"A million times I have done this charade. The moment people figure it out, I get the boot." she thought.

"But don't you want to see the fear in their eyes when they see who you really are...? Don't you want dominion of this place, just like how you were unchallenged in Vaal Kastrix?" said the Voice.

Ciara scoffed, immediately thinking of Gulliver and Valen. "I'd love to wipe the smirk off their faces."

"It starts by building a rumor. A rumor of power. This could be the place to start."

She took a deep breath, narrowing her eyes resolutely at the Undermage. "Head Advisor, with all due respect, you have no right to ask me about my intentions. If you want answers..."

She stood from her seat, rising to her full height.

"You'll have to duel me for them."

Iris Ascendis Roleplay (2023) | TikTok Tribute

Her breath caught when she felt the cold metal of a pistol against her temple.

"Put the heart down, and back the hell up if you want your friend to live," the guard said to Ellie in a rumbling baritone, digging the gun into Dream's head.

Dream squinted at Ellie, vision blurred as she tried to breathe. The heart, glinting in Ellie's hands.

The doctor, his face turning white every time she asked what would happen if they failed. Above all else, he said, they had to keep the heart safe. They had to, even if it meant...

She snarled, her boot stamping down on the guard's foot, a burst of light bruising the bone. He yelped, losing his grip. That's all she needed, and she tore away. But in her haste, she saw his free arm reaching for her, and she slipped on panicked feet as he pushed her off the railing.

She held back a scream, staring straight down into the boiling pit below. The guard wrapped a tight hand around her ankle, and Ellie could see Dream's other foot flailing; she restrained herself poorly from kicking the guard, desperately hoping she wouldn't die.

As her captor supported himself against the railing, his pistol pointed at Ellie.

"I'll drop her, I swear I'll drop her!"

Deep, golden orbs stared back at her from within the cave.

God, she couldn't breathe.

He was monstrous. The ground trembled under her feet as his rippling, massive body exited the cave. Thunderous footsteps left cracks in the dirt, his breath sent waves of heat creeping over her skin. The transformation was slow, but it looked like something from a nightmare with the way his long teeth were bared.

A great and terrible roar sounded from his gaping maw.

She needed to run. Now.

Finally gonna get some scheming done with Garthois, yay~
Indeed, Wrens. It looks like not just Dlay's struggling with a name, though. XD

Dlay, thanks for the post! It's delicious. Ya know who we need to post now? Nytem. Or Andre. Or Xiga.

Nytem, Andre, Xiga:
Can I help you guys with anything?
So... Who's posting next? Mine's ready to go, but i did just recently post... XD
They say the mix of a sad heart and happy smile are one of the most unique ways to spark creativity. :)
Who would have thought memes could explain this roleplay and our evil overlords so well? XD
That was the most unfair answer she'd ever had the displeasure of listening to. There was no time for patience in her world. She learned secrets for their benefit, it was her job to know the ways of things. She considered it a danger if she didn't knew, for she could not prepare for a thing hidden in obscurity. Although it saddened her the King would not be giving her a straight answer any time soon, she took comfort in the fact that she'd be paying a visit to the Guild soon. She remembered the saying 'Thicker than thieves', and that held true in their little 'family'. There was also a plan Garthois and her had the pleasure to think up. Scheming at the midnight hour always took her mind off the struggling games of the court.

Her thoughts were not evident on her porcelain face, and she flashed a sincere smile to DuRant. "How insightful. I would wish for nothing more, Your Majesty."

Her eyes half-heartedly glanced around the great hall. Courtiers still happily chattered among themselves, even if it was evident their smiles and good nature were show for the King. All the two-faced lying plainly taking place among the tables wearied her. Soon it would be an appropriate hour to beg her leave of the King, and she could move on to more entertaining things. Like sneaking into a castle to empty the treasury, that was far more intriguing. Her mind simulated different routes and possibilities, where the guards could be stationed, how the servants worked. And if the Baron himself was a midnight walker or not. It wouldn't do to have him wandering the halls while his fortune was stolen from under his nose. Of course, she couldn't do much without a memorized knowing of the castle's floor plan. Perhaps Garthois already had some maps in his chambers, he'd be that kind of person to take initiative.

The time was almost at hand. Evelyn innocently hinted her wish to leave the dazzling party behind, politely bowing her head from the King's eyes. "It's been a most lovely evening, hasn't it, Sire?"
Vygorns. It had to be Vygorns. After discussing at length exactly how they were going to take them out, the aliens ended up knocking on their front door. Fate, it seemed, did not wish to be delayed. She knew it was her duty to step out and join the fight, but something kept her there, hunkered down behind rusted car parts. Something that scared her almost as much as the Vygorns. Something that intensified the chill in her heart.

Apathy. The apparent lack of caring that Vygorns were there, attacking her newly-made friends. She could easily see their panicked expressions as they fought. But inside herself she felt clinically detached. It only took some pondering to realize why she felt so empty. It boiled down to the simple question: why am I even here?

Her home was in Atlanta. That was her life, the streets and their apartment, her and Jesse. She could only see his face in her mind, the face that couldn't even look at her as he held the door open. Contorted with pain and confusion, his eyes cold and disappointed. She searched his gaze for any fleeting glimpse of their former love, but even in her mind she couldn't conjure respite.

She looked down at the stub of a cigar in her hands, eying it angrily. She had commissioned the thing to take away her heartbreak and icy feelings, and the frustration she felt when the cigar didn't work made her feel dangerous. Like, vehemently mad.

If only you were punch-able, cigar. She thought as she sucked back on the stub one last time before squishing it under her sneaker with a satisfied smothering sound.

Cora had the fleeting thought to abandon the Elementals and just return to Atlanta to beg Jesse to take her back, but she knew such an act would haunt her for years to come. Her calling in life was clear, especially with her awakened gifts. She knew where she was suppose to be, but that didn't mean she had to like it. It also didn't mean she had to work with anyone she didn't want to, and she considered the fact that going to Riverdale alone would be more preferred; no one to get in her way then.

She hovered on the balls of her feet, ready to spring from her hiding spot at any moment. Her eyes took in the scene, how the Vygorns behaved, how some Elementals reacted better than others. Seeing the evident fact that the battle here would soon be over, Cora held her breath, stole a couple steps back, and snuck off into the night. Her pace was almost at a full run by the time she reached the bottom of the mountain, and she made her way as quickly as she could through the wasteland to Riverdale. If she was going to do this by herself, she needed to be fast.

I'll be home soon, I promise...

I didn't mean them to be so easily defeated but you guys posted an attack where they get owned very easily. I don't want to make you guys edit your posts just for that but for the future, Vygorns are pretty strong, and the important places are going to be defended pretty well. So don't just walk into the Military base for example and own everyone.

You can't let us get away with it next time, GM. Remember, your word is law and you can rewrite anything. I love a challenge, and your villains deserve more respect than a one-hit. I'm actually surprised you're letting the Vygorns go down so quietly now, they could easily use some Void magic to tip the tables again. But, I suppose it'll be more entertaining next time. XD

Isn't it a role-play rule that you can't force a take-down, only say how your attack could take them down if it connected and stuff?
That's a good question. You should ask 'em. o.o

I'm curious to see who writes the 100th post, though.
