This time, it was Angela doing the charging attack, leaving Bakuto the one to stand still and try to counter attack. The shoe was on the other foot, so-to-speak. Bakuto swung to hit his opponent, but practically all of his attacks missed. The one that did hit, bounced harmlessly off of her shoulder.

The crowd started chanting Angela's name as she landed blow after blow on her opponent. Unfortunately, it looked more effective than it actually was. Bakuto still had a lot of health remaining. How was this fight supposed to end!?

Bakuto ran around Angela, creating after images, just as he had been doing for most of this battle. Only this time, many of his after images didn't look as solid as they once had. Only two or three of them could pass for his clone. Thus, Angela's odds of hitting him were higher. But it didn't look like Angela was going to take those odds yet anyways. She held a defensive stance, showing no signs of attacking.

Without coming out of his vortex, Bakuto started striking Angela from different angles. But no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't deal any damage. She was covering all her vitals with expert precision and her All-Out Stand technique made up for the blows she couldn't block.

Gameplay

Most of this RP is going to take place through Discord. There will also be chances to use the Pokemon battle simulator called Pokemon Showdown. As for the Jak and Daxter games themselves, you don't have to necessarily play them to participate in this RP, but more on that in a moment. Finally, this RP thread itself will only be used for posting important information.

First, Discord & The Jak and Daxter Games: In order to catch Pokemon and find items, you'll need to tell me where you are in the Jak and Daxter game. You'll do this by describing the area to me via discord. I'll then decide what Pokemon and items are currently in the area for you to interact with. So, while it is possible to describe a location in the game from memory, it might help to play the games to remind you of the locations and make this a funner experience.

Second, Pokemon Showdown & Events: When I know in advance that I will be online at a certain time, I will let everyone know through discord and through this site. Often times, these events will be Pokemon Showdown battles: battles against important bad guys, battles against legendary Pokemon, and so forth. These events will also take place at a certain place and time inside the Jak and Daxter world (but of course, you can just say that your character is in that location, and that will work fine).

Lastly, this site: I will be using the three tabs to this thread for very specific purposes. The Character Sheet tab will be solely for storing characters, obviously. This OOC tab will be used to help recruit new players and to answer general questions. The biggest change here will be the IC tab. Since players will be interacting through Discord, the IC tab here will be reserved for plot summaries.

Pacing and Passage of Time

The passage of time in this RP will be loosely linked to real world time. For every week IRL, one day will pass on Jak's planet. When we start a new day, it will either be the next day, OR we can time skip a few days. This will hopefully keep the RP moving at a decent pace.

Also to help with pacing, experience points will be awarded based off the passage of time. For every IRL day that passes, you will be awarded 5 experience points. For every in game day that passes, you will be awarded 10 experience points. Therefore, when we are starting a new day, if we decide to time skip a few days, you will receive more experience points to work with.

Experience points will be the only form of "currency" in this RP, and they are only used for catching and leveling up Pokemon.

Catch a Pokemon = 2xp times their level
(You can only catch one new Pokemon per IRL day, and it can't be at a higher level than the strongest Pokemon in your Party.)

Level up a Pokemon = 1xp
(You can only level up each Pokemon once per IRL week, but you can level them up as far as you like at that time.)

Plot

Shortly after Jak stopped the Dark Makers, a new threat came into the world. Mysterious storms began popping up all over the planet. Out of these storms, giant monsters emerged, along with armies of smaller monsters. These creatures rampaged uncontrollably, through the cities and beyond.

Ashelin and Torn quickly organized the Freedom League to fight these creatures and capture them, whenever possible. Even with Jak on the front lines, it was a daily struggle to contain the chaos, until a man calling himself Professor Oak appeared.

With the help of this man and a young boy named Ash Ketchum, Jak and the gang were able to learn about these creatures called Pokemon. Apparently, they came from a distant planet inhabited by these “Pokemon”, but how they got here, no one could explain. However, they assured Jak and everyone else that Pokemon in general were peaceful. They were just as confused about why and how they arrived.

They also explained Dynamaxing, the cause of the storms and the giant Pokemon that emerged from out of them. An excess of energy caused these Pokmeon to take on these forms, which was also the reason they were rampaging.

The professor then asked to speak with the city’s lead technology expert, which of course, was Vin, whos consciousness was still stored in the power grid. Together, Professor Oak and Vin were able to engineer the first Pokeball, a device from Oak and Ash’s home world that could be used to safely capture and transport Pokemon.

They also told of people called Pokemon Trainers, of which, the young man Ash was a very accomplished member. Naturally, now that they had Pokeballs, the next step was to start a trainer program of their own. At first, only members of the Freedom League were brought into the new trainer program. Months later, they opened the program to the public. Citizens of Haven City (or their sister city Spargus) could join.

A few short years later, and everything was finally starting to feel normal. Pokemon were a new reality that everyone accepted, and while the dynamax storms still appeared on occasion, they always had enough trainers to manage.

But it wasn’t all sunshine and happiness. Ash and Professor Oak weren’t the only ones to arrive over the years. Other trainers and professors from their world would appear. Unfortunately, just as many dubious individuals made it through as well.

They operate from the shadows, while their numbers steadily grow, and they plot to take over this new world. Exactly who is in charge of these villains is unknown. Though, young man Ash Ketchum has a few guesses. What is known however is that they exist. They are out there. They are planning something, and they are likely at the source of all this madness.

You have been approved to join the Freedom League’s Pokemon Trainer Program. You will need to report to Freedom HQ in New Haven, where you will receive your first Pokemon partner. You will only need to bring the clothes on your back and your identification card. All other equipment will be given to you upon your visit.
