Two Week of Viktor

Between a lot of reality tv, training, and "research", Viktor had found himself spending much of his time with a few of his teammates, more specifically Aleen'a and Ja who seemed to bombard his typical brooding with their highly positive energy, though it was more the second week where Ja seemed vastly more enthusiastic. Ja helped Viktor learn to cook more appetizing meals and taught him to keep his guard up in the most peculiar way. With Aleen'a, Viktor more of the teacher. She had so many questions on Earth and its people and he had wondered why she had chosen him to be the one to give her all the answers. On a nice day with minimal wind speeds, they played a game where Viktor would send a baseball flying with a throw or baseball swing with Aleen'a attempting to catch it out of the sky.

Viktor still spoke to some of the others on the team. With Alisa, it was typically sharing a tip for combat or asking about her specifications. Like Ja and Aleen'a she was very positive, though he noticed her slight insecurity when he asked about her parts for much too long. Viktor enjoyed his few conversations with Felix about sports and fitness, though he seemed to get lost in his thoughts at times. Viktor noted this.

Viktor had also spent time with Zachary, who was always available to show him displays of magic or tell him how useful it was. Viktor agreed with him, but he also shared how overreliance on one skill can be a bad thing. Casper and Coal we're also good company, and Viktor couldn't say he had a problem with the Wraithborn. Physically frail, but magically powerful. He wondered who was more capable between Casper and Zachary, but he kept that to himself and for his own assessments.

Kassandra or, the other "Kass" was shy and friendly, sort of like Daphne, except he found Kassandra to be far more capable in her ability. She could hold her own in a fight, and despite her socially shy demeanor, she seemed to become confident in the heat of some good physical training. Daphne, however, avoided him for the most part. It was probably best considering that he didn't feel she had much more to show for, especially after the bit of leaf he had shriveled and dried up after a few days. He was of the mind that she would quit at some point. Go back to Gotham to live as a normal teenager would, except she got to meet a few superheroes and their proteges. Two weeks had passed, however, and still, she remained. One thing he was interested in regarding her, was the person who had stalked her at the mall.

And then there was Talon. There were no words shared between these two, and rarely any acknowledgment. Talon befriending Daphne was actually a good thing in Viktor's as he didn't have much reason to speak to either of them outside of any mission.

The hiking trips during the two weeks were enjoyable and allowed Viktor to learn more about Ja, Alisa, Kassandra, Zachary, and Aleen'a during the activity. All in all, it was a good two weeks for Viktor Sullivan.

Viktor stood with the rest of the team as they received the briefing for their first mission. He felt a tinge of excitement as he was finally permitted to perform towards something of significant value. He absorbed the details of the mission, noting the criminal organization, Kobra.

It wasn't until Batman's final comment, that Viktor furrowed his eyebrows. He wasn't very fond of Talon, but this type of mission would fall into his field of expertise. Looking around at the rest of the team, Viktor had no choice but to put his faith in Talon. Perhaps he'll present himself as a better leader than a follower.

"Who's on which squad?" He addressed Batman.

Arriving at the FEMA Camp for the second time was a lot different today. Marcus refrained from using his powers and actually drove to the location. The less he used his powers, the easier it would be to remain under the radar.

Thanks to Jason, he would find Angel rather quickly. His target was known for her deeds in the community, and less known for her shady practices. An angel alright. One of life, but also death. Marcus hadn't been privy to what her ability truly was, but an eyewitness testimony described it as her taking life from one person and giving it to another. There were probably good intentions, but the method was downright twisted.

He didn't have to make a bold announcement this time. He saw her… Actually, he saw two of her. Two women matching the description Jason had implanted in his mind but dressed differently. They were greeting each other and both happy to see the other.

Not clones. Twins Marcus quickly deduced as walked across the camp. A few recognized him from the day prior. Hushed conversations and keeping out of sight quickly became popular within the camp. As he moved closer, he had a neat idea on how to figure who was the one he sought. The two women didn't notice him until he was within reach.

"Angel? I got someone that needs… Bingo!" One twin expressed confusion, the other was far more attentive as if she had heard the plea for help before. The selfish and the selfless were easy to pick from. You only needed seconds for a determination. A quick fist borrowed through the girl's chest cavity before both Marcus and the girl vanished from sight. As he carried Angel to a more secluded area, blocks away from the FEMA Camp, the heat of his hand burned away much within the upper portion of her torso. He violently snatched his hand out of her chest, allowing her limp body to fall to the concrete floor. The job was completed swiftly and Liberty would realize Marcus was keeping his word about the list. A few more, and then Forrester. Oh, and there was Lori...

Sporting a baseball backpack for his newly purchased gear, Viktor exited the sporting goods store alongside Felix. Once again, Viktor winced at how out in the open he was with so many people around. Being on the ground level for too long was something he would not be able to stand. He stopped in place, scanning the faces of people in the ever-moving crowd.

The movement of his eyes was inhumanly rapid as he studied the lost, the complacent, the excited mall occupants. It was captivating

"Felix, go on ahead. I need some air." Viktor made an excuse he had heard from one of those reality television shows he had watched while in the lounge of the HQ. He found the expression silly, but like Zach's backward speech, it seemed to work and allowed Viktor to go off on his own to the second level of the mall.

The new vantage was comforting. With a closed down clothing store behind him, he leaned on the metal railing to overlook a good portion of the mall. People watching… He still found the term inadequate. From interaction to interaction, Viktor observed. Some were mysterious, while others held a hint of humor. All in all, they all held a unique vibe.

However, something particular caught his eye. Like a hunter stalking their prey or an agent tailing their target, a man gave off the appearance of stalking none other than Daphne. Of course, she was oblivious, holding many bags with that lost look on her face. She appeared to have an objective, but a known destination was absent to her. It only made it easier for her stalker to follow. The prey was slow and distracted…

But she was also a member of his team. Choosing subtlety as his method of intimidation, Viktor took his own route to Daphne, circling around to intercept her from her front. With his hands tucked in his pockets, he strolled over to Daphne, his eyes looking past her to the man following her. To Daphne, it would appear as if Viktor was unaware of her and to the stalker, it would appear he had Viktor's full attention. He removed one of the two aluminum baseball bats from his backpack, holding it in one hand while resting it on his shoulder. One swing would do. It was all a matter of the intended end state. All in all, it was simple. Easy.

Viktor halted in front of Daphne before his eyes looked down to her wary ones.

"Daph, can you hold this... I want to see if it's too big for the smaller members of our team." As he handed her the aluminum bat, his eyes shifted back to her stalker who had moved back quite a bit. Viktor stared long enough for the man to deduce Viktor yet again had eyes on him, and with that came a swift retreat. "Come, we can walk and talk." He nodded his head in the direction she had already been walking in.

Should he have told her about the stalker? Perhaps, but he mysteriously decided against it. Why?

"As good as electricity might be, teleporting to work would suuure be useful… Damn." Michael frowned in the driver's seat of his white BMW X6 as Redbone by Childish Gambino played inside.

Michael thought traffic in San Francisco was bad before, but Lori's attack had done enough damage to create significant delays in traffic due to closed roads and detours. Then there were the checkpoints on the major streets that he had to avoid.

"I'm about to be fired. Damn, I should have left the condo early, but instead, I was playing with electricity." While in standstill traffic, he shot a text to Nyssa.

Running late. Traffic 💀

Late Morning

Michael parked his vehicle in the parking garage of the Doubletree Suites hotel where his client/one-of-his-bosses was staying. It wasn't cheap, but it was worth it whenever he got his paycheck. Besides, the parking garage kept his vehicle in a safe location while he used the company car. He had been given the spare key so he could take the vehicle when it came time for him to escort Nyssa Devout. He had driven her around enough times to match her energy. She was nice, smart, and really seemed to enjoy helping people. Even now, she was continuing with her agenda of helping those in need, despite the attack the previous day.

He smiled at the armored Cadillac before getting in the driver's seat to make sure his seat and mirrors were just right. "Perfect." Michael nodded before texting Nyssa once more to let her know he had arrived.

Your vehicle is ready and will await you at the entrance.

He took the vehicle around for a spin in the parking garage before heading for the front entrance of the hotel.

Viktor had listened to Felix's answer, keeping his eyes on his upbeat teammate as they strolled through one of the several aisles in the store. He found intrigue in Felix being from another time, especially the future.

So many questions filled his mind. Questions he could not simply ask in such a public place. Another time, then. The mention of a baseball game caused Viktor's brows to briefly raise in excitement, before lowering to their normal state.

"It could be interesting to compete with the others, but I don't believe many would be suitable for the sport. Perhaps something less organized due to having few players… I have learned today during our exercise that as a team, we have to account for the weak links." Viktor spoke frankly with a shrug

"Now, let's purchase these and go to a store of your choice, Felix."

When Viktor heard Felix call out to him, he side-eyed the time traveler. The rhythmic beating on the back of his seat on the commute here had not been forgotten. However, Felix's friendly demeanor helped Viktor be as welcoming as Viktor could be. Plus, Felix started the conversation with something he actually had a bit of interest in.

"True. Our gym has much to offer us. Nothing this store can provide." He gave Felix eye contact as the two continued towards the outdoors section. Viktor wasn't exactly sure what he wanted at first, but then something caught his eye.

GRAND SLAAAAAM!

Viktor found himself staring at an eight-pack bucket of baseballs on a shelf as a distant memory surfaced. It was the last of many games his father took him to. The Gotham City Knights versus the Central City Stars.

“Batting seventh, the right fielder, #8 Will Jackson!"

"Will Jackson! He'll crush this one for us too!"

The brief snippet of a memory left Viktor nostalgic, so much so that he managed a soft smile. A rare expression for the young man as he grabbed the bucket and made his way towards the aluminum bats and catcher's mitts. Once he grabbed a suitable bat and a pair of mitts, he faced Felix.

"Felix, we should get things for recreation. Our home has a great gym, yes, but there are other methods to fitness." Viktor's face displayed a bit more liveliness than usual. Just a bit. "How do you keep active from where you are from?"

Interaction: Just a fly

"Oh shit! Oh shit! Oh shit!" Michael shouted as electricity coursed between his finger tips. He moved his hands far apart and chuckled. "Damn this is sick! Like…. Shit man, I have powers…. I really have powers." It was as if he was trying to convince himself of the fact. His eyes peered down towards the hardwood floor where what was left of a fly laid.

To think he would discover his powers trying to pop a fly that had infiltrated his home. He had missed the fly, but the electrical discharge from his hands zapped the insect as if it had been charged with the death penalty. He swept up the deceased fly that fell apart into ashes he smirked and disposed of it.

Electricity…. That's my power. Dope, I can work with this. Be the black Cole McGrath or like a young Black Lightning. Taser punches, electrocution… can I charge stuff? Wait… can I drain stuff. I gotta write this shit down… I gotta tell Floyd… He won't believe my ass through text, I play too much. Michael had to head to work, despite having powers now. He grabbed his keys wallet and carefully placed his phone in his pocket. He'd settle for just telling Floyd about the powers when he ran into him later. They were roommates so he didn't think it would be long.

Dressed in a charcoal suit and tie, Michael stepped out the door, with a positive outlook for the day.

His slight smirk formed into a neutral expression at Agent Donovan's shocking revelations. The words had left him dumbfounded in her presence, which was one of welcoming and friendly. It was unfortunate that her words struck with contempt and deceit.

Federal Security service… FSS… 'not actually American'... Russian… government…

Those words were practically pinned to the forefront of his mind. It somewhat alarmed him with how she spoke of it so effortlessly, facing him with a pleasant smile. She could have been talking about anything else. Maybe even just the middle part about who the targets were and being okay with breaking up families. Marcus could fly with that, but this? She was practically serving him spoiled meat with A1 customer service. He pulled away from her with a scowl on his face, putting distance between them.

"Breaking families and killing people who got it coming to them is shit I've been doing the last decade." His body started to vibrate finely and with it, heat began to radiate from him. "But I'd be DAMNED if I work for the fuckin' Russians!" As furious as he was, he wouldn't harm her. "Lose my damned number." Marcus zipped away in a blur, the heat finally burning away the aesthetic portions of his suit, leaving black form fitting weave reinforced with a heat resistant plating.

The following day…

Phone? Melted. Apartment? Compromised. Accounts? Still intact… for now. Mood? Ready to put hands on someone!

After his meeting with Donovan, Marcus visited his stash in the garage he had purchased when he first arrived here in San Francisco. His work life was always shady and gritty, and he anticipated there might be a time where whatever agency he found himself under would leave him high and dry. His original plan was always simple. Car, tangible cash, nearest border crossing. The current situation was a bit different, and he was still coming to terms with it. Jonah wanted him dead and Donovan was tasked with doing so, all while being a Russian spy. It would only be a matter of time until Jonah sent others after him, and they wouldn't be showing up with potential job offers. Now thinking of it, he looked at the hunk of metal and plastic that was his phone from his bed where he sat comfortably in thought.

Without it, he wouldn't be able to reach Jason about that job. He just had the list. Maybe while asking around at the FEMA camp, he can find Jason again. He needed allies and he also needed to figure out a way to kill a new target.

Grabbing the remote at his side, he flipped on the news, watching the coverage of the giant altered who ravaged San Francisco.

You on my list now and I think I'm gonna put you an express pass to the top.
