Name: Charlotte Victoria Roberts
Age: 17
Nationality: The United States of America
Occupation: High School Student; Part Time Barista
Gender: Female
Personality:
Charlotte is a person who is both rather hard working and able to be rather patient with things she is working with or tasks she believes are worth doing, at least, and is the kind of person who might be found plugging away at a project all-night or putting her all into some other task if she felt it was important enough or had enough value without another word until you find her passed out at her workbench. The sort who seeks to get straight to the problem as best as she can, planning and thinking on it and even trying out different approaches until she can find a solution if she has to. Another thing that can describe her well would be ‘down to earth’, though, as she is usually focused firstly on functionality and practicality when making something or accomplishing a task. This isn’t to say she doesn’t have an imagination, but that she tends to try to look at things first and foremostly in a practical sense from her perspective. When frustrated she tends to bottle things up inside herself for the most part, including at times until they make her ‘explode’, though in a general sense she tries to be at least polite and courteous with those around her when in public and so forth.
She dislikes her costume and is irritated by it in that it is far more ‘eye-catching and flashy’ than anything she’d ever care to wear normally at all. More like something her older sister would wear, actually, as she herself had always preferred to wear baggy and long and comfortable clothing over anything else. Not that she wasn’t accustomed to safety gear for working otherwise, but this….really? She looked like she belonged in a casino serving drinks or rolling dice for pity’s sake! But even though wearing this thing would continue to irritate her to no end in a general sense….well, if wearing this thing meant she could make interesting new things and cast cool spells that had to at least be a silver lining about having to wear it to be able do any of the cool things as well as survive, right? …Right?!
Background:
Despite her parents getting ‘fancy’ with her name, Charlotte was born in what many might see as a ‘run of the mill’ middle class lifestyle. Mostly. The second oldest of four to two happily married parents, she would also end up becoming the ‘daddy’s girl’ of the bunch as she took an interest in many of the tools and work her electrician of a father made use of in his line of work. This would eventually turn into fiddling and tinkering with things using her hands, ranging from participating in the local ‘battle robot’ league to just fixing things in the general sense or helping fix things as she learned more about it. Despite this, she would also come to help around the house in general as well as in handling her younger siblings and wrangling them or the like.
Unlike her generally more spoiled older sister, she never really complained about it over the years and mostly kept quiet and just got things done. Yet this also came at the price of having to help more around the house as her father was injured on the job and her mother picked up part time work to help supplement the family income. It certainly was a life of sorts to live, but it was a life she came to be patient with all the same. In that vein she was often called ‘more mature’ for her age by some of her teachers, though whale that was true enough about her ‘reserved’ was probably the better word to use at other times. Often Charlotte wasn’t the most outgoing social figure, though she did manage to find a few friends either at school or within the realm of her personal pursuits and tinkering. Likewise, where her older sister would end up seeking a business degree in college one day for a future she instead felt like taking up a trade like her father did or maybe working with computers and IT-type things.
When she turned sixteen, she would eventually find work as a barista at a local coffee shop. The owners of the location knew her father like friends, since he’d done some work for them in the past at their home a few times over, and they were a welcoming presence (at least) as Charlotte would be hired and eventually get the idea of how to do her first job over time. By a year later, as she began her senior year of high school, she was accustomed to the orders of regulars and the occasional ‘curveballs’ that would come her way for the most part. Etc.
Yet one late night, this being early on in her senior year of high school still, she was working at her and her father’s shared workbench in the garage basement of the house and was getting rather tired after having worked earlier that day. As she was beginning to turn off things and put her work on the latest little battle robot she was making, though, suddenly she thought she heard a voice speaking to her. Looking around herself she couldn’t see anyone, family or otherwise, but the voice kept getting more and more clear and distinct. As it did so, her eyes felt more and more heavy as well. Then it all went black.
Costume Overview:
Type: Hybrid (Caster/Artificer)
Source: Casinos/Anime
Imagery: Gambling
Powers/Abilities/Spells:
- Auto-Cleaning: Your costume somehow washes itself daily, meaning you never need to worry about stains or bad smell!
- Auto-Repair: Should your costume ever become torn or damaged, don't worry! It somehow restores and repairs itself daily, meaning maintenance is a non-issue! ... Unless you're in a still on-going fight.
- Pajama Party: A sleeveless, spaghetti strap, gold-colored, and comfortable knee-length nightgown, which has lacy black borders along the bottom of it with gambling-type imagery in detail sewn into it with gold threads. It is also, and most importantly, rather comfortable to sleep in and automatically grows longer in colder weather or colder climes (and shorter in hot weather or hotter climates respectively) to keep the wearer more comfortable at night no matter where they are!
- Stat Boost (minor): Depending on which type of costume you picked, you gain a small passive boost to the correlating primary attributes. Do not touch this section though, the GM will fill it in once your sheet is accepted and posted in the characters tab.
- Crapshoot: Two conjured magical dice are conjured and fired off at the target like projectiles. Can only target a singular target. The spell is performed by simply pointing a finger at the target, whether it be via a cool ‘finger gun’ or just pointing any finger of hers at the target, and activating the spell. Spell is only launched from a single finger, however, even if multiple ones are pointed at the target (in such a case she has to choose which finger it is cast from if more than one is pointing at the intended target).
The dice will have a singular random ‘element’ imbued into them upon being conjured and fired off at the target, which is chosen only at the discretion of the GM alone once the spell has been cast (unless alternatively I can choose randomly what element is imbued on my end instead, in which case please change this if that is the GM’s wish; whatever works best).

Of course not. I just think throwing a fireball at that beetle would be a very cool, brave and heroic thing for someone not me and standing very far away from me to do.
Sounds like we should put a Flak Beetle and a totally-not-just-a-fire-chicken in the same pen and run far away from the location to a safe distance to observe what happens. For science. Yup. :P
Analyzing Creatures... Flak Beetle - An aggressive insectoid known for the glowing sac hidden under its shell. The shell hides a gland in the bug's thorax that, similar to a firefly, contains a substance that produces light. It also has strong jaws.
Skill Progress: Creature Analysis - Rank I > Rank II! Gain more information when analyzing a creature, including a general assessment of the threat it poses. Warning: Assessment’s accuracy is based on known factors and does not account for individual differences within specimens.
A growth in her unique skill already? Certainly somewhat of a surprise development to occur so soon, and yet at the same time something she was grateful for and wasn't totally surprised by at the same time. It confirmed her theory that, at least with this particular sort of skill, use of it was akin to a muscle perhaps. Use it, train it, and it would grow and develop along with her. At the same time, whether it consumed that 'MP' value was also a concern to her that yet seemed unanwered as of yet. She'd certianly have to make use of her new spell alongside this skill to see how things went, and if this mysterious 'SYSTEM' would give alerts for such things or if she needed to somehow figure it out all by herself.
Regardless of all of this, hitting something called a 'Flint Beetle' with fire seemed like a less-than-adviseable choice that was going to bite her back horribly perhaps. At least if the name was any sort of indication. It was also aggressive, so there was concern that it might react the same way if attacked right now. Maybe. Or perhaps it was looking them down as food? Either way she'd remain cautious of the thing. Plus she'd have to look more into this later, maybe use her analysis skill on it again to try to gain further information about the species if possible.
But as they pulled the purple mushrooms from their stalks, the white pustules on each cap began to swell up! With a sound like a fart, they burst and spewed clouds of tiny lavender spores into the air! The girls found that the dust settled on them without immediate harm, aside from perhaps causing some sneezing and coughing. Some of the spores also landed on the rocks around them.
*cough*, *cough*"
Hurridely pulling up and using an arm to try to cover her mouth, Lazash tossed the picked mushrooms into her things as she took a few steps back from where the mushrooms had tossed out their spores into the air. Despite moving away quickly from the sudden cloud, however, it was definitely still enough to make her cough and take her attention off of the Flint Beetle. Indeed, her attention would be brought squarely down to the mushrooms once more.
Perhaps the sudden movements would make the insect flee, if it was behaving anything like an Earth insect right now at least, but that was just a mild hope that she wasn't entirely going to bank on either. If it attacked that'd be even worse Even so, the very hand she'd aimed up at the Flint Beetle came down and pointed back at the mushrooms as she quickly tried to speak again.
"Be car-"
Then, the mushrooms that were still in the ground suddenly began to swell too—except instead of the white pustules, it was the purple caps that began to inflate, and only one out of every four mushrooms seemed to be doing it. Then, rather than explode, the caps simply split open.
Followed by tongue like, barbed tendrils that lashed out with frightening speed towards Lazash and Vola, as well as what seemed to be random spots on the ground and walls…
She wasn't able to finish talking, cut off as the sudden 'pop' of other caps on the ground and emergence of barbed attacking tendrils shooting out toward them stopped the female runt's talking in its tracks. Why this was the case she had no idea. How this could happen was nothing to think about right now. Comparisons to other Earth-based life was certinaly another topic altogether. Instead, Lazash would reflexively try to do the thing she'd tried to prepare to do to the Flint Beetle before she'd identified it.
Fire Bolt. Fire Bolt the nearest tendril-shooting mushroom cluster, which was in particular being the one she was still pointing at and the same cluster of mushroooms she and Vola had ultimately picked some from.
Would it work and help them any? Would it backfire and the mushrooms were flammable? Would the Flint Beetle step in front of the attack and blow up them and the whole cave with it like a bomb? She had no idea, but Lazash was acting on survival instinct right now as her right arm tried to bring up her pointy wooden stick (already held in it just in case) blindly to try to see if it blocked anything in the process. However, most of her focus for sure was the reaction of trying to Fire Bolt her current target right now.
If things worked out well enough after the next few moments were said and done, and they didn't all blow up or get into a position where this next action on her part couldn't be reasonably done, she'd even try to use her Creature Analysis skill on the mushrooms themselves in turn.
The mage didn't so much as notice the Frenchwoman's reaction to her own tiredness and exasperation, though for the most part the mage's mood would seem to change as they finally left the clothing store. Relief, as visible as it was while she only somewhat tried to hide it, would take over the mage's expression as they began to make their way toward the exit. Relief at finally getting some fresh air, relief at leaving the airs of the so overly-fancy store that had spooked her, and yet-
"Ah! Leaving already?"
Addelsby would walk over with his quick little steps, briefly interrupt Lillianna on her way out as the mage's head turned to look at him one more time. His tone, almost slightly teasing, would come alongside a small smile and a seeming understanding in his eyes. In fact the old gnome seemed to have some sort of grandfatherly twinkle in his eyes if one looked closer, though it was enough to at least elicit a small smile in return from the usually shy mage.
"Yes....but p-perhaps we'll be back one day."
With a small chuckle, the designer would give a silent nod to the mage, then to MacKensie, and to Fenna in turn, before turning around and disappearing into the cutrain call of the back rooms of the shop once more.
After finally getting outside, the mage clutched her staff in her right hand as they walked along. Its light tap on the ground as she walked with it was faint, at least compared to the hustle and bustle of people and daily traffic moving around them, but at the same time almost comforting to the mage. It was the one part of her mage attire and such that she hadn't sent back to the Mended Drum at that. Likewise she felt somewhat glad she'd gotten the, admittedly likely overburnened by now, help from this latest store to carry the rest of her things back as well to free up her arms.
She wasn't physically unfit right now, but for some reason shopping like this seemed well out of her area of expertise if nothing else. Draining in its own fashion, really, a fact she felt in her mind and in her bones. Even so she'd have to get back on her exersize later, and she would do so some time before going to bed at least, and then get her morning routine back into...well...a proper routine again if she wanted to stay physically fit enough. Maybe find a place to swim if there was any around here-....drat, she needed a swimsuit in such a case then. Perhaps before the end of the day they could make one last little-
As they left the clothes shop, MacKensie was still holding the bags that had her other things she bought at other shops and stalls. It occured to her that she could have had all of her bags sent back with her outfits, but that opportunity had passed. "Well," she said brightly as she twirled around to face her friends, somewhat flexing her new outfit, happy to be out of the ranger gear for a while. "Where shall we go next? Some food, or back to the inn for some rest? Perhaps we can visit the place you wanted to go, Lillianna?" She couldn't help but leave the option out there for more exploring. "I'm still open to more exploring if you have it in you," she said in a playful challenge, arching an eyebrow.
-...ah. Ah! Yes, that was right! She hadn't forgotten one bit about wanting to go to the Church of Iris, but at the same time it was certainly one part of a growing list of things she was taking note of in her head. Or, well, list of things she had been taking note of by now at any rate. But at the mere mention of what she'd said before, the mage perked up with a little more energy before responding to MacKensie.
"Well, it isn't as grand as the shopping we've done...but I did wish to go to the Church of Iris here in Valheim. Something about that spirit that assisted us back in the maze, the one that spoke with me, seems to have stuck with me a bit. I was hoping to try to learn a bit more about him there, since he told me his sister had been trained as a cleric I believe."
Her voice seemed to drift off a little as she finished speaking, admittedly a bit nervous about her request though very much honest in what she'd said as well. The unfortunate adventurer who had died out there in the Mazy Hillocks, without whom they'd have been ambushed that much worse in a situation that had gone even further beyond that by the end of it all. He'd also saved her though a well-placed...poltergeist-ing? Er, that is what she called the event in her mind right now anyway. Somehow helped kill a wolf that was trying to get at her throat, basically, but it took a lot out of him from the looks and sounds of it.
That had been the last she'd seen of him before the flurry of events took her out of comission. Nearly made her another spirit bound to the area, perhaps, though the thought made her shudder unconcsiously at the potential that their dead comrades could have been sent to such a fate themselves. Hopefully they hadn't the grudges or such to stick around haunting a place like that.
Still, in the end she was glad Lucy had directed her toward the Church of Iris for further questions. Maybe there would be answers at the end of it all, she hoped, that might put her mind better at ease or the like.
@Crusader Lord That works with me. Keep in mind though that both Searchlight and the airport are fairly radioactive so any humans would have to be settled elsewhere to avoid radiation poisoning. There is a nearby community at Cottonwood Cove that they could live in.
The Rough Riders are based at Wolfhorn Ranch which is somewhat nearby.
Trade with Boomers is an option but I’m gonna go with the route that any vehicle that has been sitting for 200+ years is beyond being salvaged into something flight worthy.
Noted! And thank you for the information! I had forgotten that the airport was radioactive to some extent as well, but at least it's another potential option for where the faction could set up. Going to decide tonight where the mutant faction sets up so I can get the rest of The factions history hammered out as soon as I can.
On break at work as I send this though, so it'll be some hours yet before I get home to do a little more work on things today at least.
EDIT/UPDATE: Due to certain things that have come to light IRL for me after I posted this orignial message and tonight after work, I will be unable to formally apply to this RP anymore at this point in time. My apolgies for this sudden development, though I do wish to thank you for being kind and answering my (even if a bit too rapid-fire and hectic perhaps) questions and such!
I will still wish this RP the best, however! It is still always good to see a Fallout RP around these parts! :)
@tundrafrog1124 I just had the sudden idea of them taking like a year to stealthily relocate from Jacobstown to highyl fortifying and building up on Searchlight Airport (and renaming the faction to "Newhaven" once Jacobstown is lost) while secondarily taking over the place and the former Camp Searchlight (to just be called "Searchlight now) and securing the road between these locations for setting up farms and bighorner herds and trying to start up trade again with locals. Especially since the land down there is useable and such, and there was no note in the timeline (as far as I could see at least, i mean) that said those spots were being used!
Hence it gets the faction that by now has been trying to look into fighting The Green as far from it as it can be so its people can be safe, but maintaining an information network and spheres of influence and outposts going up into the north of the Mojave. This also helps trade, and potentially the Boomers might be interested in the intact jets still down in Newhaven (by then formerly Searchlight Airport) to boot! Could make for something fun, perhaps, but I want to check this general gist by you for feasability.
If it isn't feasible, then I can move my location back to Camp Searchlight or the REPCONN Test Site as you suggested before. (Sorry for the fifty questions, btw, I just want to make sure on things. Really sure. @_@)
