My blade carries with it the harsh frost of the wintry winds. Dancing with the rage of a blizzard, its speed matches the transience of an icy petal.

Welcome traveler. I see you've stumbled upon my profile, nice to meet ya.

Roleplaying
I originally joined this site several years back, having gotten my feet wet only recently at that point as an RPer. I was recommended this site by a pal of mine (@PaulHaynek) and joined a couple of his RPs. However, due to RL stresses I had to take a break from the world of RPing and took sometime for self-reflection. After a 2 year absence, I'm back in saddle and ready to further stretch my creative muscles. As for what roleplays I like, I enjoy anything action-oriented. I'm fine with any settings for the most part, though I'm more inclined toward the magical and sci-fi. Also, I've gained a sort of preference for RPs that allow users to play as multiple characters, but solo is fine either way. Here's a list to give a better idea of my tastes.

- Fantasy/medieval
- Dystopian
- Steampunk
- Sci-fi
- Apocalypse/Post-Apocalyptic
- Generally anything anime/manga related
- Adventure and Combat oriented
- Romance here and there is fine too

That's all for now, reader. If you decide to post an interest check for an RP idea, you just might find me posting a character profile ready to be reviewed. Don't be afraid to give me a shout if you'd like a Co-DM to bounce ideas off of as well.

Until then.

Lucrecia scowled a bit, she strongly felt that Viatrix should've saw to the child first. Then again, Lyssa was the daughter of the woman who signed her pay checks. She continued to listen as she explained that she was indeed originally from Cogsfell, and what events transpired prior to meeting her and Polina. "Your parents can rest peacefully now that you're safe with us, Amor." She said. Before she could continued, the aforementioned daughter came bursting out of the back room.

Merda. That's the second one to refer to me by that silly name... She silently groaned.

"I am joyed to see you in good health and high spirits, Madonna." She said, slightly chuckling as the doctor lightly conked her on the head. "It is nothing serious, thankfully. Just a few scrapes to the back; I'm more concerned for Akantha here.: She looked at the rescued girl, gently rubbing her shoulder.

Promptly following Viatrix into the backroom with Akantha in tow, the two were fully healed by her magics. After they were cleared, Lucrecia took Akantha with her to the mess hall. No doubt the others were finished cooking by now, and she was sure that the little one was famished. Lyssa also made her way there, chowing on unfinished pastries and being yelled at by Leoniya. "I wonder if the boss used to be like that in her youth?"

It was morning and a few days had passed since the operation at Cogsfell. Lucrecia did her part to ensure that Akantha was acclimated to her new life at the Maison, provided she wasn't pulled away to assist with other duties as per her station. A small part of her that perhaps it was best she not wear her heart in her sleeve and not fall slave to her maternal instincts. This was job after all, and business always came first.

She noticed Leoniya and Myrilla barking orders at another squad of maids, thankful that it wasn't her for a change. Lucrecia did her part to ensure that everything was in order for Lady Fiore upon her return. She looked to where Rosanna was talking with someone; as another magically inclined coworker Lucrecia was naturally curious about her. But, something Rosanna said that she managed to catch made her eyes widen.

A demon was joining the Maison as a fellow worker?! She exclaimed to herself.

Kazenosuke, The Dancing Blade

@PaulHaynek@Crowvette@Nakushita

Kazenosuke's House

Before making his, two members of the taskforce had went up to the swordsman - the Lich Io and the little Oni Yuki. Giving a hand gesture of appreciation toward Lady Kikyo, he turned to face his two mamono allies. "Io-san, I'd be grateful for your presence." He said, with a friendly smile. He then turned to Yuki, who had sprinted to catch up with the two. "Greetings. I believe your name is Yuki, yes? I don't think we've been formally introduced. My name is Kannnazuki Shizuka, the appointed captain of the taskforce. I certainly wouldn't mind having another ally on this quest. Hopefully nothing too extraneous happens during our excursion." While the swordsman was still smiling, he made a peculiar squint at the Oni girl. "I'm quite familiar with your kin, little miss, and am aware your your, "hobbies", we'll call them. While I do my part in respecting mamono nature, I also humbly request that you remain on your best behavior, Yuki-chan. Currently, due to recent circumstances, I'm not in much of a mood for shenanigans..." Shizuka's tone was still friendly, but it carried with it and underlining sternness. A foreboding of sorts, if you will.

--

Walking along the trail outlined by Lord Takeshi, it wasn't long before the trio had reached the part of the woods the fabled dancing blade made his home. Upon approaching, Shizuka sensed several chi signatures. Four of them in total. Three of them had a rough in violent air about them - Varjans. He was familiar with the general feel of their aura, it wasn't particularly pleasant. Of the three of them, one clearly stood out, upon closer inspection it was coming from the Man wearing what looked to be a dog muzzle... Judging by his chi, was someone of considerably skill. 'This could be troublesome.' He silently thought. The fourth signature belong to a native who wore garb similar to his own, standard for a ronin. That was obviously the man they were looking for, Kazenosuke. His chi was as calm as the gentle wind around them, yet as sharp as a deadly torrent. As expected of an arguable kensei; As Shizuka continued to monitor the situation, he say they appeared to be conversing with one another. "Io-san, Yuki-chan, less hang back for a moment.
"
He said, motioning for them to halt.

From what he caught of their conversation, it sounded like the masked Varjan were attempting to have Kazenosuke join them. "They must be doing that with the other locals..." It made sense, many of the locals have been utterly hostile to the taskforce since they arrived. One even stabbed him at the temple... Thankfully, it didn't seem that the other swordsman was willing to bite, and told them to leave. As they did, Kazenosuke stood there in silence. He didn't seem to notice them yet, not that they needed to hide anymore regardless. "You two, let's make ourselves known. Sometimes the best way to reach someone is directly. But, perhaps it'd be best if you two kept your distance. The locals still haven't taken to mamono yet." He informed them. Shizuka was also curious about this Lord Serek'uar that was briefly mentioned. Was he some sort of commander among the Varjans?

Walking out from the trees, Shizuka made himself known in front of the fellow vagrant. "Hail there. Apologies for appearing before you so suddenly, but I was attempting to look for you." He started. "My name is Kannazuki Shizuka, I am a ronin who was tasked by a benefactor of the Oja clan to assist in driving back the Varjan invaders. We've come to inform you that both Hideo-dono and his son Takeshi-dono are alive and well, and we've been assisting the latter for the past few days in gathering more allies for the cause. We were hoping you would lend your blade to our cause. Ah..." He paused for a moment, checking Kazenosuke's mood to confirm we they stood with him.

"Also, if you don't mind me asking, who were those men you were speaking with just now? In addition, Takeshi-dono was wondering why you didn't join the battle on Sanjo Beach days ago."

Yurine the Death Keeper

@PaulHaynek @The Irish Tree @Hammerman @Restalaan @Enkryption

Kozukata Cemetery

Seeing Yurine prep herself for battle, Atsuha quickly tried to diffuse the situation. "Yurine-san, wait! The three who are coming mean no harm!" Finally coming into view, Gringor, Liliana, and Alice had arrived to the cemetery. Although, one would find it a bit odd that Gringor has walking on all fours, sniffing the ground like a boar. 'Did he trek all the way here like that?" She thought. Perhaps even stranger was Liliana riding to the scene atop a...cow? She rode the cow like it was a stallion! Even more, Alice was completely naked. Liliana held her on her side like a rag doll, implying that the mad hatter may not have come her by her own choice. The sight...honestly raised Atsuha's spirits. The comical scene that played before them made her chuckle a bit, and having more allies show up was never a bad thing. "Yes, Yurine-san, indeed they are. We apologize for the intrusion, but the more the merrier they say, haha." She mused to the gravekeeper.

The brief moment of levity was cut short, however, as a threatening voice made itself known to the gathered allies. Two native warrior groups made their presence known to the taskforce. There had to be at least two dozen of them in all, three of them in particular demanding that Yurine abandon them and liberate the island on their own terms. "How did they happen upon us without me noticing them? I couldn't sense a thing..." She said. Yurine explained that the three fighters were known as Dragon warriors. They were trained to specifically deal with yokai, and were resistant to demon realm sliver and monster magic. If It had been just Yurine, Skarsneek and Atusha, they more than likely would've fallen here...

Yurine stepped up and defended the yokai, saying they were allies of Takeshi and reminding them of their place. This did little to sway, as expected, they brandished their blades to attack. "Curse it all!" Exclaimed Atsuha. Taking some of the materials that the death keeper provided, Atsuha shot a rope of web past the three dragon warriors. She ensnared a few of the grunt fighters behind them, the talismans attached to the rope draining their mana. If her plan was successful, she bludgeoned the dragon warriors with some of their allies.

In the midst of all the fighting, an eerie glowing gushed forth from behind the combatants. Hinami, now awakened, was standing in a slanted and unnatural pose with her arms hung to the side. Her claws were elongated and her sharp fangs were bared. The sigil that her sister placed on her head had glowed intensely before it shattered like glass, the pieces falling and dissipating barely before they hit the ground. With an inhuman wail, her aura caused dust to blow past everyone present. A look of sheer bewilderment took over Atsuha as she turned around. "Hina-" Her sentenced was cut short as Hinami had bit into one of the spearman from the crowd. She moved with such speed that most present couldn't perceive it.

"Chi..." She uttered in a disturbing voice. "Hunger...want...chi!!!" The warrior began to grow pale as she further sucked the lifeforce out of the man. After she was done feeding, she smacked the man to the side with great force, who was sent tumbling several times over. A swordsman attempted to slash at her head, only to have the blade be caught by the Jiangshi's teeth. With little effort, she bit the blade into bits, the sound of shattering metal reverberating across the field of graves. Before the fighter could react, Hinami threw herself at the man and sank her fangs into the side of his neck, claiming her next victim. She then moved to the next, and would continue to do so until she was stopped or absorb the lifeforce of everything around her. The taskforce would have to be careful on how to approach the feral Hinami, as it was doubtful that she could distinguish friend from foe. However, perhaps they could also use the chaos her rampage was causing to their advantage.

ZoHo Marsh - Deep Woods

@Enkryption@Polaris North@The Irish Tree NPC(s): Lapis

Scarlett wasted no time in quickly subduing and going as far as devouring the now deceased creature. Her alchemic body altering made strong work of it, though attempting to apply Nadia’s principles to her own abilities seemed to have backfired. Being left in a vulnerable state, she would soon be met with more of the beast’s kin coming from the lake. Thankfully, the familiars that Shavis and Hector sent out alerted them to the danger that plagued the scarred alchemist. Shavis was the first to move, her lightning manipulation being shown on full display as she left streaks in the ground with her speed. Having sent Shadar to further asset the rest of the perimeter, she perched on a branch atop a nearby tree to monitor Scarlett’s condition and take note of the situation. Hector, likewise, took up position a little further back and readied his rifle. His familiar Herne had slither along its chamber, acting to aid him in his sniping and acting as an extra pair of eyes.

Scarlett’s respite didn’t last long, however, as more makara quickly emerged from the pond and closed in to strike. Thankfully, the first few were pushed back by Shavis’s advance from above and Hector’s sniping, dealing a powerful blow to the creature with her magic-enhanced attack and Hector successfully hitting vital areas thanks to Herne’s aid. The repressant Shavis took earlier also made it easy for her to make some decisive surprise attacks. While this may have held them back for a moment, their numbers didn’t dwindle. With Shavis now out in the open with Scarlett, they soon found themselves being overwhelmed by the beasts. Perhaps it’d be wise for Shavis to call Shadar to her side. They would need to think of a plan fast, as more were coming from beneath the surface.

As the ripples and the bubbles neared the three Reavers, something finally jumped out of the swamp water.

"Help me!"

The thing from the water was no Makara, it was a person! Although, dressed in black garbs and wearing suspicious red-tinted goggles, to say he was an odd fellow would be an understatement. In his hands were eastern swords which he used to slash down a Makara that jumped after him. He then turned to the Reavers, and was a bit startled with what he saw. "Whoa! Who are you guys?! No, that doesn't matter now. We've got a ton of these glorified piranhas coming here. We've gotta get rid of them if we want to get anywhere!" The black-garbed warrior readied for the coming onslaught. "Here they come!"

Hardly expecting the situation to take this turn, they hardly had time to ponder as it grew more extraneous. Hector, despite having Herne increase his field of view, wasn’t able to deal with the group of beasts that managed to get past his two teammates. A couple began to scale the tree he had perched upon, attempting to claw and gnaw at him. Just then, a large tentacle had smacked them away, a loud thud echoed as they hit the forest floor. It was the familiar Hachigan, along with its master Lapis. ”Looks like we made it just in time!” She said. ”A barrier has successfully been made around the village. I sensed you guys could use some help, but who’s that weird guy with the red goggles?”

Realizing the situation she chose to forgo further pondering, and began to assist the other three in dealing with the beasts. Attempting to make use of her esper abilities, Lapis began to read the feelings of the reptilian beasts in order to calm them and see what may have been ailing them. She began to wince, holding her head as if it were in pain. ”Something’s…wrong with them! They’re feelings are full of delirium and rage! I-It’s like they can’t control themselves!”

”There's too many of them! We're getting swamped! Hah, get it? I know a place where we can have the home field advantage. Follow me!" Said the odd masked man. He was quite correct in his assessment. The group was getting overwhelmed and Lapis’s esper abilities were of no use. Cutting a path for them, the man threw a ball that exploded into a brilliant flash of light. This staved off the beasts long enough for them to make their escape. Eventually, the hooded man led them to a peculiar shack deeper within the swamp. Being led inside, the group would likely have some immediate questions. Aside from the strange chemical odor, they would also notice drums and beakers that seemed to be filled with strange substances.

”Wh-What’s with this place? What is all this?” Lapis said, clearly feeling sick from the air surrounding the hut.

Northeast Highlands - Thieves Hideout

@PaulHaynek@Silverstein@FrogRFlowR NPC(s): Evelyn

With Evelyn blasting away at the grunts and Leon taking them out from their blind spots, the group weren’t struggling too much with the marauders. A few went for Einer and Asterope, the former attempting to fend a few off with his brass knuckles. The Thunder Witch had little difficulty in zapping away her assailants with her devastating lightning attacks, however, Einer received a wound on his side after trying to land a punch on mech sword wielder. As the man attempted to deal a killing blow, a large blast of vermillion energy hit the man in the back, instantly sending him falling flat on the ground. ”You should be more careful, you’re a sitting duck like that!” Eve scolded the young bard.

Eve had managed to save Einer just in the nick of time, with her AOE attacks and maneuverability, the fledgeling witch was making quick work of their attackers. “Dammit, someone take that brat out!!” One of them yelled. At that point, a hooded man with a dark mask had emerged from the base. He was holding a peculiar purple orb in his hand. ”That’s enough shitting around, lads. We don’t have time for this.” The man had a gruff and unpleasant accent to his speech. ”Let’s see how you enjoy a piece of this!”

Holding up the orb, an eerie glow enveloped the vicinity they were all occupying. At that moment, Leon would find himself now completely visible to the naked eye. Eve, on the other hand, began falling from the sky. Her sudden fall was accompanied by an embarrassing yelp, splatting dead on the ground. Thankfully, she wasn’t that high up at the particular moment and only suffered some minor scrapes. ”Oww…” She whined. ”Bastard, burn to cinder!” attempting to fire another blast at the hooded man, she soon found that her magic had been significantly dampened. All that camefrom her hand was a small bolt of energy that quickly dissipated. ”H-huh?” She said, weakly.

”Compliments to the boys at Loghren! Have no fear boys, magus aren’t worth much without their precious little spells. Easy pickings.” He mused in a condescending tone.

”Oh…that’s right. That Donovan did mention something about a new device that did something like that…ha. Hahaha…” Eve weakly laughed. ”Oh crap…” More brigands came for the witch, attempting to slash at her with their swords. With a surprising amount of agility, Eve was able to dodge the slashes. She quickly turned her attention to the gun-toting attackers, getting to cover as quickly as possible to avoid the gunfire.

The reavers had their fighting power greatly diminished, however, so did the brigands. The magictech weapons they wielded no longer had their extra effects due to being in the anti-magic field. Although, they were still dangerous as regular weapons. Now on the defensive, the group would have to quickly find a way to deal with the hooded man and that pesky orb. Leon may have noticed Eve hunched behind the rock, holding her staff as if she intended to use it like a blunt weapon…

Western Plains - Ground Zero

@Hammerman NPC(s): Ruecian, Rozemyme

Summoning his water nymph and with her magical arrows, the Fae couple took out a decent chunk of the monsters on their end as well. Renee bought enough time for Rana to finish the prep for her spell. She then fired several bolts of light at a couple of the abominations. ”O Blessed Light, eradicate the unholy!” she uttered. She then turned to Renne, now with a calmer expression. ”Umm, thanks for that.” She said.

Rue and Roze, with their combination water/ice attacks, were making quick work of the other creatures coming for them. However, soon the magus present would feel a terrifying rumble coming from below the earth. Suddenly, a giant skeletal hand had erupted from the ground from where Rue and Roze were. Fortunately, they were quick enough to dodge it, for the most part. Roze was holding her side, with a bit of blood dripping from the wound. ”Shit! Roze, you ok?!” Rue said, running up beside her.

”I’m fine, it’s just a scratch…” She said, her expression telling a different tale.

As the ground further erupted, what appeared before the reavers was an enormous skeletal creature with sinister eyes. With a horrid bellow, its call beckoned more of the earlier creatures to sprout from the ground. Rue blasted them with torrents, but for every dozen he destroyed, a dozen more took their place. He spat a swear, and helped Roze to regroup back with the others. He looked at the creature, then looked back at the party.

”Funny, pretty sure this fucker wasn’t in the report that we received.” Ruecian spat at Rana. ”I-I’m sorry! I swear to you, that thing wasn’t here before. I have no idea what that thing even is!!” She exclaimed.

”Miasma buildup can lead to all sorts of grotesques appeari-guh!” Roze began to grow pale in the face, and her wound was slowly getting worse. ”Shit, miasma poisoning! Rana, look after Roze and get of that gunk that’s killing her!” He then turned to the Fae lovers and the nymph. ”We’re gonna need to combine our strengths if we want to make a dent in that thing, got it?! On me, we strike as one. Once Roze heals, we should be able to take it out in one go. Hold it off until then!”

Channeling azure mana around him, Rue began to conjure a shape beside him. The shape then became a large, blue serpent that was larger than the summon that Roze had called forth. ”Mizuchi to me!” He called out. ”Sublimate them.” He coldly said. His summon began blasting a large volley of icy breath at the skeletal beast and its disgusting minions, signaling for the couple to join in. Hopefully, their efforts would be enough to give Rana time to treat Roze’s wounds.

Terauchi Temple

Shizuka was still carrying the unconscious Alice with him as he exited the training grounds, he and the rest of the team present had emerged back onto the temple grounds. Taking in the natural air, Shizuka read the chi around him for a moment to note any changes since they had be gone. Along with Ayu, Yuki, the refugees and temple monks...and Kasseros, he immediately noticed the reading of a foreign signature. Someone new's been here. He said to himself. Of course, the utterly out of place tool bench setup to the side confirmed this as well...

More instances of outside technology the swordsman had no experience with. He could tell the chi over it belonged to a mamono, a species that wasn't native to this land. He supposed this was a good thing, they could use members with unique skillsets. Not to mention, Eula in particular could most definitely benefit from having someone like this around. He still felt bad about the last mission, in addition to how he treated monk who showed them the grave...

Ayu came up to them after a little bit, noticing the peculiar state the members were in. "The training went fine...sort of." He quickly replied. "The later part of it...let's just say that things started to get a little hectic. But, everything was put under control." He assured Ayu, who no doubt sensed the mamono chi that emanated from him. "I see that Takeshi-dono and some of the other team members have gone out." Before he could ponder further, Kikyo came riding up on a horse. Apparently her men acted on their own and made after the young lord. That sort of thing never spelled good news. She pointed at the sleeping Alice, demanding her aid in finding him. Well, she wasn't really sleeping anymore, having sprung to life at the woman's provocation. In an instant, Alice was standing on top of Kikyo's horse, with Carroll pointed at her. "You idiot! What are you doing?!" He exclaimed. He still hasn't had time to mentally settle after the training, so Shizuka wasn't really in the mood for anymore shenanigans. Gringor didn't help things, sniffing around like a dog to see where the others went. Kerry chose to ignore the scene entirely, spazzing out over the work bench setup. She acted as though she knew the maker of that workspace well, and immediately when off to find them.

Liliana was the next to enter the scene, having summoned yet another cow, and was riding it like a...horse? From the looks of it, She and an nonconsenting Alice had volunteered to ride to the young lord's rescue. With that, they rode off on the bovine into the distance. Gringor left in the same direction as well, still striding on all fours. He's right eye twitching, he simply didn't have the energy to process or question the scene. Only then did it occur to him that Alice was out in about while in the nude... Shizuka didn't actually nab her clothes when they exited the training ground.

He gave up, and simply trusted that they would be able to aid Takeshi should he need it. He honestly needed to take his mind off of recent events, perhaps going on another quest would put him back in his groove.

He decided to go after Kazenosuke the Dancing Blade, a ronin with a spinning blade that could deflect any attack and counter faster than the eye could see. Such an ally would be invaluable to the team, and Shizuka felt he had the perfect skillset to tackle the mission.

"Ayu, I'm heading off to find Kazenosuke. If anyone else wishes to join me, feel free to come along. I'm confident in my bladework, but other minds to bounce off of never hurt."

Atsuha looked at Yurine, who made her statement about the decision she had made. With a sober smile, Atsuha held a defeated expression on her face as she began to tear up. She placed a hand on Hinami's head, gently stroking it. "Perhaps...you are correct, Deathkeeper. There is no doubt that the only person who's benefitted from my selfish decision is me. I've cursed my sister to a path of self-loathing and feral hunger that she didn't ask for or deserve, and despite my supposed magical talents all I've been able to do is soothe her with pretty words and talismans that are as valuable as cheap medical gauze." While her eyes were covered by her ivory bangs, the stream of tears were visible for the world to see.

"But, if there's any form of empathetic equity in this wretched world, I would ask that it is only I that suffer for my decision. I don't see what form of meaning can be drawn from my sister knowing only suffering and dying before having a chance to find happiness, it may not have been my place but I didn't care. I saw fit that my sister deserved a second chance, and if given an opportunity I'd do it a thousand times over. I'd gladly suffer until time ends, but not her." Her hand no longer on Hinami, she was clenching it so hard blood began to sip from it. "Not her, she's gone through enough. She will be saved, and anything within your power you'll able to do, I will even give my own life if it can help!" The Jorougumo had broken down, eyes red with swelling and desperation.

"My sister isn't a monster, she is the kindest person who I know in this world. She's just a young woman who wants to be happy with other people. Please...save her..." It seemed Atsuha was pleading to the gods themselves, less so Yurine specifically.

It was pointed out that the others were taking long to gather the spider lilies than normal, and Skarsneek offered to go an check on them. "I won't leave my sister's side, I am grateful if you wish to go Skars-kun." She responded to her goblin betrothed.

She perked up a bit, at that point, sensing the chi of Alice, Liliana, and Gringor quickly closing in...

Walking over to Akantha, Lucrecia sat down beside her and gently stroked her shoulder, attempting to comfort her. "Worry not, little one. We're on our way back to the Maison de Fiore, where you'll be cared for safe and sound." She said in a kind tone. "Love, why don't chat for a bit? Tell me a little about yourself? Are you originally from Cogfell? What was life like before...all this happened? If there's anything you'd like to share withme, I'm all ears."

Lucrecia tried her best to give the girl dome attention, as she was sure she needed it. Too much happened to fast, and it was doubtful that she knew how to process any of it. She also wondered if Akantha had even been tended to yet.

"Has the doctor tended to you yet, Love? Are you feeling all right, does it hurt anywhere?"
Would I correct in assuming that an eventual Discord will be in the works?
