Bio
Just a small, fragile birdboy with a huge beak. I used to be Manapool, but we don't talk about those days. I have been here a while if you couldn't tell.
In all honesty, I am 23 and in a committed relationship outside of roleplay. I work as a cook who works nights. I'm a big fan of seeing people's food they make and learning about new foods if you ever want to share. I enjoy tabletop games, card games, and video games as well as reading comics in my spare time. Your typical nerd, you might even find me at conventions!
Most of the time I stick to Superhero groups and Play by post D&D here. I have admittedly begun taking far fewer rps. I prefer Fantasy and Superheroes as a genre but can find myself interested in Sci-fi settings too! My main fandoms are Fallout, Marvel, and Souleater but I have a lot of niche interests like Hylics, Neopets, and Monster High. If you have a strange fandom you want to rp? I am the kind to at least take a look at the source material!
These days I am closer to a low to mid Casual roleplayer. I want at least a paragraph from replies and don't mind dipping lower than casual if it fits the flow better. I am capable of writing decent long posts but expect me to take eons to reply. I also must warn you that I tend to lose a lot of steam in the winter months.
If only I could break the chain of disappointments Weighing me down Shake off the ghosts that whisper warnings Whenever you're not around I won't be afraid Of all the things I've wanted It's the fear, and not the ghost That leaves me haunted
See what a life you lead: You're an anchor for all the heaviest Regrets inside of you Escape; we collect mistakes I will carry them home
Name: Chie Jordan Hero Name: Shuriken Known Alias': Age: 18
Powers:
Peak human physicality: Training in martial arts since the moment she could stand, playing varsity sports and working out with her brother has made Chie an incredibly strong woman. She isn't super human by any regard but she can take much more of a beating than your average person, can run miles in minutes flat and can lift like a body builder. Compared to any enhanced person, she is relatively mundane, but against the average goon and gangster she far excels.
Inhuman accuracy/sight: Chie, like her mother before her, has eyes like a hawk. She can see in the dark fairly well, and can see farther than most people. This aids in her ability to hit things from far away accurately. With any gun, crossbow, or thrown item she can hit a 6 inch target from as far as 200 feet away. This isn't even adding the addition of scopes.
Equipment:
Throwing stars: Her namesake, weapons she got in a weapon store in Gotham to replicate her mother's old weapon. Hers are more streamline and generic, being 4-prong shurikens.
Extendable staff: Much like robin's own, a metallic staff that extends and collapses for convenience. It's not particularly sturdy, as it is hollow but it's hard enough to pack a wallop.
Taser: For more intense situations or when trying to incompacitate someone, a hand held market-strength taser is at her disposal. Since it's loud, she often tries not to resort to this item. It was given to her by her mother, as a means of protection on the streets of gotham.
Skills:
Acrobatics and parkour: Chie has long since learned to traverse the sprawling cityscape in it's entirely. Be it scaling walls, jumping building to building, riding rails, and all things in between. This applies to her fighting skills as well, capable of doing flips, splits, and all in-between.
Martial arts: Years if training, sparring and real life experience has turned Chie into a surprisingly dangerous teenager. She is capable of fighting hand to hand, with a variety of melee or throwing weapons, and has adopted a mixed style of Karate, kick boxing, wrestling and street techniques she has leaved over time. Chie's skills rival a professional fighter, because as a super hero; she is one!
Stealth and lockpicking: Picked up from her more rambunctious side of life, Chie is skilled in avoiding people's notice. Her mother taught her how to walk and jump silently, as well as how to quiet her breathing. Experience has taught her where to hide and how to trail some one inconspicuously. Chie learned to lock pick on her own and while not a master, the skill comes in handy.
Expert driver: Chie can drive motorcycles at high speeds expertly. It goes without mentioning this includes weaving around obstacles and doing dangerous jumps and other stunts. Her skills rival any dare devil or drag racer.
Appearance:
A short and stout woman, Chie has broad shoulders and an athletic build. Her hair is long, about to her shoulders, and jet black. Her skin is fair and her eyes are a dark brown.
Known Associates:
Kyoko Jordan, an ex-member of S.H.E.I.L.D. is now a woman enjoying her early retirement. A mother of two, Kyoko sometimes has to derive her attention amongst her family but Kyoko is Chie's rolemodel and in many way's her Mentor. They are good friends and the teen angst expected between them is seemingly non-existent as they both respect and enjoy one another for who they are. Kyoko can sometimes be a bit overbearing though, pressuring her child and expecting greatness from her. She will always accept her daughter no matter her abilities, but she knows Chie is capable of a lot.
Doug Jordan, father of two, Husband of Kyoko and proud attorney is the lawkeeper in the house. He keeps strict rules in the house and is an orderly person. He loves his family, even though they often break his rules or cause him stress. He is a patient person, but her shows his disapproval at almost anything. A tall and scary looking man, he is secretly a sweet heart.
Derrick Jordan is Chie's older brother, soul confidant and is currently studying at a university on the other side of the country in California. Derrick is a laid-back stoner and is considered the black sheep of the family. He constantly encourages Chie's more rebellious, free spirit and can be a jerk at times. Still, he would drop everything for his family.
Chie's best friends at her high school make up her normal squad she hangs out with when she gets a chance. Laura is the tallest and graduated early. She works as a barista at a local coffee shops and is often trying to get Chie to join her in escapades. A sort of rival in swimming and track is heather, the tanned girl with short hair. She's prone to teasing and though the most mature of the group she tends to be condescending when she's helping others. The last, but certainly not least is the energetic sweetheart that is Chandra. Chie's first friend in Gotham and her closest friend, the two are like peas in a pod. Lately, though, because of chie's role a shuriken, they have started to distance themselves.
Niel and Chie met after Chie was nearly killed in a drug bust gone arye. They've begun a hesitant alliance, helping one another to deal with the crime in Gotham. Chie both admires and loathes Niel, seeing him as the 'real deal' vigilante, but also feeling underestimated. They both clearly keep secret from one another and have no intentions of revealing them. She is aware of his darker moments and hopes to keep him from doing anything he regrets.
Known Adversaries:
Silvermane: SIlvermane is a dangerous crimelord because of his cybernetic enhancements. Capable of hacking computers, super human abilities and loads of gadgets, these two have crossed paths a few times as Silvermane prefers to deal with trouble makers personally. Both encounters Chie has narrowly escaped with her life. Now that she has help, though, she might have more of a chance against him. Silvermane is much less quiet about his actions than her other adversaries and while his gang is easy to catch, the fear of dealing with Silvermane himself is enough to make Chie give a second thought to busting any of his operations. Silvermane mostly deals in high tech items, trading or selling to collectors or other villainous figures of all sorts. This includes, but is not limited to, Lex Luther.
Eagle Claw: A mysterious member of the league of assassins who seems to have a vendetta for the shuriken persona. Eagle claw alludes that he knows Chie's alter ego and has a grudge with her mother. He is accompanied by the people he's trained and works with anyone who wants Shuriken dead. Eagle Claw is Chie's uncle, who was the archrival of her mother in her hayday.
Kingpin: These two have not yet had any direct encounters, as Kingpin is not grounded in Gotham. His criminal empire spans much of the new england and great lakes area, and so while she is a mild inconvenience to him, Kingpin is by far Chie's biggest villain she has her eyes set on. She is frequently dealing with his goons and sooner or later he's going to take a dangerous interest in this pesky girl putting a stop to his plans. Kingpin has one of the largest criminal empires in the states and so most crime leaders have affiliations with him in one way or another.
Canon Basis: [url=Shuriken]comicvine.gamespot.com/shuriken/4005-… Bio: Kyoko, Chie's mother, was once an agent of S.H.E.I.L.D. and went on many missions through the eighties. When Loki and his army attacked, however, Kyoko was wounded and in critical condition by a frost giant. She recovered, but the event left Kyoko unable to fight. S.H.E.I.L.D. awarded her a purple heart and Kyoko was forced into an early retirement. She met a man and settled down in toronto where they raised two kids. As her kids grew up, Kyoko taught them the same martial arts she had learned throughout her life, as her kids seems to idolize her for being a hero.
Chie spent most of her childhood in Toronto as a relatively normal girl. She was sporty and close with her family, a good student and had plenty of friends. When her brother moved out, her father took a new job in Arkham city and the family moved. Chie resented her new home and her mother, fearful of having a beautiful young girl living on the streets of Gotham, Kyoko doubled down on Chie's training. Chie had a few encounters with local thugs and was surprised that her mother had taught her to capably handle them. Emboldened and angry at new living conditions, she took to the streets to save others who couldn't protect themselves like she could.
Overtime Chie's vigilante work expanded beyond beating up muggers and thugs and she started actively fighting the organized crime in the city. She adopted her mother's old persona as she owed her for teaching her everything she knows. Now, after meeting Nathaniel, Chie is hoping to advance her heroic life!
A maid was quick to slide a plate to the Wyler, though a she wrinkled her nose in distaste as she watched the beast slobber across the fancy silver plates. Regardless, she would be sent scattering with a yelp as a bulky Scorchio nearly toppled onto her. With an indignant scoff she quickly made her way to the back of the kitchen, coming back with a couple deserts and pastries. It was a delightful meal orchestrated by the best chefs Hagan had at his disposal. With full stomachs, introductions done and nerves quelled the group eventually carried on towards the spire they had been directed to.
It was a beautiful addition to the castle walls, reaching higher into the sky than the trees and rivaling the mountains. It's walls where bleached white and ornate tiling shipped in from Shenkuu. balconies and windows peeked into libraries. This one seemed completely empty. At the bottom of the tower and by the door was a spindly blue Lenny in regal looking robes. She seemed to perk up to her full height when they arrived fumbled with a small book she had before she began to read off a clearly rehearsed speech. "Greetings heroes. So you've, uh... You've decided to test your mettle against my puzzles. Be warned: once you enter, there is no going back" She stuttered out nervously before she opened the door and revealed a fairly simple room within.
It was nice study: an out of place fireplace was lit giving off a nice, cozy warmth within. By the door was a bookshelf and the center of the room was filled with cushioned seating, ottomans, and a fancy glass table in the center with a cup of hot chocolate still warm on it. Underneath all the furniture was a fancy Qasala rug. On the wall, above the fireplace was large hand-painted picture of the Lenny outside and next to her is a well dressed yellow bori with a feathered cap and a rapier by his side. "enter if you dare" The bird chimed in ominously, though her soft voice contradicted her 'threat'.
Dullin listened on to the others as they decided on an action to make. The driving cold was maddening and she wished more than anything to get inside after all the traveling they had done. Even with her diminishing funds she would give it all just to sit by the fire for a moment and warm her ice cold hands. A row boat, a sloop? It would hardly matter to her if it wasn't keeping her from an icy death in the water. Worse yet, they would have to carry the thing? She recalled struggling to carry books home from the library, how would she lift these boats? Her thoughts were drowned out from her body crying out to be free of the ice.
"Why don't I go check in at the White Lady?" She said through shattering teeth as she had already begun to scoot towards the Inn.

These days I am closer to a low to mid Casual roleplayer. I want at least a paragraph from replies and don't mind dipping lower than casual if it fits the flow better.
