This is my second profile on here, and I have been Play-By-Post RPing for about nine years now. I do my best to see every RP to the end or at least let my character come to his/her own dramatic conclusion when I feel like signing off. Just like novel writing in real life, I tend to find myself on long hiatuses. Since writing is a great way to work out your brain, I try stay engaged as much as possible.
My favorite genres include futuristic worlds, mysteries, and super powers. Any mixture of these three elements will peek my interest.
@Balthazar007 I think our stuff needs to be added and THEN displaced among the group, so that's what I'm gonna do. Speed, out of them all, MAY not translate as well as Attack and Defense in this format. Something to think on as this system evolves.
Yes, I think you're right. You should apply your stat boosts first, then distribute them. I agree with this going forward. As ususal, I don't want to go back and change things though.
After the conclusion of this fight, I'll rethink how speed works. I may not change anything there, but I also might. We'll see.
@DoubleI'm going to use great speed to dodge out of the way of these guys and hit them when they're clumped together.
Just so you know, there are no bonuses for attacking while they are clumped together. You can definitely do that though, and you didn't use any boosts last turn. I think if you use some boosts correctly, you can knock one or two of them out.
@Double Have faith my friend. While you two are outnumbered and out classed in base stats. The opponents don't have any boosting capabilities. So, I think you two still have a slight advantage as long as you play your cards right.
The battle began. There were only six assassins, but the way they moved, there might as well have been twelve of them. They closed in their targets looking to make swift work of them. That's when they realized that this battle would be no regular assignment.
The first three assassins, attacking Niko, dealt a decent amount of damage, using all that they already knew about their target from research. After all, he was the original target. His file was shared among anyone that had a chance of meeting him. The first assassin did the most damage, landing his kick right in Niko's chest. Of course, Niko was willing to take a little damage, to let his target in close enough for his counter attack. Niko grabbed his opponent and flung the guy at one of his companions. Unfortunately, his secondary target dodged and retreated. The fight continue for another few combos, but Niko wasn't able to land many more attacks than his initial counter.
Wan on the other hand seemed to handle himself a little better. He used his secret technique, momentarily making all of his opponent's flinch. He then closed in on one target in particular, dealing a solid amount of damage. All the while, he managed to avoid most of his opponent's attacks, taking minimal damage. It was clear, he knew how to handle assassins from his own organization. Even still, he didn't have any room for mistakes.
Niko takes 36 damage from his three assassins, with the most damage coming from the first assassin. He looses 24 power to exhaustion. He has 85 Health remaining and maintains a Power Level of 97.
Wan takes 14 damage from his three assassins, with all of them dealing light damage each. He looses 22 power to exhaustion. He has 86 Health remaining and maintains a Power Level of 78. Assassin #1 takes 12 damage from Niko's counter attack and looses 12 power to exhaustion. He has 38 Health remaining and a remaining power level of 38.
Assassin #2 takes no damage but looses 11 power to exhaustion. He still has 50 health and a remaining power level of 39.
Assassin #3 takes no damage but looses 11 power to exhaustion. He still has 50 health and a remaining power level of 39.
Assassin #4 takes 19 damage and looses 12 power to exhaustion. He has 31 health and a remaining power level of 38.
Assassin #5 takes no damage but looses 11 power to exhaustion. He still has 50 health and a remaining power level of 39.
Assassin #6 takes no damage but looses 11 power to exhaustion. He still has 50 health and a remaining power level of 39.
The six assassins then retreated in unison, creating a wide circle around their two targets. They ran the length of the circle for a moment, then charged back in. They hoped to confuse their opponent's by changing the match ups. Apparently they decided to prioritize Niko, noticing that he had taken the most damage, it was like they were sharks that smelled blood. So while four charged Niko, two went to Wan to keep him busy.
I got a little busy today and didn't realize how long it would take to finish my post. It's almost done, but I need to get ready for work. It will definitely be posted tomorrow.
Just so everyone knows, I'm working on my response post now, with the assassins versus Niko and Wan. I'm going to take a break and finish tomorrow morning. It's actually a little more difficult to calculate for a group battle (go figure). But I'm getting better at it. I should have no problems finishing in the morning.
I'm excited as always! Hope everyone's doing well!
My next post is going to have to wait for about two days. I wasn't able to get around to it today or yesterday (obviously), and I work a double tomorrow. Tuesday I only work in the morning however, so I should be able to get something up in the evening then.
