When you have to disable a new 'advanced' search to get proper search results and learn that 'advanced' means 'AI'. Let's rename it artificial superficiality, short 'AS'. Not to be confused with...

I'm slightly proud of myself having overcome my hate for indoor spiders a bit over the years. In my youth I often eliminated them, now I carry them outside in a jar. Spiders here are harmless though.

Believe me, if they could, the entirity of Southern Germany would send you all the rain they had over the last couple of days. I'm just not sure you'd actually want the widespread destruction.

Finally managed to catch the mouse. Our cat must consider me the most incompetent person of all times given how she watched instead of helping. She dragged the problem in though!

Bio

Welcome to my profile page!

Who the hell is this person behind those many miles of fiber optics and copper cable ?

  • I'm a 34 year old guy.
  • ... who's working as a software developer
  • ... and enjoys roleplaying as a casual hobby to distract himself from ongoing stress

And into which hell will I descend with you participating in one of my roleplays?

  • I'm a fantasy addict: medieval high and low!
  • I'd consider myself to be a low casual roleplayer, 3 paragraphs per post on average.
  • My schedule varies. It might happen that I won't be able to post at all for a week, but then again it might happen that I'll reach a sweet spot inside which I can go on a posting rampage. I'd say one can expect 1-2 posts a week from me, depending on the lengths involved.
  • English is not my native language, but so far I've not encountered anyone who had had trouble with me over that :)

Want to RP with me ? Shoot me a PM, but don't shoot me!

Thanks for visiting!

@Shoryu Magami I think it is a quite interesting situation, because there is some metastability in it: Vekyzz could either start thinking 'Yes! Finally someone who could get me back home!" or he could start thinking 'Oh god... yet another screwball that wants to fiddle around with things he doesn't fully understand and throws into jeopardy without caring!'. They could become good friends or start hating each other if things go really wrong.
@Shoryu Magami I've mirrored the image on my own image hoster so not to steal traffic from the original server. I've checked it and it seems okay, but if others report the same problem it could still be my error. Remote diagnosis is very difficult, maybe it has something to do that the image is transferred in an encrypted manner. Anyway, I have another link that shows the same image: http://67.media.tumblr.com/2a865005b7838cb8b84248a42d82a59b/tumblr_inline_n57drnMYxV1rhi1j2.jpg

I'm kinda surprised by the possible relationships. I've proposed this character to @Halvtand last night (my time), so before I had any possibility to read yours and see that he's a mage.
Name: Vekyzz
Title/Nickname: -
Age: 26
Gender: Male
Race: Demon. The realm he comes from is called Qu'Nor. There exist a multitude of creatures, not only demons, but he is one of them. They come in a vast variety of different shapes and, believe it or not, not all of them are flat-out hostile to everything and everyone. Most are however. Vekyzz is a tad in the middle: Not willing to kill on sight, but easy to push into a decent rage that can become quite violent.
Appearance: As an individual he is an imposing figure: The man stands about 7 feet 2 inches tall (excluding the horns) and is packed with dense, voluminous muscles.
Trope/Archetype: The Big Guy

Profession: He doesn't really have one. He's basically become a survivalist capable of living off the wild land. He still seldomly accepts more or less shady jobs, but more for fun than out of necessity.

Background: Vekyzz has never experienced the freedom of having parents that keep you nourished and well-kept during your childhood. He hasn't even experienced the luxury of never having to switch the world one's living in, allowing as much time as possible to adapt. He was thrown into this realm by a mage craving for power, but the first thing that happened is another case of the scientist-runs-an-experiment-without-preparation-for-the-case-it-yields-exactly-the-outcome-he's-hoping-for trope. The summoner doesn't live anymore, killed in an instantaneous act of outrage. Unfortunately, Vekyzz thereby has also slain his only hope of returning - or at least the only one he knows about. Being doomed to continue living the life that had just started to exist, the demon started roaming the land.

Equipment:
  • What would he be without his trusty, colossal, vintage looking sword ? Technically it isn't even really a sword, but merely an outstanding piece of mechanical butchery consisting of a thick piece of sheet metal that was ground to have a sharp edge on one side while the other was bolted to a large handle. It's purely makeshift.
  • An equally impressive collection of... one might be tempted to say 'garbage', but let's just call it an armor consisting of pieces of leather, fur and cloth stacked upon another and combined and held together with chains. It covers most of his body.
  • A cheap, but complete set of 'civil' clothing.

Pros:
  • + Very strong and tough. He's capable of moving and lifting things an ordinary human couldn't dream of.
  • + Rather intelligent, though not outstandingly.

Cons:
  • - His appearance. When people see him, prices go up, and when he leaves, they go down again as if by magic. He's really not far from being an outcast and scorn can be achieved by a wide variety of methods.
  • - He's lean and wouldn't consider himself particularly tall or heavy. By human standards however he is a crushing, walking tower and thereby prone to more or less embarrassing accidents. Furniture, badly maintained buildings and the like aren't exactly designed for him.
  • - He's inexperienced with this world and the habits, traditions and reasoning of its inhabitants. The negative impact of this has considerable lessened since his 'arrival', but is still noticeable.

The gargoyle scanned the hall they were in. What a magnificent castle this king had! Kerylun could not help himself but wonder how the gargoyles here would look like if there were any. Normally these statues were used to drain water from roofs or the like, but the more modern alternative was to use nothing but extensive pipework. Unlike Gwendolyn who appeared to be quite fond of her hood - at this point he had no idea if this could be considered inpolite along members of the higher classes or not, so he didn't say anything -, he did hardly make any effort to conceal who he was. To his defense it should probably be added that trying to hide was a bit difficult for someone who was close to 10 feet and putting half a ton on the red carpet. Of course, he could have started acting as a statue right here, right now, but that would have required him to take off his clothes first. Now that would be offensive! But interestingly only as long as his transition to a statue was not completed. After this, it would suddenly be okay again. Human society... strange things were happening...

Kerylun leaned down towards the elf so he could speak to her by whispering. "Erm... Do you think these chairs are suitable for me ? I don't want to break something before our business here has even started." On the other hand... the chairs had been placed there for the guests. That food looked delicious, but the gargoyle was aware that poisoning was yet another threat to add to their list. "We should seek the queen's and the princess' cooperation and perhaps let them exchange plates with others and then extract some probes. I doubt that everyone would be poisoned."

Ok someone needs to post asap. I don't mean to sound like I'm rushing people but it has been six days since the last post.

I've been trying to think about something decent for a post but I've not been able to come out with something I'd say would be reasonable. I suggest that you just go ahead with Sulley.

Btw.: Being referred to as 'someone' is somewhat strange...
What An-Hassle with these bogs...

Kerylun turned his attention towards the Orcish woman and slightly cleared his throat. It was a purely artificial move, there wasn't anything real actually clogging his windpipe. "Erm... Let them both sleep ? What should be the benefit of this ? If they're crazy maniacs that are addicted with peril or a super annoying combination of gossipy persons, maybe, but otherwise I don't see any real use in such a move that would compensate the risks. Are you sure you could move them on your own if it should become necessary ? What if one of them is a huge, fat, chunky bastard ?" The gargoyle spoke out this words after having reassured himself that noone he considered dangerous with regard to this was listening. "As for a sound... erm... I'm not good at imitating animals. However the top level of an usual belltower is quite accessible from outside so the sound is not impeded. If there's a hidden signal that should be heard in a very large area and I'm still able to fly, I should be able to toll the bells manually."
Still waiting for Kura to respond.

"Why not search for this nasty passages ? If there's a secret opening hidden being a painting, a mirror, a bookshelf or a hatch in the floor I could find it by stomping on or excessively leaning against it. Purely accidentally, of couse." The gargoyle smirked up to both his pointy ears. "Officially none of this should be there, so noone can really accuse me of something, can he ? Once we've discovered one entrance we can reveal the entire network. The architect of those secret passages would have been rather stupid not to connect all of them to each other."

Slowly, the giant creature started thudding along. "I have to agree, let's go. The most dangerous time for the two lads and ladies is while we're not present at all. Gwen ? Just tell me when you need a lift."
@Eviledd1984 Well... no real answer was an answer as well. Madawc mounted onto Xavier's horse and squeezed himself behind him into the saddle. "How much delay do you think this diversion will cost us ?"
