Starbright took this night to relax, the bath was all ready. He had a new herbal bath bomb from Japan or something, it smelt like just what he needed to calm down. Hoping in to the clearly oversized tub, even he had to stretch to reach the remote. There was a specific tune he wanted to play tonight. In fact, it was something he felt the great desire to play every night he took a bath.

"Splish splash, I was takin' a bath."
"Long about a Saturday night."

Starbright couldn't fight the urge to sing along. The bath tub was almost a ritual to him and it really helped get his mind off all this EAGLES business. Being one of the only spokespeople against it was tiring work and in all honesty there were points where he considered just leaving it all alone. If he didn't know the gang as much as he did, he would certainly be taking that approach.

It all wasn't anything new to Starbright though, this sort of this happens in the music industry all the time. In fact, he himself had pulled the exact same move EAGLES did a couple years back. But it is so much worse when it happens in the world of heroes, there are lives on the line this time. Which is probably what bothered Starbright so much.

There he went again, delving too deep into things, during bath time no less. This would certainly harm his ability to sleep. Instead of 8 hours he would likely only be getting 6. Which is unacceptable. Back to the song, maybe that could get his mind of it again.

"A rub-a-dub, just relaxin' in the tub."
"Thinkin' everything was alright."

After the bath it was time to make up dinner. Sure, he had a personal chef to make meals for him. But Starbright gave him the night off. 'I'm 19 now' he thought, 'its about time I learnt to make some of my own meals'. It was all part of an initiative Starbright was taking to govern his own life more, be more independent. Tonight's menu was eggs on toast.

They sucked. Starbright had gone through 5 eggs to only make a couple that looked decent. Still, they didn't taste very good. It tasted like poverty, and Starbright was not suited for that. But he had to stick to it, he had to learn.

At least he could soak up the view of the city. His lounge where he ate had large glass panels that overlooked the bright lights of the city. Like something was shining back just for him. Sure he could easily leave this place and be well out of the way of EAGLES, but he couldn't imagine a life away from Castleburg. Starbright will never leave this place, even if he has to fight for it.

The news report played the Spacewalker EAGLES story, Starbright wasn't very shocked. Of course the social media star betrayed the gang to join EAGLES, he thought, those ankle biters will do anything for a chance at real fame. Starbright had assumed this very unfavorable opinion without knowing the full story or context.

Interested in this, got an extremely bare bones application. Will edit the rest in later in the day.

"Hey Kota, drink this, it'll help calm you down a bit." Rowan had moved over to Dakota and had a cup of tea held out to offer. Only after she said her first sentence did she realize 'calm you down a bit' could be taken in the wrong way. "Wait, hang on I uh, didn't mean it like that. I'm just saying all that must have been pretty scary." She took a seat next to Kota still offering the tea. "I don't know if its the wellspring or just because I haven't seen you all in a while but everyone seems a lot more powerful now."

Rowan threw a few more sticks on the fire, watching it rise up a bit before back down and becoming stable again. "I think we all need to take a bit more care with our magic now that we're proper witches. It was fine to fight and practically bite each others heads off when we were kids, but now we can just about blow each other up." Rowan had a short laugh to herself before continuing, what she said had sounded ridiculous but it was very true in her mind. "I just, don't want to see any of us get seriously hurt over some petty squabble. I think some others are going after Summer to settle her down now, you clocked her pretty good huh." She couldn't help but show a small smile of satisfaction when saying that. "Anyway, I hope you can make peace with her when she comes back. I don't think the Sisters were expecting a witch war on the first night. Neither did I, as a matter of fact." Rowan had another chuckle to herself.

Merely hours after Seraph's address, Starbright held a live stream toward his fans. 'Tears of sadness' ran down his face as he address the matter of Eagles. "So *sniffle* by now you all have heard about Eagles. *sniffle* I am sorry to say but I, Starbright, was not invited to join. Seraph has ended my hero career, I will keep producing my music but it will *sniffle* be tough with this weight on my heart. All I wanted to do was *more intensive crying*, save... people. But that isn't even the worst part."

Starbright had to try his absolute hardest not to smile at this next part. Although it was his duty to help keep Patty safe, he couldn't lie and say he wasn't about to enjoy what he was about to say. "A good friend... no, one of my dearest friends in HERO, Patty Donnelly, is being hunted down by Seraph. *sniffle* She couldn't be capable of murder she is only a teen and that isn't even all of it. She was my... biggest fan. Now, thinking about her on the run, all I can think about is that it could have been any one of my fans *sniffle* in her situation. So yeah, thats the main reason I am in tears. Please don't let this go unnoticed, I started a hashtag, #savestarbrightsbiggestfan, it up to all of you to be the heroes now." Well there you go Patty, Starbright thought. Until you start putting yourself in the spotlight, everyone will think you're my biggest fan.

Later on mainstream Castleburg news, a much more composed and serious Starbright made his address to those who aren't teenage girls.

"I think Seraph and Eagles are going in the right direction, Castleburg certainly needs change and has needed it for a long time." Starbright cringed at how vague the term 'change' was. He knew better than anybody that is was merely a buzz word people like himself and Seraph use to get blind support on an empty promise of progress. "However, the dispanding of HERO has gone under the notice of every employee there until Seraph's address. I think everyone would like a few things cleared up first, which is why I, Starbright, will be looking to produce an exclusive interview with retired legend, Hugo Powers. The problem is he has gone dark for the past week, so if anyone has any clue on his whereabouts let me know immediately. Not that I want to throw any accusations of course. Now where were we, ah, my new albu..."

The interview continues with non-hero matters for the entirety of the broadcast. Starbright added in that line about accusations, this should spark some conspiracy wack jobs to start speaking about a potential Powers kidnapping. Whether Seraph had been responsible for that or not was irrelevant, right now Eagles just needed as much doubt on them as possible without directly confronting them.

Starbright was taken aback by the positive reception and taken even further back when the body to the voice came into focus. It is pretty clear that he expected his fans to be on the, well, smaller and less masculine side of things. "I read your file, but I didn't expect you to be such a big fan. Its good to meet you but we have people to save." Starbright could appreciate Bullet's style, it would be easy to sell the heroic look like that. The only thing he needed to work on was that voice quiver and he would be a fitting team mate. "D... Did you come to save the kidnapped heroes with your incredible posing and blasts of light!?" "Well I like to think I do that everyday through song but today I get the priveledge of doing it in person." He turned around and gestured to James, the paparazzi, to take a picture of the two. Tomorrows headline, 'Starbright leads team to save kidnapped heroes' the people would eat it up and could bring more attention to the matter.

And then the others arrived, and it didn't take long for Patricia to start insulting him. Usually Starbright liking toying with her and loved the back and forth, however with all the steps he had taken to save them he did not expect to receive a metaphorical slap in the face. But when she threw the James' camera down the street breaking it he lost his cool. "Optics Patty! Grab a book and learn about it!" He then turned to James, "I'm sorry about this, just know this doesn't represent everyone at HERO. I'll reimburse you for the camera and give you a little bit extra. Now I believe you should probably leave."

Starbright made sure James was out of earshot before continuing as he would bring up matters that should stay out of the papers for now. He realigned himself back to address Aria. "You ever think to yourself 'hey maybe if I spent a little more trying to look good in the public eye. Maybe Wings of Law wouldn't be able to so easily get away with kidnapping us all.' Because news flash thats the reality of it. If it weren't for people like me and Powers this whole thing might have gone completely under the radar. Even then, do you think we are going to be able to just hop over to Club 27 and burn the place down? No, that might work with those gangsters you roughed up. But we are dealing with stars here and they play by different rules. Blowing up Club 27 will dissolve HERO almost instantly. So yeah you could say Wings has basically gotten out of this scot-free. Screw me for trying to stop that." Starbright had to take a deep breath after that, it was clear this had made him quite emotional. But he quickly reverted back to normal Starbright, a skill only years of stardom can teach.

"I'm sorry for all that everyone, I don't know what came over me. Not very leader like hahaha maybe I'm not so cut out to lead this rescue squad huh." While he said that he adjusted his outfit back to normal, gaining back physical composure as well as emotional stability. "Now lets go see the situation at Club 27."

Starbright knew this would be far from the end of all this.

Starbright lay on his couch watching TV on one of his few off days. But that wasn't true for this past week, in fact, Starbright had been keeping a close eye on the news. He was scared, it was only a matter of time before Wings came to take their revenge and he had arrived at Club 27 with the rest of the gang on that day. Or could he be wrong, could his knowledge be off and he was just taking a very important week and spending it at home for nothing. A week on low star activity Starbright could handle but if he let this whole thing affect him any further, it would harm his relevancy. Luckily a certain news broadcast ended his current suffering, but brought a whole new one.

Seraph had most certainly made his move, claiming to lead HERO was a natural step. With Powers popularity dropping greatly over this past year, Seraph and the Wings of Law had only grown. It was clearly the most effective action to take and would collect little protest from the public at large. But it was the last part that shocked him. Seraph had accused Patty of mass murder, a feat the teen clearly was not capable of. She may be very mean and prone to abusing her powers, but she was clearly not capable of murder. Starbright almost snapped the remote at the thought that Seraph had killed innocent people just to frame a teenage girl. While the teen pop idol may be eccentric, fame hungry and egotistical, he still had a very strong sense of right and wrong.

The thing that made him turn the remote into little pieces on the ground, was how little he could stop any of this. "Patty, I hope you can make it through this." As it would turn out, the gang's rescue squad would need to be formed again. Starbright began by calling up a few media publications, then back to James the paparazzi. A non-HERO judge of character would be essential in all of this.

Midas had been continuing his march into Watervale territory, the Brookside Bruisers were starting to become a feared name. It was strange because the gang almost had more territory in Watervale than Brookside now, despite the name. From his office, he had the TV on and a peculiar news broadcast was airing. Midas dawned one of the widest grins he has had in a while. Wings of Law was going to lead HERO and that meant good business for him. Midas had been in Wings' pocket in the past and it looked as though he would be getting very little hero resistance for the time being. It was time to expand further.

Rowan first replied to Kate, "well with stories like that, I'm sad I had to make a forest venture. Either way I still like my horror shows live." She gestured over to the situation with Summer and Dakota, but felt bad as she saw Summer retreating into the woods in tears. Though,Rowan doubted she would be able to comfort the witch. Even if Summer would be willing to listen to her, which was a slim chance, Rowan doubted she would have the right words to say. Ultimately, she decided to just not comment on it. "I'm going to get changed I feel like I'm the odd one out here haha."

Rowan reemerged from her now set up tent in her pjs. "I would love to see those mountains one day." Rowan replied Isolde "I've barely been outside this town let alone the state. Well at least I still have more of these mountains to see, when I've been camping before we've always stayed some distance from the wellspring. I feel like this forest has so much more to offer." Rowan took the kettle off of the fire. "Anyone want tea?"

Well, well, well HERO was finally putting Starbright in the captains seat. It is just about time, find the rest of the gang and stomp out Wings, after that there is nothing that could stop him from being HERO’s top dog. Thoughts like this ran through Starbright's head as he stood before himself in the mirror, styling his hair for an upcoming stealth mission. As much as he hated the idea of stealth, he had a duty to do and he planned on carrying it out. First thing was first though, he had to round up the other two and, as luck would have it, he had their locations on his phone right now.

"Let see here, Watervale, not the best place to go and the other one is at... ew gross Brookside. Well Watervale it is then, I'll get an Uber or something to pick up the hero in Brookside." Starbright's driver put the pedal to the metal and the bright white limousine speed off toward Watervale and the coordinates on Starbright's phone. Starbright himself was lazily sprawled across the seats and took an occasional sip of a mocktail.

While he was waiting he thought he might as well read up on who these other two are. Apparently they're new to HERO, which was good news, helping a hero in their breakout mission is great for publicity. The three didn’t have the most cohesive look but a wardrobe change to the other two could certainly solve that. He looked further into their profiles. But eventually Starbright just got bored, all this leader stuff was tough and he needed a break. So he tossed the files to the other side of the limo, having only looked at the two’s pictures then promptly returned to his phone scrolling through social media.

The limo pulled up to a movie set? What was everyone trying to find here and… oh it was for Marcus Aurelius. Starbright still couldn’t believe that the movie had outsold his autobiographical film ‘Shine’. What did the life and times of someone who died like a hundred years ago even have to offer? Like hello? He’s clearly long gone and irrelevant. Nevertheless Starbright slammed the door open in usual fashion, bathing the nearby area in light.

Paparazzi were already lined up to get a picture of the star, and Starbright could help but oblige. "Yeah yeah ok remember to get my good angle. Oh wait they’re all good angles ha ha. You guys work fast huh?" “What brings you to the old set of Marcus Aurelius Starbright? Wanting to get revenge for it outselling you in the box office?” "I’ll have you know ‘Shine’ was a dazzling success. If you look at the online sales with it you’ll find it beats this tacky movie by miles." It was a blatant lie but Starbright said it with enough confidence that the press believed him on face value. "Now I’m going to need to ask for some privacy, this is official and confidential HERO business. So you will all need to scram unfortunately but I still love you all.” As the group left he grabbed the sleeve of the nearest one and in a subtle tone invited him to join. "I don’t think HERO would mind a little bit of publicity on this, come along.”

Shortly after this a loud crash could be heard from within the movie set. Starbright and his new camera wielding friend rushed over to see what had happened. "Hello? Can you hear me? Are you from HERO or are you a villain?” Starbright made a motion to the paparazzi with his hand to indicate ‘keep the camera rolling.

There was an alternative reason for Rowan to head into the woods. In fact, it was more like her primary reason to come all the way out here in the dark. She was still insecure about her powers and she hadn't had a chance to try them out after the wellspring. It couldn't wait until morning, Rowan had a sneaking suspicion it would weigh on her mind all night. She doesn't handle lack of sleep well and she knows it. Luckily, she had a perfect participant to help her out. The badger.

It had been following closely through Rowan woodland ventures and knew that it likely did not have a home up here. "Mum doesn't really think these things through a hell of a lot huh." She was kneeling and petting the badger. "I can't have you out in the cold all night can I. You just wait right there." Of course, Rowan didn't expect and answer from the animal but she did know it would at least comply due to her mother's magic.

Rowan proceeded to cut her right palm and place it on a nearby tree. The badger was a few steps behind watching the whole thing. At first it was slow for anything to happen, even for a moment Rowan feared that the wellspring had done very little to help her. But then the roots of the trees shifted and changed at a rate she had never seen before. A sizable hole opened up in the ground near the stump. It was a badger hole fit for a king, a badger king that is. A regular king probably wouldn't care for it. Either way, Rowan was proud of what she could do.

"I know my mom has brought you up here to look after me or something. But can you please keep that to a minimum. I don't want to be the only one here with an overprotective mom, you know? Its embarrassing..." Knowing that the badger couldn't reply she ended it at that. "Now you just stay snug in there." Now all that was left to do was find those herbs.

Sometime later, Rowan had finished her search and had made her way back toward camp. But entrances were critical when it came to scary stories around the fire. She started rustling the bushes, quiet at first and then growing in intensity before jumping out. But then quickly realized that very few were even taking part in the camping tradition. "Oh, uh, guess I'm a bit late for the scary stories then huh. I got the stuff for the tea but didn't find much firewood, which is strange being a forest and all." It was clear she wasn't telling the truth and she hadn't really been looking for firewood at all. Either way she knelt by the kettle preparing the tea. "Thanks for keeping the kettle going, shouldn't be too long before its ready. So..." she clapped her hands together once. "Whos spook-tacular stories did I miss anyway?"

Rowan stayed around the wellspring for a while sharing her concoction around and helping people out of the wellspring. But ultimately she had to go back to the party, and she alone back through the trail. Well not alone alone she was with the group, just not really talking to anyone. After going through something like that, she much preferred to be left to her own thoughts for a while. Rowan was now in the big bad world of witches and in her mind she couldn't decide what to worry about first. Being able to live up to what her grandmother has done or the fact that even now as a fully fledged witch she still didn't have any self defense magic. Guess time would tell how she will shape up especially when she will be in close proximity to her peers. She tried to get all this out of her head but it would resurface again and again.

Coming back to the party was enough for her to forget about her worries for a bit. Then her dad picking her up in a bear hug was enough to clear her mind of it completely. "I'm very proud of you Rowan" her mom said to her. Rowan's mom wasn't one to waffle on with words, but the small amount she gave meant the world to Rowan. "Thanks mom, I uh guess I'm a witch now." Rowan couldn't help the smile spreading across her face, there was little she could do at all to hide the excitement she felt. "Also, sorry, but could you get my box garden from back home. I... didn't know if I would make it into coven so I didn't pack it for the trip here." Her mom then had her go at hugging her daughter "well luckily for you, someone believes in you a lot more than you do at the moment. The garden is already packed into the house." "Thanks mom, you're the best."

Sister Lark's proposal for a night of camping couldn't be any better. Rowan had already spent sometime camping in these woods. Of course, not anywhere so close to the wellspring though. It was still a tad to early for her to put on pajamas or anything, there was still a lot that could be done. "I think I'm going to go see if I can get us some more firewood. Also I know theres some herbs on these mountains that can make a nice tea, so I'll keep an eye out for that. I hope the ghoul that haunts these woods doesn't get me. OOOOooooOOOO." Rowan had her hands raised as if imitating a ghost before walking off with a chuckle. I mean sure ghosts really did exist, but its not like any were going to get us here.

Rowan started making her way toward the woods, she noticed a badger at the treeline looking at her. No doubt a spy of her moms trying to keep an eye on Rowan, it was comforting to know it was there and she returned a smile toward it.

Starbright spun around on his chair at home. Sure, the multi million dollar mansion was great but his day had been consumed by a feeling he hadn't felt in a while, boredom. The problem was that he felt he should put all of his effort into making sure the others were safe, but there just wasn't much he could do right now. Making a move against Wings would be career suicide and complete very little, he had already exhausted all avenues of news coverage about the missing heroes and doing much else would bring suspicion onto him from Wings. I mean sure he could go do rich and attractive people things, but he has already done that every day of his life plus even just spinning around on the chair he was still doing that. But then he had a great idea.

Wing of Law didn't know that Starbright knew about the kidnapping. So if Starbright were to join the search party they would be none the wiser. Plus it would bring more attention to the disappearances. It all was only a call away, "yeah hi Francine. Could you patch me through to Powers. Yeah, let him know I am will be leading the search party for the missing heroes." He said this fully well knowing there had been no discussion of this previously and completely ignorant to his true (lower) level of importance within HERO.
