I suppose I'm curious. Will have to see what other information you present, but it has potential for an RP.
Korax, First Officer

"It seems the pirate was not as careless as first suspected," Korax agreed as Astrid radioed in to inform them of the bomb that was attached to the engines. As in many things, if it seemed like it was too easy then that was because it usually was.

Fortunately the crew assigned to the mission were good at their jobs. With Cake's assistance the bomb was handled, with Gue'rach making sure there was nothing that would tell if something went amiss with said bomb. Korax would assist as best he could, but he was more than willing to let those more competent than himself at these particular tasks handle them without getting in their way. The Captain was counting on them to not get themselves blown up after all.

But soon enough the bomb was defused. "Good job," Korax replied as Astrid gave them the good news. "Finish there and then return to the bridge." They did not have much time left after all. For now, it went about the last checks that were needed before they launched their part of the rescue operation.

It could only hope that there were no other surprises waiting aboard for them, and that the other team was not having any difficulty.
Official GM Memorandum

New changes are being set up right now, and will likely go through if no one has massive objections. The goals are such: reduce the already-absurd number of characters running around, encouraging organizations to interact with and bring other PCs into their group, and grant some method for smaller organizations to stand a reasonable chance against a tidal wave of PCs when activating their schemes.

Changes

The number of Player Character slots is 3. Allies and Twinned Souls of PCs do not count for this number.

Combat NPCs are removed.

If one of your PCs is the leader of a player organization, you cannot use your remaining slots to populate your organization. This is to encourage recruitment of other PCs, rather than just solo play. Allies and Twinned Souls of the leader are an exception to this rule.

During Events sparked off by a player organization (e.g Rave), the organization may be given permission bring in Event NPCs to even the numbers between themselves and the opposition, within reason. PCs affiliated with the organization should still be the ones instrumental to the success of the scheme though; Event NPCs are largely present to fight or defend are are expected to die or be defeated.

Event NPCs must be approved by GMs before being used, but don’t require a complete CS. A summary of their abilities is all that’s required. If you’d like help with manning some Event NPCs, feel free to hit the GMs up.

During Timeskip periods, surviving Event NPCs can be interacted with like any other character. Don’t use them to flex.
Current organizations listed, excluding PCs made by players who are leaders of said organizations, and Combat NPCs in general.

Arrows found their mark, Alicia’s contribution to their success as the ability of the Monster Queen to resist was limited more and more. It prevented her feeding on the corpses, and increased her desperation as Amaryllis approached for her own play. At that point the Seraph ceased fire, allowing events to play themselves out.

While she was not entirely sure what had happened from the angle that she had, it looked like it had been painful for Amaryllis. Yet no one could deny the results, as the Queen was purified by the power of the White Coin. Alicia relaxed then as the girl fell from her perch on the ship, and was caught by Leena.

“Good job,” she called to Leena, before shifting towards Amaryllis in turn. “To you as well. I appreciate the willingness to go that far of your own volition. The right path is often not the easiest.”

Of course, lest things be wrapped up too quickly she was confronted with Rachel’s demands. That caused Alicia to pause, looking over those who were present right now for that criteria anyways. Obviously Amaryllis herself wasn’t a part of that, and the lightning using boy who had helped out didn’t seem like he fell under that either. Which just left….pretty much every other non-Beacon member here.

Still, she hesitated. Her bow did not rise as she stepped towards Sil and the others. After all, they had helped. She felt a bit obligated to give them the opportunity to run away before she tried anything. She probably couldn’t have stopped them all if they tried regardless.

Before she had the opportunity to do another, a new arrival and a familiar voice brought her to a halt.

Turning, Alicia’s gaze narrowed as her grip tightened on her bow. Once more, magical wood was put to the test against anger induced strength. So, she had Regeneration and had survived the lightning. A Monster, in both the literal and figurative sense of the word. What she had wanted, had come to pass all along.

What Eden said was basically irrelevant, passing by unnoticed by the Seraph as her fury rose to a breaking point. “You…..” she muttered, tears budding in the corners of her eyes before her voice rose with pointed accusation. “You did this. You killed them!”

No more thinking, no more repression. Now was just action, and anger, a righteous fury that would no longer be sated. “I'll make you pay, you bastard!”

Her wings flared wide, the full brunt of their illumination directed at Eden to blind and disorient her. She knew that the girl had some sort of Regeneration or quick healing, but that was fine. It just meant that Alicia had to keep hitting her until she went down and stayed that way. Any thought of the others present or her instructions had vanished. There was just this fight.

An opening volley followed as she dug into her Blood Magic. Fortunately she had not spent much in the previous fight against that girl and her clones, so she still had a decent amount to draw on. And she would use as much as she had to to make Eden pay.

A palm extended to her bow, four thin beams of light striking out and sweeping across in alternating horizontal swipes. Said beams were spaced that they would create four equal sized Eden sections, though that would have required sustained damage that was unlikely to happen in this situation.

It wasn’t enough, she knew that. Twirling her bow, she let it channel her magical energy to a different part of her body. Wings flapped forwards, casting orbs outwards towards Eden and her immediate vicinity. Some exploded. Others erupted in short range beams of light that provided a chaotic mix to their longer ranged counterpart, though they soon faded. But that was made up for by the sheer quantity.

Was it excessive? Maybe. Did she care? No. Anger flowed through her veins and fueled her actions. Revenge and retribution were the sole motives driving her actions. Whatever it took to avenge their deaths.

“Burn for your sins!” she cried, face contorted with the pure emotions raging through them. Let them burn, until nothing was left.

Korax, First Officer

The team moved through the Moray without difficulty. They were always alert, always aware, yet there was nothing here to warrant such attention. One would think the pirates would have laid down some defenses, sabotage, the like. the fact that they had not was either a sign of negligence, or a longer play on their part. Korax did not have enough information to make an accurate assessment yet.

As they moved along Korax allowed Gue'rach to lead the way, allowing him to determine if there were dangers ahead while he examined their surroundings. It was what the crewmember was good at, so there was no reason to deny the personal satisfaction of a job well done.

Soon they arrived at the bridge. The lack of hostiles was confirmed, and the team could enter to begin their work. "Agreed," it confirmed with a slow nod before moving towards one of the terminals. While Gue'rach handled tactical, and Astrid various flight related systems, Korax would handle what was left. This had to be done carefully, to avoid surges or things that might indicate to the pirates that something was amiss. They didn't want to tip their hand this quickly.

Looking over the communications suite, smaller crystalline protrusions extended from his skin to allow for more tactile manipulation of the screens and control. "This one has assessed the communications. Damage is significant but it believes that it can affect a bypass. So long as the data load is not too heavy, it will function on a short term basis," Korax confirmed with a slow nod.

Still, there wasn't much they could do without power. Hopefully that was proceeding well too.

It was little surprise that Amryllis was able to make her dynamic escape from the hold that the Monster Queen had upon her, though Alicia was taken off guard by the sudden intervention of the pirate from above. At least she had already been cautious about others getting in her way, so there was no friendly fire as a result of this quick intrusion.

While she had been prepared to move as the Queen vanished through the hole in the ceiling, their attacks meant more head space to work with. A wince followed as Leena was burned, but she did not falter. They had to keep going, and make sure that the Queen paid for what she had done to their fallen comrades.

Grunting, she lowered her bow, using the seeds to give herself an initial vault before her wings carried her the rest of the distance. On the surface they found that Hyun had scaled the chains, and was now trying to smash its way into the ship above. Which would be bad, though that didn't need to be said.

"As if we'd let you get away with that," Alicia growled as her bow rose towards the heavens anew. It seemed like Amaryllis had a plan, though she wasn't sure what the warrior was going to do with a White Coin. Make the Queen eat it?

Before she could chime in, a laser of light shone through the sky, striking at the Monster Queen. It carried with it a voice, a familiar one that stoked Alicia's anger even higher. as if Martiette actually cared, like she was some sort of benevolent figure rather than the scheming servant of a Horror that she was in reality. "You've got a lot of nerve showing up here."

Her allies had the monster in hand. Alicia wasted little time and fired. Thanks to her Barrage power she could just as easily target both the monster Queen as well as Mariette herself. Arrows arced into the sky, explosive bursts of magic erupting when they reached their target. While she was dimly aware of Trixy's move, she assumed it was to hold the portal user in place to be hit. Meanwhile her arrows would stop Hyun burrowing further into the ship, and clear obstructions for whatever Amaryllis was planning.

"You've still got a lot to answer for." It was nice to think that this would work, but somehow Alicia had the feeling that this would be too easy if it did. Perhaps karmic, but still easy. And she certainly wasn't going to let anyone else pose a last minute save either.

Korax, First Officer

The meeting broke up, each group headed off to their own assignments. Korax met with the rest of Beta Team at the shuttle, after sharing a few words with the Captain in private to make sure mission parameters were clear and that he wouldn't do anything reckless while his first officer was gone. Even if he was back on the ship, it was still a legitimate concern.

Soon they arrived aboard the disabled ship. The trip was silent, all beings present focused on the mission at hand. Gue'rach led the way once they had arrived, making sure the immediate area did not have any hidden dangers that their scanners had not picked up before the rest of them entered the ship. It was a sensible decision, though comparatively unnecessary as they found nothing for the moment.

"Perhaps," Korax replied as he checked his scanning equipment, confirming what they had already suspected thus far. "This one has never understood the concept of claiming possession of another being. Studies indicate it is not a very effective economic model." This had been one of the nastier elements of culture shock, for such societal aspects did not exist among its people before they had met the ISA>

With that observation made, it was back to the mission at hand. He moved towards the compartment door, calm and ready for any potential surprises that might emerge. "Let us proceed to the bridge," he informed his companions as he did so. It was the next step in the plan, after all.
I sees someone has volunteered to die first on an away mission to show how dangerous the situation is.
Korax, First Officer

Seated in the briefing room, Korax was silent as it listened to the situation at hand, and the conversation of the crew heads. The light posed no problem for it, not when its species had developed in an environment with low visible light in thew first place. Occasionally there was a soft hiss, adjustments of gaseous and nutrient mixtures that flowed through its life support equipment on a regular basis.

In the dark crystals glittered, indicating his position if his rocky mass did not. Points were presented and addressed in turn, the flow of conversation moving along at its own speed. Those who had expertise applied it to particular situations, adapting the plan and improving the chances of success. It was good to see them working as a team.

Eventually it spoke up. Rock shifted slightly and rumbled, vibrations racing along its form to be picked up by specialized equipment developed by the ISA for those of its species. "This one had wondered why you did not intend to go with the rescue mission," it observed as it eyed Captain Carabello. His preferences when it came to direct action were pretty well known.

So it considered the plan, and the division of responsibilities. It considered where it would best fit into this plan. "Should it be necessary, this one can accompany the Beta Team. Its physiology is suited for such an environment, and it would not seek to endanger the work by interfering with those skilled in rescue operations," it said after a few moments more. Of course it was more than willing to remain on the ship, if that was what the Captain wished
Hm, a tree person and a rock person. I can see the plot potential already.
