She is an optimist that can find the light in every situation and never gives up. She relies on others for support and when alone can feel helpless. She does not do well with telling people things that can be hard, preferring to beat around the bush when she can.

Superhuman Stamina: Atlanteans have the ability to maintain continuous physical actions for an undefined period longer than an ordinary human.
Marine Telepathy: In addition, Atlanteans can developed low-level psychic communal capability which they use to broadcast and receive thoughts between certain forms of oceanic Animalia. Some Atlanteans, such as Aquaman, have a higher level of mariner telepathy and can use it to communicate with other forms of sea life; even extending it to creatures whom evolved from which seamlessly, a power considered rare
Water manipulation: Using Atlantean magic, Mel can take control of water sources withing 20 feet of her and channel it to use for various purposes. Freezing it into ice, moving around as she pleases and solidifying it into weapons are all ways she can use water. Think like Calder from young justice.

ꜱᴋɪʟʟꜱ/ᴀʙɪʟɪᴛᴇꜱ:
Swimming: Atlanteans are natural swimmers and Mel is no exception, she particularly excels though. Even among other underwater beings she is considered fast. She can easily outpace Olympian swimmers in this regard.

Arcane Knowledge: As a student of atlantean magic and having an interest in the unique and amazing aspects of the surface world, Mel is well versed in the history and understanding of all things magical. She can easily decipher these things as such.

ᴡᴇᴀᴘᴏɴ(ꜱ):
Trident of recall: A two sided, three prong trident made of brass. The tips curve out at the ends and the shaft is decorated with a sparkling ivory that is engraved with depictions of small sea critters. The weapon is named Ψdon's Entente. The trident works as a conduit to enhance magical powers in the user, but more importantly has the ability to be recalled to the users hand at will.

ʙᴀᴄᴋꜱᴛᴏʀʏ: Mel was a common born Atlantean who grew up doing what she could to serve her people. She and her family herded fish for a living but she grew tired of the life style and always yearned to see the world above. She went to school and studied the many tongues of the surface dwellers, majoring in the magical arts. Mel proved to be an astute student and quickly rose into advanced magical studies. Before long she was catching the notice of Aquaman himself. Knowing she craved to see the world outside the sea and that the world needed heroes, Aquaman strongly encouraged her to join the newest task force of young heroes. Mel was not going to say no to her king and eagerly joined.
