Her mind reeled, the children of the gods got powers. That was normal. It was comforting, so whichever god was the god of electricity was her parent. Even if she wasn't claimed she could ask and maybe from there they could figure it out. Maybe she did belong somewhere.

Andy felt the power of the storm. The tingle of the air and sharp smell of ozone. For a second she thought it was something she might be doing. Everyone reacted to her like they had been to the others as they had been claimed by their godly parent. Chiron announced that Zeus was her father. She had a father. Her heart soared, but then came crashing back down. Did it change anything? No school would believe "Yeah my dad is Zeus god of..." What was he god of? She wanted to ask, but the question got lost somewhere between thinking it and asking it. She hoped one of the others would ask.

Some of the campers had backed away from her. Was it the lightning and thunder that had scared them? Or was there something about her father that scared them? The kids who had wandered off had seemed impressed and a little freaked out when Hades had claimed his children, would this be similar? If so she doubted she would be able to sink into obscurity and just get through life.

Then it clicked in her memory. Chiron had said when talking about Hades that there were the "big three" Zeus was one of them, it also meant she wasn't likely to have siblings since they had made some pact about not having kids. Well, fantastic job keeping to that pact guys there were three of them right there. Not to mention all three of them were close in age. What happened about 10 years ago that two of the three decided to just not care about the pact anymore? Why even make the pact? More questions that she wanted to ask, but didn't have the nerve to ask. Maybe she could convince the girl with a skull in her hands to ask.

Niah winced slightly as Goose leaped from her shoulder, she then rotated her shoulder stretching it. He was a good cat...or whatever he was. She wasn't certain if she completely trusted his opinion, but she guessed if he was gonna rub up on Scarlet Witch that way then he probably trusted her, with whatever metric he used to decide with people he trusted.

While Niah had proven she was decent at infiltration due to her powers, she still wasn't a fighter not in her core. She had spent the last months instead learning about Quantum Physics and with that knowledge she was frustratingly the expert on the subject. A frown crossed her face, it was stupid. She had always been intimidated by Novikova because of how intelligent she was and now here Niah was struggling to understand Novikova's subject in hopes that she could save her, and everyone else who had died.

"Well I guess us brilliant minds will get to work on the other project, and those of you less science minded people can get to work on that." Niah vaguely said quietly and then added even more under her breath "Hopefully one of us succeeds." She moved over to Dr. Banner and nodded at him. "I've got a couple of ideas I've been thinking over."
Once everyone had had their fill of granola bars, fruit, and water Sumi stood up. She looked at Astrid and Alexander, "He was able to do it because this place feels your essence. Alexander is a child of wind and sky, and here only here would he be able to bend it to his will. Though it is less bending it to his will and more..." She trailed off and looked to Kade for the rest of her thought.

"Here it is more like becoming part of it. For a moment you were the wind." Kade finished.

"Alright, now does anyone have experience with magic in their world? Specifically finding lay lines." Sumi asked and looked at the group. They were diverse enough of a group it was possible someone had at least a passing knowledge of how to find lay lines.

Niah bit her lip thinking. How could both Wolverine and Novikova remember both realities? That didn't work with the sliders idea, well if she was honest it didn't work at all since there was only one of them. She wondered how so many of them remembered the other world and not this one, or vice versa. Why?

"We can discuss the reality issues after we deal with Banner. If Lance," She paused and realized he wasn't there, there had been some light. Well, at least Wolverine also hadn't noticed him leave. "I was going to say if Lance can try to talk him down. If Banner sees him looking well and alive that alone might calm him down. I think if we approach with hands up he might not attack." It was more of a hope than an actual idea. The idea of facing the Hulk was terrifying. "We should secure them a bit better in case they wake-up or in Diggby's case attempt to escape."

Niah grabbed a set of handcuffs, she was tempted to cover her mouth too but decided against it. "Relax Diggby we haven't even taken off. You'll be safe here, now that Lance has wandered off to who knows where." Niah quickly pulls Diggby's hands behind her back and hooks the handcuffs around her hands. Loose enough that it shouldn't hurt her, but tight enough she wouldn't be able to slip her hands out. She frowned as she did so, there was a concern that she wasn't doing the right thing.

Andy gave the blonde girl her age a small smile and nod in return. She seemed like she was nice enough, though very energetic. Andy liked that she was asking all the questions. Andy had plenty of questions of her own but didn't like to ask them so she appreciated it when someone had the same question and asked it for her.

Andy made a mental note. Hecate was a goddess of magic. Hades the god of the dead (but not death). The two kids close to her age were both kids of Hades, making them half-siblings. The blind girl was the daughter of Hecate, who was also goddess over the dead apparently? That was a bit confusing. There were two gods who dealt with the dead. Andy wondered how that worked and hoped someone would ask what the difference between ghosts and "the dead" was.

Before any clarifying questions could be asked another of their group was claimed. Chiron said she was the daughter of Aphrodite, he explained that Aphrodite was the goddess of beauty and love, which made sense considering how much makeup and dress up stuff had appeared on her. Andy was thankful that Aphrodite wasn't her mother. She didn't think she could handle the dress or the expectations. Was there a god or goddess of like ninjas? Andy could see herself sneaking around being a ninja.

There were going to be a lot of names to learn Andy realized. So far she only knew the blind girl was Jade and the red-haired girl (the only other one then her to not have been claimed out of their little group so far) was named Kiera. Maybe Andy wasn't even going to be claimed? Maybe there had been a mistake and she didn't belong here. Andy didn't think she belonged anywhere so that wouldn't be much of a surprise to her. But there were the monsters and the man who gave her the dagger. It was a special dagger, she knew that because it only hurt the monsters that people didn't see. It couldn't hurt people, that had been proven.

Niah kept a finger in the book, but let her free hand scratch Goose as she stood up and joined the others in the medical area. It wasn't a fantastic setup, but it sufficed. "I'll help." Niah said holding up the book. They all had to have known she had been obsessing over time travel since the postcard had appeared on her desk courtesy of Goose.

When the door opened her hand, that had been petting Goose, was at her ICER, which was pulled and pointed at Wanda as she entered. She lowered it slightly when Wanda spoke. She raised an eyebrow at her question. A lie came to her, but she kept it to herself. She holstered her gun, and let her hand go back to petting Goose. Niah wouldn't keep him from leaving her shoulder if he decided to go Lovecraftian horror on Wanda.

Many things happened quickly, if she hadn't been looking at her sister maybe she would have had time to react. Niah only had time to partially free her ICER, but she didn't aim it or put her finger on the trigger. She frowned. There seemed to be some sort of conspiracy happening, a mutiny, one she had not been asked to join but had not been seen as a threat to the cause of. Interesting. Her frown deepened and she holstered the ICER. Those left standing were an odd combination, but with how the day had gone it made some sort of sense. Diggby, restrained, hit the nail on the head. Something odd had been going on all day.

Novikova was saying this wasn't the real world. Wolverine seemed to agree with her. Niah had always been intimidated by Novikova's intelligence. There was something about her and her powers that made her strangely unapproachable. Here she was asking Maria, Niah's friend, if she trusted her. There was an awful lot wrong with this world. She slid her phone into her pocket again. There were enough of them left standing that even if she did decide to argue the point she would be like the other's unconscious or unable to do anything about the situation. "I'm listening, but is it possible this world is real and you've somehow ended up here?" Niah knew enough about the multiverse theory that it seemed possible. A snide joke about "sliders" felt like it might be appropriate, but she couldn't come up with a good one.

Niah sat not far from the medical area reading a book on Quantum Physics. It was her third book on it. She had no idea if it could help, but she hated to sit idle and would be reading anything that seemed like it might help her understand the Quantum realm or time travel. Goose was in her lap and she happily had one hand distracted petting him, gently scratching under his chin. He was an odd comfort in such horrible and trying times.

She did hear the conversation going on in the medical area and was concerned about the implications. She knew Star wars well enough that Susan's explanation was unneeded. She frowned and paused in her reading. "Goose I think I need to step into the medical area and join this conversation. Want to join on my shoulder?" She offered. Niah wasn't certain how smart Goose actually was, but considering the tentacles that could come out of his mouth, she decided to play it on the safe side whenever dealing with him.

Siblings. Andy's mind spun. Family. Something she had been denied her entire life. She had been a toddler when she was left at the hospital, and they had waited and put out her photo hoping someone would claim her...anyone. No one had, and now, today most likely, she would be claimed. A parent would say 'yes this is my child', and then she would have siblings. Well maybe. Chiron explained that some gods didn't have a lot of kids. She bit her lip and played with her bracelet. Then come winter solstice she would meet that parent.

Another of their number was claimed. The blind girl, Jade, she was the daughter of Hecate. Andy didn't know who that god was, or what their domain was, but it appeared to be books and ferrets, that was an odd combination. Maybe it was more than just ferrets, but all animals or at least all rodent ones.

Andy looked at the cabins, trying to imagine which one seemed like it belonged to her, which was going to be her home. Her stomach twisted as she thought the word home. Was this her home? Was she really going to stay here with all these strangers? She was supposed to be trained to be a hero here. What did that even mean? Her guard was up and she stood at the edge of the group not quite daring to mix.
Sumi and the others rolled into the slipstream. It felt like hours or even days may have passed as they fell. Katalina's voice became hoarse and she was soon unable to scream. The next time she tried to speak it would be weak and whispered.

Finally, a bright pure white light flooded their vision. It hurt after such a long time in the dark, and then they were on the ground. Landing hurt, but they at least didn't hit at terminal velocity.

They now stood in a void of white light. The distance was impossible to tell and eventually, it just faded into a fog. Sumi stood up and looked around, she looked at Kade who nodded. At least it seemed they were in the right place.

"Okay stay close to each other. Kade, let's all eat something. I'm starving." He nodded and pulled his backpack off and handed everyone a granola bar, a piece of fruit, and a bottle of water. He peeled is orange quickly and put the rind in a bag that he offered to the others for their trash. Sumi ate a snickers.
