet only recently at that point as an RPer. I was recommended this site by a pal of mine (@PaulHaynek) and joined a couple of his RPs. However, due to RL stresses I had to take a break from the world of RPing and took sometime for self-reflection. After a 2 year absence, I'm back in saddle and ready to further stretch my creative muscles. As for what roleplays I like, I enjoy anything action-oriented. I'm fine with any settings for the most part, though I'm more inclined toward the magical and sci-fi. Also, I've gained a sort of preference for RPs that allow users to play as multiple characters, but solo is fine either way. Here's a list to give a better idea of my tastes.

- Fantasy/medieval
- Dystopian
- Steampunk
- Sci-fi
- Apocalypse/Post-Apocalyptic
- Generally anything anime/manga related
- Adventure and Combat oriented
- Romance here and there is fine too

That's all for now, reader. If you decide to post an interest check for an RP idea, you just might find me posting a character profile ready to be reviewed. Don't be afraid to give me a shout if you'd like a Co-DM to bounce ideas off of as well.

Until then.

Closing the distance between them within a moment, Shizuka already had a hand at the miko's ofuda. However, as he would soon find out, a slightly more cautious approach should have been taken against the priestess. In another act of aggression, she ran her blade into the swordsman's side. He winced as his blood began to drip onto the ground, but fighting past the pain he tore the talisman from her chest with solemn determination. He would then find himself blown back from the resulting shockwave, though still conscious and aware of his surroundings. Witnessing the native warriors retreat, it seemed that the conflict was finally put to an end. Although, any feeling of relief Shizuka held combated the pain he felt from his stab wound. Ayu quickly came rushing to his side, her face full of worry.

"Geh. Don't worry, I'm fine. Trust me, I've been through worseā€¦." He said as he tried to ease Ayu's bewilderment. He held his side, applying pressure on the wound to ease the bleeding. He was about to use a bit of water and ice magic in order to clean the wound and prevent inflammation, but he then felt another presence make itself known.

It was a person dressed in strange, ragged robes. As her clothing fluttered in the wind, her body underneath was shown to be wrapped in peculiar scrolls. He could tell by the chi alone it was another undead mamono, also sensing she held powerful magic at her disposal.

She knelt down beside Shizuka, analyzing the wound. Ignoring her choice of words, he looked with curiosity as she gathered energy and began to heal his flesh. His wound was healed to the point where it didn't even appear that he was injured in the first place. Although, he took note that her spell seems to draw life from what's around her.

Now fully restored, the swordsman stood back up to meet with their new ally at eye level. He dusted himself off and honorably bowed before speaking to the yōkai who introduced herself as Io.

"You have my thanks, Io-san. Rather shameful of me, allowing myself to be injured in such a reckless manner. If not for you, I may have been stuck on the sidelines for a day or two! My name is Kannazuki Shizuka by the way, and it's good to see that Kyōko-sama had sent for more taskforce members."

He turned to Kerry for a moment, who fortunately caught the fleeing Varjan prisoner before he could escape.

"Kerry-san, it seems you were the first one to finish with your mission. Well met, in addition to recapturing our little friend there and assisting with the natives."

"Apologies Io-san, it seems you caught us at aā€¦precarious time. But with everything settling down, hopefully we can take a small respite while we wait for the other members to return."

While he was trying to lighten the mood after the battle, he couldn't help but wonder what the miko meant by refusing to believe the lies of the yōkai. She also earlier mentioned that the yōkai had taken much from them, more then they realize. What was the whole story, then?

Unknown Inn

@Restalaan

After beginning their trek back through the countryside, the group happened upon a trail of hoofprints that ultimately led to the Tokinomiya estate. Save for signs of a past skirmish, the estate was eerily empty. At that remained was the faint stench of dead; the chi Atsuha could sense mainly stemmed from the corpses of fallen warriors, most of which were from Soraeā€™s own clan. The scene made Hinami especially uncomfortable, fortunately the group quickly decided that there was nothing else of interest at the estate and the group continued to follow the trail of the assailants. After some time, they eventually found themselves facing a shabby inn on the side of a mountain. Standing in front of said inn were a few locals who held weapons on their sides, and they seemed to be discussing something. Motioning for her sister to follow her lead, she hid behind the innā€™s walls and began to listen in.

Unbelievable, she thought. It would seem that the assailants being fellow natives was true. They still couldnā€™t imagine why Soraeā€™s clan would be wiped out by their very own neighbors. Atsuha felt Hinamiā€™s chi start to stir a bit, not that she could blame her as she felt similarly. Thankfully, the flow still felt natural and Hinami seemed to still hold control over her mental state. After pondering for a moment, Atsuha turned to Skarsneek.

ā€œSkars-kun, what should we do here? I could knock them out with a quick spell or two, or tie them up with my web so we can interrogate them. Or perhaps you had something else in mind?ā€

@PaulHaynek@Rezod92@Ice Reaver

Shizuka was already prepared to be accused of being an incubus who laid with monsters at every given opportunity, so he rolled his eyes in his mind at his opponentā€™s statement. Though, he did raise a brow at Kerry after being called boyishly cute. Does that mean I look like a kid? He thought. He ignored it, however, and continued his charge.

Kannazukiā€™s plan worked, the mikoā€™s ofuda shielding was destroyed and he was able to deliver three simultaneous strikes. Phasing back in front of her, he saw that his attack may have been a bit too effective. She collapsed onto a knee, having to use her sword to prop herself up. He didnā€™t want to take things that far, but the situation was rapidly deteriorating and needed to end now. In spite of her injuries, the miko didnā€™t seem like she was giving up just yet.

Taking out yet another talisman, she placed it on her collar area and began chanting some sort of spell. He could already sense that her chi flow was unbalancing at an alarmingly high rate, her veins becoming visible. Was she actuallyā€¦.?

Kerry seems to have sensed it as well, and exclaimed at the miko to cease her foolishness. Echoing his words from earlier, she stated again that theyā€™re here to help. Unfortunately, the island warriors have proved time and again that words simply will not reach them. Refusing to watch this scene play out any longer, the swordsman immediately rushed at the miko.

ā€œEnough!ā€ He exclaimed as he sprinted toward her, already at her throat - determined to pull that talisman off of her collar.

@Restalaan

Atsuha made a huff at Soraeā€™s cold reply, and even Hinami at this post was getting rather tired of the harsh treatment.

ā€œSorae-san.ā€ Hinami started. ā€œThe only thing weā€™re asking of you is to lend us your strength. Why must you be so ā€“ ā€ Atsuha put a hand to her little sister, signaling to cut her sentence off there. At this point it was obvious to see that further argument on this topic was pointless. They were honestly lucky they got this far with her.

ā€œTaking over your island is the least of our concerns right now. Weā€™ll simply take our leave for now and do our part in finding whoever it is that took your family from you. Whatever fate we choose for them, we will make sure they answer for their crimes. Please, take care of yourself on your way Sorae-san.ā€ Atsuha said, as she bade a solemn but sincere farewell to the lone warrior. ā€˜

The Hangai sisters allowed Skarsneek to lead the way, making sure to keep a close eye out for any indicators as to the whereabouts or the identity of the Tokinomiya assailants. Atsuha made sure to pick up any trace amounts of residual chi in the environment that would no doubt help in their hunt. Hinami, being a yōkai, could naturally pick up on chi as well. But, she had to admit that her elder sister was much more skilled at it. She instead opted to be at the ready for a possible skirmish.

@FrogRFlowR@LuckyBlackCat@Shiyonichi

Setsuko listened intently as her peers introduced themselves, though it seemed that Kana wasnā€™t awfully impressed with her flashy intro. It made her heart sink a bit, she had to admit. She stayed up almost all night coming up with the words and practicing the posing. The least you could do is say cool or wowā€¦ She said to herself.

Before the pleasantries could continue, however, Setsuko received a tug at her cloth from Yui. Looking in the direction she was pointing, she quickly sensed a dark energy brewing. Erupting from the shadows was a massive shade, numerous yellow eyes covered its body and orange liquid dripped from its tendrils. Her fellow magical girls quickly began their attack, with Ukiko and Yui launching their spells at the creature. Kana also followed suit, sending sharp water javelins its way.

ā€œYes! Time for a combination super!ā€ She exclaimed. Generating scarlet wings on her arms, Setsuko quickly took to the air overhead and began conjuring powerful flames.

ā€œFell creature born from the darkness of the heart, you will be judged by the flames of indignation! Repent and dissipate as you are enveloped by the vermillion light!ā€ After her melodramatic speech, she let loose a large bird-shaped fire blast at the beast. ā€œMarch of the Vermillion Sparrow!ā€ She yelled.
A Yuki-onna, huh? Nice.

It'd be nice to have members of the taskforce who are more levelheaded. *Looks at Tomi*

The swordsman wasn't surprised that his ice barrage was nullified, it was mainly supposed to be a distraction anyway. He appeared above her head and prepared to attack with Kogarashi. However, as Shizuka's strike was about to hit its mark, he felt a strange sensation hit him. The magic he had built up had completely vanished, but he felt no pain and the physical aspect of the technique remained uninhibited. The miko was certainly no pushover, though, as she dodged his slash with a graceful step and countered with one of her own. Shizuka quickly recovered and brought his blade to his side to defend against the strike, the clash caused his bang to sway a bit. She wasn't done yet, however, as she quickly shifted her attack into a kick delivered straight to his face. Ouchā€¦

Worse over, the swordsman was able to witness the perfume-wearing prisoner making his escape. Godsdamn perfect, as if he needed any of this right nowā€¦

But, right now he needed to focus on the shrine maiden and magic nullification abilities. His expression was sharp, but composed as he rubbed the bruise her kick had left. "As expected, you are quite skilled. Being able to react to my speed is no easy task." He said as he held his blade out so that the tip was pointed horizontally from his side. "I can't afford to hold back too much, so I don't have much of a choice." It seemed that Shizuka was prepping another technique, but didn't seem to be channeling his chi. Given what he now knows, why would he? He would use Butōsen to deliver countless slashes to where her ofuda would be obliterated, then immediately follow-up with Tōhōfū Kari to strike her from three different angles. He felt that would also be a good way to deal with another counter she had up her sleeve.

This plan was briefly interrupted when the buzz of a fellow task force member could be heard closing in. It seemed that Kerry was the first one done with her mission, unfortunately she arrived in time to see the small skirmish that had brewed while she was away. Her response was a natural one.

"Forgive me, Kerry-san, but I don't have time to explain. Please do what you can to help quell this conflict quickly." He said without even turning to her.

He then instantly charged at the miko to execute his plan. Like before, his aim is to incapacitate and not to kill. Hopefully this would put a stop to this madnessā€¦

Tokinomiya Estate

@Restalaan @FrogRFlowR

The Hangai sisters listened intently as Sorae explained her situation further; Atsuha clammed up a bit when the Shizuyaman warrior rejected her empathy. She guessed she shouldnā€™t be surprised that she can still hold on to her prejudices even in a circumstance like this. Hearing her remark that being the last remaining member of her clan is nothing to be thankful for clammed her up even more. She felt she was being insensitive without even realizing it at first; Atsuha thought that she may be able to relate to Sorae, but their situations arenā€™t quite the same. Afterall, the Hangai clan was still around. At least, as far as she knew.

Her eyes flared up a bit when Skarsneek mentioned they could act as meat shields. Iā€™m no oneā€™s meat shield except my sisterā€™s thank you! And, maybe yoursā€¦I supposeā€¦ she silently said to herself, blushing a bit.

Skarsneek tried his best to convince her, but she simply wouldnā€™t accept their aid, going on about some kind of code among the natives. Hearing that she would find the assailants and avenge her clan herself was enough for Atsuha to finally break her silence.

ā€œAs Skars-kun stated, our directive here is to defend the island from the Varjans and assist its people in any way we can. We will continue our mission independent of your word or otherwise. Also, as Takeshi-san requires your aid and we are currently working with him, what has affected you also affects us as well. This isnā€™t just your problem anymore, and I donā€™t know what you hope to accomplish on your own.ā€

Hinami thought it best to remain silent, but supported her comrades' pleas for Sorae to accept their aid, gazing at her with a solemn expression.

@PaulHaynek

The miko gave her response by attacking the ronin with an enchanted ofuda. Ayu deflected the attack before it reached him, and he had taken note of her nōdachi. The fact that she could wield such a long blade efficiently was impressive.

She too did her best to diffuse the situation, but she had no greater luck.

Of course she didnā€™t believe his words.

Of course she would call him little more than a deceiver.

Of course she would choose to engage in combat rather than listen to reason. It was always the godsdamn same here.

Heā€™s already heard all too much about this landā€™s relationship with yōkai, he did so from Kyōkō-sama even before the taskforce members had gathered. Even so, seeing the way these people acted while their real enemy continued to kill and pillage, it frustrated Shizuka. It was ridiculous to presume that a people would up and throw away their lifelong ideals, but did they have no sense of time and circumstance?

He noticed that the other survivors had gathered around to join in the skirmish, throwing more enchanted seals at Sam and Valeriya. They quickly countered and began engaging them. He was especially worried about Sam, but unfortunately he couldn't focus on him right now.

He turned his attention to the maiden in front of him, his expression a combination of frustration and somberness.

ā€Your prejudice blinds you to the truth. Were the yōkai the ones who slaughtered your allies on the beach in cold blood? Were they the ones who even now continue to murder your people and take your lands as their own? If fighting is the only thing that will make you see reason, then so be it.ā€

Shizuka quickly gathered chi around his hand, and an icy wind began emanating from it. Holding out his hand in front of the approaching miko, he fired a barrage of sleet at his foe. This was mainly to deal with the ofuda coated in magical flames that floated around her. He would then phase above her head, sword already drawn.

The first technique he used was Mizore, the second one he would use would be Kogarashi - a vertical spinning attack. His goal wasnā€™t to kill her, of course, just to immobile her with the shock of force and freezing energy generated by his combination attack. Unless she had an unforeseen counter.

@Restalaan @FrogRFlowR

It seems their words reached the dame warrior, as she removed her weapon's blade from Hinami's neck. Hinami made a small gruff when pushed by the blunt end of the naginata, however, which Atsuha took slight offense to.

Her attitude quickly changed, though, after hearing the tragic tale of how her clan was decimated by assassins before they could assist the fight at Sanjo Beach. That would explain the intense sorrow she saw in her eyes earlier. The one particular part in her story where she explained that not even her little sister survived the attack, that one hit close to home.

"Sorae-san, I-I'm so sorry. Thank the gods that you survived, but the rest of your familyā€¦ Iā€¦I am at a loss for words." Atsuha said.

Before she could continue, however, Tomi apparently thought that now would be a good time to throw a temper tantrum. She let loose a powerful burst of flame breath that completely destroyed the ruins of a nearby building. The dragon then in her own way cosigned with Hinami and Skarsneek and opted to drop the hostilities so that a proper discussion could be held. Why say that after destroying a structure? She thought. Sorae didnā€™t seem to mind, however, and began leading them towards the estate. It annoyed Atsuha that Tomi seemed to be more concerned with taking a nap than actually taking heed of the situation.

ā€œWhatā€™s your problem?! You couldā€™ve burned down the entire forest doing that! If you're so damn determined to take a nap, then go to sleep already! The adults can have an intelligent discussion in peace at that point!ā€ Although her outrage may have very well staved off any attackers, the needless disregard for the environment was something the spider was not on board with.

ā€œNee-san, letā€™s not fight. Thereā€™s more pressing matters to address.ā€ Hinami said, attempting to calm her sister.

Upon following her to her room, Skarsneek asked Sorae if she had any insight as to why traitors would attack her clan or who sent the assassins. Atsuha saw that the goblin was sitting where he could quickly defend her and her sister should anything happen. While she appreciated the gesture, she was more worried about him.

The magical girl wielding a large blade started freaking out as the other two fired their attacks, worried that they may inadvertently hit her fairy friend. Yeah, friendly fire was never fun, Setsuko recalls having lost many an online match due to such situations. Never play with randos , thatā€™s for sureā€¦

Hold up! Thereā€™s no time to think about that now, that poor little fairyā€™s in serious danger! Before Setsuko could react, however, it seemed that the attacks ended up hitting the shade as intended and the little fairy was safely freed. The girl holding the large sword, though relieved, was quite upset at the danger the other two posed to the little sprite. When Setsuko was asked who she was along with the others, she decided to follow suit with the magical girl who introduced herself as Ghostlight and give an extravagant preamble.

ā€œI bid you all a pleasant evening, fellow magical girls! Iā€™d first like to say that the tag team combo displayed earlier was most superb! Iā€™d expect nothing less from my fellow shade bashers. As for who I am, allow me to properly introduce myself.ā€

She puts a hand to cover her face as small flames of different colors emit from her.

ā€œI am the flames of indignation, guided by the light of the rising sun! I am the righteous light that guides the way to salvation and delivers swift judgment to the wicked! I am the wings of propriety that envelop the heavens with a hue of brilliant vermillion.ā€

The flames begin to sparkle more brilliantly and her hair begins to sway along with the show of force.

ā€œI am none other than the magical girl Crimson Wing! I will burn away the shade and bathe the innocent in the light of justice!ā€

She removed her hand from her face and stuck an overly dramatic pose, red wings had also appeared behind her from the embers that were emitting from her earlier. She probably thought she looked cool, but honestly she looked kind of like a dorkā€¦

Nailed it! She thought to herself.

@PaulHaynek@Dark Cloud

Arriving at the temple with Valeriya and Sam, along with having Kasseros in tow, Shizuka was greeted with the sight of refugees and injured fighters that contrasted the golden leafed trees that loomed over. He recognized some of the fighters from the beach a few nights ago. Good, they actually took my advice. Glad they made it out. he thought to himself. Upon stepping into the camp, they were met by the spy Ayu. Shizuka recalled Kyouko mentioning her in the report, she was the leader of her spies her on the island. She gave off a clear sense of urgently and her speech matched it. She confirmed that some of the survivors at the camp were indeed the defenders from Sanjo Beach, however, she was interrupted before she could go any further.

The shrine maiden he had spoken to earlier had noticed he arrived. More unfortunately, she also noticed that he had two mamono with him as well. Well...This was bound to happen eventually. He thought. At this point, it couldn't be helped. Still, this situation could take an even more worse turn depending on what Shizuka says or doesn't say.

"These yōkai are here to aid you in taking back the island from these invaders, as am I." He began, taking note of the other warriors drawing closer to the scene. "I'm well aware of your land's relationship with mamono, but right now the only threat to your island are the Varjans. You should know that it was these very same monsters that risked there lives in order save the people of Shizuyama."

"I am allying with these mamono, because of aforementioned reasons. So, what will you do? Will you allow us to save the lives of your people, or will you instead point your blades at those who would aid you?"

Tokinomiya Estate

@Restalaan@FrogRFlowR

Atsuha was a bit relived that Skarsneek seemed content with her and Hinami's reassurance, though she did still sense a bit of concern coming from him. Atsuha's new spell was working fine to quell her sister's more monstrous alter ego, but she still wasn't sure how it would truly effect her mental state. She was, however, confident that she could quell her and avoid harm to her allies and any innocents so long as she was near Hinami.

The Jorōgumo chucked as Skarsneek blew his tongue out at the high orc, she wondered why they hated each other so much. Perhaps due to some cultural differences that she simply wasn't privy to. Perhaps she could ask him later, when death doesn't lie around every corner.

The walk to the Tokinomiya Estate was rather pleasurable, Atsuha and even Hinami enjoyed the beautiful landscape. The elder sister hoped that the trek would further help calm her sibling's mind. Although, she could help but be distracted by Skarksneek's cheerful disposition, who was ahead of the party happily skipping along. Of course, the little dragon Tomi was also slugging with them as well. Atsuha had to admit that at first, she didn't like the idea of her coming along. It didn't bother her at this point, as it seemed Tomi had more interest in making Shizuka's life harder than making moves on the goblin. Which was a constant source of entertainment for her.

Their happy little walk was soon cut short as they neared the plateau of the estate. The scent of blood and weapons was thick in the air, and upon drawing closer to the estate corpses lined the area. Atsuha quickly sensed Hinami's chi contorting at the sight.

"Sister..."

"It's alright Hinami, stay close!" Atsuha quickly soothe her sister apprehension.

Upon inspected the bodies, the armor damage and wounds suggested that it was native weapons that cause this. But, how could that be? Were the people of Shizuyama fight amongst each other, in the middle of an invasion? None of this made sense.

Before she could ponder further, a hostile made themselves known. They started by striking at Tomi with a kick, she really wished that girl would pay more attention to their surroundings. Then she leaped behind Hinami with surprising grace and held a naginata to her neck. Hinami looked at her attacker but didn't move, her temperament neutral. Atsuha's, on the other hand, was beginning to boil a bit.

"Traitors?" The woman had confirmed her suspicions. "Look, whatever happened here, know that we come in peace. However, that may change if you don't get a damn thing away from my sister. Kindly remove your weapon from her and we can talk like adults, or I can break it in half and shove it someplace I don't think you'd like."

"Skars-kun, Nee-san, there's no need for this. We came here to aid these people, not to fight them!" Hinami quickly interjected. "You must be Sorae-san. As Skars-kun stated, we are here on Takeshi-sama's request and wish to aid in your fight against the invaders."
I've stopped by to say I am going to be dropping from this.

Understood. Sad to see you go, but as previously stated, if you ever decide to come back you'll be welcome with open arms.

A girl with long black hair wearing a long gray dress, topped with a dark coat was walking down a bustling city street. It was early evening and the sun was slowly setting on the horizon. The young lady was happily humming to herself, but still made sure to walk with a poised posture. She was holding a plastic store bag that had the logo of a local game store, the way she caressed the bag would signify it as being the source of her high spirits. She reached into the bag for a moment and pulled out its contents. It was a box that was decorated with what could only be described as 'wacky' artwork. It depicted several characters standing together adorning various poses, some of the characters had animal, demonic, and angelic properties. The supposed title of the contents could be seen on top of the box and read 'Lazeria: Eternum of Souls - Royal Edition'. It apparently was the latest entry in a series of RPG titles. The royal edition was an exclusive pre-order version that came with extra goodies, most notably was a 1:7 scale figure of the main heroine of the game.

Indeed, Setsuko planned to ensure she set aside time to pick up the game and still make it to her daily patrol. She looked at the package with starry eyes and a wide grin, very pleased she was able to obtain it on launch day. However, after a moment her blissfulness faded and her smile was replaced by a melancholic expression. "You know, this was one of our favorite franchises. We played all the entries to completion, and were even part of forums that were dedicated to the series, official and fan made. We'd talk about plot theories and character ships for so long our parents yelled at us to go to bed! You know, it really sucksā€¦" A tear began to run down from her eye and her hands trembled while still holding the box. "We promised we'd beat them all together, Wakaba, but nowā€¦"

She caught herself, remembering her new role. The danger of negative emotions was what she was to defend the innocent against!

"No, no need for that! Wakaba is always with me!" She said, holding her scarlet feather charm close to her chest. She remembered vividly when her fairy visited her, explaining the new power she'd be granted along with the responsibilities she'd take on. She'd lost something, but then gained something that gave her the strength to go on. Regaining herself, she reaffirmed her strengthened feelings with a nod and placed the package back in the bag.

"I'll beat it for the both of us, Wakaba. Count on it!"

Nerima Ward

The Vermilion Bird takes Flight!

The lush greenery of the countryside wasn't a new sight for Setsuko. She has family who lived in such areas that she visited from time to time. She much enjoyed walking on the dirt roads on moonlit nights, it reminded her of when she saw such areas in anime or video games. However, she also knew she couldn't let her guard down, taken in by the gentle night breeze or the gentle chirping of insects.

Shades.

The grotesque creatures born from the accumulation of negative energy. They reminded her of those shadowy things from the game that had a boy with a strange blade. What was the name of it again? Nevermind, she thought, now wasn't the time for that!

Speak of the Devil.

Ahead of her in the grass at 2:30, a shade had begun to form. This one had slowly taken on the form of a large lizard; it swayed its head about and hissed, revealing its long slimy tongue. When it finished forming it was roughly the size of a small car; it was complete with a long tail that it whipped across the grass, spraying little blades of it up everywhere. It rose up on its hind legs for a moment, briefly showing its sharpened claws.

Hmph, time to expose this scrub.

Flames of Indignation, rise forth and cast thy rage on the wretched.

Wings of Propriety, imbue me with your strength and envelop the heavens in your holy glow.

God of the Southern Sky, lend me your power!

Enveloping herself in a bright vermilion glow, Setsuko's appearance took a drastic change. Now dawning her magical girl attire, she struck an extravagant pose while shining embers rippled around her. "Yes, I nailed it!", she mused to herself. "They'll make an anime of me in no time!"

It would seem during her self absorbed monologue, the creature was already charging at her. Its countless beady eyes had their sights set on the fiery magical girl. Had her foolishness gotten her killed, was Setsuko's story already over?

Hardly. The wheel of fate was turning in her favor this time around.

The creature would find itself blown away by a sudden burst of flame right to its face, it roared hideously as it tumbled back. It managed to get back up on its feet, but the attack was still quite effective. The creature had part of its face singed off, revealing its orange insides along with dripping black goo on the ground.

"Just rushing in and not expecting a counter hit? No wonder you're stuck in the lower ranks."

It was impossible to tell if the creature could understand the jab or not, but regardless it began its charge again. "You're seriously going to try the same tactic again? This is why fighting scrubs is no funā€¦"

Instead of blasting the shade, Setsuko gracefully leaped to the air to avoid its jaws. At this point her arms had become brilliant wings, allowing to remain airborne. "You really need to learn better mixups." She continued to taunt the lizard.

Not missing a beat, her leg turned into a fiery talon, which she used to deliver a powerful kick to the shade back. "Sparrow Kick!" She exclaimed, the creature made another yell at the searing pain. It rolled over on its side.

"You should stop rolling so much, makes it easier for me to oki!" Setsuko decided she had enough playing around, it was time to end this.

Not letting the shade get up for another time, Setsuko began channeling energy into her wings, their aura glowing more and more intensely. ā€œDisappear with the flames! Incandescent Purification!ā€ Setsuko pushed her wings out forward and let loose a large burst of combustive energy that completely engulfed the shade. The creature one last weak roar before being engulfed completely. After the attack had finished, all that remained of the shade were charred blobs and outlined cinders on the ground. Claiming victory, Setsuko slowly descended down to the ground and inspected her kill. Seemed like it was all over.

ā€œYes! Perfect EX Finish!ā€ She exclaimed, quite pleased with herself.

Still, she wasnā€™t expected to run into one this large here. Usually the shades in this area were small fry, wonder what caused this oneā€™s birth? A disgruntled couple, unhealthy household, a group of angry kids? No matter, it was over now, he wouldnā€™t be hurting anyone.

Before she had more time to ponder, she sensed more magical energy stirring, not just another shade but more magical girls as well? She knew of others like her in her general vicinity, and it seems like they were engaging opponents of their own. She took one last look at the shade she defeated as its remains began to fully dissipate. She then promptly made her way to where the energies were gathered to assess the situation.

Upon arriving at the scene, she saw that they were three other magical girls, two of them looked younger than her. The shade seemed to have gotten a hold of what appeared to be a fairy, probably belonging to one of the other girls. Two of the girls were already letting loose their attacks on the shade.

Not wanting to interfere with their tag team attack, Setsuko decided to remain on standby in case they needed more backup.
