Bio

This is my second profile on here, and I have been Play-By-Post RPing for about nine years now. I do my best to see every RP to the end or at least let my character come to his/her own dramatic conclusion when I feel like signing off. Just like novel writing in real life, I tend to find myself on long hiatuses. Since writing is a great way to work out your brain, I try stay engaged as much as possible.

My favorite genres include futuristic worlds, mysteries, and super powers. Any mixture of these three elements will peek my interest.

I will post again in a couple days, summarizing Lee and Micheal's match, and leading into the Rica vs Eclipse match. Everyone feel free to post until then. Your character's thoughts and "out-of-frame" actions are welcome.

Alright everyone, I'm making another change to the exhaustion formula. I haven't used it yet, but I will be using it this way from this point onward. Again, this is all back end calculations that you don't necessarily NEED to know. But I figured I'd share anyways, because it might effect your strategies a little.

From now on, exhaustion for power spent on ATTACKS will be 30%; exhaustion for power spent on SPEED will be 20%; exhaustion for power spent on DEFENSE will be 10%.

I feel that this is more realistic, because ATTACKS should take the most energy, moving faster should take up more energy than holding your ground (but less than attacking), and DEFENDING should be the most economical way to spend your energy.

Also, I think I mentioned that if you had higher SPEED than your opponent, and you K.O.'ed them, then you wouldn't take any damage from their attacks. That is no longer the case. From now on, I will calculate damage done to both combatants fully. I will add the absolute value of the person that is furthest below zero to the health of the person that has more health remaining.

In other words, if one combatant has -20 and the other has -50. I will then add 50 back to -20, making that fighter's health actually be 30. Of course, whatever number this brings them to can't be above where their health started at before the exchange of blows.

Finally, exhaustion will be applied after all damage is calculated. This isn't new. I've already been doing this. I just wanted to point out that if you are left with 10 health (for example), you will technically "win" the battle. But then if your exhaustion is more than 10, your character will pass out. With this in mind, you might as well go all out in these tournament matches, because you can be brought back with a senzu bean and some treatment before your next match. BUT, once we pass this tournament, and we get into more "life-and-death" situations, you'll want to be more careful.

Again, all these calculations will be behind the scenes things, but if you have questions, let me know.

Round 2 Begins!!

Jackson stood his ground as Bakuto started creating his after images. He knew he was outclassed when it came to speed. So he readied himself. When Bakuto got close enough, he would land one decisive blow. At least, that was the plan.

-Serious Defensive Stance
-Secret Technique Decisive Blow
Remaining Health: 28
Available Power: 59
--- Attack: 40 x2.5 = 100
- Speed: 0
-- Defense: 19 x2 = 38

Jackson's kept his eye peeled on what he thought was Bakuto. When all the afterimages came in for the attack, he swung with all his might at the one he thought was real. Unfortunately, it was just that, an afterimage. The real attack came from behind, countless blows, all landing in critical zones.

Jackson was sent flying and tumbling. He landed outside the arena, bloodied and bruised. Luckily, he was near the building where the contestants were being held. The medical team arrived at his side in seconds and injected him with a syringe. His eyes immediately opened, then closed slowly as he fell to sleep. Then, they took him away. His life was saved, but he would need more than a senzu bean to get him back to 100% health.

The crowd remained silent long after Jackson was taken away. It wasn't until the referee held up Bakuto's hand that anyone clapped. Even then, there wasn't very much cheering. It was as if the entire audience was intimidated by Bakuto's power.
@BladeSS4

So I was wrong on the math in my last post. If you were to use your SERIOUS boost and a SECRET technique on the same stat. It would look like this technically. [ Speed + Speed + (Speed x 1.5) ]

So for your last post, the math would look like this... [ 60 + 60 + (60 x 1.5) ] ... or ... (120 + 90) = 210.

The 2.5 I mentioned before would be the quick way to calculate it, IF you didn't also use your SERIOUS boost on it, because (Speed x 2.5) is the same as [Speed + (Speed x 1.5)]
The 'secret' technique. This is things like Afterimages and general other special moves right?

Absolutely correct!

An after image technique would be an example of a Speed based technique.
Ki blasts and pump up techniques would be for attack.
Hardening defensive stances and ki shields would go for defense.

Secret techniques are NOT charged attacks like the Spirit bomb or a powered up Kamehameha. Although, a quick Kamehameha could be a secret technique.
@BladeSS4 On your next turn, you can reveal your Secret Technique if you like. A secret technique is like the serious boost, except, once you choose which stat it boosts, you can never change that. Also, it matters if your opponent has seen the attack or battled you when you used it.

If your opponent has never seen the technique, it will apply a x2.5 boost.
If they have seen it, but you haven't used it on them, it will apply a x2 boost.
If they have experienced the technique first hand, it will apply a x1.5 boost.

You can use your serious boost on the same stat as your secret technique, but it doesn't stack. The boost for both will be applied to the base stat number then added together. So if you put 50 on Speed and you use your serious boost on speed AND you use a Secret Technique that boosts speed by 2.5, your total speed will be 225, NOT 250.

@BladeSS4, If you choose to create your secret technique and use it now, you'll need to add it to your character sheet. But you might not want to do that yet. Once you use it in this tournament, everyone will have seen it, and it will go down in effectiveness in following rounds. I will be using my secret technique, in order to try and change the tide of the battle, but I doubt it will work. You did a lot of damage, during that exchange.

Do you have any questions?

Round 2 Begins!!

Jackson took a deep breath and watched carefully as Bakuto ran circles around him. 'Great, another speetster.' he thought to himself. And this opponent was on a whole other level.

He widened his stance and prepared himself for the attack that could come at any second. He didn't have to waste his energy. He could let his opponent come to him, and counter attack at the right time. Plus, there was no reason to try and compete with such speed. Years of training for close combat in an arena, there was never any need to focus on his speed.

-Serious Counter Attack
Remaining Health: 90
Available Power: 90
--- Attack: 50 x2 = 100
- Speed: 16
-- Defense: 24

When Bakuto decided to attack, Jackson was nearly overwhelmed. He could only block and dodge about half of Bakuto's attacks. The rest landed right on the mark. On the upside, he was able to land a number of attacks of his own.

Finally, Jackson jumped backward for a moment of rest. He was definitely worse for wear. The crowd was no longer shouting his name. They were having trouble processing everything they just saw.
@BladeSS4 My response will come tonight or early tomorrow.
@BladeSS4, it is now your turn. You can post everything your character has done or important thoughts he's had since last we heard from him. And you can either stop right before the gong sounds for this match (in which case, I'll make the first move) OR you can sound the gong and make the first move yourself. It's whatever you prefer.

Your opponent will have a power level of 90, while you will remain at 110. You can start your first move with a serious attack, if you like. After our first exchange of blows, I will introduce "Special Techniques" to the match.

Round 2 Begins!!

After the Angela vs Bonizo fight, there was a thirty minute break in the action. Half of the crowd filtered out of their seats to get refreshments or use the facilities. The other half remained seated, still glued to the spot by excitement. Everyone was talking about who their favorite to win the tournament would be and pulling out their phones. The online betting world was on fire.

Meanwhile backstage, the eight remaining fighters stood in line to receive something called a senzu bean. Sure modern medicine was miraculous, but these little things were still the best way to heal up quickly. They just didn't grow in enough abundance to use them too often. However, this was a special occasion, and the tournament coordinators wasted no expense to obtain enough senzu beans to give to each victor in each round. They wanted everyone performing at their top level.

Once everyone had received their boost and returned to full strength, it was time to continue. The next to combatants, Bakuto and Jackson, were pulled aside and led to the building's exit, just out of the crowd's line of sight. They stood side by side, as the announcer hyped the crowd and stalled for time, waiting on the majority of the people to return to their seats.

Then finally, he called their names. Jackson said nothing as they walked out to the arena, side by side. Banners with his name were waving and people were chanting it as well. The MMA World Champion was the clear favorite in this match.
