Bio
You can call me DC.
Been roleplaying about 9+ years now. Trying different websites out to see what happens, so, if I happen to have encountered you before, don't be afraid to give a shout out.
I work nights and am usually up for most hours of the day. Because of that, I'm often running on no sleep, so that's a thing.
Metamorph remained perched in the tree as he awaited orders from the rest of his half of the team. In the meantime, he kept his eagle-inspired eyes roving around and caught sight of the guard as it initially passed him by. His instincts told him to strike while the security was occupied. Observing them, however, Ja was able to put together that they were there to look for something. Looking at the container that he still held in his hand, he started to wonder if it was a good idea to take it in the first place.
All the while, he felt a strange sinking feeling in his chest. Something was wrong…Very wrong. The Red ate at him from within, a feeling similar to guilt welling up inside, as if watching a friend die. The feeling brought him to a memory, the first scar line for the first companion he’d lost on a mission. His vision glazed over and a momentary flashback overtook him.
It was a mission like this, that he lost his friend Djum Djum. Infiltrating a facility that Ja later learned was operated as a safe-house for metas from the Buredunian Special Forces. The facility had been apparently protected by Batwing at the time…The mission was a failure, as Djum Djum had got spotted. They had to retreat, and their commanding officer was angry, too angry. Djum Djum had cost them the mission, and their CO had to answer to King Lion who already wasn’t keen to failure. It wasn’t before Djum Djum was executed out of their commander’s anger and fear… Djum Djum was older than he was back then. He was funny and sometimes shared food with Ja…His friend should not have died…Ja shouldn’t have let that happen to him.
Blinking the memory away, Metamorph squeezed his fingers together in internal pain. It was right afterwards that his eyes widened momentarily as his hand was void of the little container of evidence. Realizing that he had dropped it, his eyes went down to search for it and instead caught the guard staring up at him. Ja froze in place. He hadn’t heard anything back from his team up until this point.
That was when the alarm went off.
The Red’s worry still sat in his chest but now combined with Djum Djum’s scar. Was Ja the failure of this mission? The question along with his instincts prompting him to action pushed him to move on his earlier predatory inclination. Clawing his fingers, his arms spread like an eagle and he dove down from the tree. Swooping on the guard, he extended his legs and crashed feet first directly into the man’s chest. Once on the ground, Metamorph placed a foot on each of the guard’s elbows. His suit took a Lion’s pattern to mesh with the Golden Eagle. His fingers became the jaws around the guard’s throat and arteries to disable him.
Afterwards, he looked around. He took notice of the container he dropped earlier, but now was trying to find Nymph as it was clearly where he was receiving these signals from. Remembering where he had left her earlier, he snatched up the strange container and flapped his arms once to become airborne.
Once finding her and Rain, he landed near them. His suit’s pattern swapped to that of a German Shepherd, a dog’s whine briefly audible as he stared the wilting girl down. He dropped the container on the ground and absentmindedly nudged it close to them. His inability to remain focused failed his teammates. The rest of the team with Talon was still inside, but he had no orders to follow. Ja didn’t know what to do with himself now.

With clearance given to check out the strange vehicle, Metamorph waited for just a moment. Monitoring his teammates as they got into position, he kept to his snow leopard posture to keep the pattern matched with the snow and rocks. Then, on all fours, he got to the ground level just a ways off from the HQ. Confident of his teammates abilities, Ja went to work in investigating the scene.
As he approached, it was easy to notice displaced and broken branches. Given his specific authenticity, this wasn’t an animal that made this mess. When he got closer, it was confirmed, this car was a point of interest. On all fours, he crept out of the brush after carefully looking around. With his headbush tied into the pretty Kass lines, he had to double his attentiveness.
Closer now, a burning scent hit him after closing a six foot distance and he exhaled from his nose aggressively. Bad stuff was close, which he quickly took notice of green liquid mixed between small red hazes in the snow. The red was blood, though something about it was strangely familiar but he couldn’t quite place it. The green stuff, he had no idea.
Standing up, he looked at the car itself, noting some minor damage; small dents and chipped paint. Clearly there was some kind of struggle that happened here. That wasn’t a guarantee that there was a friendly in the area, but Ja was optimistic given the familiar blood scent. Returning his eyes to the ground, he noticed a small trail it left, as well as some footprints in mixed directions.
The trail of green, Ja followed to a beat up little container that it seemed to come from. His head tipped to the side, comfortably going back down with his hands gently squeezing at the ground. Looking over his shoulder at the scene again, he looked back to the container. Were they fighting over this thing? And, if they were, why just leave it here?
As he was picking the container up to examine it further, he heard the message from Nymph. One of the guards was off their patrols en route to the forest? Ja was willing to guess that they’d be heading this way. He still had to report what he had found as well…Metamorph made an executive decision, feeling something off in his gut. The suit’s pattern changed as he now took the inspiration of a squirrel, scurrying into the brush and quickly up a tree.
Once in the tree and in a secure branch, he laid on it for the brown to blend with the tree bark. The brown seemed to slowly deepen as he combined the squirrel with that of a golden eagle, searching the forest visually. Pressing a finger to his coms, he kept his voice low while his eyes searched for the stray guard.
”There was a struggle near the car…blood, many foot falls, and a strange green liquid. It seems to have some toxic qualities…Something here seems out of place, over.”
Location | Innocuous Warehouse | Missions | A Dish Best Served Cold | Mentions | @Akayaofthemoon, @Hitman, @Mintz, @Sassy1085 |The streets were quiet, specifically around this area. From a hero’s perspective, that’d likely be a pretty good thing. It wasn’t. Something was up here, and the streets knew it. Something was upsetting the balance and Sol knew what it was. He heard some talking about an old drug plant that they were reopening as a front. The reason, he wasn’t too keen about. Thus, he was off the Paladin but was also off the record. If they knew what he was coming here to do, they’d likely try to stop him. Thus with even as little as it’s seen, the Blur Rabbit didn’t make an appearance today.
Instead it was just the disappointment nobody, Solomon Powers, making his way down the road with hands in his pockets. The name of the game was casual wear, but made him unrecognizable. So he was in a royal blue hoodie, black jeans, with similarly black and blue basketball high-tops. His hair was concealed underneath a black trucker cap, his hands with black tactical gloves. He wore his protective bodysuit beneath as well, just in case. When right outside, he pulled down a blank white face mask from under his hat to conceal his face.
When inside, it looked like they were just breaking for the mission to start. Sol took a moment to look around and it seemed about as he expected. Going by the sights and smells, there were actual drugs in play here. The choice to do so baffled him some. This stuff was usually supposed to be disposed of, not to be played with for a mission designed to capture one person. But people who turned to drugs for their problems needed to be locked up with little to no help…A topic for another time.
In the moment, there were many more people involved for him to do what he was going to do initially. His eyes went to the heroes involved, nodding in passing to Piranha Boy who seemed to be taking charge of the mission. Two of which, Sol recognized. His lips pursed under his mask, knowing immediately one of them would present an issue if he didn’t address it quickly. So, as the group moved into whatever positions in anticipation, Solomon followed her. He kept his voice low but spoke up as he neared her.
"A strong man stands for himself. A stronger one stands for others…Or at least that’s my Até what tells me." [ NAME ] Kane’Tohopka Wernicke CAH-NAY-TAW-HOPE-CAH
[ HERO IDENTITY ] Kanati
[ NICKNAME/ALIAS ] K, Kane, Hairball, Prince of the Wild
[ AGE ] 18
[ GENDER ] Male
[ AFFILIATION ] H.E.R.O.
[ APPEARANCE ]
Kane stands at 6’6 even with a bronze skin tone and brown eyes. He possesses a mesomorphic and burley build, easily mirroring his father in a few years. His hair is naturally a dark brown in color, though in certain lightings it can be mistaken for black. It is thick, shoulder-length, and sparsely braided but most often wild. He also has some dark markings on his forehead, reminiscent of tribal tattoos. *Further details on these markings will be found under Abilities.
Kay’s style of dress can be seen as fairly conservative. Despite his musculature, he doesn’t flaunt it much, with the most skin seen on average coming through the exposed arms of varying shirts. Otherwise, jeans, combat pants, khakis, and sweats are all things he would be seen in. He also tends to like wearing different sorts of Stetsons, no matter what he wears casually. Kay also isn’t the type to dress up and would have to be talked into doing so.
Kane’Tohopka is the first born son of Samson and Kia Wernicke. His Father, also known as Kanati the Hunter, is a retired longtime agent of HERO. Kane was raised in the country, on the Wernicke Family Farm that his own father was raised on. The boy had a peaceful home life. His father worked hard to make sure that his family lacked nothing secularly. His mother managed the home as best she could emotionally. As a result, Kane’Tohopka had a stable childhood.
Except for one thing: The Chazeka.
Ever since childhood the Chazeka, or Rage, has afflicted Kane. What was worse, unlike other children, his powers began to develop much earlier. It was what kept him from conventional schooling as when he lashed out, even as a little boy, he was a danger to most. It had gotten bad enough to the point that his mother feared she gave birth to a Wendigo. Sam, while similarly distraught, did not panic.
Instead, he made a call to an old friend of his. This old friend wrote symbols on Kane’Tohopka to help manage the Chazeka. After that, outside of the Incident, they managed to live a relatively peaceful life. Kane learned and laughed just as any other boy. He took particular interest in tending to the farm’s animals, naming them all and making it his personal mission to tend to them when sick or injured. The boy often journeyed into the forest around the farm to explore, even christening himself the Prince of The Wild.
It was while he was getting older though that Sam recognized that Kane couldn’t stay on the farm forever. Eventually, his boy would have to go out into the world and that adventurous spirit made that time fly to nearness. A world that was full of stresses and pains. Kane would have to learn how to deal with such things without losing himself to the Chazeka. In which case, a good place to learn would be at the famed Academy for Junior Heroes.
Thus, despite some minor protest from his wife and the boy himself, the family bought a second home and moved to the suburbs near to the big city of Castleburg. A fish out of water would be an understatement to describe how overwhelmed Kane was at first. The city was loud, it stank, was bright, was fast, and technology was confusing. It was hard but with his support group, it became great and he caught on fine.
More recently with becoming 18, Kane’s father promised him the keys to his old place in the East Flank. He was told that it was a big responsibility in maintaining a home of his own, but Kane was ready for it. There’s always been the concern of the Chazeka but it’s been a while since the last outburst. Besides, he’d just signed over to start working for HERO officially now. The future was brightening up for him as he was following in his father’s footsteps.
What does he have to fear?
| MISCELLANEOUS | Kane is multi-lingual separate of his power, speaking English, Lakota, and Spanish in that order of fluency.
He has a six year old little sister named Xima, who hasn’t displayed any super powers as of yet.
[ RANKING ] Average = B+ The Chazeka ≥ A
[ POWERS ]
Reactive/Environmental Adaptation Kanati from a young age has had the ability to adapt to the world around him in a variety of ways. It is a passive ability for the most part, that acts instantaneously to ensure his survival. It can act in two different ways, being short term and long term adaptations.
In short term situations, it provides short term solutions. For example, if he were to be submerged in water for a couple of minutes, he will have developed gills and can breathe underwater for a while. However, once he’s back to breathing air for the amount of time the adaptation was needed, he reverts to his normal state.
In long term situations, it provides longer lasting adaptations. Long term situations usually mean repeated situations over a long period of time. For example, he has developed borderline superhuman physical attributes after many years of rigorous physical work alongside his largely superhuman father. For this to die down, it would take many years of him not doing imposing physical labor.
While his adaptation is instantaneous, the situation to adapt to must be introduced to his system at least once before. This would mean that one-hit kill or incapacitating attacks to his system would definitely do the trick. This would obviously mean that he can’t carelessly throw himself into any situation. Another limitation is that while he can go for longer without food and water, he still indeed needs those things or he’ll die. It also doesn’t give him more intelligence, he still has to make smart decisions on his own.
However, these limitations are temporarily exuded when Kane is overtaken by the Chazeka. When The Chazeka is in control, the passive nature of his ability is overridden by stress and he goes into a fight or flight state. If Chazeka is in fight, it will attack the stressor, enhancing his physical prowess as damage is taken until the stressor is incapacitated or it flees. If Chazeka is in flight, it will flee the situation by whatever means necessary.
Once it feels safe, Kane’Tohopka will go into a state of unconsciousness as his body is recovering which can stretch from a couple days to even a month, depending on how long he was overtaken.
There are several ways to counteract the Chazeka: 1. A being, or group, of sufficient enough power can overpower the Chazeka, at least briefly before the adaptations stack. 2. A being, or group, of sufficient emotional connection to Kane can manage to calm the Chazeka down, or at least put it into flight by leaving with that person. 3. A sufficient dose of power dampeners.

[ EQUIPMENT ] Hunter’s Bow - Kanati has a composite bow that Samson built early in his career. It has a draw-strength of 250 lbs that he could pull back casually enough to quickdraw with. For Kane, he can pull it back with little difficulty, but has to build up to be able to similarly quickly fire arrows with accuracy.
Tomahawk - The small, durable, axe-like weapon that Kanati has had since the heroic golden age. It may not be the most flashy weapon, especially in this new age, but it’s definitely one of the most reliable.

So far Kilamanjaro wasn’t sure how he felt about their stealth mission. At first, he was excited because it had been a really long time since he got to do one. Well, really after freedom, this was the first time he was getting to do any missions. He even got to wear the camouflage costume that changed colors to the animal from the Red he was drawing from. Though there was one small problem, being the mask which was designed to cover his whole head. It was sort of thin, yes, but his hair was big, which he supposed made it a big problem.
Ja’s hair was one of his strongest ways of feeling what was around him. However, if he left that, or his face out on a mission like this, it would be easy to figure out who it was after. If their enemies managed to put together it was Young Justice carrying out the mission, it would be bad news, like Batman said.
When he was with King Lion, if there was a stealth mission, they did his hair in different ways to suit the occasion. Ja remembered when he was really little and they tried to cut it all off…He still felt bad about mister Bumi who couldn’t do missions after Ja took his eyesight away…Because of that incident, Ja promised from then on that he would control himself when missions required something to be done to his mane.
Still, he wasn’t sure who initially in his new herd to ask. It was when he mentioned it to Kassy that she offered to do it for him on the plane. At first he wasn’t sure, Ja liked her a lot and didn’t want to accidentally hurt her. Yet it was pretty easy to notice that, despite the color, her hair was sorta like his. If she knew how to manage hers, then she could surely help with his!
Then they got on the mission plane. It took so much of his inner strength not to make a sound or squirm…or at least not squirm a lot. It felt like a hundred howler monkeys screaming for help on his head at the same time. He tried to focus his mind on other things…Like when Daffy-Knee was nice enough to actually bring some chocolate baobab for him. It made his heart fill up with enough joy to balance himself out.
Once it was done, his mane had become neat rows going the length of his head, drooping to the back of his neck and upper back a little bit. It not only fit under the mask…it looked kind of nice! Nice enough, that he went around and showed the rest of the pack. He even showed Alisa!- even though she was driving the mission plane.
When it was time to land, Ja understood that the time for silliness was over and he actually put the mask on. With the chill from the foreign air, he opened and closed his fingers. He opted to leave the pair of night vision goggles for him behind, deeming that they’d make it harder for him to see. Although instinctively remaining near to Mirage, he followed Talon. When urged to try their best, Ja nodded, gripping his shoulder to share the sentiment back to him.
While half Team A seemed to wait around for Talon’s next order, Ja took note of Nymph going off to find a vantage point. Thinking that to be a good idea, the Meta lowered to all fours and the camo suit took on the fur pattern of a Snow Leopard. Creeping along after and a bit further beyond, Metamorph managed to get a glimpse of the HQ.
Noticing Coal flying above, he perched still and doubled up to become a Snow Leopard with Barn Owl eyes. Almost immediately on scanning the area, the Meta noticed something. With Nymph having gotten the comm system online, Metamorph immediately put it to use.
”Metamorph to Squad A, we have an automobile hidden near Kobra HQ. It seems to be hidden, and given the placement, its alignment with the faction seems questionable, over.”
Solomon stands at six feet even with a caramel skin tone and sharp silver eyes. He possesses a toned and athletic build but he isn’t a walking wall by any means. His body has varying scar marks due to training and from a few missions. His hair isn’t naturally blonde in color, instead more of a dark brown but he often dyes it. It is often short and tapered, braided in differing ways as well. He also has some peach fuzz about his chin and corners of his lip that he doesn’t do much with.
As far as dress and grooming goes, Sol can be seen in a wide array of outfits. As if in contrast to his demeanor, his outfits often describe how he is feeling with color and accessories. When on duty or in HERO facilities, he dresses professionally, in a dress shirt and slacks, though willing to change when appropriate.
His heroic uniform consists of a plain black dress shirt with a white tie, black pants, and even a sleeveless surcoat at times. Underneath is a white bodysuit with black accented gloves and boots. The bodysuit is form-fitting to maximize mobility and is highly resistant to laser-weaponry. He also wears a black and white helmet with two protrusions that stick out above his head, reminiscent of rabbit ears. Further detail on the helmet will be found under equipment.
*The Blur Rabbit has been associated with HERO for ten years but is suspected to have roots much deeper. *Despite his paygrade, Blur Rabbit is often seen in Watervale and Brookside. Because of this, it is rumored that the Blur Rabbit had some prior connection to the Hood and The Outlaws but there is no confirmation. *The Blur Rabbit is widely attributed with the eradication of Castleburg's Koshiki Devils that once worked with the Yakuza. *The unmasked identity of Blur Rabbit isn’t known to common folk and most heroes, enabling him to blend in with the populace. *Solomon Powers is widely regarded as having a simple job as a mechanic for the HERO organization.
| MISCELLANEOUS | Has an inexplicable affinity towards Rabbits and Hares, a soft spot if you will. It has been confirmed that he has several as pets. The reason for this odd interest is unanswered currently.
[ POWERS ] Blur Rabbit’s abilities are essentially a means of self-enhancing his physical attributes, absorbing energy through the particles around him via motion. His power relies on momentum and requires his constant motion to build in potency. The more momentum he garners, the more energy he is able to draw towards his physical capabilities; his trademark “Blur” speed for example. This can be as simple as getting a running start before an attack but it is not limited to such. Varying athletic actions can also create differing boosts depending on how rapid and rigorous the movement involved.
While seeming to have no upper limit, this ability does have its weaknesses. For one, if he is immobilized, unable to move his muscles in any way, his abilities take no effect, leaving him vulnerable as any average human. With this, he must be conscious in order for the abilities to work properly. Further, while the enhancement does grant him enhanced durability and some regenerative healing, it does not give any extra stamina. In fact, should he have a lasting injury and need to recover, his therapy is moving while injured and that will sap his stamina until utter unconsciousness.

[ RANKING ] S

[ SKILLS ] Advanced-Level Martial Artist Specializes in Oriental Forms and Includes special martial art developed by former hero “The Glide” designed to target special pressure points. It is designed to briefly disrupt the powers of metahumans and can cause temporary paralysis. The acquisition of this skill is what places the Blur Rabbit into S-tier as there are only a handful of practitioners ever documented.

[ EQUIPMENT ] Hare’s Helmet - The Helmet of the Blur Rabbit is designed to enhance the senses, essentially shortcutting the time his brain needs to catch up to the speed his body moves when close to his max. It is the most durable part of his uniform.
Swift Slicers - Two swords wielded by the Blur Rabbit. They are designed in the shapes of a Katana and Wakizashi and are worn in the fashion a samurai would. Although not the most durable or sharp, they are quite dangerous with the Hare’s precision and speed.
Smoke Pellets - The Blur Rabbit carries smoke pellets of varying types for differing situations. These are often used as a diversion, getaway option, and means to draw fear in the hearts of enemies.
Interaction | The Team A & B Location | Mission Room
Metamorph seemed mesmerized by the holographic imagery, wonderment similar to Aleen’a. While he knew of different advanced forms of technology given his extraordinary past, there was still quite a lot he hadn’t seen before. On top of that, this time they were getting a mission from Batman. His new friends seemed to be interested as well. To call them friends already in the time frame they had spent felt, ironically, natural to the animal boy.
They had done all sorts of stuff together in the past two weeks. Well not really, but some fun things happened. He made it a goal to try spending time with different team members to try getting to know them better. Vicky’s hiking trips definitely helped with that. Daffy-Knee even got him a green shirt that he didn’t want to take off…though a few days passed and it apparently started to smell after a while and needed to be washed. Then there was also a lot of time he ended up spending on his own. He got a job at the local zoo! His apparent experience handling animals in the past should have made it easier but the people in charge didn’t believe at first. But that story would be for another day.
The mission at hand had to be secretive. With that concept in mind, Ja didn’t think it was a bad idea that Batman said Talon was the leader today. In fact, it was pretty smart. At least that story about Batman seemed true. Ja was still kinda disappointed about the reality of him not looking like a actual Bat-man.
When Talon told them the plan, he slowly nodded in understanding. It all seemed to make sense. It was odd to think that this was the most Ja had ever heard the guy talk. He spoke english pretty good and nothing seemed wrong with his voice. It made Ja wonder why he kept so quiet all the time, even more than Kassy.
Regardless, the seriousness faded momentarily; Ja barely holding in a giggle with Alisa not realizing she was touching ghost Batman’s butt. The lad would have wanted to play with ghost Batman too, but Red Robot said that he had to behave or he wouldn’t help him order any baobabs. Sure Ja could have tried going to the store on his own, but none of these stores had baobabs. Thus, Ja kept to his place crouched on all fours and stuck to the wall, trying to resist the urge of a moth to a flame…or a light…or a hologram.
Focus. Mission. Talon asked if his idea was acceptable, which prompted an upturned thumb from Ja. ”Can we bring snacks on the mission plane?”
Want to know more? Just ask.
