Jideh Basrah

@Arya10108909

"What's steampunk? And no, I've never heard of Percy Jackson." Jideh replied as they made their way out of the Dorm building. Jideh pulled out his phone and turned on the flashlight functionality, though there was still enough light to see by during dusk. His boots crunched on leaves and detritus as he half-listened to Amelia's chattering. They kept a reasonable pace, and the Academy, shrouded in shadow as it was, seemed to usher them on. The road leading down to the city was upon them and something felt off. Jideh realized it was because Amelia was waiting for him to respond.

"Are you saying I'm not stupidly cute?" Jideh asked, feigning offense. He led her down to the tram station, by way of a staircase leading down underground. It was odd here. Being an earth elementalist by domain, if not specialization, he should feel right at home. Instead, the grimy and cold tram tunnel made him feel less comfortable. Still, Jideh's stomach was grumbling again. He just decided that if it was death or living down here, he'd choose death. They waited for the tram, and once it arrived, Jideh led Amelia down into the city where they emerged into surroundings that glowed in the night. It was just a short walk to the place he'd scouted beforehand; Sushi Soko.

Sushi Soko was a quaint little shop squished between two huge shopping outlets. What had seized Jideh the moment he stepped through the doors was how quiet the place was once the door shut. And how orderly the tables were, how not a speck of dust remained undisturbed. The decor was not garish, and it also wasn't particularly Japanese, but the staff who ran the kitchen looked as though they knew their way around cooking some means sushi. Jideh had always wanted to try the stuff, back when he'd been on the farm. His family had talked about the kind of food rich and successful people ate, and it always came back to sushi for whatever reason. The other thing that had struck Jideh about Sushi Soko was that the prices were well within his ability to afford. That had confused him at first, but then he realized that the reason his parents probably thought sushi was a rich person's food was because of their own relationship with the farm. Jideh himself was still a little bewildered at how much in the city and at the Academy was imported. The costs involved had to be astronomical...

Jideh turned to Amelia, and smiled easily.

"I hope you like sushi. If not, I'll still order some take out for me, but if you do then we can grab a table inside."

Better. I approve it, but would like @Zelosse to take a look when he gets a chance. Go ahead and put your CS in the proper tab now though. Make us proud!

@Arya10108909

Your Teacher CS' History is passable, however I can't accept a personality section which amounts to; This is what Gideon did one time in class. It doesn't give other players of sense of who Gideon is, just what he does. Your student CS Amelia was accepted, so look at what you did with her, and try to not only apply it to Gideon, but improve upon it. You are by no means incapable of producing great characters and I'm eagerly waiting for you to flesh out Gideon. You could do a lot of weird stuff with a Math teacher!

Good luck!

@CrabInATree

The only logic you honestly need to apply to Blood, is that whatever you're going to do with it, if you're using your own blood, you have to be careful not to lose it. And you have also only got about... a big punchbowl's worth of blood in your body, so you don't want to kill yourself right? If you ask me, how I personally would use Blood, it's much more based on external sources of blood. IE; other people. I have a Blood nurse so whenever I see fit to include her, I'll show off some of her abilities.

@Kalleth Ah...*scribbles out some ideas* Flora is a good idea. And a few more ideas to ask about, just to get an idea of things:

Is "Magnetism", or something like "Gas" or "Fog" that could be a gaseous subset of water perhaps like Ice is a solid sub-element, work?

Magnetism is a property which emerges from electron arrangement. That said, Lightning users are essentially manipulating electrons to create and control their element. Thus there's a potential magnetic power/technique which Lightning users could discover if they're clever enough. It's not broad enough to even be a sub-element though, since this is the Elemental (in Aristotelian sense) Academy and not the Basic Universal Forces Academy. Though I will grant you that BAFU is a much more pleasing abbreviation than EA. *shudders*

As for gas/fog, all elementalists can manipulate their element in a variety of forms. The more forms of the element they choose to manipulate, the more time and energy they have to invest in exploring the mechanics of their second soul. Any esoteric use of Earth for example, such as Flora, is practically so different as to be nearly it's own sub-element. Jordan Manilow's specialization is Sand, however he's a 42 year old man, so he can manipulate Sand, Soil, and Rock all with high competency, in theory. His specialization, essentially comes from his military past. As annoying as he is, his elemental expertise is very practical. But for example, Jordan wouldn't have the first clue as to how to use Flora techniques.

Anyway, to come back around to what I was trying to say, variations of an element, especially physical but in some instances spiritual as well, are still under the umbrella of said element. Choose a specialization if you like, but you don't need to limit yourself to just Fog. Gas would be air, and Fog water, and all these CHILLY Ice experts are in fact Water users. So have at er. Let me know if anything else is needed.

So among my first questions was one about a potential "Wood" element, and Zelosse told me to talk to you about it.

So...could there be a "wood" element, or would this not fit into things?

And what about something like Bone or Metal as well?

What you mean when you say Wood is the sub-element known as "Flora." You can find my own Flora user in the CS tab, and a *fairly* comprehensive explanation of how it works directly underneath Jideh's CS. If you have any more questions regarding Flora, which is the "wood" element, so to speak, feel free to PM me.

As for Bone, the closest you'll get is the Blood sub-element. Now, one function of the bones is to produce blood cells (or is it plasma? My biology is rusty.) so you have an angle. But don't expect to be raising the dead or creating an exoskeleton of bone, or shooting bone fragments like a Marvel mutant. And lastly, Metal falls firmly into the earth element category, and if you pay attention to some of my posts, Jordan Manilow actually wields metal, if we're speaking about strictly scientific definitions. He can even coat his fists in iron, hardening them significantly.

Note: Earth-users, barring perhaps Aspect level competency, shouldn't really be able to manipulate factory-made metals. Only naturally occurring minerals and stuff in the actual, well, earth. And also minerals in their body too, if they're stupid/foolhardy like Jordan.

Hope that helps. Based on what you're asking, I think you want an Earth elementalist, possibly with a Flora specialization.
