I didn't realise until just now: Haruki, on a 7 you are able to ask 1 of the questions for Survey An Area: - What resources does this place offer? - How can I gain access to this place’s secrets? - What here harbors Darkness? - Who else knows of this place? - Are we alone?
Cool! I'm going to go with "What here harbors Darkness?", because she's going off of one of Echo's lessons, and looking for the specific source of the darkness in this area.
Rosalie didn't expect anything to happen. If anything, she thought she would be just playing the violin and nothing would happen.
But...the moment she picked up the violin and held it in position, she felt that energy and heard the voice. She suddenly didn't feel weak or stupid anymore. Ideas were flooding into her mind, both for stories and for music! With that newfound confidence, her violin grew from quiet to a loud and proud melody. Was this what courage felt like? Rosalie couldn't help but wonder, smile, and laugh.
She found herself dancing a bit while her uniform changed to that of an adventurer's outfit, like she was a character in a magical girl anime. The adventurer's outfit was one of peak fashion without sacrificing the practicality needed for adventures in both urban areas and the wilderness.
That was when the executioner flipped off the stage with a menacing longsword in hand. Rosalie didn't stop playing though. Instead she grinned, and she commented upon seeing the menacing gesture,
"Well then! No need to wait for a Maestro! Let's go, Reminiscence!"
It was so strange, she knew what to do! The knowledge of how to handle herself in combat came to naturally!
She looked to the puppets who were going to be hanged, and to the puppets who feared the executioner but may have lingered. She called out to them, "Why are we letting him decide who is guilty or innocent? Why are we letting him decide who lives or dies?! That's not his choice! The answers to those questions are up to you!". When she speaks the word 'You', she directs her earnest gaze at the one of the more meek or smaller puppets among those who were about to be executed. A small bubble appears around that puppet and orbits around her.
After she gave the call, her music transitioned into a different melody. As she played, she released the energy that had been building up! That energy took the form of blue fire leaping out from the violin and bow, with small flickers resembling pixies. The pixies and blue flames fly to the executioner, not to burn him but to set him alight.
As this happens, Rosalie notices a marionette string wind itself around the executioner's ankle and her hand.
She knew what to do: Should he move, she would yank on the string and throw him off balance.
Other than that, she quickly moved 30 feet back so as to not be caught by the sword.
Bonus Action: Bardic Inspiration with a Mote of Potential! Action: Faerie Fire on Executioner Reaction: (Should it be necessary), Silvery Barbs on Executioner if he succeeds on Dexterity Saving Throw. Movement: 30 feet back.
@Lucius Cypher I don’t think I can post an IC post during lunch break at work, but I do know what I want to do for Rosalie’s turn. ^_^
She’ll cast Faerie Fire on the Executioner, and use a bonus action to give a Bardic Inspiration to one of the puppets who were next to be tried and found guilty.
Should the Executioner succeed on his Dexterity Saving Throw against Faerie Fire DC 13, Rosalie will use a reaction for Silvery Barbs.
Also, I thought I should quote rush on the handy magic item Rala got in between the two previous battles, just in case. ^_^
The scabbard bracer fits onto the user's forearm and imparts the following benefits:
• The scabbard bracer can't be removed from the user while they are attuned to it. • The user can insert a weapon into the scabbard bracer as an action. The bracer can hold only one weapon at a time. • The user can retract or extend a weapon from the scabbard bracer as a bonus action. While the weapon is extended, the user can use it as if they were holding it, but their hand remains free.
If an attached weapon requires attunement, the user must attune to the weapon before it can be extended. However, the scabbard bracer and the attached weapon count as a single magic item with regard to the number of magic items the user can attune to. If the user removes the weapon from the bracer, their attunement to the weapon ends.
Hey guys, I've been getting a lot more inspiration to roleplay again recently. I was wondering if you'd ve willing to accept me back into the group at some point? Only if it's a good time in game too. I know Rala was just seen as badly injured so I'd even be willing to player her with disadvantages. Maybe to perception (lost an eye or something) and losing her dual wielding feat?
Hey Birdboy! I'm glad to hear you've got inspiration to roleplay again! XD
I'm going to wait a bit longer and let you guys post amongst yourselves before I post another DM post.
For the sake of Brevity on an update from me: I will say that 6 seconds have passed for Tasha's Hideous Laughter. For now, the Lornling can't do or say anything but laugh while under this spell.
EDIT: I forgot that the Lornling can roll to save again after each turn. After 6 seconds it rolled a 11, so it's still laughing.
Stargaze continues leading the group forwards. After a while, she realizes that she isn't sure what they were looking for. She had to stop and think about it. She spoke out loud, "....Echo did say that all life comes from somewhere. All plants come from a seed. Maybe if we find where the thorns originated from, we might be able to find the other dragons who are trapped here,"
She looks around trying to find the origin of the thorns and the subsequent darkness.
