December

December had so many good memories of this game. She felt a little guilty about leaving her old guild, but it was to raise her son; everyone understood and wished her well. The nostalgia was refreshing in a way, but sad too. She couldn't be honest with herself though, and had been driving away every negative thought that popped into her head. Her reaction was instinctive. On some level she hoped, that if she didn't think about losing the place where she slowly got to know her sweet husband, or any of the colorful people they played with... maybe it all wouldn't disappear, if she just wished for it hard enough.

The festive hall, once crowded with all manner of wondrous items, constructs, and NPCs, seemed lonesome and, for the first time tonight, empty. The crowds thinned and the space between those remaining grew as more left after saying their final good-byes.

Others wandered around viewing interesting sights and sounds like socialites enjoying gallery night in a high-end arcology. She passed them by without a word. Her heart couldn't endure much more of this party, and she was wounding herself just by sticking around, but she didn't want to leave. Not yet anyway.

As she was filling a new cup of wine, she overheard some intimate confessions exchanged between a cutely dressed village girl and a sultry demoness. She hadn't intended eavesdrop. It just... happened.

As she listened, a knot began to tighten inside her chest and low, hollow feeling swelled behind it. If her avatar could make tears, she was certain it would be crying right now. She stared at the virtual red liquid idly sloshing in her glass, and briefly wondered if there was some kind of closure at the bottom. She only needed to drink to find out, and even brought it to her lips to drink, but stopped.

"It's not pathetic..." her tone was quiet and wistful. Once she realized she had said that, she felt a little awkward, but it felt right to say it.

She turned to Selena, her voice trembling as if fighting back tears. "I don't know what's waiting for you on the outside, but I won't believe that any of the time I spent here wasn't worth it. I met my husband here. Some of my most treasured memories are here! It's the same for you, isn't it? At what age does cherishing the things important to you become pathetic? I'd rather-" December realized only too late that her tone had grown harsh, as if scolding this poor stranger.

"I'm sorry." She said quickly. Embarrassed, her voice suddenly became soft and quiet again. Her impassioned flare vanished in an instant. "Please excuse me, I said too much."

With a polite /bow, she took her wine and briskly walked away. Her fingers nervously circled the rim of her glass as the seconds stretched into eternity. She needed to unwind and sort through the mess of emotions that tangled her heart strings into wicked knots.

Maybe I should just leave early?

@Hammerman@Rune_Alchemist
I'm guessing this isn't going to happen. We can chalk it up to life getting in the way. :/

I hope we're able to do something in the future though!

Everything we make together turns to dust, Genkai!
All of it!

Are we cursed? ╥_╥
@BurningDaisies

Ok... I was actually laying on my bed, getting ready to sleep and I logged on my account (on my cellphone) just to say one thing.

Omg please please please please make BaGoon a character!!!

I LOVED him !!! XD. Your post was so amazing lol!!

High praise, thank you~!

Yeah, Goon was going to be my second character. I figured I'd give him an respectable cameo. xD

@Stern Algorithm

"Goon wasn't always most lucky goblin on planet. In goblin village, licking poison toad is good luck. Goon tried it once, but toad died instead. Goon had bad luck for long time after, and took on many quests to get it back."

The impish and shrill voice belonged to TheGreatBaGoon, a short, elderly green-skinned goblinoid who always sounded more ridiculous than he looked with the various talismans and fetishes hanging from his clothes and the pointy wide-brimmed hat which accounted for half of his height.

"W-Wait a second! Is that why tried to get us to lick a toad every time we started a difficult raid?" December was dumbfounded by this new revelation. Goon had been raiding with them for two years, and this was the first time she had ever heard of it.

"Of course! Why else would anyone lick a toad?!" The little goblin scolded her instantly.

TheGreatBaGoon was a shaman specializing in fatespinning magic, which manipulated luck, and he was a fantastic roleplayer who never broke character. He always claimed to need an escort, as his character build was very inefficient. But, he also seemed to survive even the harshest situations and got some of the rarest item drops in the game, even when he went by himself.

"Sometimes I really question your sanity." December met his condescending tone with a flat stare.

"Sanity boring. Goon traded it to fat man selling grilled lizard tail long time ago. Stomach more important than brain."

While the chat erupted in wave of /lol emojis and the nearby guild members fell down in a fit of laughter. Khang wore pleasant smile and chuckled quielty, but seemed distracted. Started to approach him, when IYamWhatIYam called to her. She stared as the angelic construct she had helped create started spouting biblical verse.

"Take care!" She shook her head and rolled her eyes as a faint smile played on her lips.

Khang placed a hand on the small of her back as he waved farewell to their friend. He leaned in and whispered, "I received an alert message. It seems little Nam woke up."

Without hesitation she pulled up the main menu and hunted for the log out button. Her hand was hovering over it, when Khang stopped her.

"You don't have to do that. You rocked him to sleep last time. I'll log out early, so just enjoy the rest of the party." He smiled warmly. "I'll see you when you get back."

She nodded and mouthed a silent thank you as he placed a kiss on her cheek and vanished.
I'll have a post up later tonight.

@BurningDaisies
Another fun character. Although, I noticed you mentioned Fimbulvetr as having Wild Magic origins which is a 'new world' only type of magic that uses souls to power its effects. Might as well just make it a super-tier magic or a special 10th tier type. Fix that then the character should be fine.

Fixed~

Is it alright to migrate my CS to the character tab?
@The Bork Lazer Could we maybe skip to the next person since the posting order isn't super relevant at this phase of the story?

Seconded.

Its been over a week now...
After dealing the initial loss of losing a husband and son, I think December will probably wander listlessly for awhile. Although, witnessing particularly cruel and evil actions by other Players or NPCs will definitely spur her to work to prevent them; if that means PK'ing some demon lord, so be it. I imagine she may end up like Selena, although for different reasons, disguised as some travelling commoner.
@everyone:

So what sort of story elements would you guys like to see in this roleplay?
So far, is there a goal you have in mind for your character aside from the usual fare of "...to be the very best like no one ever was"?
Perhaps some inter-character conflicts?
