I know it's a little late, but Happy New Years everyone!

I'm going to get a DM post up this weekend. ^_^
@Guardian Angel Haruki i didn't see the metatextual angle of Scheherazade coming, but that's very fun

Thank you! I figured the subtle metatextual angle suited the eidolon better than a flashy summoning, especially considering that Scheherazade is already in journal and pen form. ^_^

also, both of you, make sure that you're recording both the maturity and the affinity on your ties. everything should be set to 1 at the moment since you just formed those ties, but when your ties change, your maturity and affinity will increase. both are important because maturity gets cashed out as experience, and affinity can be used to supplement draws that use your weaker stats.

The rulebook recommends you write them like this, but as long as you record both maturity and affinity I don't mind if you do it differently:

(Maturity) Bond description to Person (Affinity)

So for example:

1 Diana takes charge when there's a crisis 1

Got it. Thank you!
I've added the Maturity and Affinity accordingly.
@ctrlsaltdel

Since Emily has a Tie to Luka now, what do you think of this as Luka's Tie to Emily?

1 "Emily must be shown that I am something far grander than some fraternity tribesman." 1

Emily: ....Yeeeaaah. That arrogance is not helping your case, Buddy.
@Guardian Angel Haruki No roll necessary--I have a real, physical tarot deck here and through it I can push my mastery of that I'll draw the cards from, and you pick from the draw.

Your ELE is 2, so you get:

The Moon - Negative - Something unknown or unknowable interferes
Temperance - Neutral - You are met with an equal and opposite reaction

Understood. Thank you!

Let's go with Temperance. ^_^
@Guardian Angel Haruki, bond looks good!

I'm down with your in-character actions too, but Pick Locks, Hack Consoles isn't the right move for this--you're kind of trying to do the opposite lol. Let's call this a Challenge Fate: ELE? It'll be the same draw, you'll just use the forecast from the card you pick instead of the ones from Pick Locks, Hack Consoles.

OK. Sounds good. Let's go with it. ^_^

Shall I go ahead and roll for the draws here on the site?
Upon hearing Luka ask about Ashley's last name, she shot Luka a warning glare. Of course it went ignored. Emily even knew that Ashley didn't like talking about the people who shared her last name. That was a line Emily herself learned not to cross while sharing the dorm room with Ashley.

But the conversation was quickly cut short when Santana spoke up, mentioning that they didn't have time, and snapped his fingers. Emily found herself gripping at her card and not letting go, as though she had been shocked and her fingers wouldn't listen when she thought of letting go of the card. She watches as the card takes form of a tarot card, the design bearing her likeness of her own appearance! One half of her is her normal self in jeans, shirt, hoodie, and sneakers, while the other half is that of a greek priestess!

Straddling between reality and imagination...
Bridging, defining, and also making a clear line between the two...
This is her...?!

She is brought back to her senses and found herself sitting at the booth in Mario's with Luka, Ashley, and the Crow...as though nothing had happened. She noticed the coffee left behind with a note, clearly indicating it was from Santana.

Luka easily takes care of getting two people he knew out of the cafe, but there were still others here...

When he mentioned the Indy Ploy and just having fun, she answers in sarcasm, "Only if you want to die again. I'm not so keen on that,"

While she would have helped the Crow with the caffeine, she became too focused on her thoughts and trying to figure out what to do. Thankfully, Ashley was able to help the Crow in her stead.

Emily recalled the mentioned gifts that Santana mentioned, and upon thinking about it, she felt her mind divert its attention to her journal and pen that she carries around everywhere! Her eyes widened as she pulls out the journal and pen in question.

The journal appears to be a small, black leather covered book on the surface, and her pen just a standard fountain pen, and that was all it was before she died. But...when Emily opened her journal, she finds that after her previous passage she had written, new words were appearing in beautiful cursive describing the present moment as the group speaks, not too unlike seeing how words appear in Tom Marvolo Riddle's Diary.

Yes, the very words you are reading now appear in the journal!

Emily could not help but gape in awe, and amazement upon realizing the possibilities!

She looks around the cafe, and she whispers to the group, "I have an idea. Hopefully this can give us more time and room to prepare, and get innocent bystanders out of the way. Just stay quiet..."

She proceeds to uncap the fountain pen, and the self-writing journal stops. She takes the point to the pages, and proceeds to write...

"In this quiet moment within Mario's, Head Waitress Diana feels the creeping sensation of danger lurking outside. Her intuition warns her not to ignore her senses. In order to heed this warning, she knows that she needs to close Mario's early and as quickly as possible. As she does so, she remains oblivious to the presence of Emily Sanderson, Ashley Whitlock, Luka Durand, and the Crow."

Emily then caps the pen again, and she watches as faint light dances across the words she just wrote before continuing to write on its own.

She looks up and watches to see if her idea works, biting at her own thumbnail nervously. She knew it sounded crazy on the surface, but she felt as though her writing would actually work to influence things in their favor...

<Snipped quote by Guardian Angel Haruki>

yep, feel free to let them rip whenever you're ready

Got it. Thank you!

Hopefully I will be able to post later, but I have an idea on how to introduce the Eidolon Journal and what ability to use. ^_^
@ctrlsaltdel Out of curiosity, and to double check, would the eidolon abilities be working now?
Emily looked briefly to Ashley when she agreed with her questions and added her own of 'Why us?' on top of it. When the flashy frat boy responded indignantly to her description. She gave a nod at his first question, and she listens as he gives a brief 'How dare you' speech, before he agrees with their point. She said nothing up until he mentions the wealth and connections. There she quietly snarked, "Up until Mommy and Daddy cuts you off..."

Then came Santana's answers, to which Emily paid full attention to. Apparently, Santana is currently at his lowest point right now and he couldn't pick anyone else. Emily hadn't expected Santana to pick up her card and spin it. Even less so what happened next. Upon feeling that uncomfortable flutter in her chest, she let out a small hiss of a gasp. It felt like another bout of nervousness, anxiety, or fear, but this was clearly different: It didn't feel like it was threatening to squeeze her heart until she dropped dead. She thought she was daydreaming again when she saw the colors overtake her vision, and she vaguely sees an unknown woman holding something aloft.

The vision was gone before she could make anything else out. The next thing Emily knew, she was looking at the card, back where she first saw it.

She listened further, taking in every detail of the location they were in, how it borders between dream and reality, mind and matter, and the forces at play. Receiving the power from the energy from their discovery of this cycle...in the form of their idealized selves, a representation of their souls? A part of her couldn't help but wonder, "What does this mean for writers here...?!"

She looks up from the makeshift diagram of the lime and the cherry to look at Santana again when he makes it clear that their foes have the same powers and are more practiced at it, but they would receive that same power. All that was left was to answer one final question:

"What...did she really have left...to lose?"

The answer was nothing now, of course. But her mind still brought up the worst case scenarios. She does start to reach out for the card, only to close her fingers hesitantly as wicked whispers disparaging her and their chances of success come to mind. Those voices soon ring in their ears loudly to a distracting degree...She's not good enough for anything. Her ideas may not even be original after all. Maybe she should just stay dea-

One voice immediately silenced those thoughts.

That voice belonged to The Crow.

She looked to him when he spoke up and told her to not be afraid, and that he was confident in their gifts, their wits, and their teamwork, even if one has failings. She gave a small smile, keeping herself from tearing up a bit. A small chuckle escapes while The Crow and the flashy guy argue.

She is silent as Luka asked further questions and Ashley began a round of introductions. As soon as Ashley posed the question to the group, she starts, "Oh! Uh..." She then quickly speaks, "Emily Sanderson. Also pursuing Bachelor's. Undeclared major. I only have basic self-defense, but never really used it,"

She then looks to Santana, back to the card, and then back to Santana again, as she makes her decision, "...I accept your deal,"

She immediately picks up her card after saying so.
Emily is silent as she listened to Santana as he introduced himself and answered some questions. She blinked at his apologetic look in confusion. After he mentioned the people who killed the group, and how he jumped at the opportunity to call them here, she started to ask,

"The people who killed us-?"

She stops and her eyes grow wide at the memory of the man standing outside with a concentrated look. She then gasps in realization, "Wait. That guy...!"

She half listened as Santana explained the cards in front of the four of them. The other half of her mind recalled what had occurred before she spotted the man outside. A question arose from those memories and the answer eluded her even now!

She looks up as he expresses what he wants in return for bringing them back to life: For them to mess with the people who killed them and ruin their plans. She looked at The Crow and the flashy guy as they just accept the deal without hesitation or question. They may have the name Santana, but as far as Emily knew, none of them knew what kind of devil they were dealing with, or what they were getting themselves into.

Looking at her own card...she too didn't want to pass up the second chance to achieve her dreams. But there were questions that need to be addressed.

She speaks up, "Wait a minute! Wait. A. Minute!"

She looks to Santana directly and she starts, "I'm not saying 'No', but there is something that needs to be addressed,"

She clarifies further, "I think I saw one of the people you mentioned and what they did, but I do not know how he managed to attack and kill us in the diner. Also, to be frank, you got two college students, the crow, and a frat boy," As she lists the four of them off, she points to Ashley and herself first, the crow second, and Luka last.

She soon finishes, "You didn't exactly get super soldiers or spies worthy of Mission Impossible to assist you, and we're clearly not dealing with just some Average Joe. So, how do you expect us to be able to counter...whatever that guy did?"
